Chapter 6

Disclaimer: I don't own the Dragonball franchise. Nuff said.

Gine, still in Zamasu's body, and Raditz exchanged relieved glances as Piccolo's attack disrupted Zamasu's assault. The dark sphere dissipated into nothingness, a stark reminder of the peril they had narrowly escaped.

"Piccolo!" Gine called out, her voice tinged with gratitude despite its unfamiliar timbre. "Thank you for the save."

Piccolo nodded, his expression grave as he moved to stand beside them. "Dende told us everything. We need to finish this quickly. Zamasu won't stay down for long."

As if on cue, Zamasu rose from the ground, his eyes burning with renewed fury. "You think one measly attack can stop me? I am invincible now!"

Shin, having recovered from the initial shock, stepped forward, his demeanor calm yet resolute. "No one is invincible, Zamasu. Especially not those who betray their own kind."

Zamasu sneered, his hand outstretched as he began to gather energy once more. "Then let us see how your words hold up against my power!"

Before he could unleash another attack, Gohan and the other Z-fighters joined the fray. Their presence bolstered the group's morale, but the gravity of the situation weighed heavily on each of them.

"Grandma, we have to take him down together," Gohan suggested, his eyes never leaving Zamasu. "He's too strong alone."

Gine nodded, her mind racing for a strategy that could exploit Zamasu's overconfidence. "Raditz, Piccolo, Gohan, form a circle around him. We'll synchronize our attacks and overwhelm him with sheer force. Everyone else, keep him distracted."

The four warriors moved swiftly, positioning themselves strategically around Zamasu while Krillin, Yamcha, Tien and Android 18 charged at Zamasu. Each took a deep breath, focusing their ki into a singular point of convergence.

Zamasu watched them with disdain, his arrogance unshaken. "This is your final mistake. Together, you will all perish!"

As one, they launched their synchronized attack. A torrent of energy surged towards Zamasu, a kaleidoscope of colors that merged into a blinding beam of pure destruction while the other Z-fighters got out of the way.

Zamasu roared in defiance, attempting to repel the assault with all his might. The air crackled with the intensity of the clash, energy waves rippling outward like seismic shocks.

For a moment, it seemed as though Zamasu would withstand the onslaught. But then, a small fissure appeared on his defensive barrier, growing larger with each passing second.

"Keep pushing!" Gine shouted, her voice echoing with determination. "We're breaking through!"

With renewed vigor, the group intensified their attack. The fissure turned into a gaping hole, and finally, the barrier shattered into fragments of light.

Zamasu staggered under the impact, his face contorted with pain and disbelief. "Impossible... How can mere mortals overpower a god?"

Seizing the opportunity, Gine lunged forward, her fist glowing with concentrated ki. She aimed directly for Zamasu's chest, her intent clear—to incapacitate him long enough for them to devise a permanent solution.

Her fist connected with a resounding thud, sending shockwaves through Zamasu's body. He collapsed to his knees, gasping for breath, his facade of invincibility crumbling before their eyes.

"It's over, Zamasu," Shin declared, stepping closer to the defeated figure. "Surrender now, and face the consequences of your actions."

Zamasu laughed bitterly, his eyes filled with hate and madness that scare Gine. "Never! I will rise again, stronger than ever!"

Before anyone could react, Zamasu raised his hand, a sliver ring on his finger glowed. A dark portal began to form beneath him, pulsating with an ominous energy.

"What is he doing?" Raditz exclaimed, his instincts screaming danger.

Shin's eyes widened in realization. "That's a time ring! He's trying to escape to another timeline! Stop him!"

They rushed towards Zamasu, but it was too late. With a final burst of energy, he vanished into the portal, the darkness closing behind him with a sinister finality.

Silence descended upon the battlefield, the weight of their victory tempered by the knowledge that Zamasu remained a threat.

"We must find a way to retrieve Gine's body and undo this abomination," Shin stated gravely, his gaze meeting Gine's. "We cannot allow Zamasu to wreak havoc unchecked."

Gine nodded, her resolve steeled. "I'll do whatever it takes to get my body back and stop him. We need to warn Kakarot and Vegeta and prepare for the worst."

As they gathered their thoughts, a soft glow caught their attention. Floating above the ground was a small, spherical device, emitting a gentle hum.

Piccolo picked it up, examining it closely. "This looks like some kind of communication device. Maybe it can help us track Zamasu or even reverse the swap."

Hope flickered within Gine, a sliver of light in the looming darkness. "Let's use it. Every second counts."

Together, they activated the device, its screen lighting up with a series of coordinates and encrypted messages. It was a start, a glimmer of hope in their quest to restore balance and bring Zamasu to justice.

But as they delved deeper into the device's secrets, an unexpected message appeared, its sender unknown yet undeniably urgent:

"Beware the shadows. The true enemy lurks unseen."

To be continue...
