New Year's Karaoke:
(Karaoke time! Woo-hoo-hoo! So anyways, I've thought about a way to get the chemistry between Diane and Wolf and I figured I'd start with something simple. Anyways, I'm glad if u guys think the see stories are good. I just hope I'm handling the usage of the Gospel good here. Anyways, points to anyone who guesses most of the songs here. Remember, I do not own these characters except my ocs and the songs's credibility goes to their respective owners. Enjoy the chapter!)
Wolf was having fun, watching his friends and son have some fun for a little New Year's Eve party. Zeke invited his friends over, as well.
"Since when did it get so crowded in here?" Shark then asked. Wolf just chuckled, "Dunno, how many friends did Zeke make in the time we've been in prison?" Webs then said. "Weird, where's that raccoon kid you're hanging out with?" Webs then said, "Akio said he's visiting family, so he won't be back for a few new weeks." Zeke explained.
Piranha and Shark set up the karaoke machine. "So, are you and Mr. Wolf together, Diane?" Marshall's aunt asked.
Diane immediately blushed, "Oh, no. No…I-I'm not looking to date anyone right now…" she said, nervously, then turning her attention to Wolf, who was talking with Piranha and Snake.
"Yeah, the fact that you immediately turned to him says a lot, hun." Susie then said.
"W-Well, that's only because of the fact that you've been talking about him, Susie." She tried to deflect that statement, passively.
"Okay, okay, test it?" Shark said.
"Got it." Marshall cleared up his throat,
"…I'm not the one here givin' up…" Marshall nodded his head. "I think we're good to go."
Ari smirked, "Okay, it's time for the karaoke duets! Pick a partner and then pick a song!" Ari explained, "I'll call Mar-Mar!" Ari said, grabbing the ferret's arm. "H-Hey!" Marshall said.
Zeke looked around, "Ummm…hmm…" Piranha ran up to his nephew, "Sobrino! Be my partner!" Piranha said, "Uh, please?"
Zeke smiled, "Okay, what's the song? Did you wanna do that one you sang at the gala?" Zeke asked.
Piranha looked unsure, "I'm not sure. I haven't made anything new, so…maybe? I'm open to suggestions, I guess?" Piranha said. Zeke thought about it for a second, the two then looked over and saw Shark & Snake were partners for this one.
Shark sang, slightly off key.
"Called the police and the fireman.
I'm too hot!"
Snake looked a little annoyed with Shark's singing,
"Make a dragon wanna retire man.
I'm too hot!" Snake was decent at singing.
"Say my name, you know who I am, I'm too hot!
Am I bad 'bout that money, break it down." Shark and Snake sang.
Zeke and Piranha giggled at this exchange between the two.
Zeke then tried to think of a good song, "Oh! I know it's late after Christmas, but what aboooout?" Zeke pretended to whisper, "spspepspslslspspsppspsps." Piranha just laughed, "Hahahahaha…Okay, chamaco. Got a real idea?" Piranha asked. "Okay, what abouuut…" Zeke then actually whispered the song to his Tío. Piranha nodded.
(Montage!!)
Tarantula & Diane were singing something no one was expecting.
"Hello again, friend of a friend.
I knew you well!" Webs sang. Diane took a deep breath,
"Our common goal, was waiting for…
The world to end!"
Before immediately syncing up their song.
"Now that the truth, is just a rule…
That you can bend!
You crack the whip
Shapeshift and trick the past again!" Wolf was blushing, Snake and Shark looked at him. "Someone in love?" Snake asked. "What? No, no. It just uh…caught me off guard. I don't think my song could beat that."
(Next one)
Ari was clapping her hands as Marshall backed her up,
"Sun shining in the east
And I'm comin' from the west!
Fast forward to the speed of light,
I'll take you to the stars and we'll be all fine." Ari sang, Marshall switching it with her.
"Sun shining in the east,
And I'm coming from the west!
Fast forward to the 105,
They're moving ahead and we're looking fine, eh!" Marshall sang.
Webs was bopping her head to the rhythm, "Okay, then. It'll be your turns in a bit, what're you guys gonna sing?" Webs asked Zeke and Piranha. They whispered it to her, "pspspspsppsspspsppsspesppspspssp…" Tarantula chuckled, "What're you guys doing?!"she asked, Zeke and Piranha giggling. "Oh, okay, a calmer song." Tarantula said.
(Their turn)
"Okay, just gotta look for a ukulele version…" Zeke said, setting up the phone. Piranha took in a few deep breaths, "Ready?" Zeke nodded and smiled. Zeke and Piranha synced up their voices to the song.
"O come all ye faithful
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem…" Zeke sang, Piranha smiled,
"Come and behold Him,
Born the King of angels…"
They synced their voices together again,
"O come let us adore Him,
O come let us adore Him,
O come let us adore Him,
Christ, the Lord." Zeke said, while they waited for the next scene,
"Cantadle loores, coros celestiales
resuene el eco angelical…" Piranha sang, Zeke took a breath, trying to remember each word in Spanish,
"Gloria cantemos al Dios del cielo…"
They sang together once again.
"Venid y adoremos,
venid y adoremos,
venid y adoremos a Cristo Jesús." Zeke and Piranha finished their up song. Everyone else clapped, "Okay, be honest, was I off key?" Zeke whispered, "Nah, chamaco, you did great!" Piranha said, giving a thumbs up! "Okay, whose turn is next?" Zeke asked, "I think we switch partners next, sobrino." Piranha said.
As the two of them walked towards the group, Wolf chuckled, happy for his boy. "Did you like it, Dad?" Zeke asked. "Of course, kiddo! I loved it!" Wolf said. "Wonderful, sweetie." Diane said to her son, Zeke smiling happily.
"Okay, Zeke, me and you go next?" Marshall asked.
(Zeke & Marshall)
The families and Bad Guys were stunned by what Marshall had suggested for a duet with Zeke, especially with the bit of the slightly unsettling opening.
"Not gonna die tonight!
We're gonna stand and fight forever!" Marshall sang, "Don't close your eyes!" Zeke said the backup chorus.
"No! Not gonna die tonight
We're gonna fight for us together!" The next part they sang forever!
"Wow…guess I haven't listened to a lot of current things these days." Snake said, a little speechless at the song. Shark was crying, "You kids better keep living, dang it!" Shark was mildly shouting. Wolf patted his friend's shoulder.
(Shark & Webs)
"New Age, let's go discover!
This life is full of wonder!
Hold onto me, we're celebratin'!" Webs sang, harmonizing on the last bit, Shark beatboxing a bit with the interlude.
"So, Snake, wanna duet after the kids?" Wolf asked his friend, "Again?" Snake asked, slightly annoyed, but smirking. "I suffered enough with Shark, Wolf." Wolf looked at him, smirking. "Well, I know a good one you and I would like." Wolf suggested.
(Liv & Zeke)
"Cuz every night I will save your life…" Liv sang, she and Zeke deciding to pick a Sonic song as their duet.
"And every night I will be with you…" Zeke sang.
"But every night, I still lay awake in my dream of an absolution!" The two of them sang, as they were dramatic as they sang.
Snake, Piranha, Shark and Webs. "Is he in love?" Shark asked, smiling excitedly. "They're too young to date each other." Webs said. "The kid even say he has a crush on her?" Snake asked.
"Nah, but his mami and papi noticed how well those two get along." Piranha said.
(Wolf & Snake)
"Tonight, gonna have myself a real good time…" Wolf sang, Zeke cringing at his dad's singing voice.
"I feel ali-i-i-ive.
And the world, I'll turn it inside out,
I'm floating around in ecstasy, so…"
Snake pulled up his mic, "Don't. Stop. Me. Now~.
Don't. Stop. Me."
Their next duet was weird, "'Cause I'm having a good time! Having a good time!"
Diane just laughed, "Okay, now I've seen everything…" Marshall just looked weirded out, as Zeke was giggling at the cringe. "Weird, right?" he asked. "Yup." Marshall said, "Wolfy, let's go next!" Ari said.
(Ari & Zeke)
"Weezy Carter!
I'mma 'bout to go Peter Parker!
I'm Spider-Man, if he ain't me, he just a creepy crawler." Ari continued to rap while Zeke provided the vocals of the Spiderverse song.
Marshall looked on, smiling, cuz he made some funny and weird friends. But at least they're good ones.
"I…just…came to my senses.
I stay in another dimension…
Fear is nonexistent.
Suit up and swing through the city~." Zeke sang, while being dramatic about it.
"Annihilate…
I'm wide awake!
Be very afraid,
I'm in my own world, give me space.
I'm in my own universe, give me space." They sang that next part together.
(Wolf & Zeke)
"Ok, kiddo, ready to show 'em what we're made of?" Wolf asked, smirking. Zeke was beaming with excitement, "Can I pick the song?" Zeke asked, Wolf remembered the anime ending theme Zeke asked his mom.
"Sure, buddy. Let's do this." Zeke looked up the song and showed Wolf the lyrics. "Oh…so, I sing this set and you sing this one?" Wolf asked. Zeke nodded. They went over the lyrics and prepped themselves. Snake immediately recognized it as a pop song when the music began. The serpent cringed, "Gotta be kidding me…" Snake said.
Webster laughed to Snake's current dismay. "You guys got this!" Webs said.
"Umbrella at your side, it's raining, but you close it tight…" Wolf sang, Zeke raising his fist up. "'And how are you?' Purred a cat just passing through…" Zeke sang.
"Those heels that you like are soaking, but is that alright?" Wolf sang, with Zeke making a 'Nyeh' sound!
Wolf chuckled, "Let out a sigh for another day, the same as the last.
Come on, let's try, dye it blue and change it up from the past
Reflecting up from a puddle but then gone in a flash
Is it the most that you can dream or wanted to see?"
Wolf continued to sing, Zeke backing up,
"But look around." "…Dance up and down!"
"The world is now,". "…Still going 'round!"
"Just feel it pound…" "…We're skyward bound!"
"…Move at the top speed of sound!"
"Running to another day
I wanna break away and take the leap!" Wolf sang,
"Do, do, do, do~" Zeke sang, meanwhile, the rest of the Bad Guys were laughing their butts off. "This is hilarious on Wolf's end!" Webs said, Diane smiled as she was also laughing, though it wasn't because she thought Wolf was funny. "Ok, NOW I have seen everything…"
"…As we keep trying, we'll find
We're always singing the same tune!~" Wolf and Zeke finished the first set.
(Piranha & Webs)
"Welcome to the Hotel California!"
"Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)"
"Such a lovely face…"
"Plenty of room at the Hotel California!"
"Okay, Wolf, you did great up there." Diane said to him, Wolf slightly blushed. "O-Oh, you really think so?" Wolf asked, a little sheepish. "Well, I may as well compliment you for singing that one song." Diane gave a sly smirk, "I'll admit though, I'm a little disappointed." Wolf looked a little confused, "With?" he simply asked. "Well, I started hoping you'd ask to duet with me?" Diane asked, Wolf blushed a little more, mentally catching himself. "That's why I saved the last song of the night for you, Madam Governor." Wolf said, charismatically. Zeke and the other Bad Guys that singing looked on, grinning as they watched the two's exchange. "Ask her out, Dad! Come on!" Zeke whispered, hoping that that was what was happening.
(Wolf & Diane)
"Okay, folks. This is gonna be the last song of the night. We thank you guys for coming for this nice little New Year's party." Wolf said, "We hope you guys enjoy the last song. Sung by yours truly, and our lovely Madam Governor." Wolf said, diverging their attention to Diane.
The guitar started playing from the tv, Wolf fixed his jacket as he started singing.
"Loving can hurt…
Loving can hurt, sometimes.
But it's the only thing that I know." Wolf went deep as he sang, Zeke didn't feel cringe this time. The rabbit's eyes lit up with a twinkle, excited to hear his parents sing together.
"When it gets hard, you know it can get hard sometimes
It is the only thing that makes us feel alive~." Wolf sang, Diane smiling fondly. She felt a bit of nervousness before she sang her part,
"So you can keep me…
Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans,
Holding me closer 'til our eyes meet
You won't ever be alone…
Wait for me to come home." Diane sang, which stunned her duet partner. Wolf was legit blushing. She's…really great at singing, Wolf thought to himself, completely speechless in the moment. Wolf started to wonder why he didn't ask Diane to duet sooner.
(Okay, we're done! I hope you guys loved these montages of songs. And I hope the song choices were entertaining enough! It took me a while, but I hope it'll be worth it. I dare anyone to guess most of the songs. I have a few other ideas for some one shots coming, so I'm looking forward to working on those during Spring Break. Anyways, stay strong and awesome! Remember to be jammin' in the Name of the Lord!)
