Beetle had never felt so many emotions at once. Her mind was driving her crazy. Beetle paced around, waiting for even one of the dragonets to wake up. She drew circles on the sand until she heard Glory sitting up.
"Morning," Beetle welcomed her.
"Morning," Glory replied, glancing at the rising sun, "You wake early." Beetle shrugged and shook the sand of her claws.
"We should wake the others," Beetle suggested, stepping towards the sleeping dragons.
"Yes!" Glory cried, lunging towards Tsunami.
"Wake up!" Glory sang, rolling Tsunami around in the sand.
"Glory!" Tsunami hissed, flicking out her tongue at Glory.
"Huh?" Starflight mumbled, sitting up and looking confused.
"Morning," Beetle smiled at him.
"Hi," Starflight said.
"Is Clay awake?" Beetle asked him.
"Yes!" Clay called, "Just waiting for Glory and Tsunami to stop!" Glory and Tsunami immediately step, trying to look innocent.
"Come on, slow camels!" Beetle yelled, "Let's go!" Tsunami looked confused.
"To Blaze?" Tsunami asked. Beetle glanced at Glory and Starflight, who both nodded.
"Yup," Beetle confirmed, "Come on." Everyone lifted up and started flying.
"Ahh, the sun," Glory sighed, spreading her wings and turning yellow and blue. She looked at Beetle and rolled her eyes as she gestured at Tsunami's furious face, looking down. Beetle shot her a smile and tried not to giggle.
"You mean, eww, the sun!" Tsunami said, frowning at Glory, who smirked.
"Eww, the sun," Glory mimicked. Tsunami looked as if she was about to burst out of anger.
"Glory," Clay said warningly.
"Be happy!" Beetle told Tsunami, "You're gonna be a saviour!"
"Yay," Tsunami cheered sarcastically. Beetle glared at Tsunami and flew up a higher air current, flying alongside Starflight.
"Hey there," Beetle said to him.
"Hey," Starflight smiled back, "Tsunami annoying you?"
"Uh huh," Beetle shook her head disappointedly, "I don't think she likes me."
"She does," Starflight reassured her, "She acts like that with Clay and she loves him. As a brother." Beetle blinked at Starflight and lifted her head to feel the wind whip her face.
"Thanks," Beetle told him sweetly, "I don't know many who would say something like that." Starflight looked flustered before Beetle flew ahead to get there faster.
After a while, Beetle finally spotted the fortress in the distance and flew lower to get a better view. It was huge, surrounded by frozen dirt. Smoke came from the chimneys that lifted into the air.
"There it is," Beetle commented, turning her head to see the dragonets of destiny all slowing down, looking worried.
"Beetle, stay back," Tsunami called.
"Why?" Beetle asked, "Blaze wouldn't hurt us."
"We've been captured by the other sisters," Starflight explained, his eyes inspecting the building.
"They don't have the best reputation with us," Glory said, frowning at Starflight and Tsunami.
"But we'll be careful with Blaze," Clay said.
"I should go," Glory suggested, "I can camouflage myself and be an Icewing." Starflight and Clay exchanged worried looks.
"No!" Tsunami growled, "I should go."
"You?" Glory laughed, "You're on the other side of the war. They'd kill you!"
"I wanna go," Beetle called, "I'm a Sandwing!"
"Barely," Glory muttered. Beetle looked down, a sad look in her face. Starflight frowned at Glory and brushed Beetle's wing.
"We should all go," Clay pushed.
"I'll be fine," Glory rolled her eyes.
"I think Glory can do it," Beetle spoke up. Glory gave her a surprised and grateful look.
"Okay," Clay retreated.
"Good luck!" Beetle called as Glory lifted off and light blue appeared on her body. Beetle gasped as she looked just like an Icewing.
"Wow," Beetle said. Tsunami grinned at Beetle.
"I know. When we played hide and seek and didn't fight, she'd always use her scales. It was so annoying!" Tsunami snickered. Clay chuckled and Starflight allowed a relaxed smile on his face.
"They were so silly," Starflight mused.
"But fun," Clay added, jumping into dirt and sending specks of frozen dirt in the rest of their faces.
They waited for a while before Glory landed beside them. A sleek Sandwing landed, spreading her wings for effect.
"Hello," The Sandwing greeted them warmly, "I'm Blaze."
"Hi," Beetle welcomed her. Blaze gave her a confused look before smiling sweetly.
"Uh huh. And I'm Glory," Glory said with amusement in her voice when she became a forest green and Blaze yelped in surprise.
"My, my! I didn't know!" Blaze cried, taking one of Glory's wings. She let out a happy yelp.
"Yeah, so pretty," Tsunami said dryly, "I bet you wanna be a Rainwing too."
"Yes!" Blaze agreed, not noticing Tsunami's sarcasm.
"Hello," Clay called, almost tripping on Tsunami's tail.
"Hello there," A voice mimicked and they all turned to see a Nightwing holding throwing stars.
"Now, goodbye," The Nightwing said with a smile, throwing the stars straight at Blaze.
