Eons ago, there were ancient spirits roamed the lands of the Earth. These spirits had special mystical powers and could be tamed by humans, usually sealed into objects for use of these powers. The most common object these spirits were sealed into were spinning tops that were used in wars and more as the centuries passed. These tops over time became referred to as Beyblades and the spirits became referred to as Bit Beasts. A sport was created to commemorate the Beyblades known as Beyblade. It was and still is a fierce sport to this day, many competed with great ferociousness.
Many, many years into the future, in the year 2002, the sport of Beyblade was still at large and had greatly evolved. This story follows a boy trying to be the best at Beyblade and discovering many uncovered things about the sport and the spirits. The boy's name was Max and along his journey, he would make many new friends and allies as well as discoveries about Beyblade.
