This chapter became much longer than I had expected… sorry about that. Anyways, not much else to say other than what I've already said in the previous Phase. So then, on with the story where I left off.

Phase 2: Caught in Battle

January 25th, 71 C.E

Heliopolis Interior

The ZAFT forces didn't waste time as they move quickly around the colony through the service access-ways. They laid explosives as they went throughout the docking areas and other parts of the colony taking advantage of the zero-G environment to move about in almost complete silence. The chosen method was being used to try and not have too many civilian casualties from this operation. The colony's inhabitance unlikely knew anything about what the Alliance had been doing here, so why should they have to pay the price was the mentality.

The ZAFT team's ultimate destination was the factory district in this colony as that's where the suits were supposed to be around. The team found the access hatch that let them enter the main colony so that they could move towards their destination. Yzak harrumphed "Can you imagine the looks of shock on the Alliance personnel's faces when they get caught by complete surprise? They thought that hiding inside this colony would protect them, but they will be shown how wrong they are," said Yzak lowly.

Athrun frowned, glancing at his teammate before looking forward, not liking what was being done in this operation. He hadn't hoped to get into this war, Athrun hated the concept as it took his mother's life through the Bloody Valentine. Yet here he was fighting in one probably about to do the same to others. It felt so wrong to Athrun and it brought to mind what his two best friends Kira and Tyler would think of him now. Especially, when the last time he had seen the two, they had parted ways with smiles and words of good luck to one another.

The team came to land on the ground of the colony and moved to a hill that overlooked the place that their targets were supposed to be stored in. There looked to be a little activity around the factory buildings, but there was no sign of moving the prototype suits somewhere else yet. There did appear to be a couple of soldiers milling around the area, and there was confirmation between the team members of which individuals should be handled first. The observation time ended when alarms starting to go off and the ZAFT team began moving forward.

Meanwhile, on the Apitus within Heliopolis's main docking area, the crew of the ship was scrambling to their battle stations. That included the four mobile armor pilots as well, they put on their pilot suits which like the other factions was an airtight spacesuit that had backpack units, and thin chest units with equipment. Three of the pilots headed for their machines while Lieutenant La Flaga headed for the bridge. When he got to the ship's navigation bridge, he approached the captain, "Enemies," was his short question.

The captain kept calm, "Two vessels, the Nazca-class and the Laurasia-class we spotted earlier. We already have confirmations of mobile suits launching and making their way towards the colony," he replied seriously.

La Flaga huffed, "Great," he muttered before he activated his com-link in the neck of his pilot suit, "Krystal, have Dan and Gale board their Moebius units and standby for launch. Do not, I repeat do not let them go out just yet. We're going against enough problems without making more for ourselves."

"Got it Mu, they're already heading for them, we'll be waiting for you down here," replied Major McAlester.

At the same time, down below ground under the main Morgenroete complex, the new Alliance ship, the Archangel-class was also abuzz with activity. The alarms that signaled the ZAFT vessels were on approach and that said time was of the essence. The captain of the vessel was telling the crew that was with him in a room that overlooked the dock to not panic. The man knew if they did, all of them would be playing into their enemy's hands and would likely die doing so. Instead, saying that the colony's controller could deal with the situation and that the priority was to focus on making the Archangel ready to launch and there was an amount to do.

There was the need to do the final adjustments for the ship itself and transferring the suits to the ship being a top priority. All of it being done as fast as possible before ZAFT forces had the chance to interfere with them. Then not all of the ship's crew was at the dock yet, some were with the suits and others were on their way to the dock.

Mu made his way from the Apitus's bridge to the small hangar to where his three teammates were waiting. Two of them were sitting in their Moebius mobile armors, which were the current standard mobile armor model of the Earth Forces. Its armament consists mainly of projectile weapons and missiles, pair of vulcan guns built-in, and is often equipped with a linear gun as its main weapon. Krystal was getting into the cockpit of a different model of mobile armor which was the same as Mu used. It was the older Moebius Zero which was longer and a tad thinner than the Moebius model armor.

Mu sailed over to his Zero fighter, "We're going to be outnumbered in this, honest truth and no way to really dance around that," he stated. "That means keeping the dumb stunts to a minimum, understood?"

Krystal sighed, "Good advice Mu, make sure you keep it in your own mind," she said as she had her Zero's cockpit close and seal.

Their teammates snickered a bit as this kind of exchange was normal between Krystal and Mu. They had worked together more than a lot of Earth Forces pilots tend to, especially after the events that went down at the Grimaldi Front on the moon. They also had their armor cockpits shut and seal, Mu shortly did the same for his own Zero. The four mobile armors launched out to the battlefield that the area around the colony had become.

Meanwhile, Tyler was sprinting to the apartment that he had here on Heliopolis. He didn't take the time to dig out the key for his apartment door instead kicking it in before rushing inside. He snatched up the backpack he had filled with tools for several possible tasks, a pistol, and some clothes covering things so as not to arouse suspicion should someone glance into the pack. Then Tyler sprinted the way he and came and ran towards the factory district of the colony as fast as his legs could carry him. Along his way, Tyler put an earpiece that was connected to his com-unit into his ear to keep in touch with his colleagues.

Tyler did not miss the odd looks he was getting as he ran, he simply ignored them as he was focused on the task at hand. He was betting that ZAFT soldiers had made it into the colony and were going for the Alliance mobile suits. All they would need to do is distract the Alliance personnel and then move in, and Tyler knew it wouldn't take much to spook the Alliance by this point. The tension was climbing faster and faster seemingly with each pounding footfall that Tyler made. Tyler was about halfway to the factory district when the earpiece began producing a sound that Tyler identified as one of his teammates launching out in a Federation Delta space fighter. The teammate's name was Alan Knight and he would join Lisa in trying to keep ZAFT suits out of the colony.

By the time Tyler was just over two-thirds of the way to the factory district, there was a violent shaking that rocked the whole colony. Tyler kept himself from collapsing to the ground though he had to put for effort and grab onto the nearest structure. Tyler wasn't the only one to wonder what had caused the shaking for there were many people who had fallen to the ground from the rumbling. Tyler touched his pointer finger of his right hand to his earpiece, "What's everyone's status, was the colony just hit by an object on the outside?"

"No, I didn't see anything," Lisa replied, "Knight, Lascy, either of you see something?"

"Not a thing from my position chaps out here," replied Alan his north Euros Collation accent audible.

"Felt the tremor around ere lass, think they were caused by some sort of explosives, can't say where the charges were placed. However, mate managed to convince a good number of the colony controllers and operators to get out from control areas before the bangs went off. They say that two ZAFT ships are on course to come and bring trouble ere to the colony and they aren't responding to any communications," said Luke Lascy, his Oceanic Union drawl present.

"Okay, good for you Luke, get those people to a safe location, probably a shelter being the best choice. Then get to the third fighter and get outside, asap. Lisa keep a close eye on however many ZAFT suits are inviting themselves in. Alan, try to figure out where things stand with ZAFT forces' activities right now, tap into whatever colony system necessary to do so. Remember, they are trying to get to Alliance's prototype suits, so that would be a good place to start. Everyone, time is of the essence, move," Tyler ordered.

After giving out orders, Tyler resumed running towards the factory district once again. As he went, he took in the confusion that was sprouting up everywhere he looked. Tyler had only been going along for a few minutes when Alan's voice came over his com-link, "Old boy, the situation is bad," Alan stated, "It is expected but it is more than I believe any originally thought. That rumbling you felt was as Luke said from explosives that a ZAFT team set throughout service access ways around the colony. Sorry old chap, but with what I am seeing right now."

Tyler touched his com-link, "And the evidence that brings you to that conclusion?"

"I tapped into the surveillance system and… well, I will say that the main dock's control booth along with Morgenroete's dock control booth is in ruins and the dock below just as bad if not more of a bloody mess… do not ask for details, you do not want to know," Alan replied.

Tyler could understand attacking the dock to come in and take control, that made sense to him for ZAFT forces. Yet, for a ZAFT team to lay explosives that were meant to ruin key control areas where there would be people said that they weren't above doing harm or killing. Tyler could guess that the explosives that were around the development complex would likely get the Earth Forces personnel would panic. But it was still an extreme method to take and Tyler felt that there was still some information that was missing in the current situation.

However, with things as volatile as they were, Tyler knew that now wasn't the time to let his mind wander. "Listen up everyone, keep your eyes peeled. Lisa, Alan, I'm surer that ZAFT forces are not going to be nice in this, so keep those suits busy and outside. The less of them that get in the better, it would be wonderful if none get in, but I know that none of us are miracle workers. Still, I need to know what force that is going to be made up of, McGregor out," Tyler ordered.

Tyler once again resumed sprinting in the direction he had been going as the sooner he got to the factory district, the better he could try and make things safer for the citizens. Alliance personnel were likely moving their suits though Tyler knew that it would be better if they didn't since the Morgenroete complex was a more defendable position. To move what a force is protecting from another group out into the open invites trouble, Tyler had seen how the idea worked more times than he would admit.

Tyler felt there were enough problems and issues to deal with that shouldn't be occurring in the first place. What was frustrating Tyler was that neither Alliance personnel nor ZAFT forces were seeming to care what happens to the colony's citizens. Only the members of the Federation's investigation team were doing what they could to mitigate injury to the colony's inhabitance. People inside the colony had begun heading to the emergency shelters that were built in case of a serious threat to their lives.

It took Tyler around eight minutes to reach the factory district and he saw it was the definition of chaos and disorder currently. People were running around, lying on the ground either dead or too injured to do much. As much as it pained Tyler, he ignored the people and made his way towards the complex interior. The view of three of the five prototype suits being moved and escorted on their transport trailers wasn't missed by Tyler. He assumed that the Alliance personnel were trying to get the machines to their ship in the dock under Morgenroete.

Tyler used what cover he could find to get closer to the main factory hoping he could find something to work with. He wasn't kidding himself, Tyler knew that the Alliance's suits wouldn't make it to their ship without attempts to steal them being done. In fact, Tyler spotted space-suited soldiers coming down towards the group escorting the suits in suits that ZAFT forces wear.

Tyler took out his pistol as he kept moving towards the main factory, doing his best to attract the least amount of attention to himself. The sound of gunfire and explosive blasts quickly became heard from the direction of the suits' transports as Tyler went. He got to the main factory building itself when the noise that was the sound of metal being twisted and ripped came to Tyler's ears. Tyler twisted around to get a view of the progression of events that was the ZAFT team versing Earth Forces personnel. Those defending the machines were giving a large effort and that had to be said for them, but the ZAFT team was still forcing them back.

Then one of the suit's main optics flashed, and the unit began to moving and produce the whining of metal as it rose. When the mobile suit got out of the transport and stood on its legs it had a height of slightly under nineteen meters. Of course, Tyler had gotten some views of the Alliance's suits during the times he had been doing his part of the investigation, but this was the closest view he had gotten yet. And a major difference that he saw with this suit from previous ones as it had two forward-facing optic arrays where pretty much all before utilized one array. So this gave the mobile suit a more humanistic way to view the world outside Tyler would guess.

The particular suit that had risen was grey overall, but according to the information the team had acquired, the color could change due to an onboard defensive system. The unit Tyler viewed had its left arm covered in bulkier plating with two long cannon barrels connected to the rear of the suit. The head section of the suit was more human-looking than previous suits possessed even had what appeared to be a rough face on it. For armaments, this titan had two different ideas to work with but the overall theme they shared was artillery. The first and most obvious weapon was two cannons mounted to the back of the suit which could swing forward for use. There were then missile pods on either shoulder and Tyler recalled that the intended designation for the machine was GAT-X103 Buster.

Just as the Buster got to its feet, another began moving and getting out of its transport. The suit had risen after the Buster was also grey overall for the same reasons the previous machine was. The unit was armored moderately over its entire framework nothing protected more than another place. The head section of the suit like the Buster looked human-like with a face on it. There were also two antennae-like fins one on either side of the center of the head going up and back just above the face itself. For armaments, this titan had a rifle and shield, but nothing else visible for weapons or defenses. That likely made the suit one of those that was designed with general tasks in mind. As Tyler believed according to his teammate Alan Knight the intended designation for the titan was GAT-X102 Duel.

With the two suits activated Tyler wasted no more time and slipped inside the factory and none seemed to notice him doing so. Inside the factory, Tyler found himself on the main work and development floor. He scanned around to find something he could work within this situation as things were getting worse by the minute. The factory floor was a mess showing that there had been fighting inside the factory but not as bad as outside though. Tyler knew the basic layout of the floor as he had been around this area doing his job with the journalist while in reality studying what was being done. He made his way deeper into the factory seeing the other two prototype suits of the Alliance were still inside.

Tyler could see using them but wanted to avoid the risk that taking them as there were issues with that action and Tyler knew that. So, Tyler kept moving forward in hopes that there may be something else here to work with. And it was at the back of the factory that Tyler came across two more mobile suits which he had never seen before now. They were laying in construction docks with scaffolding over them and appeared to be completely ignored. The one to Tyler's right was moderately armored like the Duel but also had a flight system in the form of a heavy backpack attached to the back of the machine. There was a shield on the left arm and a rifle by the right hand, but there was no other sign of equipment that Tyler could see.

The other mobile suit in the neighboring dock and was also moderately armored overall and had some similarities with the framework to one of the other prototypes called the Blitz. The equipment was different consisting of a shield with weapons combined and rifle. The shield was attached to the left forearm and resembled a tower shield with an opening at the bottom. There was a cannon barrel built into the shield and came out of the lower third of the shield structure. A rifle that appeared to be intended to be used by the titan was in a holding set up to be worked on right next to the machine.

The sounds of explosions and fighting were getting louder which snapped Tyler out of his slight trance he had been in staring at the suits. Then there were voices coming from above Tyler's position to which he whipped his pistol up as he spun around to face the owners of the voices. Tyler was ready to dive for cover if needed but also to pull the trigger and shoot whoever it was that was in the factory at this time. Nonetheless, Tyler was baffled and shocked to find on the upper level his friend Kira, and with him Lacus and the person in the brown coat who had been around Kato's lab earlier. Tyler could also see that the person was a girl and had blonde mid-length hair which was something he hadn't seen earlier.

The question of what the three were doing in the factory crossed Tyler's mind, but a somewhat muffled explosion behind him brought him back on task. That blast very strongly said that the fighting was moving inside the factory and that complicated thing in Tyler's mind. Tyler was going to sprint up the stairway to the upper level, but movement caught his eye before he could move.

Meanwhile, Kira and Lacus had been following the girl that had been inside professor Kato's office. Of course, they had wondered where Tyler had disappeared to, but after the alarms had started going off, worries about Tyler had been pushed to the back burner. It had been as Kira and Lacus had been heading towards a shelter that they had caught a glimpse of the girl again and they had followed her to the factory district. The sound of fighting going on had put the two on edge but, the girl seemed somewhat oblivious to what was going on.

The girl had entered a large structure that looked to be the main complex of Morgenroete. When Kira and Lacus had found the girl again, she was looking down at the factory floor where there were four mobile suits in construction docks. Two of them were towards the front of the factory yet the other two were almost tucked away at the back. As they approached the girl she spoke, "I knew it, the Alliance's prototype mobile suits." The girl sank to her knees, "Father, how could you betray us all!"

The sound of fighting was getting much closer than Kira was comfortable with, especially when Lacus was with him. So Kira moved forward and grabbed the shoulders of the girl, "Crying won't help you! Come on now, run," he shouted. The gunfire came up from below followed by the metal being peppered by bullets getting the three teens to move.

Tyler had been forced to whip behind equipment as the barrage of bullets came his way. A ZAFT soldier was shooting at Tyler and they had an assault rifle while Tyler had a simple pistol. Tyler still shot back when lulls came when his opponent had to reload their weapon, and the first two times that Tyler returned fire, he missed. Yet on the third exchange, Tyler did get in a shot that shattered the visor on the helmet of the pilot suit the individual had on. The soldier collapsed to the ground before Tyler approached slowly, gun still at the ready. When Tyler got close, he saw that his shot had put a hold in the guy's forehead, Tyler lowered his pistol.

Outside, two of the Alliance's suits had risen and been moving shakily and in jerks, while a third titan was getting up out of its transport. The third was humanoid in the frame with the upper legs and shoulders were bulkier than what the other two suits it was by. "Very impressive," muttered Yzak as he got the Duel he was in to move forward. He cursed a bit as the jerking that was caused by the OS having issues came into play. "Dearka, how about yours, other than the OS causing crap?"

"It's great, other than what you mentioned about the OS the Naturals put in it," said Dearka from the cockpit of the second machine. "Update activated, nerve links reconstructed and calibrations set. It'll move… not the best, but it's better than what it was," Dearka replied as the Buster took its first step forward.

"Nicol, what's your status," asked Yzak.

"Fixing the OS is taking some time, I'm about ready to build this from scratch truthfully," said Nicol as he typed away adjusting the OS settings of the third machine. "It's a mess and that's putting it mildly, but I'm almost there." No sooner had Nicol said that when he finished, and the Blitz suit stood at its full height.

"Have we heard from Athrun and Rusty," asked Dearka. "They're taking their time and we don't have much to spare."

"They know that as well as we do," said Yzak. "Stick with the plan, we leave with these three. Let's get them to Commander Creuset before they get damaged and the sacrifices made are done in vain." With that said, Yzak activated the thrusters on his captured machine and lifted off, Dearka doing the same seconds later.

Nicol frowned wondering if maybe they should go support Athrun and Rusty. It had been a bit since there was anything heard from them, but he decided that they probably didn't need it as time was short. Nicol lifted off as well, following the other two as they headed for the harbor exit with comrades.

Back inside the factory, Tyler was eyeing the assault rifle of the dead soldier when screeching metal drew his attention. Looking ahead, Tyler got a view of the last two Alliance suits rising up causing more destruction of the factory structure. Tyler knew that things were only going to get worse, so he decided to take one of the remaining suits to work with. And he chose the second one he had seen to take as its weapon load-out looked to be what Tyler himself preferred. He swiped up the assault rifle and rushed over to the mobile suit he would take and climbed up the scaffolding.

Tyler made his way to the cockpit hatch and found it open, he wasn't going to say no to an opportunity like this. He hopped over the railing and dropped through the opening and into the titan's cockpit. Tyler took the time to adjust himself into the pilot seat and buckle the restraints belts in place and tighten them as he assumed that this would be anything but a smooth ride. After that, he scanned the controls noticing they were somewhat similar to other suits and some Federation machines. The switch to close the hatch was in the same position as it would be in a Federation space fighter to his slight surprise.

Tyler flicked the switch and the entry hatch closed and sealed shut before a light above him came on and gave some visibility to work by. Also, when the entry hatched closed, two screens moved from the left and right to cover the space forward of where Tyler was sitting. The two screens came together and became one display screen and were the forward optical display to use Tyler assumed. He pushed a couple of buttons and the OS began to boot up running through a system check. The process had a message come up on the screen as well:

MOBILE SUIT OPERATION SYSTEM

/Version NV8 - N099/

General

Unilateral

Neuro - Link

Dispersive Autonomic

Maneuver

G.U.N.D.A.M Synthesis System

O.M.N.I. Enforcer

Looking over the screens in the cockpit, Tyler spotted the designation for this suit which was "OIS-X209 Shadow". The OS was similar to the general one used by the ZAFT forces and the Federation's military at first glance. Tyler put in some commands to see what made up this operating system this machine had. He was curious as to how accurate information gathered hadn't said a great deal about the operating system itself. Both Alan and Tyler had been working on acquiring info on the OS but neither had much success thus far.

After the boot-up process finished, the overall system functions and tasks list came up on the front display for Tyler to see. For a moment, all he could do was stare in growing incredulity at what he was seeing. The reason Tyler was gawking in increasing frustration was the system was made from the work that Kira and he had been doing for Kato. Plus, the system was a jumbled mess, and it irked him to see what had been done to try and make an OS work. It came to the point couldn't help but vocally express his feelings, "What the hell is this?! Does the Earth Forces seriously think that they can run a complex machine like a mobile suit with a disorganized mess of garbage like this?!"

Tyler now clearly understood why Kato kept coming to Kira and himself, aggressively pushing the work onto them. The man had been desperate to get something to work with likely due to harping on the Alliance's part were Tyler to guess. But what he had come up with was still akin to junk slapped together or that's what Tyler was thinking. The question Tyler had was Kato simply throwing what he got from both Tyler and Kira together hoping it would work. It was a foolish notion, but that's what fit the best at the moment with what Tyler was seeing on the screen.

A heavy exhale escaped Tyler before he quickly found a keyboard to work with to do what he could to make the OS usable. The next minute Tyler used to see what exactly he was dealing with and he was further appalled at the structure and organization the system had or was in his opinion lacking. The OS that the Earth Forces were trying to make at this stage would more screw the pilot inside than help them. Tyler couldn't figure out what the methodology was for the system for it was more like things were smashed together. Of course, had Tyler been able to confirm that Kato had been using Kira and himself to attempt to make an OS then he would have refused to do the work. Instead, Tyler sighed and began the down to the process of making the system work as best as he could possibly get it to. As he did so, Tyler began muttering to himself about what he needed to do, "Let's see, to fix this mess without ripping out everything tempting as it is, but time is of the essence, so starting with the targeting calibrations, reset them to 0.153 to dynamically adjust from there in sync with the OCL."

Tyler continued to type furiously adjusting and fixing the programming to work together, "Connect the control interface unit to the magna-ion pump to help streamline controls input to system command execution. Then to help that along, reconstruct the neural linkage network and update the meta-active field for stabilization and feed forward controls to convey functions. Adjust Measlia deviation and connect to the motion routines to maintain smooth movement response. Set energy output to a flow rate starting at 45 to 50% to adjust from there," Tyler was muttering as he kept typing away making the changes to the suit's OS. "That should do it, applying system updates and restarting the main system," he stated.

The OS fully rebooted and came up running better and smoother with the updates that Tyler had made. Tyler moved the keyboard back to its stored position and then grabbed the control sticks and had his feet on the actuator plates. The surrounding displays came up giving Tyler a panoramic view of the outside of the machine. The unit's hydraulics hummed into life and there came a screeching of metal being twisted and forced out of position as the dock scaffolding was pushed out of the way. The machine Tyler was in began to rise and the orientation of the cockpit began to change to keep him facing forward as the machine got to its feet.

At the same time, after having dropped the girl off in a shelter, Kira with Lacus right him returned to the factory. The next closest shelter was on the other side of the factory since the one that the girl had gone into was full, Kira and Lacus couldn't go in too. The two were on the upper levels of the factory when there was crashing as the front wall of the structure collapse as two suits left the building. But Kira came to a stop as a sight caught his attention on the floor below that wasn't the suits.

Lacus stopped when she noticed that Kira wasn't with her and turned back and saw him staring. She followed his gaze and to her shock, she saw none other than Tyler himself down on the level below. Tyler after gazing at where the front wall had been, then turned and ran for a dock that contained another mobile suit in it. He climbed the scaffolding and made his way to above the cockpit and then swung over the railing and dropped into the machine.

Kira headed to the nearest set of stairs downward and Lacus was on his tail within a few steps. By the time the two had gotten down to the ground floor, the hatch to the suit Tyler had dropped into had closed and sealed. Yet, both Lacus and Kira had noticed there was a second suit in a dock next to the one Tyler was in. Lacus came up by Kira and grabbed an arm, "Kira," she whispered.

Kira looked back at the gray machine in front of them looking to be coming to a decision of what to do. However, there was a hum from their left and when they turned that way, they saw the mobile suit's eyes flash on before it began to move. Tyler's machine rose to its feet and then shortly bent down grabbed a rifle that had been nearby and attached it to the right upper leg. Then the suit started walking forward one step at a time towards the front of the factory.

Kira sighed and looked back at Lacus, "We don't have much of a choice at this point," he said softly as much to himself as to her. "Come on Lacus, we need to get out of here quickly before either of us get hurt."

Lacus nodded, "And Tye may need help," she agreed. "He is trying to help stop the fighting to prevent people from getting hurt, that's how he is."

Kira helped Lacus up the scaffolding and they then made their way to the open cockpit hatch. He assisted Lacus down into the cockpit of the mobile suit before he lowered himself inside and into the pilot seat while Lacus was behind him. Kira buckled in and brought up the OS to see what there was to work with. And what he saw wasn't encouraging and honestly, Kira was flabbergasted. The system had portions that he found familiar as part were things that he worked on for Professor Kato and other parts were some of the things that Tyler did.

Nevertheless, the issue that Kira saw was the system was in fragments that weren't organized effectively and didn't work together as one system. This machine wouldn't work well if at all with the OS as it was currently, and Kira knew that right away. Kira found a keyboard and got to work on having something to work with to get Lacus and himself out of this situation alive. It took a few minutes but Kira to get the OS usable during which there was another blast ahead of where Lacus and Kira were. By the time that Kira had the OS working, he got the machine to get to its feet. With the surrounding displays, Kira and Lacus looked around and saw destruction and ruin. There was a hole in the rubble that had been the front wall of the building and there was a view of the outside through that hole.

Kira understood the methodology of moving and piloting a mobile suit, he had been taught the basics years ago. But knowing how something is supposed to work and actually doing the idea is different. Still, Kira got the mobile suit to get to where the hole was and exited the factory ruins not knowing of the journey he and Lacus were setting out on.

Hope you readers are liking the revision I've taken the time to make. Please take the time to write a review and tell me what you think of this story. As I said before, this is an idea that came after reading some of the fanfiction of Gundam Seed and watching the anime, of which I love most of the Gundam series. It is close and dear to my heart as it was one of the anime series that started my interest and love of anime.

These are my official custom mobile suit specs that I'll be sticking to throughout the story. I'll try to stay with the same consistent specs, so you can refer to these. If I add 'packs' or 'sets' I will list them by the machine they go with and then the pack name followed by what equipment comes with it.

Equipment and Features:

Mirage Colloid stealth system

The Blitz is the first mobile weapon to use the Mirage Colloid stealth system. In this system, a powerful magnetic field is utilized to hold in place microscopic prisms capable of blocking infra-red emission as well as bend visible light and radio waves around an object (e.g.a mobile suit). With the improvements done by the Donnen mechanics, altered heat disbursal from the thrusters and fixing the high consumption rate of energy. Like the Blitz, the Shadow is more vulnerable while the colloid is activated.

Long Range Targeting (L.R.T.) scope

The optical camera has a huge zoom ability which acts like a scope on a long range rifle and is hidden in the right side of the head. In the cockpit, a small screen comes out from behind the pilot seat and sits right in front of the pilot's helmet on the right side.

Phase Shift armor

As with all of the G Project mobile suits, the GAT-X207 Blitz is equipped with Phase Shift armor. When activated, the Blitz's color is changed from a light gray to a bright black scheme with red highlights. Phase Shift armor, when activated, renders the Blitz immune to physical attacks such as bullets, the GINN sword, or against missiles. However, Phase Shift armor continually drains the battery of energy, shortening the mobile suit's combat endurance, and uses up additional energy when it is hit.

Echo Trace Emitter

This system is designed to make the machine equipped disappear from sensors and not show up. As such long-range targeting sensors have a nigh impossible time locking in a unit with the system

Armaments:

"Igelstellung" 75mm Multi-Barreled Anti-Air CIWS

Mounted in the Shadow's upper chest, there are two "Igelstellung" 75mm multi-barrel CIWS guns. These light projectile weapons are used to intercept missiles and to destroy lightly armored vehicles, although it is classified as Anti Air.

Beam Saber

Stored in a compartment that sits over the right hip joint. It is a close-range combat weapon and can slice through any armor that does not have an anti-beam coating.

"Oscillator" 70mm Dual-Barrel Anti-Armor Machine Rifles

Hidden in sleeves on the outsides of the torso, which can flip out to reveal two "Oscillator" 70mm Dual-Barrel Anti-Armor Machine Rifles that are loaded with armor-piercing rounds. These projectile weapons are used to pepper an enemy unit with rapid-fire attacks.

Optional Armaments:

Barrier Shield

An optional piece of equipment designed to increase the Shadow's defensive and offensive capabilities, it is mounted on the left forearm. The shield does not have phase shift armor, so it is not as durable as the Strike's armor, however it also does not drain energy each time it is hit. The shield's major advantage is that it's heavy anti-beam coated and can block or deflect beam weapon attacks, against which phase shift armor is ineffective.

Beam Saber

It is a close-range combat weapon and can slice through any armor that does not have an anti-beam coating. The beam saber is built into the front section of the shield structure and when activated, extends 5' starting at the split at the bottom of the shield.

"Saruan" 80mm railgun

Mounted and built into the barrier shield, this weapon uses electromagnetic forces to launch projectiles at targets.

65mm High-energy Beam Rifle

Shadow's primary ranged combat weapon, it can be stored on the side skirt armor. The beam rifle can easily destroy a ZGMF-1017 GINN with one shot, but is mostly ineffective against suits with anti-beam coating. It has an additional handle that can shift to the side and is often used for extra stability when the Shadow is firing its rifle rapidly.

"Hallon" Beam Rifle

Attaches onto the back-left side of the Shadow's frame. It's 15 ½ meters in length and made up of two sections. The front one being two thirds of the length, and was the main barrel with side handle and lower handle and trigger. The back third of the cannon, which was the 'butt' of the weapon, has a battery built into it that was used to power the rifle rather than the mobile suit's own battery.

"Titus" Compact Positron Blaster Rifle

One of the two weapons that are build into the "Kale pack", it is similar to the Launcher Strike's powerful "Agni" 320mm hyper impulse beam cannon but uses positron energy like the Archangel's Lohengrin cannon. It is mounted on the right side of the Kale backpack via an arm unit, and held under the right shoulder when in use.

Linear Accelerator Shot Cannon

One of the two weapons that are build into the "Kale pack", it is similar to the Federation's "MAC gun" which Enterprise-class curisers. It is mounted on the left side of the Kale backpack via an arm unit, and held under the left shoulder when in use.

Equipment and Design Features:

Phase Shift Armor

As with all of the G Project mobile suits, the GAT-X105 Strike is equipped with phase shift armor. When activated the Strike's color is changed from a light grey to a white scheme with a bit of blue and red mixed in. Phase Shift armor, when activated, renders the Strike immune to physical attacks such as bullets, the GINN sword, or against missiles. However Phase Shift armor continually drains the battery of energy, shortening the mobile suit's combat endurance, and uses up additional energy when it is hit.

Astray Flight System

To increase mobility, the Asuka is fitted with a fixed "flight pack" derived from the GAT-X105 Strike's Aile Striker pack. The flight pack did not provide true flight but it did increase the suit's overall mobility, and allows it to fly for a short period. There is a second battery in the flight system that also extends the phase shift armor to the flight system

Hardpoint (added later)

Fixed Armament:

"Igelstellung" 75mm Multi-Barrel CIWS

The Igelstellung 75mm multi-barrel Close In Weapon System is a pair of head mounted Vulcan guns. These guns are small-caliber shell firing weapons that are designed to shoot down missiles and lightly armored vehicles, but are ineffective against the heavier armor of a mobile suit.

Type 70 Beam Saber

The type 70 beam saber is the standard close quarter weapon for the Asuka, and its equipped with two of them, which are stored on the flight backpack.

Handheld Armament:

Type 71 Beam Rifle

A prototype beam rifle, the type 71 beam rifle is a ranged beam weapon and fires an energy beam that is effective against most targets, such as mobile suits or mobile armor. However, it is less effective against craft that have anti-beam coating.

Shield

As an Astray frame, a physical shield is equipped for defense, it is mounted on the left forearm and/or handheld. This is the same type of shield as used by Strike and Duel suit, so is coded with a layer of anti-beam coating
Anti-ship Sword.

Developed based on the Sword Striker's "Schwert Gewehr" 15.78 meter anti-ship. These swords are shorter and do not possess a beam or laser blade emitter so as reduce energy usage. In the event that a beam blade is needed, the pilot can easily switch to the beam boomerang. When not in used, the swords are stored in sheaths mounted on the bottom of the OE150X IWSP Pack.

155mm Railgun

A pair of 115mm railguns is mounted on the IWSP pack, above the 105mm cannons. Railguns are powerful weapons that use electromagnetism and sliding bars to rapidly accelerate projectiles. Sensors are mounted on each barrel for high precision shooting.

105mm cannons

The IWSP pack includes two 105mm cannons at the front for long range bombardment.

Combined Shield

Although the Combined Shield has defense, range (Gatling machine gun) and melee attack ability (beam boomerang), it also causes the suit's center of gravity to tilt to the left when it is equipped.
