Update 1

Hello to all Amphibia fans out there! You're probably wondering why I'm writing an update on my fanfic, instead of having written everything I wanted to say in the footnotes of my latest chapter. That's because, for better of for worse, I was in a hurry to finish writing the fourth chapter and, more than that, I was in a hurry to finish the first episode, i.e. the introduction, of the story. I hurried up the writing process for a few reasons.

The first one was because, at the time, I was preparing myself to leave on vacation with my mother, so I had to speed up the fourth chapter in order to have time to help her pack our bags, plan our travel itinerary and take care of our accomodations without worrying about any unfinished business with this fanfic. In fact, I even saw the need to publish the chapter two days before leaving, because my birthday came up the day before we left and I wanted to spend it peacefully with my family without the same weight on my conscience. Indeed, our vacation took place outside of our home country: during these last few days I've been enjoying myself with my mother visiting London, where we spent one week, and only returned from our vacation in the capital of the UK yesterday at the end of the day. So, right now, I'm feeling too tired to dedicate myself to continuing this story for the next few days, and I'm going to take that time to rest properly from all the hassle involved in a vacation. On the same topic, it seems that I'm not going to spend much of the month of August at home, because I'm leaving my home, again, on another vacation in a few days, this time with my father. xD We're also leaving our home country to spend 3 weeks away travelling through Italy. So, yeah, this vacation will keep me from returning to my writing projects until mid-September.

The second main reason is because I'm focusing on finishing my university studies, which still haven't ended for me, since I'm in the middle of getting a Master's degree in General Philosophy. I've already completed the main subjects of this course, but I still need to develop, deliver and defend my thesis. And that will take me a very long time to complete: I have until March of next year to have my materials ready, so don't expect me to have much free time until then to write this fic.

Reason number three is related to the fact that I'm going to have to search for a job, working within a half-time schedule in teaching Philosophy classes to high school students for the next school year. I know it sounds like too much workload, especially when I'm still a university student, but I feel that, at this point of my life, I need to enter the job market, not only to gain my own income and acquire some form of partial financial independence from my parents, but also to gain some real life work experience in the field of being a teacher: which is compatible with my job prospects for the future, since I want to be not only a university professor but also an academic researcher in my field of study.

And finally, reason number four, is that this year I'm finally going to start attending classes to get my driver's license: something I've wanted for a long time, ever since I turned 18 years old a few years ago, but never got the chance to get because my parents felt I wasn't ready at the time, both mentally and emotionally.

So, with the main reasons being laid out, you must understand that I won't have neither the time, space or energy to even think about the development of the plot of this story, much less to put it into written form for the next months. With this in mind, I ask all of you to be patient with my rythm and let me concentrate on the major projects of my real life before being able to go back to writing on this site.

However, putting all of that information aside, I hope you've enjoyed the final chapter of the introduction to this fanfic. Now that Carl has finally met Anne in person, and they've interacted with one another to find out about each one's origins stories and their goals, along with agreeing to help one another in their respective journeys, the real adventure is about to begin! What exactly awaits these two, as well as the rest of the Plantar family, is something you'll have to wait to find out about when I release the chapters for episode 2. Until then, stay safe and I hope you keep up with any updates I may post in the meanwhile. Happy readings from DarkSoul2000!

P.S.: Just a quick note about our main protagonist: if you're having some difficulties imagining Carl's voice, it might help to say that, whenever I imagine him speaking, I always picture Keanu Reeves as his voice actor, which only makes the character cooler in my view, since Reeves is one of the best voices out there in the cinema of today. You can also say I based part of Carl's physical appearance off of Reeves' portrayal of John Wick. :)
