i've had to do A LOT of research for this story so it lined up with the canon story of hsm 3 and sharpay's fabulous adventure. from lining up when broadway season typically starts with when basketball season starts to rewatching sharpay's fabulous adventure since i don't watch it as much as the HSM trilogy, i kept all my notes/research here. so if anyone's confused about the canon stuff and where it lines up, they can refer back to this! (also, the reason why this isn't labeled as a crossover is because it won't appear on the regular hsm page so i decided to just keep it to one fandom)

Notes/Research

• Since Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure is set in the summer, this story is set in late fall/early winter and months after Sharpay and Peyton start dating. Also, it's right in the middle of Sharpay being in Alberquerque momentarily while she's helping Ms. Darbus and balancing college since Broadway season isn't near (the typical Broadway season starts around late April). Additionally, it's also set during college basketball season which would typically run from October/November to April (behind Broadway season, basically) and

• HSM 3 said that Sharpay is going to the University of Alberquerque for her "Performing Arts" degree and is helping Ms. Darbus with the drama department in the fall, so Sharpay's doing most of her college work online while occasionally flying in and out of Alberquerque to help out (and balancing it with being on Broadway).

• In Zeke's spare time, he's managing the family bakery while going to basketball practice with Chad (HSM 3 doesn't disclose what college Zeke goes to so I decided to pair him with Chad and Sharpay to say he goes to U of A. The reason why he's so surprised to see Sharpay is because he didn't know she moved to New York and went online for college. No wonder he stopped seeing her on campus).

• Makes sense to give Sharpay a penthouse in Albuquerque when she's temporarily there since in her movie she gets kicked out of hers in New York, for Tiara to be back since she's (possibly) matured after East High's Class of '08, and for Peyton to stay in New York to look after Sharpay's studio apartment.

• Tiara going after Zeke makes slight sense since she tried to steal Sharpay's spotlight in HSM 3 (plus I had that exact subplot in "Finally, She Likes Me"), and makes more sense since Sharpay's with Peyton at the beginning of the story.

• Canonically, Ryan is gay (a well-known fact but for those who don't know, Kenny Ortega finally confirmed it a few years back) so it makes sense to have him be openly himself after the events of HSM 3. Additionally, his musical tour has concluded and he's back in New York to continue his studies through Julliard, how fitting for the subsequent love interest who's also in New York.

• Since this is set a year after graduation, all characters are unable to drink alcohol due to the legal age requirement. More specifically on Sharpay's end, she'd would love to taste test all kinds of wine but is limiting herself responsibly, of course.

• Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure released in April of 2011, months before the iPhone 4s came out. So it makes sense for her to have at least the iPhone 4 (she'd have Twitter to tweet about herself, Instagram for cute pics, Pinterest for her clothing boards, Facebook to update her status, Tumblr to blog posts privately, and YouTube to share updates about her live/vlog). For Zeke, it feels like he'd have a Samsung Galaxy S 2 (Facebook to check-in on his not-so-immediate family, Twitter to post random stuff, and Instagram to post his basketball skills plus his culinary skills).
