Heyyyy...I know it's been a bit, but I'm back. I had a lot going on and kinda lost inspiration to write...like at all. But it's slowly coming back to me! To my great surprise...I had an update request for this story from Vince Basile Jr, so here you are! I'm so glad you're enjoying the story! Please keep those reviews coming...I appreciate them so much! :D
I don't own anyone affiliated with the WWE. I only own the OC Rosie and the storyline. Everyone else belongs to themselves.
Enjoy!
AJ POV
The following week, we're in New York City. Manhattan to be exact. Also, to which I learned is where Rosalie is from and currently resides when she's not on the road. SmackDown is being held in Madison Square Garden tonight, but also thankfully, there are no house shows this weekend, so I have her those 2 whole days to myself and I can't wait. I missed seeing Rosie all week after we parted ways Monday afternoon. She had Raw to attend to and seeing as I'm a SmackDown superstar, I wasn't needed again until Thursday, so I regretfully went home and kept myself busy.
I text Rosie, telling her to meet me in my locker room when she gets to the arena and that I have a surprise for her when she gets here. Her response pulls a chuckle from me, but I'm startled from my musings when there is a knock on the locker room door.
"Yeah? Who is it?" I call out before the door begins to open.
"Just me, man," Randy said, poking his head around the door before entering the room. His eyes land on the large bouquet of red roses sitting on the table in the corner of the room and a low whistle escapes him. "Those for Rosie, I'm assuming?" He asks and I nod my head with a grin.
"They are. Sunday will be a week since we became official, but I couldn't wait to give them to her," I reply and Randy raises an eyebrow in my direction, but the grin on his face tells me he likes my mindset.
"You really are crazy about her, aren't you?" He asks, putting his attention on me.
"Leave it to me to sound like a lovesick idiot, but yeah…I am. She means the world to me. I learned that she's from the city, so I want to take her out on our first date tonight after the show," I tell him.
"Yes, I like the way you think. And then you never know, maybe get laid afterwards…" Randy comments and I throw a smirk in his direction.
"You already know that's a given. I had my first taste last weekend after night 2 and lemme tell you…my girl is a wildcat in bed. I'm one lucky SOB in more ways than one and she's definitely going to keep me on my toes," I respond and Randy's eye pop out of his head.
"Rosie? Seriously? I never would have guessed with her. Congrats dude, seriously," he tells me with a fist pump.
Sitting down on the couch, I check my phone quick to see if I received anything else from Rosie before I put my attention back onto Randy. "Thanks dude, I appreciate it. Is there something I can help you with though?" I ask, looking up at him and he shakes his head.
"Nah, not right now. I was gonna ask if you wanted to talk about and strategize for our tag match tonight, but that can wait till later. I can see you have more important things going on," Randy replies, nodding his head in the direction of the flowers. "I'll catch you later, though?" He asks.
"Sure thing. When Rosie gets to work later, I'll hunt you down," I tell him and Randy nods his head once before disappearing. My phone pings, alerting me of a text message and I see it's from Rosie.
Rosie: I'm here, babe. Where is your locker room? This building is huge and I don't feel like getting lost.
Chuckling I give her the directions and wait for her with bated breath, anticipating her reaction.
Rosie POV
Thankfully, my station isn't far from AJ's locker room, so I drop my things off there first before making my way to him. I follow the directions he gave me until I come across the door that has his nameplate on it and knock on it loud enough for him to hear.
"Who is it?" I hear him call out and hearing his voice after a couple of days puts a smile on my face. I missed him so much the past couple of days and it sucked not being able to be with him on Monday night.
"It's me, baby," I reply loudly and moments later, the door opens and the entranceway is filled with my sexy boyfriend. He pulls me into the room and before I can even comprehend what's happening, his lips are on mine in a heated kiss, ripping a quiet whimper from me.
Eventually breaking the kiss, AJ whispers against my mouth, "I missed you so much, my beautiful Rosebud…so much," he tells me before pressing several more soft kisses to me.
"I missed you, too. Like crazy," I whisper back, wrapping my arms around his neck. Smiling up at him, I can't help but lovingly rub my nose against his. "Did you get here okay?" I ask AJ because I know he traveled from his home in Georgia. I only had to take a subway train with a couple of stops in between.
AJ pulls back some, bringing me further into the room. "I did, but I'd rather talk about you, right now," he tells me and moves out of view, revealing a huge arrangement of roses that sit on the table in the corner of the room. I gasp at the sight of them and look up at AJ with wide, shocked eyes before returning my attention onto the beautiful roses.
"AJ, what? What are these for?" I ask breathlessly as I approach the table, removing the little card that sits in it's plastic holder amongst the red flowers. I smell the roses with a smile before opening the card, reading it's contents.
Happy one week anniversary, baby.
I love you more than words can describe
and I don't know what I'd do without you
Love yours always,
Allen XoXo
I look up and over at AJ in shock and I find him smiling at me as he close the distance between us, wrapping his arms around me in a tight embrace. "Happy Anniversary, darlin'. I know it's not until Sunday, but I couldn't wait to give them to you," he tells me, leaning down to press a chaste kiss to my lips.
"I absolutely love them…and you. So much," I whisper against his lips, pressing a kiss of my own to him.
"Good. I'm glad. Which also brings me to, since it is our one week anniversary and I know this is your home town…so I was hoping I could take you out on our official first date tonight after the show," he voices to me and my eyes brighten as a large smile develops on my face.
Nodding my head rapidly, I reply, "I'd love to go out on a date with you, Mr. Jones." A large smile of his own graces his face and AJ leans down to capture my lips with a wet kiss.
"Perfect," he breathes, cupping the side of my face.
"And obviously, we both know we have the whole weekend off, so I was thinking we can spend the weekend at my place and well…I think you know," I whispers seductively as I let my nose graze his own.
A low growl emanates from deep inside AJ's chest at my suggestion and the blue irises of his eyes disappear when his pupils dilate. "I love that idea," he rasps out, pulling me up flush against his solid body.
"I thought you might," I grin, cupping his face with one hand while my other arm wraps around the back of his neck. "So what do they have planned for you tonight?" I ask AJ, playing with his hair once he guides us over to sit down on the couch. But instead of me sitting next to him, AJ pulls me onto his lap and I go more than willingly.
I see AJ roll his eyes at the subject, but I don't say anything about it. I decide to let him tell me what's on his mind to warrant the eye roll in the first place. After all, he did just open up to me a week ago and the only other person he's been cordial with is Randy.
"They're putting me in a tag team match with Randy," he tells me with irritation in his voice. I look at him confused because I know he and Randy have been getting along…or so I thought.
"Is that a bad thing? I thought you and Randy were getting along," I say, running my fingers through his hair in a comforting manner.
"No, it's not that he's my partner and we have been getting along. It's who we're going up against that's the issue," he tells me, tightening the grip he has on my thigh, pulling me in closer.
"Dare I ask?" I ask AJ, letting him take my hand and watch as he let's his fingers play with mine. I realize it's a distraction for him, so I don't question it.
"Gallows and Anderson. Michin is going to be with them ringside," he tells me and I can hear the pain in his tone when he tells me this. AJ looks up at me and I can see that the pain in his eyes matches his tone and I wish it was something I could take away for him, but that's something he has to do on his own.
"You miss them, don't you?" I ask softly, framing the side of his face to stroke his beard. I've come to learn in the short time we've been together, that it's something he likes and something that calms him down. So if it's a small part I can play to help him in any way I can…I'll do it.
"I do," he tells me solemnly.
"I mean, I know what we discussed, but if you miss them that much, go talk to them, baby. I know they miss you; Michin told me," I reveal to AJ and he looks at me with question. "Us girls talk, babe. You should know this," I tell him with a small grin.
"Of course, how silly of me," he retorts, "besides Tiffany, you and Michin are attached at the hip," AJ tells me and I shrug with a smile because he's right.
"And now you. But seriously, if you miss them as much as you say you do, go talk to them. Don't wait, sweetheart," I counter, petting AJ's hair before I tuck it behind his ear, pressing a kiss to the side of his mouth.
AJ quietly talks to himself and nods his head, "yeah…I will," he says and a smile grows on my face. "But I'll do it next week. I want you all to myself this weekend. No outside interference. Just you and me," he tells me and my smile softens.
"I'm okay with that," I reply quietly, wrapping both arms around AJ's neck and rest my forehead on his. "Do you want me to do your hair now or wait till a little bit later? I hate to leave our little bubble, but I gotta get to work," I tell him and pull back a little so I can see his face properly.
"I really wish you'd stay, but I know you can't. I'll come to you in a little bit," he tells me and I nod my head, giving him a hard wet kiss before I get off of his lap.
I take my roses off of the table and cradle them in my arms since they're heavy, then make my way to the door. "Thank you again for the flowers, baby. I love them and you," I tell AJ.
He quickly gets to his feet and gets the door for me, but not before wrapping his arm around my waist and pressing one last parting kiss to my lips. "You're welcome baby, you deserve them. And I love you. Now get outta here before I change my mind and not let you go; I'll see you later," he tells me and opens the door. I can feel his eyes watch me walk away until I'm no longer in sight.
I can't wipe the smile that's made it's way onto my face as I walk the halls to my station. Every person I pass compliments my flowers and it makes the smile on my face grow bigger. When I enter my quarters, I already have Dakota Kai sitting in one of the chairs, tapping away at her cell phone as she waits for me.
"Miss Cheree, you're here early," I comment with amusement when I scare her by accident. I place my roses on the vanity next to the one she claimed and before she even opens her mouth to scold me for scaring her, Dakota's jaw drops as she eyes the bouquet of flowers.
"Who? What? WOW! Are those from…?" She goes to ask and I answer for her as I begin grabbing my supplies, setting them up.
"AJ? They are," I reply with a happy grin. "Sunday is our one week anniversary, but he didn't want to wait to give them to me, so he had them waiting for me with him in his locker room as a surprise," I explain, looking over at her and she has a look of envy in her eyes, but I can see her happiness as well.
I have no doubt Michin told her and some of the girls about me and AJ. Which is fine because I have no doubt our relationship would have gotten out there sooner or later. They're probably just still trying to figure out how I tamed the cold-hearted asshole that was AJ Styles just a month ago. I'll never reveal my secrets!
"Girl, I am so jealous. I want a man to give me flowers like that on our one week anniversary!" Dakota exclaims and I chuckle at her enthusiasm as I guide her to sinks to wash her hair.
"You'll find him in time. Don't rush it, girl. He'll come to you. AJ and I kinda already had our own head start with our friendship. I may or may not have developed feelings for him while he was still married, so obviously I said and did nothing about it, but I was the one who was there for him when he was in his dark place. Even if he didn't want it. I never gave up on him like everyone else did when he pushed them away," I tell her and she looks up at me in question and I can see that look in her eyes as I begin rinsing her hair.
"But you guys are a couple now and he literally shut everyone out. How did that even happen?" She asks and closes her eyes as I begin to massage her head while washing her hair. "Rosie, that feels amazing," Dakota purrs before I can answer her and I quietly laugh.
"Simple, really," I shrug, even though she can't see it. "He had developed his own feelings for me in time, but obviously wasn't going to do anything about them since he was married. You can't help who you fall for, Cheree. I just happened to find my hunky, handsome Georgian boy at the right time," I tell her with a smile as I think about AJ.
"Well, I'm happy for you. Honestly and truly," she replies and my phone pings from my butt pocket.
"Thank you, Cher…that means a lot to me….really. Gimme just a sec to see who this is," I said, wiping the water from my hands. I pull up my messages and see it's a text from AJ.
AJ: Hey darlin'. I'm headed to catering to get a protein shake before I start my warm ups. Do you want anything while I'm there?
My god, he really is the best. I can't help, but grin when he thinks of the little things like this.
Rosie: Oooo, can you get me a strawberry and banana smoothie for me? And have them add in peanut butter and blueberries. Please and thank you! :D
AJ: You got it, baby. I'll be by you in less than 15.
Rosie: You're the best. I love you!
AJ: Love you more, beautiful.
"Girl, that smile speaks volumes! You don't even have to tell me who that was…I already know," Dakota gushes and I can't help, but blush from her comment.
"He is pretty damn amazing, despite how other perceive him right now. They just don't understand him like I do and like I said, we created that bond when we became friends years ago. So I know he trusts me and I trust him. We just work, I don't know how to explain it," I reply with happiness.
"You're soulmates, Rose. He wasn't mean to stay with his ex-wife; he was meant to be with you…but only when the time was right. And obviously, that time is now, otherwise you wouldn't have found your way to each other the way you did," Dakota tells me and I can't help, but smile because I know she's right.
"Y'know…you sound like Randy right now. He told me something very similar to what you just said. Not everything, but to us finding each other. Maybe you're right…we are," I reply, grabbing a towel once I'm done rinsing the conditioner out of her hair.
It takes me about 10 minutes to blow-dry Dakota's hair. It may not seem like it, but this girl has A LOT of thick hair on her head. I'm almost jealous if I wasn't already in love with AJ's hair. She and I continue chatting until there is a knock on the door. I look up with a smile, knowing it's AJ.
"Smoothie delivery for my beautiful lady," he greets with a grin and I press a kiss to his lips, smiling into it.
"Hmm, thank you, baby; you're the best," I reply against his mouth, placing another kiss there before taking my smoothie from him and placing it on the vanity.
"You're welcome, darlin'," he said, pulling me to him by wrapping an arm around my waist before he puts his attention onto Dakota. "Hey, Cheree. How're you doin'? Ready for your big match tonight against Michin?" He asks before pressing a kiss to the side of my head. I can't help but look up at him with a smile as he keeps his attention on Dakota while she answers him.
"Hell yeah, I'm ready; it's gonna be a good fight," she replies.
"I heard my name!" I hear Mia exclaim happily as she bounds into the room. "Hey Unc! Whoa, it's a party in here," she adds when her eyes land on Dakota.
"Yeah, we were just talking about yours and Dakota's match later tonight," I reply with a smile and before Mia replies, her eyes detour over to the roses.
"What the? AJ, did you get those for her?" Michin asks in excitement, her eyes bright as they flicker back and forth between me and AJ and the roses.
"I sure did," he replies proudly, tightening his hold on my waist. "While I'd love to stay and chat with you beautiful ladies, I gotta get ready for tonight," AJ announces before putting his attention onto me. "I'll see you in a little bit," he addresses me softly before leaning down to press a gentle kiss to my lips. "I love you, darlin'," he whispers, placing one more kiss to me.
"I love you, too, baby. I'll see you in a little bit," I tell him in parting and then he's gone. I already know the onslaught I'm going to get from the girls the second I turn back towards them. It also doesn't help the large goofy grin plastered on my face.
"Oh. My. God! That was so adorable! Did you guys just say I love you to each other?" Dakota squeaks out while clapping her hands like a crazy person as she bounces in her seat.
Laughing, I take a sip of my smoothie before sidling up behind her and fluff up her freshly dried hair. "We did," I grin. "But you're in the hot seat right now, missy. What are we doing?" I ask, grabbing a brush as I begin to brush her hair.
AJ POV
Me and Randy are finishing up in the ring with our sparring when we get kicked out by the crew because they need to finish setting everything up for tonight. Grabbing the towel I brought with me, I wipe the sweat off my face, then hang it around the back of my neck before taking a swig of my water.
"So," Randy begins falling in step with me as we make our way backstage, "do you know where you wanna take her for your first date tonight?" He asks, taking a drink from his own bottled water.
"I don't know, man. It's a Friday night in New York City, but by the time we get outta here, it'll be almost 11pm. It does seem a little late to go somewhere that's not a club," I reply, wrinkling my nose at the thought of a smelly night club filled with a bunch of drunk people making fools of themselves.
"Exactly. Friday night in New York City; the city that never sleeps, Al. Maybe you guys can go to a quiet hole in the wall restaurant close to her place. I'm sure she knows all of the good places around here, after all since she does live here," Randy retorts and I nod my head because he does have a point with that.
"There is that, or I'm sure there is a supermarket open somewhere. I can make us dinner. I don't think she knows I can cook and I'd really love to surprise her with that," I counter and Randy nods his approval.
"That sounds like a win-win to me. Do you have a special dish you like to make? You could do that," he says.
"I make a mean chicken fettuccine alfredo. The sauce is made from scratch and everything," I tell him and he gives me a 'well there ya go!' look and I grin, now knowing how I'm going to spoil the shit outta my girl tonight.
But that grin is quickly wiped off my face when Shaun shows up outta nowhere and approaches us. "I swear to god, I'm going to commit murder," I growl out quietly to Randy.
Randy has a bored look on his face, while I have a look of annoyance, but if looks could kill…Shaun would be gone 10x over by now. "Well, lookie what we have here. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Say Allen, does Rosie know you're cheating on her with The Viper? Maybe I should go inform her of your infidelities," Knight goads with a chortle.
"Why you little…" I snarl out, going to lunge at him. Especially because he hit a sore spot, but Randy holds me back.
"He's not worth it, dude. He's just trying to get under your skin and you're letting him…ignore his sorry ass," Randy tells me, but I don't pay attention because the blood is pumping a mile a minute through my veins as my heartbeat pumps furiously in my ear at how royally pissed I am at the moment. Trying everything within me not to beat his sorry ass to a pulp right now.
"Does she know about your anger issues, too? I'm sure she doesn't want to put up with your constant mood swings. She needs a man who isn't going to change his attitude on her with the flip of a switch," he continues to goad me. If I didn't have my gloves on right now, I have no doubt I'd have crescent shape marks in my palm, biting into my skin.
"You go anywhere near her, Ricker and I swear to god that I will end you!" I spit out at him as I continue to fight against Randy.
"Seriously, stop. Go take your shower and then go see Rosie. Or go see her now, it doesn't matter, but don't let him get to you like this. You already know I'll watch over her myself when I can. She's got a ton of people who love her and will protect her; he's not getting anywhere near her," he tells me quietly and I know he's right, so I calm myself down…well as best as I can…and put my attention on Randy. "Go. I'll handle this," he tells me and I nod my head.
"Thanks man, I owe you," I reply and Randy nods his head in acceptance.
I manage to pass Knight without knocking him out cold and when I'm halfway down the hall, he yells to me, "say hi to Rosie for me!" But then I hear him loudly yelp.
"Would you shut the fuck up! Grow up, Ricker!" Randy yells at him and I can only assume Randy knocked him upside the head. Even though I don't drink, I owe the man a beer for that. I smirk, knowing I won this small victory.
Not wanting to be away from Rosie any longer, I go to my locker room and take a quick shower, washing my face and body in record time. Within 10 minutes, I'm walking into the room where she is stationed, but Rosie is nowhere to be found.
I begin to pace, panicking as to where she could be. I swear to god, if he touches her…I think to myself, but then I hear her beautiful voice fill my ears. "Hey baby, you're here a lot sooner than I thought you would be," Rosie says in happiness.
I turn around and close the distance between us, pulling her into my arms. Embracing her tightly, I bury my face into Rosie's hair and breath in her scent. "Thank God," I whisper, resting my cheek on top of her head, until she pulls back to look up at me.
"Hey, what's wrong? Is everything alright?" Rosie asks, framing my face and I can't help, but lean down and press a kiss to her lips. "Allen, talk to me. What's wrong, baby?" she repeats, but breaks my hold on her and closes the door behind us, locking it.
Rosie POV
When I turn back towards AJ, he's sitting down and looks up at me with a mixture of worry, relief and hate in his eyes. I look at him with concern because that is a lethal combination to have all at once. I stand in between his parted legs, but AJ pulls me down to straddle his lap. I pull his hair out of the bun he had put it into and begin to run my fingers through his mane as I patiently wait for him to talk.
"Ricker happened," AJ grounds out quietly and I release a soft sigh with a small shake of my head before resting my forehead against his.
"Baby, why are you letting him get to you the way he is?" I ask before pulling back just enough to look into his eyes and I can see the turmoil churning through them.
"Because he made our feud personal by coming after you and involving you when he never should have. He wants you, Rosie and he's not going to stop until I do something stupid to fuck this up," AJ tells me and I can feel his hold on my waist tighten as he pulls me in closer.
Framing his face, I force AJ to look at me, "you're not going to do anything to fuck up what we have. I won't let you. You're better than him, baby. I couldn't give two shits about him or his existence. I love you. I want you, baby and that's all there is to it. I belong to you and that's never going to change. He and I could be the last people on earth and I'd never touch him.
"So anything he says to you regarding you and me…don't believe it. Please. This, this right here," I say, grabbing one of his hands and place it over my heart, "it beats for you; it belongs to you, Allen and it always will," I tell him.
AJ nods his head and pulls me into a desperate kiss that I have no problem putting all of my reassurance into. "I'm sorry. I just love you, so much and I can't lose you. Not after…" he breathes out with a rasp and I quiet him with another kiss.
"Shh, stop. You're not going to lose me, okay? I'd rather die than leave you or be unfaithful to you. When I'm in something, I'm in it for good. You're stuck with me, Allen Jones," I grin at him and it earns me a quiet chuckle.
"That goes both ways, darlin'," AJ tells me and my grin broadens.
"Good. It better. Because I can't live without you. But I can also tell you, if I ever come across Darcy…her ass is mine for what she did to you," I reply, letting him know in my tone that I'm serious about my latter comment.
"I'll be sitting front row," he says with a massive grin of his own and I can't help but shake my head with a laugh.
"You're so bad, but I love it. And you. Now, come on. Lemme pamper and spoil the hell outta you with my magical fingers," I reply, wiggling them in front of his face before getting off his lap. With a laugh, AJ gets out of his seat and I follow him to the sinks where I promise him his special treatment.
