She had made to her cabin with minimal complications, finding it much larger then her old room. Once she placed down her things she realized just how little she truly had, barely anything to her name, she ignored this however and decided to focus on getting ready. The ship creaked as the waves crashed onto the hard exterior of the metal ship. Like an unrelenting assault, it shook her room in a way she was unfamiliar with, it was almost unnerving. The thought of an unforgiving nearly endless sea just past her wall. To think a water bender unnerved by the ocean, it was embarrassing, in an attempt to keep her under control and her bending limited commander Zhao had forbidden her to go near the ocean. To her this idiotic fear of the sea made her weak, a weakness she would have to snuff out, should she wish to stay aboard the vestle.
The morning had come later than expected she was used to waking up much earlier than sunrise, so she ended up exploring the ship in the meantime. The long empty halls stretched on throughout the ship, twisting to new sections all lind with the same cold dark metal. As she walked along the corridors, she heard the sound of her footsteps quietly clank angst the metal floor, though soon she realized she had heard more footsteps than just her own. Louder and heavier footsteps, before she could turn around, a hand grasped her shoulder. She flinched in surprise, turning around to see an unfamiliar face staring back. "Uuumm... look, I don't mean to interrupt your walk, but the crew is getting called to the deck for the daily task assignment, you might want to be there." And with that sarcastic remark, the man walked off. She stood confused for only a moment before rushing past him and to the main deck. She must have lost track of time, and she refused to be late on her first day. She ran through the ship until she reached the stares leading to the deck, she rushed up so fadt she almost tripped, catching herself just in time. She opened the door at the top of the metal steps, she looked out at the deck and the horizon surrounding it, the sky was a light blue without a cloud in the sky and the sea was calm, reflecting the sun in a way that left her mesmerized. She turned away from the water however, to see the crew gathering at the center of the deck. she joined them silently, getting a few strange glances here and there, but nothing more. soon once everyone was there she heard the people go silent as the door the the capitans control room creek open with three figures exiting its depths. The capitan, the prince and his uncle, the general, they stood there discussing something she couldn't hear before the captain took a step forward.
"Listen up, everyone, we are changing course and heading to Kyoshi island, intel states the avatar is present there," he stated with authority. " We must get there as fast as possible, Jiang Guanyu, get your men ready for a fight, Guo Zhen, prepare the war mounts and Ding Hut, get the other engineers to the boiler room, get the engine going full blast!" The captain shouted with conviction as Zuko and Iroh stood at his side, studying the crew silently. Soon, all the men began to separate heading down the stairs or rushing off to get to there post's. Yet she stayed looking up at the captain, having never received a task. The captain looked at her before his eyes widened in realization, glancing at Zuko's slightly more annoyed expression he turned to her, his voice still commanding yet coming out rushed, ever so slightly. "And you, go meet Ding in the boiler room, put your bending to use, you will be called to the planingroom in time." He stated rather flatly as he hurriedly moved to the side, with Iroh entering the control room, followed by Zuko, then the capitan. As they left, she swore she saw the prince give her a small glance, no, she needed to focus on her task, prove her worth. As she went back down the stairs and threw the halls, she followed the sound of clanging metal and the hiss of steam to what she could only assume to be the boiler room. She eventually reached the door that seemed to lead to the room where the sounds originated from, as she began to open the door, she had one thought on her mind, the words the capitan spoke before, it was time to put her bending to use.
