Chapter 59

"T-Trunks?" Goten couldn't understand why his friend would do something like this. Trunks looked at Goten with an expression of forced apathy, but when he saw the face of his younger friend, he couldn't help but turn his head away.

"Trunks, what did you do!? Why did you hurt Mr. Moori?"

Trunks didn't answer, continuing to avoid eye contact with Goten.

"Trunks happens to know what being a real Saiyan means." Turles answered in his stead. "Yashimo was finally able to undo their little hiding spell, and we thought we'd introduce ourselves. Of course, based on their attitudes, we didn't think that the Namekians would let me make my wish, so we resorted to a little… coercion. Our little prince has proved his loyalty. Now prove yours by staying out of the way."

Goten shot Turles a look of absolute fury "The Namekians are peaceful!" He shouted. "They're friends, and they were already going to help us! Mr. Moori even told us how to find the dragon balls, but you went and hurt them! You're a bully!"

"If they're our friends, then why didn't they give us the dragon balls in the first place?" Trunks asked quietly. "Why did they hide? Why'd they make it so hard when all we wanted to do was bring our dad's back?"

"What?" Goten could not understand Trunks' line of thinking. In his mind, Moori had given them plenty of help. "Trunks, what are you talking about? Mr. Moori said he would let us make our wishes."

"Lord Turles, Goten's right. We don't have to do this." Nazz finally spoke up. "The old guy promised that he'd let us use the dragon balls if we found them. He wants to help bring the kids' dads back."

"He didn't say that!" Trunks insisted. "He said that we had to find the dragon balls, but he never said he'd help us use them! He just wanted to trick us so they could use them all for themselves!"

"They wouldn't do that, Trunks!" Goten shot back. "This is Dende's family, and Dende's never done anything like tricking us, or lying!"

"How do you know, huh!? My mom said Piccolo used to be evil, so how do we know that these Namekians aren't evil too? Your just being naïve and stupid, Goten." Trunks explained.

Goten's cheeks grew red. "GrrrYOU'RE THE ONE BEING STUPID!"

Trunks looked as if he'd been slapped at first. Goten had never spoken to him like that before, always following the older boy's lead. His surprise was followed by anger. He was about to throw an insult back at Goten, but he was cut off with a word from Turles.

"Enough." The Saiyan leader raised his hand. "Not that your little debate isn't thrilling, but we have more important matters to attend to." He knelt down and lifted Moori's head.

"Don't touch him!" Yelled one of the Namekian children.

"Shut it, brat!" Goyan raised a hand full of energy and aimed at the child. The young Namekian retreated, hugging onto an adult, and Goyan just smirked.

"Not yet, Goyan." Turles ordered, and Goyan reluctantly stood down.

"So, about my wish." Turles spoke with deadly calm, eyeing the grand elder like a cobra looks at a mouse.

"W-why?" Moori grunted. "Why are you doing this? The boy has already proven himself worthy. The dragon would have already brought back his loved ones if not for your actions."

"What makes you think I'm interested in his loved ones?" Turles replied with a light chuckle.

Trunks tilted his head in confusion at Turles' words. Did this mean he wasn't going to wish Goten's dad back? He knew Goten had annoyed him, but that seemed a little harsh after all they'd been through. Maybe he should explain that this dragon could grant three wishes. Then he might reconsider. Many of the other Saiyans were just as confused by their ruler's words as Trunks was. They thought that the whole point of coming here was to bring back the fallen Saiyans, maybe even their entire race. After that, they could use Namek to plant a tree.

Unlike Trunks and the other Saiyans, Moori understood the pirate's words perfectly. He growled at the man who had him at his mercy, before he closed his eyes and smiled disdainfully. "I see. You, like so many fools before you, hope to use the dragon for your own delusions of grandeur."

"With you at my mercy, I wouldn't call immortality a delusion." Turles replied.

""What!"" The shout came from every Saiyan, including Goten and Trunks.

"That's right my friends." The leader nodded. "Immortality. With a few more harvests I will have reached the pinnacle of strength. Not even the gods of destruction will be able to match me. Wouldn't it be a shame if all that power just vanished because of a pesky thing like death?"

"I see." Yashimo nodded with the eyes of a zealot. "Yes. Lord Turles, ruler of all creation."

"Has a nice ring to it." Goyan cackled.

"The Saiyans would finally be back on top, right where we belong." Sage nodded.

"And the rest of us?" Lomen asked with furrowed brow. "Do you plan to share this power with your people? And what of the boys' fathers?"

"Their fathers…" Turles thought for a moment, before a satisfied grin crossed his face. "Can rot for all I care."

"WHAT!" Goten yelled.

"YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" Trunks shouted. "TH-THAT'S NOT FAIR!"

Turles didn't even spare them a glance. "I see no point in resurrecting fools who couldn't keep themselves alive in the first place." 'Or in bringing back super Saiyans who could challenge my rule.' "As for you, my loyal Saiyan brethren, when I am immortal, of course you will share in the spoils of the Saiyan empire. You will be kings and queens, and your progeny will inherit all your glory when you're gone."

The Saiyans realized what he was saying. Rhubub spoke up with disapproval in his eyes. "So only you get to be immortal then? We're nothing more than your servants in this new order?"

"Trying to usurp power Rhubub?" Goyan sneered. "We all know you'd love to be upgraded from number two."

"As opposed to dead last, like you?" Rhubub shot back, making Goyan scowl.

"No Saiyan but Turles is worthy to obtain immortality!" Yashimo sounded scandalized by the notion that his master would need to share his rule beyond what he already promised.

"Besides, you have to admit that if more than one Saiyan was immortal, the potential conflict could be endless." Sage reasoned. "Why divide the power like that when Lord Turles is the perfect ruler. He brought us all back together, he-"

"He's not going to promote you just because you keep licking his boots." Kalif cut him off. She didn't care for the stunt that Turles had just pulled. Not that she wanted immortality personally. What was the fun of fighting without the thrill of a near death experience? However, she was annoyed by how he led them on like he did. She had many friends that were killed by Frieza, and she was hopeful that the dragon balls could be used to bring them back. Now he tells them that he's using them to lord his power over them forever, so no Saiyan will ever be able to challenge him? In her opinion, that was just plain cowardly. She didn't like the idea of her, and all her descendants being under the rule of anybody with no hope of change. Even if it was a Saiyan. "Anyway, why not just let us wish all the Saiyans back first? Then you can use the Dragon balls again later.""

The fact that Kalif and Rhubub were speaking up made the others bolder. Many of the Saiyans started raising their own objections. Shouting started to ensue, with Trunks, Goten, and even Nazz making their protests known the loudest. Turles was growing tired of having his authority questioned. He had rekindled the Saiyan race. He had brought their strength past unheard of horizons with his fruit. He was the strongest, and he would not be questioned at the moment of his supreme triumph.

"Silence!" The Saiyan roared, and despite their objections, they obeyed.

"I can see that my plan has some dissenters, so let's make this fair. If any of you want to challenge me for the wish, I'll gladly accept. Any takers? Kalif? Rhubub?"

Both Saiyans turned their heads away.

"No? What about you, Lomen? You think you can take the wish from me?"

The old Saiyan sighed. "Nobody's questioning your strength. Merely your judgement."

"To a Saiyan, the two are the same." Turles stated before he looked at Trunks, that at Goten,

"And you? Do either of you think you can beat me?"

Trunks, and even Goten had nothing to say to this. They both knew that Turles was far above them in power.

"Then we're all agreed. The immortality is mine."

"Hehehe." A soft chuckle drew Turles' attention to the prone elder Namekian.

"And what do you find so funny, Namekian?"

Moori smiled maliciously. "You speak as if the wish is yours for the taking. You truly are a fool if you believe that I will summon the dragon for one such as you."

"One such as me?" In one swift motion, Turles grabbed the elder by the neck and held him aloft, squeezing his throat just enough to not kill him. "One such as me is very good at getting what I want."

"N-not," Moori gasped, "from me."

"Elder!" Several of the Namekians cried out for their leader. One of the youngest started forward, but Moori stopped him.

"No!" Raising his hand, he sent a burst of wind that pushed the child back.

"Put him down, you bully!" Goten demanded.

"One more word out of you, and you'll see how much of a bully I can be." Turles glared at the boy.

"Goten, come on, just let it go." Nazz placed a hand on his shoulder, but Goten jerked away from her.

"Not until he lets him go!"

"Stop…" Moori struggled to breath. He did not fear death, and knew once he perished, the Saiyan would not get what he wanted. But he did fear for the innocent. "Let… him… Do it."

Turles looked from Moori, to Goten, then to the crowd of Namekians, and he realized something. "You know, it's been so long since I've done this, I'm a little rusty." He threw Moori into the other Namekians, who caught him and tended to him as he coughed for air. "I almost forgot the best way to go about these things. You sentimental types are easier to manipulate than you seem. Goyan!"

"Yes, lord Turles?"

"Until the old man summons the dragon, kill one Namekian for every minute that passes."

"What!?" Moori panicked.

"NO!" Goten yelled.

As the older Namekians did their best to shield the younger ones from the Saiyans, Trunks stood motionless, too stunned to speak. He'd never imagined they'd have to kill anyone. He thought they'd just scare them enough to make them summon the dragon.

"Oh goody." Goyan cracked his knuckles.

"H-hey, boss?" Nazz tried one last time. She knew her people could be ruthless, but these people weren't even fighting back. "Are you sure this is really necessary?"

"What's wrong, Nazz? Squeamish about stepping on some slugs?" Turles jeered. "Don't worry, Goyan lives for this sort of thing. And I'm sure he'd love to start with…" The Saiyan scanned the crowd for the first target. "That one." His finger landed on the smallest Namekian that had spoken out before.

"Oh, good insight boss." Goyan cackled. "You're right, that is the one I would have chosen." In a flash, he grabbed the child and held him up, laughing as he struggled to break free. He kicked back the adults that tried to help the young one, nothing they did could save him.

"Say good night little slug." He held one hand up high ready to strike, savoring the moment, when…

*CHOMP*

"GYEEEEEE!" The sharp pain in his forearm caused Goyan to squeal in pain, dropping the Namekian and flailing his arm around. Acting on instinct, Goten moved at top speed and bit the ugly Saiyan as hard as he could. He now swung around at the end of Goyan's arm, refusing to release his crocodilian hold on the thug.

"GYAH! Get! Off! ME!" Goyan finally used his head, and grabbed the wrist biter with his other hand, tearing him off with his superior strength, before spiking him into the ground.

Goten slammed against the dirt, but quickly rolled to his feet, positioning himself between the Namekians and the Saiyans.

"Gah, you little wretch! You'll pay for that!"

"You won't hurt any of them while I'm around!" Goten declared. He knew he was far weaker than any of the Saiyans. But he also knew that the Namekians were weaker than him. He was the only one who could protect them. He wished his brother was here, but he knew that if he was, he wouldn't let a single innocent be harmed. So, neither would he.

"Goten, what are you doing!?" Nazz yelled. She didn't want to see the Namekian kid slaughtered either, but Turles wasn't playing around anymore. "You're going to get yourself killed!"

"If that's what it takes to make you bullies stop, then fine by me!"

Nazz couldn't understand why this kid was standing up to them over some Namekians. None of the Saiyans could. Nevertheless, his actions couldn't help but elicit a spark of respect, and even sympathy from the others. Unfortunately, Turles and Goyan were not in that number.

"Goyan. It looks like this one is a slow learner." Turles had finally lost his patience. "Teach him how Saiyans establish the hierarchy."

Goyan grinned. "With pleasure."

Break

Wind blew through the hilly landscape and waves crashed against the shore. Goyan walked toward Goten while massaging the place where the boy had bitten him.

"Your daddy obviously never taught you how to respect a superior Saiyan." He taunted. "Let me show you how our race teaches discipline!" He charged the boy, and Goten brought up his guard, only to be violently launched forward by a kick to his back. He ploughed through several meters of ground before he rolled to a stop. Motionless on the ground, Goyan started to laugh at the child.

"Kekeke! Is that all you've got? I was expecting more from such big talk."

In response, Goten's arm moved, pressing a hand on the ground to force himself up. Back on his feet, he glared at Goyan.

"HAAAAAAAH!" Goten charged his opponent at full speed, but the Saiyan vanished, only to reappear from above, stomping the boy into the ground.

"Give up yet, runt?" The brute said.

"GrrrNO!" It took all his strength, but he managed to push himself up and roll away from the enemy. He rounded on Goyan and charged again, but the same result happened, and he found himself once more face down in the dirt.

"Turles was right, you are a slow learner." The man was taking pleasure in humiliating the kid. While the other Saiyans watched, some were entertained, while others were ashamed by the older fighter. Sure, Saiyans would routinely beat on the younger generations, but it was to make them stronger, not to humiliate them. No true Saiyan would feel proud that they could outmatch a child. Lomen shook his head, secretly hoping that the boy would at least be able to land a solid hit.

Regardless of their personal feelings, Turles was right about one thing. Saiyans were incredibly hierarchical. The young warrior did need to be shown his place in that hierarchy for one thing, but even if they wanted to, no Saiyan would dare oppose the will of the one at the top of that hierarchy, unless they possessed the strength to challenge him. None of them even came close to Turles, so all they could do was watch as Goten continued to charge, miss, and suffer from Goyan's brutal counter attacks.

Goten forced himself from the dirt for the twelfth time, only to be kicked in the stomach like a soccer ball. He rolled to a stop, clenching his belly.

"Awe, what's wrong brat? Got a tummy ache?"

The taunt riled Goten enough to jump to his feet. "Yeah, your smelly arm made me sick!"

"What!? H-How dare you!?"

"HAHAHA! Nice one kid!" A middle aged Saiyan with a ponytail and a laid back expression cheered the boy. A few other Saiyans chuckled as well, causing Goyan to become enraged.

"Oh, you've done it now, brat. I was just going to have some fun with you, but now you're gonna wish you were never born!"

"Your face is enough to do that, ugly!"

"Hoho man!" A young Saiyan with a mischievous grin named Quillin laughed. "Don't kill him Goyan, I'm starting to like him!"

"Shut up! All of you!" Goyan yelled at the crowd.

"Woah, don't take your eyes off him, he's gonna get ya." Chokly pointed with a grin.

Goyan looked and sure enough, Goten was charging him again.

"Little brat." He snarled. "I'll teach you to make a fool of me."

He sent a powerful kick to the boys midsection, but the attack just passed through the image. Goyan was stunned, unsure of what had just happened and where the boy went. He discovered the answer as he heard a strange chant from up above.

"Kaaaameeeehaaaaaaaaaameeeeeeeeeee…"

The ape faced Saiyan looked up, but saw nothing in the glare of the sun. He squinted, and thought he saw a small, dark outline and a twinkling light next to it.

"HAAAAAAA!" Goten released his attack at full power directly at his opponent. He knew from what Gohan had told him that this attack would be able to increase his power. He didn't know by how much, but maybe it would be enough to take out the Saiyan thug.

Due to the light of the sun, said thug had no idea what was even coming at him until it was too late. He found himself consumed by intense blue light, and his skin burned from the attack. Goten landed, once again placing himself between the Saiyans and the Namekians, who cheered for the little boy who was defending them. He couldn't help but smile at his handy work.

'Looks like all that training with Gohan and Zangya is paying off.'

The smile faded when the dust cleared to reveal Goyan, singed and dusty, but unharmed.

"That does it." Goyan seethed. He had let this kid get the better of him, humiliating him in front of the other Saiyans. He wouldn't be playing defense anymore. It was time to show this brat what a real Saiyan could do.

Goten was disappointed, but maybe the attack had hurt him enough to slow him down. He started his charge, but before he could take a step, a knee was driven deep into his gut. Goyan followed up his attack with a hammer fist to the kid's back, driving him deep into the ground. He reached into the hole and yanked the boy out, tossing him in the air like a rag doll. He met Goten in the sky, hitting him back down, intercepting him and hitting away again.

From below, it looked like a fly was buzzing around wildly, playing tennis by itself.

"Lord Turles, come on!" Nazz tried to appeal to their alpha. "Just tell Goyan to stop. The kid's learned his lesson."

"I'll be the judge of that." Turles stood with folded arms, surveying the fight with a strange sense of amusement.

Finally, Goyan spiked his victim with both fists, sending him crashing into the ground. Everyone thought that was the end of it. Goten made an attempt to move, even to flip himself over to his back, but he couldn't even manage that.

"Come on…" Muttered Lomen. "Get up."

"Stay down." Whispered Nazz. "Just stay down."

Goten kept trying to get up, even managing to make it to his hands and knees. Unfortunately, His opponent wasn't in the mood to be charitable. As soon as the thug landed, he marched over to the kid and pulled him up by his shirt.

"So, I'm smelly, am I?" he slapped Goten with a deafening crack. "How's that smell?" he double slapped his victim. "You think I'm ugly? Just wait." He continued slapping Goten across the face. "When I'm done with you, I'll look like a hunk in comparison!"

The brutal, savage blows continued to strike across the child's face. Deciding that the time had come to end this match, Rhubub and Lomen took a step forward, only to be stopped by the hand of Turles.

"Alright Goyan, just a a little longer. A few more slaps to make sure he remembers his lesson." The boss decided that he may as well stop it himself. The fight ceased to be entertaining when the kid stopped fighting back.

"STOP THIS!" Moori yelled, earning the Saiyans' attention, minus Goyan. "How can you treat a child this way!? Isn't he one of your own!?"

Turles tilted his head. "This is as much your doing as it is mine. I see no reason to prolong the boy's suffering. Of course, if I don't get what I want, maybe I'll let Goyan keep going."

Moori looked at his people, then to the brave boy who was being beaten for their sake. He gritted his teeth, about to give an answer, but he was stopped.

"N-No." Goten struggled to speak through his swollen face and Goyan stopped his slapping. Looking at Moori with determination in his eyes, he spoke again. "Don't you d-dare let him d-do it."

"Works for me." Smiled Goyan. "The longer they wait, the more fun I get to have. You know, you're not such a bad punching bag."

He continued his ruthless attack against the defenseless boy, mixing in punches to the gut in with his face slaps.

"S-Stop it…" The trembling voice made Turles look down at his side. Trunks was shaking with clenched fists, and tears were streaming down his face. "Stop hurting him. None of this is his fault. It's mine. Just stop hitting him."

"You wanted to be a Saiyan, boy." Turles shrugged. "This is how we do things."

Trunks shook his head. "I don't care. Stop it."

Goyan kept slapping.

"Stop it!"

The pounding continued.

"I SAID STOP IIIIIIITTTTTTT!" Trunks flew forward, charging his friend's tormentor with fists ready to strike. "LET HIM GOOOOO!"

Goyan saw Trunks coming and dropped Goten. He grinned with wicked glee as he readied his fist to strike the arrogant brat.

"T-trunks?" Seeing his friend coming toward them brought a small smile to his face, and he tried to stand up to join in the attack. But before he got to his feet, Goyan had met the young royal, and clobbered him with a powerful right hook.

Things went in slow motion for Goten as he saw Trunks fly threw the air and land motionless on the ground.

"Huh…"Goyan said looking at his fist. "I hit him harder cuz I thought he'd be stronger. Didn't realize he was the weaker of the two. Some prince, eh?" He laughed.

"Trunks…" Goten called out again, but the boy didn't move. Crawling to his prone friend, he thought the worst. Finally reaching him, the younger Saiyan shook his friend. "Hey, come on. Get up Trunks. W-we can take him together."

But the still body refused to answer, or even wake.

"Oh, dear." Goyan said with mock concern. "I hope I didn't kill him. That would really be a shame. Though, I guess he can join his loser father, right? Kakakaka!"

Tears fell freely from Goten's eyes onto his friend's body. Then, suddenly, the words of Goyan awoke something in Goten that he had never felt before. He had been mad before. He had even been furious. But never before had he felt such intense, primal rage. He felt his heart trying to break out of his chest, his ears were pounding, and his vision became red as the image of Trunks slowly faded into a blur. Power fluctuated wildly, as wind swirled around the little boy.

"Rhubub, do you feel that?" Kalif asked her counterpart.

"Yeah." He nodded. "I didn't think the kid had any energy left. Where's all this coming from?"

Ignorant of the energy that was building, Goyan casually walked toward Goten, now in a much better mood than before. "What's the matter, brat. We get to continue our little game now."

"HRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

A storm erupted, nearly blowing Goyan back as he was blinded by a golden flash of light. The smaller Saiyan's energy grew exponentially, multiplying his power beyond anything that should have been possible without the fruit of the tree of might.

When the light died down, Goten stood over Trunks, trembling from the rage he was containing. His hair was golden, with his spikes shooting straight up. His eyes were blue, electrifying and vivid, as they shot Goyan a furious look.

"What is this?" He asked in bafflement. "Some sort of half-breed trick? Well, I'm not falling for iKHAAAAAAAHHHH!"

With far greater speed than he ever could have before, Goten rammed his fist into Goyan's stomach, knocking the wind out of his enemy. He jumped up and brought his fist with him in a jaw shattering uppercut that sent the ape faced monster tumbling through the air, landing at the feet of Turles.

"W-what the hell?" Goyan scrambled to sit up. "W-what happened to you? How did you get this strong!?"

The Saiyans stared at Goten in his new form with expressions of awe and confusion. Some of them thought, like Goyan, that this was some hybrid ability of Goten's. Only Turles and Lomen knew, or guessed, what this transformation truly was.

"Answer me brat!" Goyan shouted. "What are you!?"

"It… It must be the legend." Lomen Stated with awe.

"He's…" Turles started with a frown.

"A super Saiyan." Moori finished.

Break

"He's what!?" Goyan shouted in panic. "No, he can't be! That's just a myth. How could a brat like that become a-"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"

Goten cut him off with a terrible roar that shook the planet. He flew at Goyan and carried him into the sky on his fists, machine gunning his punches right into the ugly man's abdomen.

"HAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA!" The young super Saiyan yelled with each hit. He spun into a kick that hit Goyan's ribs. He followed up with a barrage of Ki blasts, that overwhelmed and forced his opponent back. Then, bringing his hands to his side, he chanted the only attack he knew. "KaameehaaaameeeeHAAAAAAAA!"

The attack came at Goyan, but unlike the last one, he didn't know if he could just shrug it off. He put his hands up and tried to catch it. The beam pushed him back through the air slowly, until his back was up against a cliff wall. Goten poured his energy, his rage, his grief, everything into the attack. The super Saiyan multiplier was bolstered by the intense emotion, and even Goyan could do nothing against such an attack. Unable to resist any longer, the adult Saiyan let the blast wash over him, feeling pain more intense than anything he thought the boy could have inflicted. The wave destroyed the rock formation behind him, and when the energy dissipated, Goyan's body was smoldering, and he had burn marks all over his skin.

Both fighters hung in the air, breathing heavily as they stared each other down. Goten was the first to recover, and with a shout, continued his pursuit of the enemy. He rammed into the thuggish Saiyan and started pouring on punches and kicks as fast as he possibly could.

From below, the Saiyans watched in amazement as the little kid was actually pushing Goyan.

"So… This is the power of a super Saiyan." Rhubub said in amazement. "It's like watching a completely different fighter up there."

"To think a child is able to handle such raw power all at once." Kalif pondered.

"Too bad it won't be enough to win." Lomen said.

Lomen's words proved to be true. While the transformation gave Goten an incredible energy boost, along with his rage inflating his power exponentially, the initial difference in power was too great to be overcome. Goyan had been afraid at first, then the increased strength of the boy surprised him to the point that he couldn't even fight back. Now, however, the shock had worn off, and he was starting to realize that Goten's fists were not as painful as he'd thought they'd be. His movements were still slow enough for him to easily counter, and his energy, though impossibly high for a kid, was still nothing compared to his own power.

Goyan caught a little fist aimed at his face, shocking Goten. The boy grit his teeth and punched again, but this one was caught as well. The smaller Saiyan looked at his larger opponent and noticed a grin was slowly starting to spread across his features.

"Who'd have guessed it. I'm stronger than a super Saiyan." He jeered as Goten struggled to escape the man's grip. "You surprised me, but it looks like the fruit is superior to the legend after all. Super Saiyan? Kukuku. You can keep it."

Tightening his grip on Goten, he spun him around before flinging him into the ground. Goten flew out of the crater at the Saiyan, but Goyan easily moved out of the way. When the boy came back around, Goyan was easily able to block his assault. "How did I not see how slow you were!?" He kicked Goten in the head, but the boy kept coming. "Not quite, brat!" he dodged a spinning back elbow to the temple. "Let me show you how it's done!"

Mimicking Goten's attack, he spun and landed his elbow on Goten's skull with a loud crack. The Saiyan hybrid fell back, but Goyan wasn't going to let him get away. Just as the boy had done to him, he threw endless punches into his midsection with the speed of a machinegun, finishing his assault with an axe kick.

The boy crashed through a mountain and landed in a heap surrounded by rubble. He got up shakily, cupping his hands at his side for one last attack.

"Oh, brother, not that trick again." Goyan rolled his eyes and smiled. "Let me show you what a real Saiyan attack looks like." He thrust his palm out straight and formed a ball of energy that continued to grow. As Goten released his wave, Goyan fired his blast and the two met midair. While Goten was putting all his strength into the beam, he had already spent a lot of energy in the fight, and his rage was giving way to fatigue and pain. On the other hand, Goyan was clearly holding back just enough to let the kid struggle.

"Alright, ready or not, hear it comes!" Goyan pulled his palm back, before jabbing it forward, sending a pulse of energy down his beam and it immediately started to force back the Kamehameha. Goten struggled, but his efforts were in vain. The attack had almost reached him, then he cut his losses and jumped away, only to be carried away on the wave of energy the explosion created. Goyan appeared from above and grabbed the boy in a chokehold, flying him all the way back to where they started so the other Saiyans could see him finish off the super Saiyan.

With a kick, he punted the boy and he landed hard in front of the Namekians. Goten rolled to his feet, only to gasp in pain when a beam hit his shoulder.

"GAH!" The young fighter grabbed his smoking shoulder, then another hit his knee, and another hit his face.

"HAHAHA! Come on super Saiyan! I was trying to make you dance!" Moving his hands like pistons, his fingers sent thin beams of ki at Goten until every inch of him had been hit. The energy accumulated and expanded into a single explosion that blasted the nearby Namekians backwards. The smoke cleared, and Goten was face down in a massive crater, black smoke rolling off his body.

"Kekeke. I guess that's all she wrote for the super Saiyan. Maybe I got carried away…" He paused, then laughed. "No, the half breed had it coming. That was fun though. Now to cool down with a few Namekians. Right boss?"

"N-not… Ye-et." Goyan's, along with every other Saiyan's eyebrows rose when they saw Goten stirring. None of them had seen a child take such punishment and still get up for more.

Goten new it was no use. He wasn't strong enough. He'd become a super Saiyan like his brother, but he still wasn't strong enough. Despite his failings, he knew he had to fight. So, Goten stood. His arms were limp, eyes barely open, but he stood.

"Goten, stop!" Nazz yelled in distress. "Just stand down! You're not gonna beat him."

Goten turned his tired gaze on the woman he thought was his friend. Betrayal, disappointment, resentment. All of these came like a wave, washing over Nazz and making her grimace at his expression. The young warrior turned his attention back to Goyan, who was grinning sadistically. In a wordless challenge, Goten exerted the rest of his strength to bring his fists up, determined to do what he had to in order to finish what he'd started.

"Kekeke! The little brat really wants to die." Goyan chuckled. "Looks like I get to kill a super Saiyan today!"

At this, Nazz lurched forward, but was pulled back, a powerful hand keeping her in place. She looked up at Turles, who had a strange expression on his face.

"Lord Turles, you have to stop this!" She yelled. "He's gonna kill the kid!"

"The boy made his choice." Turles stated remorselessly. "At least this way he will have the honor of dying like a Saiyan."

Goyan looked behind him to grin at his boss, then looked back to the little super Saiyan. "Well, you heard him brat. Time for you do die like a Saiyan!" The ugly man lunged at the child, closing the gap in an instant. Goten was too tired to fight. Too tired to move. All he could do was stand there with fists raised in defense of those weaker than himself. Just like his brother would have done. This thought brought an odd satisfaction to the 4-year old's mind as he braced for the impact.

But the impact never came. For some strange reason, Goyan's fist had missed the mark, creating nothing but a gust of wind as it blew past Goten. Goten didn't understand how the Saiyan could have missed, until his gaze dropped to the ground. Only a few feet in front of him lay a pair of hands, cut at the wrists. In his battered state, Goten couldn't register what this meant, but he heard a loud cry of pain come from behind him.

"GRYAAAAAAAHHHH! MY HAAAAANNDSSS!" Goyan held his two stumps aloft before tucking them in to his armpits, trying the only thing he could think of to stem the bleeding.

'His… Hands?' Stumbling, barely able to keep his feet under him, the youngest Saiyan turned around to see what was going on. His view was blocked by a pair of white harem pants. Following the legs up he saw a large broad sword in a green hand and finally, his eyes rested on the gentle green features of a goddess beneath a cloud of vibrant, almost ethereal red hair.

"Oh… Good." Goten managed to get the words out. With a smile on his face, he let himself fall back. Zangya quickly knelt down to catch him, extreme concern evident in her eyes. She looked over the boy to make sure he was still alive, and sighed in relief when she felt his heart still beating. Tears formed as she took in his bruised and broken form. Several drops fell on her young friends face as she extended her fingers to wrap him in her psycho threads, transferring as much of her energy as he could safely handle.

She then looked over and saw Trunks unmoving body. She stabbed her sword into the ground, then stood up and carried Goten with her to check on Trunks. Kneeling down, she verified that he too was alive, though he looked like his neck may have been broken. She looked around and saw the Namekians. Using her psycho threads to minimize body movement on Trunks, she lifted him up and carried both children over to Moori. She set Trunks down without jostling his body, then placed Goten next to his friend as gently as possible. Zangya looked into Moori's eyes with a pleading expression. Moori looked back, and an understanding passed between the two. Moori nodded and The Hera gave him a small smile before she wiped her eyes. Having made sure the boys would get the care they needed, she turned to look at the Saiyans. Suddenly, a feeling of disgust and loathing filled her whole being. She opened her mouth to speak, but before she did, a cry from the other direction rang out.

"GRAH! YOU B****" Goyan cursed at Zangya. "I'LL KILL YOU FOR TAKING MY HANDS FROM ME!"

Zangya spun around to face the monster who had hurt her friend. A feral expression marred her features. She no longer looked like a goddess. Her narrowed, bloodshot eyes and bared teeth gave her the appearance of a demon.

"Oh, you think I'd be scared by your ugly mug!? You-" Goyan was cut off, as Zangya appeared at his side, grabbed his arm by the stump of a wrist, and slammed the ape-faced Saiyan to the ground, creating a crater and dislocating the man's shoulder.

His breath was gone from the sudden impact, and he could only stare in horror as the burning red eyes glowered down at him in his hole. She retained her grip on the wrist with one hand, while using her threads to summon the Z sword to the other, raising it high over her head with murderous intent.

"KRYAAAAA!"

With a primal scream the Hera plunged the blade into her victim's abdomen. She twisted the blade violently in both directions, eliciting cries of pain from the Saiyan warrior.

"GAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

She pulled the blade from his body before preparing for another strike. "RYAH! KYA! HAAA! HAAA! HAAAAA!"

"GRUAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Each strike pierced another part of Goyan's body. His legs, his arms, his feet, his stomach. With every stab, Zangya twisted and turned the blade, slicing and gouging off chunks of his flesh, determined to inflict as much pain as possible on the one who put the children in their current condition.

The chilling cries of their comrade finally snapped the Saiyans out of their confusion. A burly Saiyan with a braided ponytail charged the demented woman.

"Get off him you b-"

Sage's sentence was cut off, as was his head. As his body continued flying past Zangya, the head simply rolled through the grass. She turned and brought the Z sword up to guard as a dark skinned Saiyan with red armor and no eyebrows appeared behind her. He thrust out both hands, but instead of a ki blast, intense flames shot out of his palms, rolling past the blade and exploding in the Hera's face. She dropped the sword as the attack launched her backward and to the ground. The fire Saiyan, Mibatz, followed up with a giant fire ball, that Zangya managed to jump up to avoid and landed back on her feet. Mibatz charged the girl, flame in hand, while Zangya lunged at him as well. Her guard was down, and he grinned at the thought of such an easy kill. His grin vanished when he felt a pain in his back and his chest. He looked down to see the woman's sword had run him through from behind. He coughed up blood, as Zangya spun around behind him and yanked her weapon free, flinging the skewered Saiyan to the ground.

Before anymore Saiyans could come at her, she decided to go on the offensive, zeroing in on a medium sized girl with a mohawk.

Zangya approached with a speed that Nazz couldn't hope to track, and she saw her life flash in the reflection of the blade. As the weapon swung, she felt herself pushed down and saw it sail harmlessly over her face. Looking down, she saw that Chokly had tackled her to the ground. Zangya had rushed right through the group before she turned around, ready to kill every one of these monsters. The petite hybrid got up and sped toward the mad swordswoman, sidestepping a downward slash, Chokly managed to land a kick in the tall green woman's oblique.

Chokly started to zip around her opponent in a blur, attempting to utilize her speed to disorient the crazed attacker. "Who do you think you are coming out of nowhere and trying to cut up my friend, huh!?" Chokly yelled.

Zangya's eyes darted back and forth, trying to lock onto the little speedster.

"What'd we ever do to you anyway!?"

This comment only seemed to fuel the red head's fury, as she reached out with a snarl and narrowly snatched the short Saiyan by the strap of her armor. She brought her close before smashing her in the face with a headbutt. Chokly fell to the ground with a bloody nose, shaking her head before looking up to see the blade coming down to cleave her in two.

The blade stopped midair, and Chokly saw another, much taller female Saiyan had joined the fray. Her long straight hair and long-sleeved black armor told her that Kalif had come to her rescue.

Kalif's calm expression stood in stark contrast to Zangya's anger. She had caught the sword by the hilt when it was halfway through its arc and the two were now struggling to gain dominance over each other. Zangya, being slightly taller, started to use her leverage, and increasing rage, to force the blade downward inch by inch. Meanwhile, Kalif realized this was a losing struggle. She twisted her body while bringing her weight down. The sudden movement surprised Zangya as her opponent flipped her through the air, weightless. She was slammed into the ground before she rolled out of the way to keep an armored boot from stomping on her head.

She stood up, only to duck and move back, as Kalif now wielded the Z sword, and was attempting to decapitate the amazonian warrior.

"GO GET HER, KALIF!" Chokly cheered the senior female Saiyan.

"Alright! Chick fight!" A young male Saiyan with a mohawk yelled. "Take her top off!"

"Which one?" Asked Kress, a dark skinned Saiyan with a smile. He was taller than average, with long hair tied in a ponytail, and hands wrapped in bandages.

"Who cares." Soga replied. "They're both stacked!"

"Pigs." Sesamy, a medium sized female Saiyan with spiky hair, toned muscles and a pair of earrings rolled her eyes.

"Where the hell did she come from?" Nira asked. "I've never seen a female Namekian before. You think there are more?"

"Actually, she's of the Hera race."

A cold metallic voice sounded from above. Every Saiyan's eyes widened in fear, and they turned to the voice that they knew all too well. On a nearby cliff, Cooler himself stood with folded arms. He was flanked on either side by his seven lieutenants and Broly, and behind them was an army of thousands of silver Meta-Coolers.

"And yes." The cyborg frost demon continued. "There are more."

End chapter

What do you guys think of Goten becoming a super Saiyan? I tried to make it more earned than a tingly feeling on your back. I said this in the chapter, but Goten is much weaker than even the weakest Saiyan on Turles crew, being only around Frieza saga levels of strength. Meanwhile the Saiyans, due to gorging themselves on the fruit of the tree of might, are at a whole other level. You know when you get charged by a goose? You could probably just kick it, but that intimidation factor is hard to overcome. Simply put, even though Goyan outstrips Goten, Goyan got super saiyan goose rushed by Goten. Also, how do you feel about the rigid hierarchy of the Saiyans? I may have made it too extreme, but remember how Nappa obeyed Vegeta without question? You could take that a lot of ways, but I interpret that as an indication of how Saiyan society worked, where the strong have complete authority over the weak. This is one reason why Goku is so infuriating to Vegeta, as he refuses to accept the hierarchy. This is all just my interpretation. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed. Please favorite and follow if you did.

Next chapter is the battle of New Namek.
