8197. Whoever decided to get a wolverine as a pet is in trouble.

If there was anything to be said about shipgirls, it was that each one had her 'quirks'. Phoenix and SoDak liked scientific experiments. Jintsu was a Star Wars fangirl. Kongo liked tea, all things British, and Admiral Goto. Hiei had her cooking attempts.

The less said about Iku's 'quirks', the better.

And the 'quirks' apparently extended to the animals that shipgirls thought would be acceptable as pets. Nagato's hamster Rex was probably one step away from being awarded an honorary JMSDF rank, given he came to work with her every day. Bismarck rarely let her beloved cat Oskar out of her sight; Admiral Hartmann commented the cat was more spoiled than Garfield.

Then there were the more…'unique' pets. Texas had her cattle herd. Kuma had her brown bear Ussuri. Maya had her pet monkey named Sergeant Bananas.

The animals the Australian shipgirls considered pets were in a league all by themselves.

And now it appeared there was another unique 'pet' on base. All animals had to be registered with the Admin Office upon being adopted, and today was no different.

"What in the world is that thing?" Wright looked at the snarling creature nestled in Montana's arms.

"This is Logan!" the never-built battleship happily replied. "He's a wolverine!"

"Logan?" The light carrier raised an eyebrow.

"Well, I originally was going to name him Pepe Le Yogi because another name for the wolverine is 'skunk bear', but Logan just sounds cooler. Plus it's way easier to pronounce."

"I see…" Wright didn't really know how to respond to that statement.

"Oop!" Logan wriggled out of Montana's grasp and made a mad dash for the nearest doorway.

Which unfortunately was Admiral Briggs' office.

Seconds later, a horrific scream pierced the air.

"OH, DEAR GOD! GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF!"

The two shipgirls ran into the next room to find the American admiral thrashing around while Logan latched onto his face like a Facehugger from the Alien series.

"Aww! Logan likes you, Admiral! Don't worry, that's just his way of saying hi!" Montana looked quite happy that her highly dangerous fur-baby was 'making friends'.

Wright merely sighed and went to call the medics.
