December 16th 0 AC - Outskirts of Detroit
The Dilganese forces has made some major advances and had defeated the Leni forces in slight skirmish's on there way to Detroit, it was telling that the Leni forces were tactically retreating to Detroit and Royal Woods where they were prepared to defend to the last man or woman.
Royal Woods and Detroit which were the last strongholds of the crumbling Empire of Leni had taken a slight shelling from various Dilganese artillery strikes which had badly crippled Leni supply lines and as an result both cities were essentially running their themselves.
The Battles of Monroe and Ann Arbor had ended in crucial Dilganese victories and if the Battle of Kalamazoo ends up a success, then the Dilganese will be able to start a siege of Royal Woods.
The 17th Jefferson Division had been proven to be effective as their MS offensives in the Battle of Monroe and Ann Arbor had managed to prevent many Dilganese casualties by destroying entrenched Imperial Leni Bunker Positions as well as a few LPG units that were scattered in those places.
At the Dilganese Temporary Military Base, Monroe Michigan
Many of the Dilganese forces that had weathered the Monroe and Ann Arbor battles had awaited here for the orders to push into Detroit, for many this could be their final battle of the war before going home to their families as they awaited news on the Kalamazoo battle which was led by Captain LaRusso and Captain Lawrence who's forces has pushed through various Imperial Leni conscripts as well as many disorganised militias who were looking to take advantage of the chaos that was the leadership of the Imperial Leni Government following Supreme Leader Leni Loud's death.
The Dilganese had stopped in Monroe to resupply as well as to ensure that the Dilganese were well equipped and reinforced as they expected Detroit to be well-defended with many elite Imperial Leni units fighting to the last man and woman.
In this brief rest before the battle, many people were speaking to each other in order to raise morale and to catch up for one more time before either dying in battle or going home when they most likely win.
Haman who had lead an entire battle in a matter of days was beginning to feel the stress of it all with dark rings of exhaustion around her eyes from both the constant fighting as well as the lack of sleep from ensuring the battles were well organised.
She went outside for a smoke when a familiar face came by.
"May I join you," said Quattro
"Char, you must of been leading the right flank of Ann Arbor and Monroe," said Haman as she gave Char a cigarette
"I was, in fact I was the one who led the naval blockade against the Imperial Leni Forces, preventing our forces from being ambushed at sea," said Quattro
"The war is possibly near its end, with the destruction of the Empire of Leni, it leaves the New Titans as the last faction left to fight," said Haman
"I sense the war could be entering a new phase, but the outcome is looking like it's going in our favour," said Quattro
"The Intergalactic Research Organisation could be puppeteering the New Titans which means they still have some fight left in them and a ex-Zeon is now in their ranks," said Haman
"Who," said Quattro
"Cima Garahau," said Haman
"Cima, she was part of the Zeon marines responsible for Operation British," said Quattro
"Yeah and she is crazy which scares me," said Haman
"Even so, she is not going to fully change the ending of the war, I sense Dil Pickles is part of the future that is being built," said Quattro
"I sense a battle between Dil Pickles and Lawrence Pester, but beyond that, I can't predict anything else, it's like my Newtype senses has been clouded," said Haman
"Same, my Newtype senses have been getting weaker lately, maybe it's gravity or something else," said Quattro
"I suppose, I am worried though in terms of the war and how it's going to affect James and Mashymere," said Haman
"James is a very powerful Newtype, but he needs to keep his abilities in check or he will physically and mentally pay the price," said Quattro
"I have seen through the simulations on some of the techniques that he uses, that red aura that he used in battle combined with the sheer psychic pressure does concern me on what long-lasting effects that it could have," said Haman
"Do you remember Kamille Bidan," said Quattro
"He was the pilot of the Zeta, I remember fighting him during the Gryps War, he was your apprentice, wasn't he" said Haman
"He was like a younger brother to me, I believed that he would lead the next generation of humanity and Newtypes, but his Newtype abilities caught up to him and when he fought Scirocco, it didn't end well," said Quattro
"I remember Scirocco, he led the Original Titans after eliminating Bask Om and Jamitov Hyman, could never really figure him out," said Haman
"He was a bit of an enigma, anyway he and Kamille fought at the very end of the war and Kamille killed him, but before he died, Scirocco used the last of his Newtype energy to crush Kamille's mind and rendered him mentally disabled," said Quattro
"I heard from somewhere that he was rendered out of commission post-Gryps War, but he did help Judau defeat me at the end of the First Neo-Zeon War," said Haman
"Yeah, although the corruption and rising influence of Anaheim and the Federation caused both Kamille and Judau to leave politics behind in favour of quieter lives post-war, many Newtypes were seen as lesser by the Earth Federation and their Military-Industrial Complex to the point where the hero of the One Year War and my biggest rival Amuro Ray remained a mere captain in spite of his talents," said Quattro
"From what I sensed, Kamille was a caring soul, but prone to bouts of anger with a strong sense of justice, as for Judau he was a good man that was loyal to his friends and willing to spare anyone, even me after all that I had done during the Neo-Zeon War, the sad thing is while I did at a time agreed that people could understand each other, the endless wars of the Universal Century wore me down to the point where I was just a ideological vessel of Zeon," said Haman
"I saw and watched your downfall either as a member of the AEUG or when I went into hiding post-Gryps, you and me both became ideological shells who preached nothing but dogmatic and watered down Contolist values that were too farcical to really work," said Quattro
"When I thought you died at the end of the Gryps War, I was depressed and I was mere shell of a person of what I once was to the point where I pushed aside people that cared for me like Mashymere and Chara and I just felt alone at the top, it took being inspired by the idealism of the AEUG's pilots along with being given a second chance in life in an another dimension in order for me to change," said Haman
"I heard that you were once an employee of Lawrence Pester and you attended the ARI/Intergalactic Summit where many technological advances took place," said Quattro
"James was conceived at the summit, it lasted for 3-4 months and at the time, Dil was a 22 year old ARI scientist that had just saw his previous girlfriend leave him a few months prior and we hit it off right away, ARI and Intergalactic relations collapsed at the end of the Summit and Dil left it before I had the chance to tell him that I was pregnant with James and I was fired not long after James was born," said Haman
"That Lawrence guy and Dil have a history from what I heard, they apparently dislike each other," said Quattro
"They go way back, reviving Cima as well as playing both sides of the war was a powerful strategic move," said Haman
"What is Lawrence's aims for the war," said Quattro
"I don't entirely know, but according to Kaori, it seems he wants total control of space through a corporation," said Haman
"He's basically this universe's version of Anaheim Electronics and the Vist family," said Quattro
"He is, although the Intergalactic Research Organisation is far more mysterious and dangerous than even Anaheim ever was," said Haman
"You worked for the IRGO at a time, didn't you," said Quattro
"I was one of the many that were restored by them and used as one of their work slaves, I was sacked for being accused of disclosing company secrets as well as having a son with Lawrence's biggest rival," said Haman
"What did you learn about them, their methods and what they are capable of," said Quattro
"They were capable of many sorts of technology, teleportation, military and domestic equipment, anything that could be traded or sold for credits or Earth based currencies were there, Lawrence treated many of us like a disposable workforce whom he knew every employees strengths and weaknesses and they would use every trick in the book to either gain advantage of the competitors or to sell what was necessary to make the company richer and more powerful," said Haman
"Then why did he bring Cima back," said Quattro baffled
"My best bet is Lawrence needed a crazy Zeon to monitor and strategise against the Dilganese Newtypes," said Haman
"Even though Cima was never a Newtype," said Quattro
"She's fought for and against them during the One Year War, I also think the Intergalactic Research Organisation are considering military options which is why they brought Cima into this war," said Haman
"Considering that you have predicted a final battle between Dil and Lawrence, maybe Lawrence is beginning to mobilise against the Dilganese," said Quattro
"The New Titans are weakened to the point where they are open to Lawrence's machinations and I sense there are other powers that Pester is manipulating to serve at his will," said Haman
"He'll prolong the war if he does that," said Quattro
"Let's hope we can stop him before he could prolong the war," said Haman
Meanwhile
James, Yasako, Rosemary and Leo had all gathered round a campfire nearby with the damaged materials of the abandoned house nearby being used as firewood to warm the soliders from the December cold.
"Looks like the war could coming to an end soon," said James
"The Empire of Leni is near its end, but the New Titans are still prevalent and still have some key strongholds," said Rosemary
"The New Titans have stalled the Coalition of Three Armies past Tokyo, the New Titans are still holding the South of Japan to the teeth," said Yasako
"They shouldn't of put all their eggs into Tokyo," said Leo
"They'll get through the New Titans blockade, the Coalition have more support than the New Titans and can hold out longer," said James
"Your very optimistic James," said Rosemary
"I am hopeful of it, I wonder what will become of us after this war," said James
"Can you predict the future for all of us," said Leo
"Unfortunately no as Newtypes don't work like that and even then my Newtype powers are getting slightly weaker, have you noticed that Rosemary," said James
"I have, my father thinks it's gravity, but I feel it's something else," said Rosemary
"Hey Yasako, may I speak to you for a second," said James
"I would rather you confess in front of everyone," said Yasako smiling
James blushed quite heavily before saying nervously "What, like it front of everyone,"
"This should be interesting," said Leo smugly
"Well, I like you Yasako," said James as he blushed quite heavily.
"Awww thanks, I like you too James," said Yasako who kissed James on the cheek, causing him to blush heavily.
James suddenly heard a comms signal coming from his wrist communicator.
"I think someone is trying to call me," said James as he left the campsite to a secluded area where he connected his wrist communicator to a projector before answering the call.
It was his half-brother Admiral Charlie Miyazono Pickles of the 2nd Alien Fleet.
"Hi James, it's been a while, how's Earth" said Charlie
"Tiring, the Leni forces have dug themselves deep in the last few battles" said James
"I hear there on last legs after their leader died along with the New Titans Space Laser" said Charlie
"Yeah, I also heard Uncle Tommy died in that battle as well from a radio broadcast" said James
Charlie nodded in hesitant agreement before saying "I was at the battle, he sacrificed himself to destroy the cannon and save the America's continent including our home of Yucipica"
Loud noises which sounded like cannon fire could be heard from not far from where James's was.
"Is that the sound of cannons in the background" said Charlie
"It is, the YMS-16M Xamel Custom and Zaku Cannon are being used as artillery before we begin the siege in the morning" said James
"I see, it seems the war could end soon," said Charlie
"It does, but the New Titans are still around for us to fight," said James
"I don't think they've got much fight left in them, we have made some big gains in space," said Charlie
"I've heard, your on route to Command-2, aren't you," said James
"I am, me and Ushio have just come back from the siege of Glexon V as well as the conquest of Command-3," said Charlie
"I've heard from somewhere that your getting a new MS," said James
"I am, although I'm unsure about piloting it," said Charlie
"What are you unsure about, it's just a MS," said James
"It ain't just any old MS, it's built from tech from an another dimension and is a Kaiju MS rather than a standard MS," said Charlie
"A Kaijju MS, aren't they bigger and more unpredictable," said James
"It is, apparently what I'm piloting is known as Alpha Mechagodzilla and it is built from parts from the Showa and Heisei dimensions of Mechagodzilla," said Charlie
James's jaw dropped, he knew of Godzilla which was known as Reptar in this dimension and as a result knew of Mechagodzilla.
"You do realise how powerful Mechagodzilla actually is, right," said James
"You know of Mechagodzilla," said Charlie
"It used to be on some of the old Godzilla movies in my dimension, Mechagodzilla was literally built to destroy Godzilla and other Kaiju, it is a very powerful machine," said James
"I'll keep that in mind, I also heard you got invited to play for Bradford City in a wartime cup fixture, congratulations," said Charlie
"Yeah I was surprised, although I wish the NBA was back, I do miss watching the Sonics," said James
"It'll come back eventually, this time next year, I can tell you, you'll be at Key Arena watching Sonics vs Bucks," said Charlie
"I hope that, where's Ushio Okazaki and Liam Deville," said James
"Ushio is currently at the cafeteria and Liam is in his quarters, in fact I have to stay here on the bridge in order to command the ships movements," said Charlie
"Sucks to be you (James chuckled), how's father been," said James
"He's been doing okay, Lawrence Pesters presence re-emerging has caused him to re-evaluate the whole war and I fear the toll of leadership is beginning to physically and mentally affect him," said Charlie
"He's feeling the exhaustion of the war," said James
"Without Uncle Tommy to advise him, he's having to step up his role even more, I have only spoke to him when it comes to the next mission my fleet is involved in," said Charlie
"I've also heard from someone that his old rival has resurfaced as well," said James
"Yeah, Lawrence Pester has made things difficult, I will say," said Charlie
"He was the guy that my mother used to work for, wasn't he," said James
"He was when your mother was restored by the Intergalactic Research Organisation and worked for them," said Charlie
"I wonder what my mothers opinion on him is," said James
"From what she told our father as well as Lil, Haman is not a fan of Lawrence Pester," said Charlie
"I feel there's going to be a final battle, similar to the end of most Star Wars movies," said James
"I can feel it too, but the war has all these twists and turns that is making it unpredictable," said Charlie
"At least when we take the Leni cities, we have one less problem to worry about," said James
"We've still got the New Titans entrenched all over the place, we also know Lawrence is planning to use entropy as a weapon," said Charlie
"Entropy, wouldn't that throw the entire universe into chaos," said James
"It would which is why Lawrence wants to use it to both defeat his rival and take advantage of the chaos," said Charlie
"That's a little insane, has he got some sort of entropy cannon or something," said James
"Not just a cannon, but a very large space station with a entropy cannon," said Charlie
"Kinda reminds me of the Death Star," said James
"Similar, although different in design and impact," said Charlie
"Are Starfleet getting involved in this war," said James
"We did receive a few USS Defiants as well as some old Galaxy-Class and even ancient Constitution-class ships, but because they are rebuilding following the Dominion War and Borg Incursions, they could only support us in medical and military aid," said Charlie
"Oh, what happened to the Starfleet ships that were given to us," said James
"Most of the USS Defiant class were put into storage as we look to build Dactar class ships out of them and the rest were given to lower level officers and other fronts," said Charlie
"May I request at least one of them," said James
"You do realise the siege is like tomorrow, would you able to operate it in time," said Charlie
"I reckon we could," said James
"I can see if the Mk II Time Machine is available for use," said Charlie
"Thank you, what happened to your baseball career, I heard there is a wartime league," said James
"I didn't get drafted in time so I didn't make the league, although I could make an another sport," said Charlie

"Before the season was cancelled due to the war, I went to a US talent tryout for a certain team in a certain sport," said Charlie
"What sport was that," said James
Charlie took off his officers jacket to reveal a South Sydney Rabbitohs jersey.
"Is that a rugby league jersey," said James
"Yeah, just before the war and not long before the talent contest, I attended the tryout out of curiosity and I got scouted, although the war scuppered my chances of making my debut this year," said Charlie
"Oh, so I guess I was not the only one who's sports career was interrupted by the war," said James
"Yeah, as for the Defiant, I'll get it to you in time," said Charlie
