Authors Notes:
Heya peeps. This is my attempt at a Naruto Fairytail crossover.
Now my goal for this story is to create something dark and epic. I don't wanna recreate the same 500 different crossovers ive read where they just teleport and then Naruto and Sasuke become fairy tails lil goons of justice and beat up all the bad guys. Sure, thats whats popular. And thats totally all cool and all. But that aint my goal here.
My goal is to build this story so that there is a darker tone to the world. One where our protagonists are not heroes of justice, but ones who are actually smart, cunning, and willing to do whatever it takes to survive. Even if it means making sacrifices. Even through the endless pain, they have to survive. Just want everyone to be aware that this is categorised as tradgedy and suspense. I will defo include epic battles, but as mentioned, that aint the main focus.
Anyway, I've already written a few chapters and it gets really good. The first 3 will be world building/Character building but after that we really dive in.
Anyway, ill shut the fuck up now. Enjoy the story.
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or Fairtytail obviously, if I did I'd be rich. All rights go to their owners whoever they are.
Chapter 1 - The Beginning of an Eternity
The sky was a shattered mosaic of molten crimson and pitch-black voids. Shards of reality crumbled around them, floating in a sea of nothingness. The very fabric of existence was unraveling as the battle reached its climax. The battlefield was an endless, chaotic expanse—Kaguya's dimension, a realm where space and time bent to her will, warping into a nightmarish vision of desolation.
Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha stood side by side, their breaths heavy, their bodies battered, yet their spirits unyielding. Their eyes, filled with a mixture of determination and exhaustion, locked onto the woman floating before them—the progenitor of chakra, the mother of all shinobi, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.
Kaguya hovered in the air, her alabaster skin glowing with an ethereal light, her long, flowing hair billowing like the tendrils of a dark goddess. Her Rinne Sharingan pulsed ominously on her forehead, radiating power that threatened to tear the world asunder. She gazed down at the two shinobi with cold, unfeeling eyes—a gaze that had seen eons pass, civilizations rise and fall, and now, the remnants of her dream threatened by these two mortals.
"Fools," she whispered, her voice echoing through the fractured dimension, "you think you can stop me? You, who are mere specks in the grand tapestry of my design?"
Naruto clenched his fists, the chakra of the Nine-Tails swirling around him in a fiery cloak. "We're not just specks! We're the hope of this world, and we're not gonna let you destroy everything we've fought for!"
Sasuke's Rinnegan flared to life, the patterns within it shifting like a kaleidoscope of death. "We end this now, Kaguya. No more running. No more dimensions. This ends here."
Kaguya's lips curled into a faint, dismissive smile. With a wave of her hand, the ground beneath Naruto and Sasuke's feet erupted into spikes of blackened bone, sharp as blades and fast as lightning. The duo leaped into action, dodging with the reflexes honed from years of combat. Naruto's chakra arms lashed out, shattering the bone spikes into dust, while Sasuke's Susanoo arm blocked the incoming onslaught with ease.
The battlefield erupted into a frenzy of energy and destruction. Kaguya summoned massive orbs of dense chakra, Truth-Seeking Balls, each one capable of erasing existence itself. They floated ominously, ready to rain annihilation upon the two shinobi.
"Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Naruto's voice roared through the chaos as countless clones appeared, each charging forward with Rasengans of every size and variation. They swarmed Kaguya, a relentless tide of orange and blue.
But Kaguya was not so easily overwhelmed. Her long, flowing sleeves billowed as she extended her arms, the Truth-Seeking Balls at her command expanding and morphing into a gigantic black dome that absorbed the clones and Rasengans, dissolving them into nothingness. The dome then shot forward, a tidal wave of annihilation aimed directly at the real Naruto and Sasuke.
"Amaterasu!" Sasuke's eye blazed as the inextinguishable black flames erupted across the wave, slowing its advance but not stopping it. The flames clung to the chakra dome, but Kaguya simply willed them away with a thought, her power over chakra absolute.
Naruto, undeterred, formed a massive Rasenshuriken in his hand, its edges crackling with wind and raw power. "Let's see you absorb this!" he yelled, launching the spinning shuriken directly at Kaguya. The Rasenshuriken sliced through the air, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake.
Kaguya's eyes widened slightly as she raised a hand to intercept the attack, but before she could react, Sasuke appeared behind her, his sword drawn and crackling with Chidori's lightning. "You're not escaping!" he shouted, thrusting the blade towards her back.
In a blink, Kaguya's form flickered, vanishing just as Sasuke's blade passed through empty air. She reappeared several meters away, her expression now tinged with irritation. The Rasenshuriken, unable to change course, exploded in the distance, sending shockwaves rippling through the dimension.
"This is pointless," Kaguya said, her voice growing colder, more detached. "You cannot defeat me. I am the progenitor of all chakra, and you are nothing more than its misguided children."
"We'll see about that!" Naruto retorted, summoning the full power of Kurama. His body glowed with golden energy as he merged with the Nine-Tails, the colossal chakra avatar forming around him, towering over the battlefield.
Sasuke, not to be outdone, activated his Perfect Susanoo, the colossal warrior materializing around him, its ethereal wings spreading wide, casting an ominous shadow across the battlefield. Together, the two titans of the shinobi world stood united against Kaguya, their combined power a force to be reckoned with.
Kaguya's expression hardened as she brought her hands together, her chakra flaring to unimaginable heights. The very air around her distorted as she prepared to unleash her most devastating attack. "You leave me no choice. This world, and everything within it, shall be reset!"
Naruto and Sasuke, sensing the imminent danger, launched themselves at Kaguya with everything they had. The battle that ensued was a clash of titanic forces—Kurama's fists met Kaguya's chakra-fueled onslaught, while Susanoo's blade clashed with her bone spikes, each blow shaking the very foundations of reality.
The dimension around them began to collapse under the strain of their power, space and time warping, bending, and shattering like glass. The ground cracked and split, sending chunks of earth and rock floating into the void. The sky was a swirling maelstrom of colors, a reflection of the chaos and destruction unleashed by their battle.
Finally, as the dimension teetered on the brink of total collapse, Naruto and Sasuke saw their opening. With a final, desperate surge of power, they coordinated their attack—Naruto's Kurama Avatar and Sasuke's Susanoo merged into one, a monstrous being of light and darkness. This combined avatar wielded a massive Rasengan in one hand, infused with the lightning of Chidori, and the sword of Tosaka in the other, burning with the flames of Amaterasu.
Kaguya's eyes widened in shock as the monstrous avatar bore down on her, the Rasengan and sword poised to strike. She attempted to flee, to warp away to another dimension, but Sasuke's Rinnegan flared, locking her in place, pinning her to the spot with the gravitational force of his eye's power.
"This is the end, Kaguya!" Naruto and Sasuke's voices rang out in unison, their combined will echoing through the collapsing dimension.
With a deafening roar, the combined Rasengan and sword of Tosaka struck Kaguya, engulfing her in a cataclysmic explosion of light, lightning, and pure chakra. The shockwave from the attack tore through the dimension, obliterating everything in its path.
For a moment, there was nothing but light—blinding, all-consuming light. Then, slowly, the light began to fade, and the world around them started to stabilize. The dimension, once a chaotic maelstrom of destruction, now began to calm, the fractured pieces of reality slowly knitting themselves back together.
As the dust settled, Naruto and Sasuke stood alone in the midst of the devastation, their combined avatar dissipating into nothingness. Kaguya was nowhere to be seen, her presence erased from existence by the overwhelming power of their final attack.
They had done it. They had defeated the progenitor of chakra, the mother of all shinobi. But as they stood there, breathing heavily, their bodies battered and bruised, they couldn't shake the feeling that this victory had come at a great cost—a cost they had yet to fully understand.
The battle was over, but their journey was far from finished.
The battle was over, and the air was thick with the aftermath of destruction. Naruto and Sasuke stood amidst the ruins of Kaguya's dimension, the once chaotic and shattered world now eerily still. The oppressive tension that had filled the air was gone, replaced by a hollow silence that echoed in their minds.
Naruto let out a heavy sigh, his body trembling with exhaustion. He glanced at Sasuke, who was equally worn but still standing tall, his Rinnegan slowly fading back to its regular Sharingan. The two shinobi shared a brief look of understanding—a silent acknowledgment of the immense ordeal they had just survived.
"We did it," Naruto finally said, his voice hoarse. "We really did it…"
Sasuke nodded, though his eyes remained focused on the spot where Kaguya had been moments before. "Yeah… but something doesn't feel right."
Naruto's brow furrowed. "What do you mean?"
Sasuke's gaze hardened, the unease in his chest growing. "Kaguya was a god-like being. Defeating her… it should have felt like an end. But it feels like something else is lingering."
Before Naruto could respond, the ground beneath them began to tremble, a low rumble that quickly escalated into violent shakes. The sky, which had been stabilizing, suddenly darkened, swirling with ominous clouds that crackled with unnatural energy.
"What the—?" Naruto stumbled, struggling to keep his balance. "Sasuke, what's happening?"
Sasuke's eyes narrowed as he activated his Sharingan once more, scanning the area for any signs of danger. But what he saw was not an enemy—it was the very fabric of the dimension itself beginning to warp and twist.
The air around them grew thick with a palpable sense of dread, and then, from the very center of where Kaguya had been defeated, a strange energy began to coalesce. It was dark and oppressive, an unnatural force that felt both ancient and malevolent.
"Sasuke, look out!" Naruto shouted, but it was too late. The energy surged forward, enveloping both of them in its grasp.
They struggled, fighting against the pull, but the energy was too strong. It wasn't just attacking their bodies; it was invading their very souls, sinking into their being with a cold, insidious touch. Naruto felt Kurama within him roar in defiance, but even the Nine-Tails' power couldn't fend off the curse that was spreading through his chakra.
As the energy seeped deeper, the world around them began to fade into darkness. The shaking stopped, and the ominous clouds dissipated, but the sense of dread remained, settling into their bones like a poison. They fell to their knees, gasping for breath, as the dark energy finally dissipated, leaving them in a stunned silence.
For a moment, neither spoke. The world was eerily calm once again, as if nothing had happened. But both Naruto and Sasuke could feel it—the change within them, something fundamentally different.
Naruto was the first to break the silence. "What… what just happened?" His voice was shaky, his usually vibrant eyes dulled by exhaustion and confusion.
Sasuke slowly stood, his hand clenched into a fist as he tried to make sense of the feeling that had overtaken him. "That… it was Kaguya's doing. A final curse."
"A curse? What kind of curse?" Naruto asked, still struggling to understand.
Sasuke's expression darkened. "I don't know for sure, but I can feel it… deep inside. She didn't just want to defeat us. She wanted to punish us."
Naruto felt a pit forming in his stomach. "Punish us? How?"
Sasuke's eyes, now devoid of their Sharingan, met Naruto's. "Immortality."
Naruto's breath caught in his throat. "Immortality…? But that's… that's impossible!"
"Not for Kaguya," Sasuke replied grimly. "Think about it. She was the mother of all chakra, with the power to bend reality itself. It's not out of her reach to curse us with something like this."
Naruto's mind raced. Immortality—endless life, never aging, never dying. It sounded like a gift, but the way Sasuke spoke of it, he knew it was anything but.
"But why?" Naruto asked, his voice filled with a mixture of fear and disbelief. "Why would she do this?"
Sasuke's gaze hardened. "Because she knew that for beings like us, living forever isn't a gift—it's a curse. Watching everything and everyone around us wither and die while we remain unchanged… it's the ultimate punishment."
Naruto felt a cold chill run down his spine. He had fought for so long, for the sake of his friends, his village, for a future of peace. But now, that future was slipping away, replaced by an eternity of solitude and loss.
"We have to find a way to break this," Naruto said, his voice trembling but resolute. "We can't just… live like this."
Sasuke nodded, but his eyes were distant, already calculating the impossible task ahead. "We'll find a way. But we need to leave this place first."
Naruto looked around at the empty dimension, feeling the weight of their new reality pressing down on him. "Yeah… let's go."
With a final, shared glance, they prepared to leave the crumbling dimension. Sasuke's Rinnegan flared, and with a flick of his hand, he opened a portal—a swirling vortex that would take them back to the world they knew.
But as they stepped through the portal, a lingering sense of foreboding followed them, a dark shadow that clung to their souls. They had defeated Kaguya, but her curse would haunt them for eternity, shaping their fates in ways they could not yet comprehend.
And so, they returned to their world, unaware of the long, winding path of darkness that lay ahead—one that would lead them far from the shinobi life they once knew, and into a world where their names would become legends whispered in fear and awe.
Years had passed since the battle with Kaguya, years that should have brought peace, joy, and the simple pleasures of a life hard-fought for. But for Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, those years were marked by a growing shadow—a darkness that clung to them like a silent specter, reminding them daily of the curse that now defined their existence.
The villages prospered in the aftermath of the war. The Five Great Nations, once fractured by conflict, were now united in a fragile peace. The shinobi world was healing, and with it, the lives of its greatest heroes were supposed to find rest.
Naruto had married Hinata, the woman who had loved him since they were children. Their wedding was a celebration of hope and happiness, a testament to the future they both believed in. The years that followed were filled with warmth and laughter as they built a family together—Boruto, their spirited son, and Himawari, their sweet and gentle daughter. They were everything Naruto had ever dreamed of, a family that filled his life with purpose and love.
Sasuke, too, found a semblance of peace with Sakura by his side. Their bond, forged in the fires of war and tempered by time, had finally blossomed into something more. They married in a quiet ceremony, preferring the solace of their own company to the grand celebrations. Soon after, Sarada was born—a bright, determined girl who inherited both her father's strength and her mother's kindness.
But as the years turned into decades, the curse began to reveal its true horror. Naruto and Sasuke, the heroes of their time, did not age. While their wives grew older and their children matured into adults, they remained unchanged. Not a single wrinkle marred their skin, not a strand of their hair grayed, and their strength remained undiminished. They were trapped in the prime of their youth, eternally preserved by the curse that Kaguya had left behind.
At first, it was easy enough to hide. They laughed off questions from their children, attributing their unchanging appearances to the powerful chakra they both possessed. "We're just strong, that's all!" Naruto would say with his trademark grin, ruffling Boruto's hair. Sasuke, more reserved, would simply say that Uchiha blood was resilient, and Sarada, in her youth, believed him without question.
But as time went on, the truth became harder to ignore. While their wives' hair turned silver and their faces began to show the signs of age, Naruto and Sasuke remained the same. Hinata would sometimes gaze at Naruto with a wistful look, brushing her fingers across his unlined face as if searching for some proof that he was aging with her. Sakura, ever observant, noticed the way Sasuke's eyes still held the same fire they did when he was a young man, unburdened by the passage of time.
Their children, now adults with families of their own, began to ask questions that could no longer be brushed aside. Boruto, in particular, was persistent. "Dad, how come you still look the same? You haven't aged a day since I was a kid," he would ask, his brow furrowed in confusion.
Naruto would chuckle, the sound hollow in his own ears. "I guess your old man is just tough to wear down," he'd say, avoiding the truth that gnawed at his insides. But each time he laughed it off, he felt a little more of his resolve crumble.
Sasuke, too, found it increasingly difficult to hide the truth from Sarada. She was too sharp, too much like her mother, and she could see that something was wrong. "Father, is there something you're not telling me?" she would ask, her eyes searching his for answers he wasn't ready to give.
Sasuke would meet her gaze with a stoic expression, his heart aching with the knowledge he could not share. "Some things… are better left unsaid," he would reply, his voice betraying none of the turmoil within.
But the truth, no matter how well hidden, could not be ignored forever. The day came when both Hinata and Sakura fell ill, their bodies finally succumbing to the inevitable march of time. They were both bedridden, their breaths shallow, their strength waning. The once vibrant women who had stood beside their husbands through war and peace were now fragile and fading, their lives slipping away like sand through fingers.
Naruto sat by Hinata's bedside, holding her frail hand in his. Her once bright lavender eyes were clouded with age, but they still held the same love and warmth they always had. "Naruto," she whispered, her voice barely audible, "promise me… you'll always take care of our children."
Naruto's heart broke as he nodded, his throat tight with grief. "I promise, Hinata. I'll always protect them… always." His voice wavered, and he fought to keep his tears at bay, knowing that they would only add to her sorrow.
Hinata smiled weakly, her thumb brushing against his hand. "I know you will… You've always been so strong… so full of life." She paused, her gaze lingering on his face. "It's strange… you still look the same as the day we met… But I guess… that's just part of who you are."
Naruto couldn't find the words to respond. The guilt, the sorrow, the weight of his curse—they all crushed him as he watched the love of his life slip away, knowing he would remain, unchanged, while she left him behind.
In another room, Sasuke sat beside Sakura, who was resting in her final moments. Her pink hair had turned a soft white, and her once vibrant green eyes were dimmed with age, yet she still looked at him with the same fierce love she always had.
"Sasuke… don't be so serious," she said with a small smile, her voice weak. "Even now, you're still so… brooding."
Sasuke's lips twitched in what might have been a smile, but it was overshadowed by the pain in his heart. "I suppose… some things never change," he replied, his voice quiet.
Sakura's hand found his, and she squeezed it gently. "I've always loved you… even when you were difficult… and I always will." She looked up at him, her gaze softening. "You haven't aged a day, you know… But that's okay. You'll always be my Sasuke."
Sasuke closed his eyes, unable to hold back the tears any longer. They fell silently, landing on their joined hands as he pressed her frail fingers to his lips. "I love you, Sakura," he whispered, his voice breaking.
In those final moments, Naruto and Sasuke both held their wives close, their hearts shattering as they felt the last breaths of their loved ones slip away. The pain was unbearable, a grief so profound that it seemed to consume them entirely. They were left alone, immortal beings cursed to watch as everything they loved faded away.
When their wives finally passed, Naruto and Sasuke cried. They cried for the loss, for the love they could no longer hold, and for the eternity that stretched out before them, an endless road of loneliness and pain. They were trapped, frozen in time, while the world moved on without them.
The years continued to pass, and their children grew old. Boruto and Sarada became legends in their own right, leaders of the new generation, but even they could not escape the ravages of time. Eventually, they too fell ill, and Naruto and Sasuke were forced to watch as their children—extensions of the love they had once shared—passed away, leaving them once again alone.
On their children's deathbeds, Naruto and Sasuke could only smile weakly as they held their hands, comforting them in their final moments. They laughed softly at the jokes their children made, pretending that everything was normal, that nothing was wrong. But inside, their hearts were breaking, knowing that they would outlive even their own flesh and blood.
As the years turned into centuries, Naruto and Sasuke became legends, whispers in the wind, stories told by the fireside about the two immortal warriors who had once saved the world. But those stories could never capture the pain, the sorrow, the endless loneliness that came with their cursed existence.
They walked the world, always moving, never staying in one place for too long. They had fought for peace, for a world where their loved ones could live in happiness, but now, all they had was the memory of what they had lost.
Together, yet forever apart, they wandered the earth, searching for a way to break the curse, to find some semblance of peace in a world that had long since moved on without them.
And so they continued, eternal warriors in a world that no longer remembered them, carrying the weight of their curse as they walked the endless road of immortality.
