The magic digidestin chapter 29 the in-laws meet part 2 ( granger explains Harry's life)
Mr. Granger smiled at James, "Yes we have a floo and Padfoot and Remus are always welcome to come over. Though I think we should tell you more about your son's upbringing before the family reunion." Mr. Granger says to him.
James felt excitement at the thought of seeing his friends and brothers again, but he was worried about the look Mr. Granger had on his face. Lilly feels the same worry as James slowly sits back down and looks at the Grangers. She reached out and took James' hand in her own, "Please explain what has happened in our son's life for the last eighteen years." Lily asked softly.
The Grangers looked at the pair sadly, "The two of them have been best friends and inseparable since Hermione ran outside on their 3rd birthday after Harry escaped the window. After that day Harry would sneak out of his window just to see Hermione every night. It got to the point." Mrs. Granger started to get emotional during the description.
Mr. Granger gave her a tissue and looked at the young couple, "We tried to get Harry to come inside every night, but harry seemed scared something might happen to him. We knew on their 6th birthday exactly what he was scared of, so we finally said to him if he was going to sit there crying that he needed to explain why it has happened every night for three years. He finally seemed to trust we weren't going to hurt him and took off the rags that were his shirt and showed us what he has experienced." Mr. Granger says and Lily lets out a gasp at the horror of the abuse her son faced.
She wished she could bring back her sister just to kill her again more slowly and painfully. James felt the same as his wife, "After we saw that I gave him one of Mr. Granger's old shirts so he wouldn't be in rags. After we saw that we told harry he was welcome anytime day or night and that we'd leave the door open for him to get in. From age three to today they were best friends about two weeks ago we had asked to talk to the separately." Mrs. Granger says smiling at the memory.
Mr. Granger grinned, "I talked to Harry in the kitchen and my wife talked to Hermione outside. The conversations were about them admitting their feelings for each other. And then Hermione and Harry went and had a private conversation. Though they didn't go far so we heard Hermione ask Harry to be her boyfriend, and kissed him. The poor lad was in shock that Harry fainted, so we said if Harry's anything like any guy that's a best friend just asked them to be their boyfriend/ girlfriend. And well the rest is history." Mr. Granger said with a grin. James laughed at his poor son, and Lily remembered all too well when she finally agreed to go on a date with him and kissed him on the cheek. The portraits no doubt still talk about him passing out and being caught in Remus's arms. Oh, the joys of young love.
