Here's chapter 8, hope you enjoy! I do not own Stranger Things

Sorry guys I've been working on some other projects and fell behind on this one.

Odette

She sat on the floor of the trailer, her back against the kitchen drawers and her eyes on her brother as she slowly watched him spiral into madness. She'd thought her telling him about her abilities would be the bigger issue. The harder sell...but it was the fact that she was dating.

"Fucking Harrington?!"

"Yes." He throws his hands up in the air, leaning back into the couch so he could stare at the ceiling of the trailer. "So Steve motherfucking Harrington knew about your witchy stuff before your brother. Do I have that right?" His tone is surprisingly even, his eyes still trained on a stain on the ceiling.

"Yes." She mumbles again. "He's nice Eddie-"

"Nice!" It comes out with a bark of laughter "Nice. I'm so glad he's fucking nice Detta. He's really nice till he gets in your pants!" He's jumped up from his spot on the couch and started marching to his room.

"He's not like that!" She says, kicking his ankle as he passed her. "He's been taking me out for almost a month Eddie."

He whirls around, having yanked on his leather jacket over the old white tank top he had on. "A fucking month? What the hell Detta?" He roughly pulls his hair out from here the collar of his jacket had caught it. Rummaging on his dresser, pulling out his rings from the box there and throwing them onto his fingers haphazardly.

"What are you doing?!" She asks, getting up to see him grabbing a pair of jeans to pull on over the boxers he'd planned to sleep in.

"I'm obviously going to go fuck his ass up." He grumbles, zipping up the jeans and sliding on his shoes. She stands in his doorway, glaring at him "Why? He's not done anything!"

"He's been putting the moves on my little sister! And if you've been with him a fucking month I'm sure he's seen more than he should." He pushes past her sourly, heading for the door. She grabs his jacket, pulling hard so he stumbles back ever so slightly. "Let go Detta!"

"I'm not going to just let you beat the shit out of my boyfriend!" She pulls again, he turns around in response and glowers down at her. "Why the fuck would you pick Harrington?"

"I didn't really pick him out for you, you jerk! I didn't know you had a pole up your ass about him!"

"I'm not the asshole here!" He gestures to the trailer around them "Fucks like him don't go out with people who live in trailers Detta. They don't see a future with people like us." She feels tears spring to her eyes "He isn't like that!"

"Have you ever been to his place Detta? Cause I have, the pretentious fucker doesn't mind having the freak at his place if it's to get weed" She pushes on his chest, shoving him backwards "He doesn't do that anymore!"

Eddie laughs humorlessly, running his hand through his hair again "So he told you about how he used to act did he? Did he tell you about all the poor heartbroken girls that he slept with, how they mooned over him after a one night stand? Did he tell you about how he broadcasted to the whole town that his ex girlfriend was a whore?"

Odette wipes the tears that are now sliding down her cheeks away viciously. "He didn't go into details and he doesn't have to! I'm not marrying him tomorrow Eddie! All that matters to me is how he treats me! And for your fucking information he treats me great! He's sweet, he's affectionate, he plans dates, he's fucking awesome!" Odette's shouting now, looking at her brother harshly as she snatches her fingers back from his jacket.

"I'm sure he's all perfect prince goddamned charming till he gets in your pants. I don't think you'll hear from him after that-" He stops, catching sight of the way her cheeks went red, her eyes shifted towards the carpet shamefully, and how she crossed her arms over her chest. "I'll kill him."

Eddie turns on his heal and grabs the keys to his van from the hook by the door. She's running after him, no shoes and yelling at him to stop. He gets into the van, managing to start it right as she gets inside. "You can't just- Fuck!" He takes off, not caring that she'd only just gotten into the van. "Eddie turn the fuck around! You can't just go and assault my boyfriend!"

"I'm gonna kick his ass for using my little sister. It's what big brothers are supposed to fucking do-"

"He didn't use me Eddie! I initiated it! I wanted to do it!" She smacks his arm as she speaks, glaring at him "I-"

"I don't want to hear all the details of you losing it to Harrington Detta. It's fucking done...and I need to break something." He rubs his mouth roughly with one hand, looking like he was trying to lose himself in thought.

"Can't you just...just talk to him Eds? Please?" She whispers, she was shaking with nerves in the passenger seat of the van, wearing only a pink camisole, and a pair of green shorts. Her dark curls were frizzed all over from sleep and the amount of times she'd tugged at her hair during their argument.

"Talk to him? What is there to talk about?! He's messing with my little sister-"

"I'm not 6! I can handle it if he and I don't work out!" She flumps back in the seat "Please just try?" He doesn't answer, he stays silent and turns Iron Maiden up as high as it would go as he barreled through the barely lit streets of Hawkins. They pulled up to Steve's house, Odette thanking goodness that he lived in a fairly secluded area. Eddie slams his palm on the horn four times, glaring up at the house. Odette got out, running barefooted up the steps of the house and to the door. She got there right as Steve stepped out, wearing sleep pants and holding a bat...a bat full of nails.

"Steve what the hell is that?!" She whispers harshly, Iron Maiden comes to a sudden stop in the distance as Eddie turns off the van. "Put that away it's my brother!" She shoves the bat to the inside of the house and grabs Steve's hand. "I'm so sorry about this he just...I didn't mean for it to come out like it did."

"Harrington!" Eddie's voice pierced through the night like a blade, obviously not coming for a social call. "What the hell do you think you're doing?!" Eddie's seething as he steps up to the front porch, flexing his fingers and getting ready to throw the first punch.

"Munson-" Steve starts, not so subtly nudging Odette out from between him and her brother "I don't want to step on any toes-"

"That's a first for you I'll bet" Eddie's voice carried into the house, Odette could see the shadows on the floor of the three boys coming up behind him, casting shadows in the light from the house. Eddie and Steve don't notice, Steve is keeping his hands where Eddie can see them trying to placate the older man. "Listen I didn't date Odette to upset you man-"

"Well you fucking did Harrington! What do you want with her?!" Eddie's stepped closer now, keeping his eyes squarely on Steve. He jabs Steve in the chest with one ringed finger, the silver pig glinting in the warm glow of the doorway.

"Eddie stop it!" Odette chides, pushing his shoulder to no effect. Eddie sneers "Wanted to see if the freak's sister was as fucking weird?! Or are you trying to piss off mommy and daddy?!"

"I wanted to date her because she's fucking interesting Munson. I didn't know she was your sister till later" Steve's voice has gone cold, his dark brown eyes glaring into Eddie's. He straightened his shoulders to his full height, only a few inches taller than Eddie, but the confidence he was exuding came off him in waves. It threw Eddie off ever so slightly.

"When did she tell you about me then?!"

"I found out a week ago" The lie fell off of Steve's tongue, catching Eddie off guard. The metalhead flexes his fingers again anxiously, keeping his eyes on Steve. "You don't lay a fucking hand on her-"

"Eddie stop it!" Odette tries and fails push herself between her brother and her boyfriend, Steve blocking her from where fists could go flying. "You don't dictate who I do and don't date."

"I'm not letting you date this dickhead!" Eddie turns to her, hair flying wildly around his slightly crazed face "My little sister deserves better than a guy who fucks anything with tits!"

"Listen man, say what you want...just not in front of the kids." Steve's voice is resolute and stern, his hands were splayed out in the air in front of him, trying to calm the storm rising between the two teens. Odette heard the boys shuffling closer to the door, she could feel Will's anxiety rising close. She spared a look through the doorway and caught Will's mahogany eyes. Eddie's stance softens ever so slightly as he catches sight of the kids in the doorway but when he turns back to Steve his eyes are burning again. He swings on Steve and one of his ringed hands catches his chin and sends him stumbling into the side of the doorway. He raises a hand to his now bleeding face and grunts in pain as his hand comes away red and slick.

"Eddie!" Odette practically yells, reaching for Steve's face but she's pushed off gently, his blood smearing over her pale arm. "Don't baby-"

"Don't! You just need to show off how you've got fucking everything don't you Harrington?!" Eddie has both of his fists raised again, his right hand now bloody. "You've got the fucking house, the money, you've got the little kids that fucking love you for some god damned reason, you've got girls fawning over the god damned king of Hawkins High! And now you've sunk your claws in just about the only family I've fucking got!" Odette stops cold, turning to her older brother as he seethes, getting ready to hit Steve again.

Steve grunts as Eddie's left fist catches his nose but only pushes Eddie back. "I don't have everything Munson!"

"What? Did daddy not get you a fucking new car for your birthday?!"

"Fuck you." Steve pulls himself up, blood sliding down his lip from his nose "I don't have everything. I grew up with money. I did." He spreads his arms out wide gesturing to the house "But it's fucking empty. Before I had them I had nothing but the fuckers that liked me for the parties I could throw. I got the fucking car for my 16th but I had parents who didn't give a shit if I was breathing. So fuck yeah I'm dating your sister! She gives a fuck about me instead of the hair or the money or the damn status"

Eddie's frozen to the spot, fists still raised as he glares at Steve. Letting the words sink in as Odette turns to the doorway where Lucas, Mike, and Will were all standing. "Get back inside." She hisses, pulling the door closed behind Steve. Steve's breathing heavily as he wipes at his bloody nose, still staring at Eddie. "I can be a fucking dick Munson...I'm working on it." He grunts and glares at the metalhead "But you hit me one more time, and I'll make an exception." Eddie dropped his fists, looking at Steve suspiciously.

Odette glares at Eddie "You're both ridiculous. Get inside. Now." She opens the door, accidentally smacking it into Mike's head as he'd had his ear pressed to it to hear the fight. "Move!" She pushes Steve into the kitchen where she'd left an extra bag of components from earlier. She pushes Steve to stand by the counter where she grabs a cloth and begins cleaning the blood from his fresh wounds. "Eddie you're such a fucking jerk!"

Eddie who had followed them inside, nodding slightly awkwardly at the three freshmen before following them into the kitchen. "Detta I-"

"Fucking save it. I'm not in the mood Eddie. I know why you did it." She gets Steve's face mostly blood free and reaches for a small mason jar filled with a greenish grey paste. "This will feel cold for a bit. But keep it on for about an hour and it'll get this stuff closed ok?" She says quietly to Steve as she unscrews the lid and gets out a generous dollop of the salve on her fingers. She smooths it over the broken skin of his jaw along with the blossoming bruise along his cheekbone and nose. Once Steve's face is sufficiently covered in green she washes her hands and turns to her brother. "You owe him a fucking apolo-"

Steve's hand lands on her shoulder gently, pulling her to look at him once again. "Odette, he's seen me at my worst..." He spares a look for the metalhead "I would have been worried if he didn't expect the worst from me." She huffs slightly and rolls her eyes "And he couldn't just talk to you?!"

Steve chuckles wryly, wincing as the cut on his chin stretched with his smile "You met me after I got my act together gorgeous" he slipped an arm around her waist with that same charming tone he seemed to save just for her.

Eddie lets out a huff of air "Cool it Harrington." He feels Odette's searing gaze on him but doesn't acknowledge it. "How long have you known about her witchy shit?"

Steve looks at the clock on the wall, "About 4 hours?" Eddie sighs a little "Well at least it wasn't a fucking month"

Odette lets out a groan "I was going to tell you Eddie! I was just waiting till...till I knew it was serious." She let her gaze fall back on Steve and she returned the small sheepish smile before turning back to her brother "Have you gotten the caveman crap out of your system?"

Steve sat back tiredly in his dad's favorite armchair, listening to the soft talking of Eddie and the boys on the other side of the living room. He'd started to close his eyes when he heard the distant whistle of the kettle in the kitchen. He sat up tiredly and waited; as he'd expected Odette walked into the room, white mug in hand and smiling at him sheepishly. "I'm so sorry for Eddie, he's normally not a neanderthal." She whispers, handing him the mug and taking a seat on the arm of the chair. Steve waves his hand through the air, as though he were swatting away her apology "Like I said...he's got a right to be worried." He looks up at her a little trepidatiously "I...I'll get it if you don't like my...my past."

"Pft" She rolls her eyes sassily "I told you I didn't care on our first date. I don't care now either." She nudges his shoulder with her elbow "You still don't care about me being all...witchy?"

"Nope." She smiles "Then we don't have a problem." Odette gestures to his mug "Drink it. You don't need nightmares on top of it" He takes a sip and lets out a sigh of contentment at the calming taste of the tea spreading over his tongue.

"What's that?" Will asks, turning from his conversation with Eddie and the other two boys. Odette looks at Steve nervously "Is it ok?" She asks quietly. At his nod she turns back to the teen "It's tea...charmed tea. It helps you sleep without having nightmares."

Will cocks his head to the side for a moment before smiling slightly, his eyes lighting up a little "So when do I start?"

"Start what?" Eddie asks tiredly, rubbing his bruising knuckles on his left hand. Will turns back to him and grins "Odette tested us all for magic and I had some...so I was hoping I could start my training."

Odette leans into Steve's arm and smiles at the freshmen good naturally "I think that's something Madame will want to help with. She's not had a male student in years I don't think." she looks at the clock on the wall and yawns "Eddie and I should head back home." She mumbles tiredly but feels Steve's grip tighten on her hip "You both could stay here for the night...the coven will be here in the morning anyway."

"She's not sleeping in the same bed as you Harrington." Eddie's voice has a dark tone to it as he stares daggers at Steve from his spot next to Lucas. "Not while I'm in the same house." Odette rolls her eyes and slides into Steve's lap, pulling a cheeky smile at her brother. "Ok, we'll sleep right here Eds."

"Detta." His tone is warning but he doesn't move. She sighs and leans onto Steve's shoulder "Fine. Just quit with the death stares, we get it." She lays her head back on his shoulder before she lazily flicks her hand and the radio starts to play softly on the other side of the room. Snowbird by Anne Murray playing like a lullaby through the room. She feels Steve's eyes flicker down to her but he doesn't say anything, he takes another sip of his tea before he presses a kiss to her temple.

"So am I supposed to be used to that?" Eddie grunts, pulling himself up on the couch so he's leaning forward, elbows resting on his knees. She shrugs "Not used to it...but it's nice to be able to use it more often..." She bites her lip "I'm sorry I didn't tell you Eds...I really am." She looks at him a little mournfully, playing up the puppy eyes as much as she can. Eddie grunts but looks towards the bag that she'd left on the counter. "So what witchy stuff have you been doing under our noses Detta?"

She blushes a little "Little stuff...healing mostly. But I used seeing stones when you lost your pick necklace...same with Uncle Wayne's keys." She shrugs and starts to close her eyes, the adrenaline from Eddie's outbursts slowly ebbing from her as the night dragged on. She completely missed the look of indignation on her older brother's face "Are you kidding?"

"Nope."

"So you could have been doing these things the whole time?"

"Yep." She sighs, eyes still closed and her nose slowly being buried into Steve's warm neck. She breathed in his scent of warm sandalwood as Eddie cursed under his breath, just barely heard over the laughter of the three freshmen before she fell completely asleep on Steve's shoulder.

Odette awoke the next morning, curled into the fetal position on the armchair with Steve nowhere to be found. She looked blearily around the living room, dim sunlight streaming in through the windows; shining gently on the three boys asleep in various positions on the large L shaped couch across from her. She groaned softly as she stretched her taut limbs out from her body, feeling the soft grey blanket falling from her form. She blinked, allowing her eyes to get used to the early morning light with difficulty. She yawned and stood, noticing that Eddie had made a disappearance as well. She popped her head into the hallway tiredly, not seeing Steve or Eddie. She padded slowly down the hallway towards the bathroom when she heard it. Deep laughter bubbling up from the open sliding door to the backyard. She slipped through the empty kitchen, spotting a cooling pot of coffee sitting there, half full of the dark caffeine. She peeked out the door silently and grinned when the sight met her eyes.

Eddie was sitting on the edge of the pool, his feet kicking gently in the cool water as he laughed with her boyfriend. Steve had obviously loaned him a shirt since he was wearing the darkest thing Steve seemed to own, a dark burgundy colored polo and a pair of grey sweatpants that Eddie had hiked up to his knees so they wouldn't get wet. Steve looked like he'd just gotten out of the pool, his shirt lay abandoned on one of the chairs behind him along with his jeans, leaving him in a pair of green boxers. His hair was dripping down his face as he rolled his eyes at another playful jab from Eddie.

"I mean King Harrington sharing his morning with Eddie the Freak! No one would believe it; even if they saw it. They'd assume I'd broken in, stole your clothes, and pushed you in! Tommy would have a fit wouldn't he?!"

Steve shook his head slightly "Yeah, but we're...we're not on speaking terms Munson...I kinda...I ditched a lot of them already. This is the most party type thing I've done in a while." He leans back on his arms, sticking his own feet into the water as he looks out to the woods behind his house. "And I'm not really going to give those little shits beer...I'm not that bad of an influence."

Odette leaned against the open door, head falling on the metal frame lazily as she took in two of the three most important men in her life. "So Harrington...what exactly is happening today?"

Steve's smile falters a little "There's...there's a lot of backstory there...but the gist of it is...you know Billy Hargrove?"

Eddie chuckles a little "That fucking guy...what about him?" Steve nods a little, liking the fact that Eddie couldn't stand the lifeguard either. "Well...he's possessed by this...this thing in another dimension that's like...sitting on top of ours almost...and uh...Odette wants to get him some help I guess...and she's got her coven coming here today...so a bunch of witches..."

"So is it like a bunch of chicks that just got into it?" Eddie takes a long drink of his coffee after his question spills from his lips, eyeing Steve who looks like he's trying to remember. Odette steps out onto the concrete patio and chuckles "No Eds. They found us..." She plops down on a seat behind them, revelling in the fact that they'd jumped a foot when she'd spoken. "Madame tests every child that enters the academy for it...and she sends those of us with gifts to the Elite team to learn magics as well as ballet...we're taught french so we can talk about it in public..." She shrugs and stretches her arms over her head again, another yawn escaping her. "It's all...it all feels normal after a while."

"What else do you do?" Eddie asks, shooting Steve a look as he noticed the other teen raking his eyes down Odette's stretching form.

"All sorts...my passion projects are divination, healing mixes...I'm pretty good at glamours too"

"Being hot isn't magic babe" Steve's words slip out of his mouth before he realizes he's sitting next to her brother. Eddie gives him a slightly too harsh shove that sends him into the pool. He rises from the water spluttering but grinning cheekily at Eddie. "Sorry"

"That's not what it means anyway" Odette rolls her eyes and watches as Steve pulls himself up onto the edge again, although this time keeping his distance from the metalhead. "What's it mean then?" Eddie asks, still shaking his head a little bitterly.

Instead of explaining she slides onto the concrete, sitting with her legs crossed and her eyes closed. She concentrated hard on her goal, mumbling to herself in french as she rose her fingers to her hair, running them through the tangles as she whispered. She heard the low whistle come from Eddie as her fingers found the edge of her hair. She opened her eyes, looking down at the hair that hung by her face, no more were the locks curly and dark. Instead they were stick straight and blonde, she giggles a little at their awed expressions "See? It's a charm that changes appearances" She shakes her hair, as she did the locks curled and darkened back to her original color. "It's kinda dumb...but good if you're not wanting to be recognized." She pulls her knees up to her chest "How bad are you freaking out?"

"Not too bad...not unless you're going to start turning us into frogs." She rolls her eyes at her brother "We don't do that."

"What do you do when someone pisses you off?" Eddie asks, his dark eyes burning into hers as the question hangs in the air. She brings in a deep breath, not sure how to answer but she's saved by the sound of honking out front. She took off like a shot, feet thundering through the house as she raced to and past the front door and down the front steps. The boys ran after her, slipping and sliding over the hard wood as they went. The both halted on the front porch as they saw Odette slam into one of the girls exiting a car. She was short with a lithe frame, long black hair and dark tanned skin. The both of them felt a little awkward as Odette and the girl kissed each other's cheeks affectionately as they grinned at one another.

The two teen males turned their attentions to the other people exiting the long black car. Out of the passenger side seat rose a woman that defied imagination. She was incredibly tall, even from down the walk from them it was clear that she stood over both Eddie and Steve. Her dark skin peaked out from her long sleeved red shirt, and her long black hair tied in a large bun on the top of her head. Her caramel eyes looked past the hugging group of girls, past the expanse of lawn and up the steps to the two of them. Staring into them with a hard expression, her red lips pressed into an irritated line as she took the both of them in. The both of them were certain she needed no introduction...this was the leader of the coven Odette spoke of so fondly. She had to be Madame Dubois. They weren't able to turn from her gaze until the silence they'd had was broken by the three teens who'd been woken by Odette's mad dash for the door broke it.

"What's going on?" Mike asked, nearly growling as he allowed his eyes to get used to the bright sunlight.

"They're here" Steve muttered, his dark eyes locked on the caramel ones of the oldest witch. Will pushed past both of the older boys, looking nervously at them all, not moving from the top step where he seemed to have frozen. He stood there with them, all taking in Odette's excitement to be back in the fold she'd spent so long enveloped in. When she finally emerged she was pulling the young asian girl by the hand up the steps with her. The rest of the women seemed to follow their lead, spreading out enough to show off that they were the least likely friends Eddie or Steve had ever seen together. While Odette and her asian friend were obviously passionate about their flower power style, there was one who was tall and white blonde who seemed to think Metal was as important to life as breathing. She wore dark black jeans, full of rips and chains along with a dark purple top, layered with black lace sleeves. Her make up was dark around her eyes, the only color other than black was on her dark purple lips.

The girl behind her was definitely more of a classic style, wearing a brightly colored top with bright pink shorts and her light brown hair was pulled up in a high pony tail by a neon yellow scrunchie. Beside her was a red haired girl who was dressed in work out clothes, a black pair of sweat pants and a neon green tank top with her hair in a bun. The last girl was a shorter blonde with glasses that was dressed like the quintessential nerdy girl. But they were all animatedly interacting as they walked up the path to the house, only stopping when they got up to the first step and the group of males could finally hear them, it was hushed french as Odette held her hand out, seemingly introducing Will to the group.

Madame came up behind the group and cleared her throat, eyes still glued to Steve and Eddie. "We should do introductions inside, we don't need prying eyes do we ladies?"

Steve pulled Eddie around by the arm and steered the boys inside before making sure the coven got in before him, although as Madame passed him he could have sworn she was looking into his very soul.
