When the people of Teyvat look up to the night sky, they see countless twinkling stars. To some, the stars are just specks of light and hold no importance. Others see them as the souls of those long departed. Some even declare that stars can represent the past, present, and future.

Nevertheless, it was the end of another day in the world of Teyvat, the night fallen upon its inhabitants getting ready to rest after a long day of work, whether physical, mental, or emotional.

Some dreamed of Lumine or the Traveler. If someone was asked how they would describe her, many would agree that she is silent, preferring not to talk much, and letting her floating companion do it for her. Strong, accompanied by bravery, fighting against divine beings many would never be able to go against. Unyielding, as she didn't back down when going against opponents, even when it was wise to do so. Another description of her would be bright, her battle strategies when she made some, but also the bright in her beauty (though this wouldn't be said and kept more inside one's inner thoughts). How her chin-length, pale blonde hair frames her near round face with two locks, and her fiery-golden eyes emitted both warmth and weariness depending on the situation.

She traveled to the seven nations of Teyvat in search of her brother. Whether she had found him or not, they would never know, for she had ultimately announced her sudden departure: to where? the mortals would never know, while the divine could only speculate that she had gone beyond the celestial atlas. Some recalled seeing a bright light traveling the night sky, going farther and farther away, fading into the embrace of the dark sky, becoming one of the shining stars. Her departure caused no disturbance to the entirety of Teyvat's society, time flowing forward. She was deeply loved by those she befriended, or considered a hindrance by those who she went against.

The world of Teyvat was governed by gods, divine beings with powers beyond what mortal's could ever think of attaining. Those gods governed their respective nations with their ideals. Seven ideals for seven gods. Freedom for Anemo. Contracts for Geo. Eternity for Electro. Wisdom for Dendro. Justice for Hydro. War for Pyro. And ▁▂▄▂▁ for Cryo. (Though it would be some time for ordinary mortals to realize that no Hydro Archon would rule the nation of Fontaine ever again. And for the nation of Liyue to receive a new Archon after the passing of their first ever one.)

The ideals of the gods serve as a guidepoint for themselves but for the mortals they ruled as well. Ideals that were used in the past, currently in use in the present, and inferred for the future. It should be simple… right?

Midnight has come to Teyvat, near all inhabitants resting for the next coming day. The dark sky with sparkling stars, and the sole moon illuminating the sky⸺ Bright pulsating light flooded the skies of Teyvat, their speed making the shine become sheen. It was like a meteor shower, the people in the land of dreams unable to appreciate the sudden beauty of it.

The same couldn't be said for the divine. Whether they sought rest after their leisure or hectic day of looking after their nation, was overridden with the sudden presence of something. They gazed up to the sky and saw the countless stars traveling through it, deviating from one another in clusters and getting closer to land, more precisely, to its various nations. They could conclude that whatever or whoever they were, were different from the previous visitors.

Were these stars auspicious, or messengers of a coming omen?

The world of Teyvat and its inhabitants were not prepared for what was to come.
