Chapter 272 Boys' Chat And The Forbidden Forest

Under Hermione's insistence, Harry and Ron reluctantly sat down next to her and began to study the centaurs.

However, the two couldn't focus, constantly whispering about the match.

Harry thought he should have caught the Snitch sooner; he had a chance before.

Ron told him he had been too polite with Cho Chang, and was tied to his early performance.

The conversation then shifted from Quidditch to Cho and the other girls, mentioning Evan in the discussion when Hermione wasn't paying attention.

"Overall, the Ravenclaw Seeker flies very well. She's probably the best among all the girls in the school," Ron muffled his words with a book, "But still, there's no comparison with you. Besides, your brooms are on completely different levels. The Firebolt is the best, it's a world-class broom. It's not even popular in the professional league."

"Cho Chang is great, I'm not much better than her," said Harry objectively, "if it weren't for the Firebolt, I might not have won so easily today."

He smiled slightly; the image of Cho in sky blue robes returned to his mind; she was extraordinarily beautiful.

"You're just too kind to her because she's a girl," Ron disagreed with Harry. "As Wood said, you've been too chivalrous."

"But..." Harry wanted to explain.

"If you don't believe me, you can ask Evan; he also witnessed the whole process."

"Let me tell you, although Cho is really good, her strong point is that she is also really beautiful," Evan sighed, "Harry, if you like her, you could try asking her out. I heard Luna say she still doesn't have a boyfriend!"

"I don't have that idea..." Harry tried to explain.

His face was red and he seemed to find it difficult to be convincing.

Indeed, as Evan had said, Harry really liked Cho.

More precisely, he liked her in the depths of his being. However, Harry was quite clumsy and inexperienced in this regard, and was not aware of it.

He only thought of Cho, feeling a pure emotion and his heart beating faster.

As the topic deepened, Harry felt his face growing redder, and to prevent Evan and Ron from laughing at him, he quickly changed the subject to Hermione.

"Evan, how do you get along with Hermione?!" Harry turned his back to Hermione and lowered his voice. "Tell us the truth, have you ever done that?"

"What?!" Evan looked at him puzzled.

"I mean..." Harry hesitated and whispered, "kissed!"

Upon hearing his words, Ron spat out the sip of juice he had just taken.

He coughed hard and got up from the couch. He almost knocked over the small round table due to his effort.

Hermione looked up at the sound of Ron.

She frowned and looked at the three of them suspiciously, her eyes full of doubt.

"Did you kiss Hermione?!" Ron said surprised, glanced at Evan hesitantly, then looked back at Hermione.

Before Evan had time to explain, Harry continued to tell Ron, "On Christmas Eve, Evan and Hermione left the Leaky Cauldron alone. About twenty minutes later, Hermione returned by herself with a flushed face and seemed very unusual..."

Harry and Ron looked at Evan, their eyes full of questions.

"Well, it can't really be considered a kiss," argued Evan. "At that moment, under the mistletoe in Diagon Alley, it was just a brush."

Time seemed to stand still; their thoughts returned to that night, and their hearts beat slightly faster.

Harry and Ron looked at Evan in astonishment; his expression was even more puzzled than theirs.

Harry looked completely stunned. He opened his mouth and didn't know what to say. He just wanted to make a joke. He didn't expect Evan to admit it. However, he quickly recovered and was very excited, genuinely happy for Evan and Hermione.

Ron was not in a state of shock; he was deeply concerned about the matter and seemed to want to say something.

Without waiting for him to speak, Fred and George approached to toast with butterbeer.

They laughed joyfully, disturbing Hermione, who was annoyed. She raised her head in irritation, shooed everyone away, and let Harry and Ron go join the party so she could catch up and focus on reading the remaining four hundred pages of the book in her hands.

The party seemed to last an eternity.

"Does she know what we are about to do in a moment?!" Hermione whispered as she nestled on the couch and stared intently at Sirius. "The Forbidden Forest at night is very dangerous. We should be prepared, not drinking and celebrating here..."

Around ten o'clock at night, she suddenly put down her book of magic.

She seemed to have made a decision. She approached and had a word with Sirius. Evan saw that Sirius seemed very remorseful, as if apologizing to Hermione.

A few minutes later, Hermione returned directly with a satisfied smile on her face.

"Get ready to go out, Evan!" she whispered.

Hermione led Evan out of the Common Room, and behind them, whistles could be heard. They were not the first couple to leave. Everyone had a knowing look on their faces, as if they already knew what Evan and Hermione were going to do.

Both Evan and Hermione blushed and tried to pretend they didn't hear the whistles.

"What did you say to Sirius?" Evan asked curiously.

"Nothing, just reminded him to pay attention to the time."

In the dark hallway, Hermione recounted to Evan what she had just told Sirius.

But Evan kept thinking about his conversation with Harry and Ron. He looked at Hermione in front of him and his thoughts drifted away.

Time passed, and around 10:30 p.m., Sirius, Harry, and Ron followed in succession.

Fred and George seemed to be putting on a show, the Common Room remained noisy, and the party showed no signs of ending.

"Let's go out and head to the colony of the Centaurs in the Forbidden Forest," said Harry excitedly, not feeling tired after this full day of activities.

"Let's hurry, so others don't notice we've left the castle," said Sirius in a completely normal tone, not appearing intoxicated at all. "I just spoke with Fred and George, and they will ensure the party continues."

Sirius led them all to the entrance hall, pointing out what to look for. They passed through the doors of the old castle, stepping on the dark ground. As they approached the dark and silent Forbidden Forest, the atmosphere became tense, and they became more cautious.

The moon shone brightly, but clouds began to cover it, plunging them into darkness.

It was hard to imagine that just a moment before they were enjoying in a well-lit Common Room, and now they were venturing into the dangerous Forbidden Forest.

Harry and Ron looked increasingly grim, with no energy to consider the predicament.

They seemed to realize that venturing into the Forbidden Forest in the middle of the night was not as simple as they had imagined.
