One dark and stormy night, a tall dark-skinned boy with short jet-black curly hair and deep-brown eyes dressed in a white t-shirt and royal blue jersey shorts walked through a dark forest alone barefoot, seemly searching for something. "Ma…x..", a voice called out. The boy searched through the dark storm in response to the voice through squinted eyes to keep to rain out of his eyes. "Max, I know you are searching for me. I have been searching for you as well.", the voice said. Suddenly a bright blue light shone intensely behind the boy's back.

The boy turned around towards the light and was mystified at what he had seen. A giant blue lion appeared above the ground looking down at him. The lion's blue light emitting from its body danced with the falling rain as it spoke to the boy. "My power will be yours the day that you find me and I will fight alongside you forever", the lion said. Before the boy could say anything, the lion disappeared along with its brilliant, blue light and everything had been swallowed by the darkness.

Suddenly the boy awoke in his bed to the sound of crackling thunder and heavy rain pelting the window of his bedroom. This boy's name was Max Heath, a 13 year old Beyblader with ambitions to face the best of the best. What little did Max know was that tomorrow would change his life for the better. Tomorrow was a special day, tomorrow was Max's birthday. And he is going to receive a gift that will assist him with achieving his goal.

Max sat up in his bed to stir and look at the falling rain outside his window, seeming as if he were mesmerized by the raging storm. Taking one more final look out the window, he laid back down and returned to his slumber. Closing his eyes, Max heard the same voice again from his dream. "Max, tomorrow we shall finally meet face-to-face." "Tomorrow, my power shall be yours to command from then-on and so forth", the voice boomed. While his eyes were still closed, Max nodded his head in agreement and faded off to sleep.

That following morning, the storm from that night prior still raged on. Torrential rain with an occasional roar of thunder here and there. Max slowly peeped his head out from under his covers looking around his room. He looked at the cosmic blue painted walls, next he glanced at his mahogany desk to the left of his queen-sized bed and then to the window on the left side of this bed watching the rain fall. "I feel so at peace when the rain falls", he thought, " I could just lay here fore-". Suddenly there was a knock on Max's bedroom door. He glanced over at a white door and bellowed, "who is it?"

"Your dad", a voice boomed. "Come in", replied Max. Slowly the door opened and a tall dark-skinned, husky man with deep-brown eyes dressed in a black polo shirt and khaki pants glanced towards Max. "Happy Birthday son!", the burly man yelled. This man, Max's dad was known by others as Michael Heath. Max was Michael's mini-me, as they both have matching deep-brown eyes and the short jet-black curly hair. The only things they did have to differentiate them from one another were Max's dimples (he had matching deep dimples on both of his cheeks that only appeared whenever he smiled or was very happy) and Michael's burly build along with his height. Michael stood at a whopping 5'11" (180 centimeters) while Max was just 5'5" (165 centimeters).

"Thanks dad", Max replied. "I know that you're going to be busy this morning so before you leave I want to give you your birthday present", Michael said. "Whenever you get dressed, come outside to the shed ok?" "Alright dad, I'll be there as soon as I can", Max replied, rising up from his covers. "Ok." Michael slipped out of Max's room and closed the door. He glided down a set of stairs and made a beeline to a white door with 5 small window panes. As he opened the door, he grabbed a black umbrella and slipped on some black slippers. Michael then closed the door behind him, opened the umbrella to shield himself from the pelting rain and started walking down a black and grey gravel path that stopped at a red and white cedar wood shed.

Meanwhile, Max jumped out of bed and scurried to a mahogany dresser to grab some clothes. He grabbed a solid blue t-shirt, black pants, black socks along with a blue and white jacket with a blue hood. Before he began to get dressed, he grabbed the soft, luscious white blanket and sheets of his bed and smoothed them all out along with his pillow. Once that was done, Max started getting dressed, after he finished with that, he headed to the bathroom to wash his face and brush his teeth. Now Max was ready to make his way to the shed. He started making his way to his room door but soon realized he had forgot one important thing. His Beyblade, in Max's desk was his Beyblade that he loved and cherished. His dad helped him build it and set it up, he was no pro Beyblader in any way yet but that Beyblade helped him take down anyone that dared to challenge him.

Max quickly shuffled to his desk and opened the top drawer. Inside was a blue Beyblade--complete with all the fixings. A Bit-Chip, Weight Disk, Attack Ring, Spin Gear and Blade Base. And beside it was a blue and white launcher shaped like a gun with a long yellow ripcord. Max grabbed both items, closing the drawer and making his way out of the room. Today, Max kind of had a busy day even though it was his birthday. He had promised his two new friends from school that he'd go check out this new Beyblading arena that just opened. See three weeks ago, Max moved from Japan as his father served in the U.S. Air Force and had to stationed over there for 4 years. That time in Japan came to an end after three weeks on the February 19th, Max's dad had gotten orders from his higher-ups to move back to the United States, to North Carolina to be more specific. A small town in North Carolina named Stallings. The two came to the United States, bought their new home and slowly settled in. Michael eventually looked for nearby middle schools to quickly enroll Max, as it was only February, school was still in session. Max had been enrolled in a school called Western Union Middle School and settled in surprising quickly, making two new friends within the span of three days.

That new Beyblade arena was set to open on February 28th, which coincidentally happened to be Max's birthday. But before Max could start heading there, he had to go see what his father had gotten him for his birthday. Max slid down the set of stairs, zipping up his jacket at the same time, zooming to the back door. Near the door, he snatched some blue and white Converse shoes that were laying on the floor and quickly threw them on. Once he had his footwear, he threw his blue hood over his dark curls, flinging the door open and gleefully stomping off to the shed. Max looked up at the sky as the rain gently landed on his face, stopping at a red, white framed door with a brass door knob. He turned the knob and entered the shed, inside it was a nice furnished shed, complete with running air/ heat, four windows (two on the front of the shed and two on the back), a cedar wardrobe with double doors, nice bright-warm lighting as well as a cedar wood table along with four matching chairs.

Michael was inside waiting for Max, sitting in one of the chairs, gesturing for Max to come over and sit. Max closed the door behind him, strolling over to an empty chair beside his father. As he sat down, Michael looked at him while holding a small, wooden black box that sort of looked like those little jewelry boxes for rings. Michael placed the box on the table and called out, "Son, I have something here that has been in our family- the Heath family for quite some time now." "This thing has been passed down for centuries and it's something I would like to pass down to you." I hope that you will take care of it and cherish it.", Michael exclaimed. Then Michael took the box and slowly opened it, streaks of blue light enveloped the room. Shielding his eyes from the light, Max carefully looked to see what exactly was inside the box and was shocked at what he'd seen. "DAD! That's a Bit-Chip! But what's up with it?!", Max questioned."Why is it producing all this blue light?" Suddenly the blue light had began to fade away. "This light feels strangely familiar….", Max exclaimed. Once the light dissipated, Max looked at the Bit-Chip more closely. "HEY! THAT LION! I SAW THAT LION IN MY DREAM LAST NIGHT!!", Max yelled. "I know.", replied Michael. "Huh? How do you know that dad?", asked Max. "Because, this lion--this Bit Beast, has a special connection with our family", Michael said. "Bit Beast??" "What the heck is a Bit Beast, dad?", Max asked.
