Gales wasn't really sure what happened. One second he's standing at the far end of church building, the next people are screaming.
At the altar, where the church Vicar once was, now stood a man with a longsword on his back and a repeater in his hand.
His face was covered in blood.
"Your holiness!" How he registered the clergymen drawing weapons was beyond him, his attention was more focused on his surroundings as he tried piecing together exactly what had happened.
There was a hole in the ceiling.
He'd heard a bullet being fired.
There was a body on the floor.
People were screaming, and running.
The clergymen were drawing weapons…
Quick analysis done, Gale reached behind him, only to grab air.
His greatsword was missing.
"No, it wasn't missing, he just hadn't brought it with him.
Whoever was causing trouble, was tearing apart the clergymen as they seemed to look around. Karma reached for his hip, pulling out one of his repeaters as he took aim.
The rounds he fired never made contact, as the man just moved to the side in order to dodge. "Damn…" A moment later the figure grabbed a body and threw it towards Karma. On impulse Karma grabbed the dead person as he went sliding back and landed on a bench.
"Karma!"
"I'm fine!" Karma shouted as he pushed the body off of him and grabbed his second repeater and started firing. "You know, when I came to temple today, this was not how I expected things to turn out."
"Agreed." Gales muttered, noticing the invader on the ground was walking over to someone. "Aleya!" Without another word he moved, grabbing another bench and chucking it towards the invader.
The man in question turned, and jumped back from the piece of furniture as it was smashed against a wall. Right after Gales stepped in front of Aleya, one of the discarded blades in his hand as he held it in front of him.
"Aleya, you ok?"
"I'm fine…" The songstress muttered, getting to her feet and stepping back.
"Then get out of here."
"But-"
"Go!" Gales shouted as Aleya made to say something else before nodding her head.
"Be safe."
The man, just adjusted his longsword as he put it over his shoulder and watched the songstress started to retreat and sighed to himself before looking back at Gales. "You again…" He muttered.
"Again?"
"This has nothing to do with you hunter." The figure stated as he looked around to see that Garm and Karma were surrounding him. "Stand down."
"Make us." He released another sigh as he raised his free hand to scratch his head.
"Honestly… why do people insist on trying to play the heroes?" He asked lowering his longsword before putting a hand on his hip. A second later he ripped a repeater off his person as he fired it at Karma. Karma responded by dodging, and returned fire barely a moment later as Gales lunged. His borrowed longsword slammed into the man's own before he w as pushed back. A moment later he dodged to the side as Garm leapt at him, fangs raised as he made to bite down on his arm. The next second he used his longsword to block a pair of bullets fired by Karma. A moment later he ducked under another sword swing before grabbing hold of Gales leg before throwing him to the side. He let Garm's fangs lock onto the handle of his longsword before swinging around and launched him elsewhere. Karma kept firing, trying to hit the figure as he either dodged or deflected the shots elsewhere.
Aleya ran, or at least she tried to run anyway. Never really had gotten used to running in this gown yet.
Still, no time like the present.
Stumbling a bit the songstress pressed on, her attention occasionally looking back to try and see what was going on in the main hall.
All she heard were the sound of bullets being fired.
"I'm sorry." Aleya muttered before she nearly lost her footing again.
"Careful there." A voice called out as Aleya came to a stop, seeing a woman standing across from her. "Running in that kind of dress is bound to get you to fall flat on your face. Was all the woman said for a moment as she pointed a firearm at her. "How bout I give you a hand priestess?"
"You…" Was all Aleya said for a moment as she stepped back. "You know who I am."
"Course we do." The lady stated as kept a hand on her hip in order to let it rest on a holster. "So… you probably know why we're here for you."
"I do…" Aleya muttered.
"Than please." The woman stated as she raised her free arm. "Don't struggle."
"Even if I don't…" Aleya began. "You think they're just going to let you take me away."
"Real talk, I'd be disappointed if they didn't."
They weren't making even a shred of progress. This guy, whe just kept ducking and dodging everything they threw at him.
"Who the hell are you?" Gales asked at one point, being directly in front of the man.
"Sorry but no names, hope you understand." Was the response he was given as he backed away, his foot sliding against the ground as Gales got ready to lunge again.
Karma beat him to it, fresh rounds in his repeaters as he opened fire. Again the figure just went about deflecting the bullets before jumping over Garm's back and then did a second to land on a pedestal of sorts.
"As much as I'm enjoying this little dance, you guys are just wasting my time." He stated.
"What?"
"You're wasting my time. And as much I hate to say it, I've got a schedule to keep." He admitted reaching behind him. "So let's call this a day."
"You think we're just gonna let you walk?" Karma growled.
"Not like you gotta choice." He stated as he tossed something into the air as thrio looked reflexively.
That turned out to be a mistake; especially considering the item in question was a flash bomb.
It went off before they got a chance to really register what they were looking at
"Shit!"
"Bit of advice, stay out of our way hunters."
