A/N: There is going to be quite a lot of backstory, for some characters, a lot of fighting and some death and destruction within these next chapters. Thank you for the reviews and thank you professor fluff for your concern.

Disclaimer: I don't own DBZ, but isn't it nice of Mr. Toriyama to let us play around with his characters like we do? What a great guy.

Chapter 13.

A scorching wind blew across the wasteland that made up the entire planet. Giant beasts and parasitic beetles roamed the land, feeding off of each other in the most savage incarnation of the circle of life. Upon the first observance, this planet seemed completely uninhabitable. Yet, from this planet, a distress beacon was being transmitted. Surely, whoever sent the signal would be long dead by now. Still, something was odd about this planet.

The myriad of creatures that stalked the land held no fear, save one. They all seemed to avoid the area that the distress signal was coming from. What could make these vile beasts, with their limited intellect, avoid an entire region of the planet? What, on this entire godforsaken world, could imprint such instinctual terror on their primitive minds, that they would abandon potential territory.

The wind whipped up the dirt and debris, while lightning crackled constantly through the skies. A solitary figure walked through the sandstorm. An old man, with white hair that went down to the middle of his back and a green, almost luminous, complexion. His fine robes and sophisticated looks were in stark contrast to the barren wilds of planet Vampa. He was heading toward the distress signal as calmly as if he were taking a stroll in the park. The closer he got to the signal, the more beast carcasses where piled up. A veritable graveyard for any who trespassed in the region.

He first noticed the ship, one of the Cold empires, judging by its design. It was derelict and would clearly never fly again. The next thing he noticed, was the back of a small boy, hardly a toddler.

"Hello there!" the old man called. But no answer came.

He walked closer to the child, who was kneeling down with his head bent low. He had long, unkempt black hair and tanned skin. The old man moved closer to the boy, "Young one, what happened? Are you the one who sent the distress…"

He now saw what the boy was so focused on. Lying face down in front of him, was a man with short spiky hair and a beard. He had on the armor of the Cold empire and a monkey tail. His lifeless eyes stared blankly from their bloodstained face. From the stench, the old man guessed he had been dead for several days.

"Was this your father?" The old man asked. There was no pity or sorrow in his voice. Merely a passing question.

The boy nodded. His expression as devoid of emotion as the mans voice.

"How did he die?"

"Kill him." The child responded.

"You killed him?" The old ones' voice now showed the slightest hint of interest.

"Not want to. Not mean to. Made me fight. Not mean to. Not Brolys' fault. Made me fight." The young saiyan, for the old man supposed he must be a saiyan, shook his head. "Broly not want fight. Not want kill, now Broly alone. No more fight."

"How long have you been here?"

The child kept silent.

"Those creatures I saw on the way in? Did you kill them too?" Broly nodded.

The old man put his hand to his chin and stroked it thoughtfully. A child who could kill all those monsters, not to mention a full grown saiyan, was a rare find indeed. The two were silent for some time.

"So, Broly is it? You don't like to fight?" The Saiyan shook his head

"Neither do I." The child finally looked away from his deceased father and stared at the green man. "I find it rather distasteful myself. I find That Peace is a far greater alternative."

The saiyan had never heard that word before. "What peace?"

The old man laughed before answering. "Peace is what happens when nobody has to fight anymore. It is a glorious thing and is my ultimate goal for the universe. Can you imagine it Broly? An entire universe without violence? Without fighting? Is that something you would want?"

No more fighting? This sounded like something Broly liked. Then nobody would have to be hurt. He wouldn't have to kill. Broly nodded his reply.

The green man smiled. "That's good. I can tell that you and I are kindred spirits my young friend." The man crouched down and put his arm around the saiyan. "What would you say if I offered you a chance to go with me on my mission of peace?"

"Go with you?"

"Yes. Broly, you can help me achieve my goal of peace throughout all the galaxies. When we're through, I will have control of everything, and with you at my side, we can ensure that nobody can fight ever again. Will you help me achieve our dream?" The old man looked at Broly expectantly.

The child considered the offer. He looked from the old man, then to his dead father. If there was no fighting, his father wouldn't have died. He wouldn't have had to hurt all those animals. Peace… A single tear fell down his cheek.

"I go." The saiyan stood up and so did the old man.

"Wonderful!" Exclaimed the old man as he clapped his hands together. "Brolly, I know that with you helping me, nothing is outside our reach. You will be the hero who brought peace to our universe.

For the first time since he could remember, Broly smiled.

*KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK*

Broly opened his eyes. He sat up on his bed looked out his window into the vast emptiness of space. How long had he and the emperor fought for peace? How many had fallen to their cause.

"When?" He said quietly.

*KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK*

"Enter." Broly called to whoever was knocking. He kept his gaze fixed on the black abyss.

The door slid open and a soldier, wearing the standard jade green armor, walked in.

"Sir!" he saluted. "I have been instructed, by his majesty, to inform you that we will be passing Earths' moon in a few moments."

Brolly turned and looked at the soldier. He was pitch black, with hair to match.

"What was your name soldier?" Brolly asked.

The soldier became nervous. He had seen the saiyan warrior in action, not to mention heard the rumors of his brutality. He had no desire to fly any higher on the mans' radar.

"I-It's corporal Cole sir."

Brolly smiled. He knew his reputation among the men as a ruthless monster. It saddened him that people would see his actions as those of a brute. He only wanted peace. Sometimes he wished he didn't have to fight to achieve the ends he desired.

"Cpl. Cole. How long have you been with the Jade army?"

Cole thought for a moment. "Well sir, I believe its been just over 5 years. I enlisted just before we took veritas."

"I see." Brolly said thoughtfully. "And how many planets have we conquered since you joined us?"

"I, I don't know sir. I never kept count." Cole was confused by this line of questioning. Was this a test?

Brolly frowned. "I have. I've been with the emperor for over 30 years. We've acquired 20,917 planets, not counting those without civilized life, across 9 galaxies. Less than a quarter of those were taken through peaceful negotiations. As for the remainder? In our initial acquisition, we've sometimes killed millions, but more often billions of soldiers who were defending their homes. You do the math." The large saiyan began pacing.

"His majesty says that it is only natural to resist change. That when an invader comes, no matter how well intentioned, they will fight to the death to resist and keep their primitive and violent ways of living. But, when we conquer them, when the fighting stops, we bring medicine, technology, new methods of cultivating crops. So of course, they must see how much better being in the jade empire is, right Cpl. Cole? But, how many of those planets have started rebellions?"

Before the soldier could answer, he pushed on. "I'll tell you. Every single planet has rebelled against the jade empire. Even some that were taken peacefully in the first place. Why? Why would they do this? Why will they die? Are we really bring peace to these people? Maybe it would have been better to leave them be." He paused and heaved a great sigh while sitting back down on his bed.

"I have so much blood on my hands, and yet… And yet we are no closer to the peace that we desire. Every step forward takes us three steps back. I… I'm so tired of fighting." The look of sheer sorrow on his face was astounding.

Cole wasn't sure what to say. None of what the saiyan was saying made sense to him. He was just a soldier after all. War is what they did. "Sir, I…"

"Never mind Cpl. Cole. Forget what I said. Go and tell the emperor that I will be ready and by his side by the time we reach atmosphere.

"Yes sir!" The soldier saluted before about facing and exiting the room as fast as he could.

Once again, Broly sighed. "When will I have peace?"

Break

"Now, mom, let's talk about this." Gohan said in slight panic.

"I don't know why your getting so upset, I thought you would be excited." Chichi responded with confusion to her sons' resistance.

"Well, I mean, it's only been a month. Maybe you should wait until the new year? Or even next summer? Yeah, that would make sure I learned my lesson!" The boy said with hopeful eyes.

The usually stern mother folded her arms and looked at her son as if he'd grown a second head. "Look Gohan, I don't know what your trying to pull but you're grounding is up, that's final. Now, why don't you and Zangya go out and have some fun?"

Gohan groaned. He was counting on being grounded for a lot longer than this. He had made a certain promise to a certain nosy blonde that he was hoping she would forget by the time he was free. But now, he was certain that she would get her interview.

Zangya on the other hand was anything but disappointed. 18 had told her about a sale at the mall in orange city (The mayor was waiting till Hercule returned from whatever training journey he was on to officially christen the city with its new name of "Satan city"). Zangya had never been to the mall before. Her usual outfit suited her just fine, but she was eager to try something new and 18 said that shopping and wearing new outfits was fun.

With this in mind she grabbed Gohan by the wrist and dragged him out the door. "Thanks, Chichi!" She called behind her before taking to the air while still dragging her young captive.

"Come on, rice ball, stop moping." She said with a smile. "18 says that the mall in orange city has a ton of fun things to do. You should be excited!"

"Uh huh." The boy replied rather glumly.

It didn't take them long at all to get to their destination and meet up with 18. The Cyborg had been waiting for them and was ready to get moving.

"it's about time you showed up. I was about to start without you." She said with her typical stoic look.

"Sorry 18." She pointed to Gohan. "This one was slowing us down. He kept trying to Make the grounding longer for some reason."

"What? Why?" both women turned to the boy.

He sighed. "It's kind of a long story." He didn't really feel like explaining to them how he had been blackmailed into giving an interview.

"Well tell it on the way." 18 said as she started in the direction of her favorite store.

Gohan sighed. As if a day of shopping wasn't bad enough. Now he had to explain how he had been outsmarted. "Well, it started when this guy Sharpner…"

By the time Gohan finished his story the trio was standing outside a clothing shop.

"So now if I don't give her an interview, she'll tell everyone about my secret Identity." Gohan finished miserably.

"Here we are. Always 18." They looked at the store and Zangya stared in awe at all the cute things she could try on. 18 turned to Gohan. "I guess I see your problem, but why didn't you just do something to get yourself grounded again?" 18 asked as if it was obvious.

Gohan looked dumbfounded. "Oh…Yeah, I guess that would have worked." He suddenly felt very foolish. This feeling was enhanced when Zangya put in her two cents.

"Also, it's not like you have to tell this girl that you aren't grounded anymore. For all she knows you still have to go home right after school. Just let her think that." She said while pressing her face against the store window, the better to see a skirt she thought would suit her nicely.

Gohan smacked himself in the forehead. "Oh man! Why didn't I think of that?" His glum expression changed to an upbeat one. "Besides, what are the odds of us seeing each other outside of school? It's gotta be like a million…"

"Hey, Gohan!" A familiar voice shouted and Gohan deflated.

"To one." He finished quietly.

Of course, Erasa, who loved shopping, would be at the mall when most of the outlets were having a sale. She made her way to the trio and latched on to Gohans' arm.

"Wow, what are the chances of running into you here of all places?" The blonde pulled Gohans arm in tighter.

"A million to one apparently." Smirked 18.

"Well, I'm just surprised you're at the mall, aren't you supposed to be grounded?" Then, a sly look crossed her face. "You haven't been lying to me to worm out of our deal, have you?"

Gohan was flustered. "Uh, uh, no, I just got ungrounded today. What a coincidence, am I right Zangya?"

Zangya didn't answer. In fact, she didn't hear a word of what was said. From the moment Erasa latched herself onto the boy, she had been glaring at the arm, as an ominous aura was emitted from her. 18 had noticed this, but Gohan and Erasa were oblivious.

"Well, well, well! Gohan I underestimated you. Who are these lovely ladies? Could one of them be your girlfriend?" Gohan waved his arms in front of him in a panic. He didn't want either 18 or Zangya to be mad at him for letting that slide. "Ahaha, no way! They're just friends. In fact, Zangya's almost like a sister."

Zangyas glare and aura intensified.

"Well, regardless, I'd hate to take you away from such stunning beauties." She said while looking at the women that accompanied her target. "But you do owe me a date, so let's get going."

Before she could drag him with her, the poor boy was snatched up and marched off by the blue beauty. 18 followed while Gohan looked back. "Could you excuse us a minute?"

The trio huddled up.

"So, do you want us to kill her Gohan? Holding that kind of information over your head warrants it in my opinion." 18 may not have been heartless, but her moral compass didn't always point north.

"What? No! Listen, it's no big deal. I'll answer a few questions and it'll be over. I might as well get it over with now. I mean, it's just an interview." Gohan didn't particularly like Erasa at the moment, but killing was a little overboard.

"Then why did she call it a date?" Zangya asked while still glaring at the offending party.

"I'm sure that was just her way of teasing me and putting me off balance. Like how she called me cutie before."

Zangyas ominous aura began to boil.

"Ok, but kid, listen, when a 13-year-old girl teases a boy like that, it usually means they want more than an interview." 18 explained as Zangyas hair started to float and her eyes went dark.

"What? You think she'd try and force me to give her flying lessons too? She only asked for the interview." Gohan was a little worried he didn't want to give her flying lessons. He was way too busy for that.

18 face palmed.

"Gohan, I'm waiting." Called the younger Blonde. "Of course, if your having second thoughts I can always tell everyone that YOU'RE THE GOLD Mpfmfmp!" Gohan had rushed over to cover her mouth with his hand just in time.

"SSSHHHHHH!" he hissed. "Ok, fine you win. Where do you want to interview me?" he took his hand off her mouth and she smiled.

"Smart boy. Let's go somewhere a little more private." She said with a wink and led him away leaving the two women standing there.

"18."

"Yes?"

"You were right. We should kill her."

18 looked at her friend and her fiery aura.

Shopping can wait. Something way more fun just cropped up. Thought the blonde cyborg.

Break

"So, your hair actually turns gold? It's not a wig?"

"Nope." Replied Gohan. "It's my real hair."

Gohan was nervous at first but after the first few questions, the interview flowed naturally. He made her promise again to not tell anyone of course, but she seemed like she was just curious about him and not interested in ruining his life.

"Huh? How does that even work? And why the hair and eyes and nothing else?" Erasa was quite enjoying the interview. She had relocated them to the roof and they were standing close to the ledge. There were a few other people up there but nobody could overhear them. At least, that's what she thought.

Just outside of hearing range (at least for a normal person), two women with above average hearing were sitting with their backs turned slightly to the kids, and sipping on their bobba teas.

"Why are we doing this?" The blonde one asked.

"What do you mean? You're the one who said we should follow them." The red head replied.

"No, not that. I meant, why are we wearing these disguises?"

Both Zangya and 18 were wearing fake glasses with big fake noses and mustaches. Zangya was wearing a large, colorful sombrero with bells on it and a matching poncho, while 18 was wearing big fluffy cat ears and a pink trench coat.

Zangya looked at 18 as if she'd asked a really stupid question, then she realized something.

"Oh! 18 I'm so sorry. I should have known you wanted the sombrero. Here let's trade." Zangya reached for the cat ears but 18 started swatting her hand away. A minor scuffle ensued while Zangya kept trying to grab the cat ears, which, for some reason, 18 was determined to not let her get.

"Hey! Stop it!"

"Why, I thought you wanted to trade?"

"I'd rather have these ridiculous ears than that giant thing!"

"Ahem!" A woman passing by caught their attention, which made them stop. She shook her head and the two friends straightened themselves, both slightly embarrassed. The woman walked away while muttering something about "freaks".

"Look," the cyborg started while straightening her fluffy ears. "I was just saying we don't need disguises at all. We can fly remember? We could have just floated below the edge of the roof and overheard them."

"Heheheh." Zangya chuckled slowly while shaking her head, causing the bells on the sombrero to jingle. "18, 18, 18. Clearly you are unacquainted with the art of espionage. The best way to gather intel, is to stay as inconspicuous as possible. Flying would make us way too noticeable." Zangya reasoned with an air of superiority.

"Well, to be honest, I think these disguises draw more attention than flight would." 18 countered.

"You think so?" Zangya questioned sincerely, making 18 sweat drop.

"Ahem," The blonde cleared her throat and changed the subject. "Anyway, I think you were worried for nothing." She gestured to Gohan and Erasa. "It looks like it really is just an interview. She hasn't made a single move on him." 18 was a little disappointed.

"What! I wasn't worried!"

"Riiight." 18 rolled her eyes.

"Well, anyway, keep watching, she looks like a crafty one."

Break

"Your majesty, we are about to enter the atmosphere and we have set up the communications device."

"Well done." The Jade emperor was seated on his throne in the command room. "Such a convenient device, that is. And it will broadcast my voice to the whole planet you say?" He asked, somewhat impressed.

"Of course, my liege. A planet of this size is no problem. Such is the genius of your empire." The man bowed.

Break

"Wait, wait, wait. You're an alien?" Erasa asked.

"Well, half alien, but yeah, on my dad's side. That's how I…"

Gohan stopped talking abruptly as a shadow passed over the city. He and Erasa looked up to see what was blocking out the sun.

A giant space craft was descending over the city, casting its massive shadow over the citizens below. Everyone looked skyward and pointed at the strange occurrence. Some people remembered the saiyan invasion from several years ago and began running for their lives. Others thought it was some kind of show.

Gohans' face lost his casual demeanor. He sensed several high power-levels on board. He couldn't tell whether they were friend or foe, but their presence was enough to put him on board.

"Friends of yours?" Erasa asked half joking.

"Citizens of earth!" A voice boomed across the city. "You have been blessed with a great opportunity! Your planet has gained favor in the eyes of our great master, The Jade emperor!"

Ok, I guess that makes them foes. Thought the half saiyan.

"As a planet in the jade empire, you will be granted all the privileges and advantages that the thousands of other planets under our care receive!"

"Some of you may be wondering why your world is to be blessed with such abundant good fortune! There is one among you who the emperor deems a hero. A saiyan warrior who has defeated a great evil and his majesty would like to reward his planet as well as honor him with a chance that few warriors have ever gotten. Your Champion will fight one of our warriors and, should he pass this test, will earn his place in the Jade army! We invite this man to come forward so he may receive his prize! As a special treat, we will broadcast this battle to you on your planets' very own sky!"

As the announcement was being made, the citizens of earth were in an uproar. Those who could see the ship tried to throw things at it, while those in remote parts of the globe were incensed that such a bold invasion was being staged against their planet. Of course, everyone knew that they had one hope. The hero that all the earthlings knew the voice was referring to.

"YOU IDIOTS! IT'S PRONOUNCED 'SATAN' NOT 'SAIYAN'! GET IT RIGHT!"

"JUST YOU WAIT! MR. SATAN WILL SEND YOU ALIEN FREAKS PACKING!"

"YEAH, HOW DARE YOU TRY TO TAKE OVER OUR WORLD WITH THE CHAMP ON THE JOB!"

"JADE IS A GIRLS NAME!"

Then the chanting started.

"MISTER SATAN!"

"MISTER SATAN!"

"MISTER SATAN!"

"MISTER SATAN!"

"MISTER SATAN!"

There is a saying. It goes "Speak of the devil and he shall appear."

The same is true of heroes. As if called to the very place he needed to be, a figure was hopping on rooftops toward the big space craft. His dark hair rustling in the breeze, his eyes firm and full of purpose. He landed on a building just below the ship. He stood there like a statue, arms folded, staring at the ship that dared to attack his home. He unfolded his arms, took a deep breath and yelled as loud as he could.

"THE CHAMP HAS RETURNED BABY!" Hercule Satan held out his arms high above his head, both hands forming a peace sign in his signature pose.

The crowd went nuts. "YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! WE LOVE YOU MISTER SATAN! KICK THIS ALIEN SCUM BACK TO PLUTO!"

The Champ smiled. Heh, I still got it.

He turned to the alien space craft.

"OH YEAH! YOU HEARD ME YOU SORRY SONS UH GUNS! THE CHAMP IS BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER! YOU ALIEN INVADERS DON'T STAND A SNOWBALLS CHANCE IN VENUS! BAHHAHAHA!"

On the ship, there was confusion. Who was this buffoon?

"Adamantia, is this the warrior who defeated Cold and Frieza? He doesn't seem like much." The Jade emperor questioned.

"It's hard to tell sir. Our intel did not provide us with a visual, only that it was a saiyan who can suppress his power at will." The dark woman responded.

"Well, I suppose that would account for his low power-level. He does have the typical saiyan hair color after all, and the people seem to recognize him as their champion." The Jade emperor rubbed his chin for a moment. "Very well. Let's see, who to send…" he looked around at his honor guard. "Aquamarine, you haven't had the chance to fight in some time. How would you like to test your skills against this slayer of frost demons? This planet has quite a bit of water so you can really stretch your gills."

A blue-scaled woman, with fins for ears and a fin mohawk that extended all the way to her mid back, bowed low. She wore the same bright green armor which covered her chest but exposed her midriff. She wore a kind of long, white skirt, that had a slit on both sides. Her feet were bare, though she sported a set of fins at her ankles as well as a pair at her wrists.

"It would be my pleasure my lord." Then she rose and headed for the exit.

"Be careful, he's supposed to be a super saiyan, like Broly. Oh, and remember my dear. Try not to kill him."

Outside the ship, Hercule was still taunting the hunk of floating metal.

"HA! YOU YELLA BELLIED COWARDS AINT EVEN BRAVE ENOUGH TO FACE THE WORLD MARTIAL ARTS CHAMPION!? GET ON OUT HERE SO I CAN TEACH YA SOME MANNERS!"

As soon as he said this, a hatch opened to the ship. Aquamarine floated out and towards Hercule. She looked at the man with a cautious eye. According to their files, Frieza at 100% had a power level of about 120 million. King cold in his normal form was a little above his son. If this warrior really defeated both of them then he was truly a warrior worth fighting. Of course, she far outclassed Frieza, but who knows how much stronger this man was than the frost tyrants. Not to mention he's had 4 years to train. Her blood was boiling with excitement just thinking about it.

Hercule surveyed his opponent with contempt. "HA! First, they keep me waiting, then they send out a woman to fight me? What kind of invasion is this?" As he was mocking his opponent, images of the two warriors appeared globally across the sky as if a million theater screens were plastered over the clouds.

Aquamarine frowned. Truly this was a cunning warrior. Clearly, he was trying to play mind games with her. No matter. She would not fall for his tricks. She would just remain calm and analyze him.

"What? Cat got your tongue? Or are you just so scared of my mighty awesomeness that you've become speechless? BAHAHAHA!"

Just ignore him, he's clearly baiting you. He's keeping his power low now, but as soon as I attack, he'll get me by surprise, well, that won't happen!

"Come on! Here fishy, fishy, fishy! I got something to say to your mother!" Hercule sucked in his cheeks and pushed out his lips while putting his hands up to is head. He looked like he was imitating a gold fish as he opened and closed his lips and flapped his hands against his ears.

"THAT DOES IT!" Aquamarine moved so fast, Hercule never saw it coming. She drove an upper cut into his gut and sent him flying down off the building. The crowd that was witnessing this and screamed in horror as their beloved hero was plummeting to his doom.

Hercule was speeding toward the ground at terminal velocity. Gohan saw this and left Erasa to fly and try to catch Mr. Satan. Even at full speed though, he wasn't going to make it. But then, a miracle happened. Just inches above the street, Hercule stopped himself. Everyone gasped at the development. He was floating. No, he was flying!

"YYYYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHH!"

The crowd erupted twice as loud as before.

Gohan stopped mid-flight in surprise. "Oh, wow, I guess he actually learned to fly. Good for him."

"Of course, he did! I was the one teaching him after all." A gruff voice spoke in response to the kids' thoughts.

"Hey! Mr. Piccolo!" Gohan greeted his friend with enthusiasm. Then his expression turned serious once more.

"I can tell you did a great job Mr. Piccolo, but he still won't be a match for her." He said in reference to the fish-girl.

"I know. He doesn't stand a chance. But I think this will be good for him." Piccolo said seriously. "We can stand by for now and intervene when things get messy." Gohan wasn't sure about that, but he nodded his consent.

Back at the fight, after narrowly escaping death, Hercule flew back up to the top of the building and came face to face with the fish-woman. He was in serious pain and blood was trickling out of his mouth.

"Heh, I'll give you that one. But now let's see how you fair against my DYNAMITE KICK!" he launched a kick straight at the space fish's bare stomach, but she easily sidestepped. The force of his kick cut through the air like a sonic boom, shattering the surrounding windows. Hercule flailed a little in mid-air before stabilizing himself.

"Gyee!" That was close, I almost lost control there. Energy control is tough in combat.

He turned around to face his opponent, though she did not look impressed. "Ha! You may have escaped my Dynamite kick, but that was just the appetizer. Let's see how you handle the main course. He flew as fast as he could toward the fish girl and threw a series of jabs, hooks and roundhouses. He danced around his opponent while trying his best to get an advantage.

While facing the same direction, not even bothering to glance at earths' champion as he circled her, she dodged every attack as if it was thrown by a child. Hercule was growing confident that he would wear her down. After all, he was the new and improved Champ! He had powers now. He could protect the earth like he always should have. But when he threw a punch to the back of aquamarines head, she caught it without even looking. She tightened her grip around his fist as he struggled to pull away.

"Is this it?" she asked in disappointment. She spun him around to her front and, with a whipping motion, flung him to the ground below. Hercule couldn't stop himself this time. He crashed into the street, shattering the asphalt and concrete. He was in so much pain. He struggled to get up. he could hear the crowd chanting his name.

"I-I can't let them d-down." Every word took an enormous effort. "Not again." He got to his feet. The whole planet was cheering for him. He was breathing hard and trying to focus his vision, when his opponent descended.

He mustered as much bravado as he could. "Y-you think, you've beaten me?" he spat some blood on the ground. "Well, little lady, I got news for you. You aint dealin, with your average world champion anymore." He dropped to his stance "I've transcended my limits and now I've become a SUPER SATAN!"

Finally! Although, I could have sworn Master said 'super saiyan', not 'super Satan'. She shrugged must be an earth translation. The woman just smiled. "I suggest you transform then."

Hercule blanched. "Transform? I can't transform."

"What? I thought you just said you were a super saiyan, or super satan or however you backwater hillbillies pronounce it."

"Oh, well, I just meant that I'm a lot stronger than I used to be. I can fly now and everything." Hercule explained. He had thought "super Satan" sounded pretty cool.

"WHAT!" Aquamarine yelled in fury. "YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT YOU AREN'T A SUPER SAIYAN!?"

"What's that? Like kale? Or broccoli? I prefer red meat myself."

"NO, YOU BABBLING OAF!" she took a deep breath to calm down. "Are you not the warrior who defeated Frieza and king Cold 4 years ago?"

"Uh… no. I don't really know who those people are."

The temperature in the air dropped. The woman had a cold hard stare making her look more like a shark than a fish.

"I see… You dare to deceive me? To deceive my master!? You will pay most dearly for this, you insignificant worm!" Before he could react, Hercule was seized by the throat and thrown like a missile across the city, crashing through buildings and landing on a street a mile away.

"I was looking forward to a battle with a TRUE warrior! Not some puffed up clown who can barely manage his own energy!" She appeared on top of him and stomped on his chest. Then she kicked him through several more buildings.

"Do you know how long I've waited for a challenge!?" She stomped toward him. "And when my liege finally gives me leave to test my strength, I get a lowly pathetic life form! Do you have any idea how galling that is!?" She was charged an icy blue ball of energy and launched it at the fallen warrior.

To her surprise, a beam of light drove it off course. She didn't have to look around for the source, however. A young, dark haired, boy and a namekian landed next to the earths champion.

"And, who might you two be?" she asked in annoyance.

"I'm Son Gohan, and I won't let you hurt this man anymore! I'll be your opponent from now on!" He dropped to his stance when a hand grabbed his ankle.

"N-no." Hercule said weakly. "P-please… Let me do this." He tried to lift himself up. He got as far as his hands and knees, but fell back down.

"Mr. Satan, you can't keep fighting!" Gohan tried to be as forceful as he could. "She'll kill you if you keep going."

Hercule smiled into the ground as he tried again to get up. "Heh, what do you know? You're just a kid. I'm Hercule Satan, the champ. I-I'm the one who should be protectin our world, not you." He managed to get to his elbows and knees without collapsing.

"Mister Satan, stay down! You don't have any thing to prove!" Gohan yelled

"The kid's right." Piccolo said "You've done enough."

"N-not to contradict you sir, but no I haven't." He managed to get one knee up. "If I give up now, how am I gonna live with myself? How will I face my daughter? I can't go home until I've given everything I had. When I've given all I got to this world..." He managed to get to his feet. "That's when I've done enough."

"MR. SATAN! STAY DOWN!" Gohan screamed his order.

"Sorry kid, but it's Hercule ta you." Then he started walking shakily forward. "And sir," He turned to Piccolo. "Thanks for everythin you taught me. Sorry I won't be able to use it long."

Piccolo closed his eyes. "No problem. Hercule."

Hercule smiled. "That's the first time you ever called me by my name." Piccolo stayed silent and Hercule started moving forward again, still shaky, but with renewed strength welling up inside of him.

Aquamarine, who had just been standing there watching the scene unfold, smirked.

"Perhaps you are a warrior after all. Allow me to grant you a warriors death." She held out her hand and a 6-foot javelin of ice materialized.

"Thanks for the kindness." Hercule said as sarcastically as he could. "But before I go, I have a little something for ya." He got within a few feet of the fish-woman. "YOU FORGOT ABOUT YOUR DESSERT!" He reeled back his fist as he put every last bit of energy he could muster into it. "MEGAATOOOON…PUUUUUNCH!"

He let his punch fly with everything he had. Miraculously, it connected to the scaly face of his adversary. A shockwave erupted that shattered the concrete beneath his feet, as well as every window for three miles. The champ smiled one final time, satisfied that his gambit worked.

But it hadn't. Aquamarines' face had been turned by the force of the punch, but nothing more than that. She turned her head forward again. "Impressive." She complemented.

Hercules eyes rolled into the back of his head as his legs gave out from under him. As he fell to the ground he whispered. "D-darn it." And he lay prone, at the mercy of Aquamarine.

"DON'T TOUCH HIM!" Gohan screamed and launched himself to protect the fallen warrior. The Fish woman raised her ice javelin over Hercule. "STOP IT!" Gohan continued speeding towards her. She brought the javelin down, piercing straight through the heart of the world champion. Gohan stopped. The world stopped. Not a single person could believe what just happened.

Gohan stood there in shock as the alien pulled her spear out of the body of the dead warrior.

"So, who's next?" the fish-girl asked

End chapter.

A/N: WHAAAT!? Ok, a few things. When Broly is talking about galaxies and planets, I figured that if there used to be a supreme kai for each direction, then they probably each had a grand kai for each direction, who in turn, had a kai for every direction. That might not be canon, but it's how I'm dividing it up. So the Jade emperor has been conquering in more than just the south galaxy and has only stayed away from King Kais' galaxy because of the power that King cold possessed (In this history, Cold can transform and receives similar power boosts, per form, as his son did). I wrote Hercule to be similar to how he acted in the Cell saga since he has received a power boost and would think he doesn't have to hide anymore because he can hang with the big boys. Unfortunately, The man was mistaken. I always appreciate the comments that let me know what you like, or don't like, about the way I do the story. Let me know what you think. Thanks again for reading! you guys rock!
