Chapter 4: The Kingston Kings

The day passed by and Sirena and Will's ship at last made landfall on the third of their six stops on their way to London by sea, that being Kingston.

After this were Nassau, the British Virgin Islands and then finally Lisbon before they'd finally make it to London.

"Man, it's easy to forget what land feels like after a bit." Will remarked as he stretched a bit, now back in the attire he claimed from Great Inagua.

"No kidding." Sirena chuckled as she adjusted her coat.

The Pirate captain decided to try and at least make an effort to still look like the intimidating buccaneer she was known as—despite the fact that her belly was engorged due to being three months pregnant.

Honestly, instead of looking intimidating, Will was pretty sure she was just turning every man who looked at her on. Though… it's not like he could blame them for finding pregnant women attractive. He certainly did, after all.

"Okay, what's first on the list?" The author questioned as he turned to his lover.

"We're going to need to restock some of our provisions, though the guys will probably handle that." Sirena replied. "Other than that, I did have a rather personal reason for wanting to stop In Kingston specifically." She continued.

"That being?" Her husband asked as they started walking.

"There's a pirate gang that's made its home here that I want to make sure that they know that they can't go poking around my turf." She woman told him.

"Getting ass kicking from a pregnant woman… That's gonna hurt their pride." Will chuckled. "But still, I'll help." He added.

"Don't get too comfortable." The shark woman chuckled.

(Later)

After taking a bit of time to try and find the crew she was looking for, the two soon came upon an old Shrimping boat that was fashioned to look like an 18th century ship that pirates typically used.

It was painted red black and yellow just like key west buoys, and on the ship, the two of them could hear hurdy gurdy music playing.

"Oh we're the pirates that don't do anything! We just stay at home, and lie around! So if you ask us if we do anything, we'll just tell you…" Several male voices could be heard singing on the ship. "We don't do anything!" They chorused.

"... Uh, I don't think you have anything to worry about from them.:" Will commented with a sweatdrop.

"… Wait a second, I recognize those voices!" Sirena exclaimed as she started fast walking towards the ship as it bobbled up and down in the dock.

"What, who are they?" The author questioned as he kept pace with her.

"Butch, Shadow, McQueen!" Sirena called as she stood in front of the left side of the ship. "Get off your lazy tails and come here!" She barked.

"What the–?!" One of the voices yelped before a male mutant Bull Shark in obvious bone armor rushed up to the railing. "Boss?! Is that you?!" He called in disbelief.

"What? Expecting another shark woman?" The pirate queen asked rhetorically. "Yeah it's me, dumbass! Now get down here!" She called.

"Okay!" Butch responded before he jumped from the deck… And fell flat on the dock. "... Ow…" He groaned rather comically.

"I didn't say jump down, blockhead." Sirena groaned as Shadow and McQueen followed by descending down on ropes. "Okay you three, mind explaining to me why you lunk heads didn't come looking for me after the mass migration?" She questioned, arms folded under her rack, which seemed to have increased in plumpness.

"We tried, but we lost your scent after a while, so we went our own way." Shadow replied. "Then we found some mutagen, and this happened to us." He added, gesturing to himself, Butch and McQueen.

"It happened to me too, but that was already obvious." Sirena shrugged.

"Did it also make you pregnant?" McQueen questioned, his bioelectric organs sensing the electrical impulses of their leaders' two unborn embryos.

"Nah. That was thanks to this magnificent man next to me." SIrena cooed in reply as she hugged Will's arm, the man chuckling in response.

"Since when did you get a mate?" Butch questioned.

"And why does he look so familiar?" Shadow asked.

"Sirena knew me when she was still a regular Bull Shark." Will told them. "As for being familiar, you probably read a book of mine or one of my other past works." He added.

"Yeah, maybe that's it…" Shadow nodded as he looked at Butch. "Should we show him what we found? Maybe he knows what it is?" He stated.

"Sure. Maybe he can help out." McQueen nodded.

"Uh, what'd you guys find?" Sirena asked with a raised eyebrow, which her lover shared.

"Come on." Shadow sighed as he whistled, causing a small shark boy with tiger-like patterns and brown hair pairs to lower a ramp down for them.

"Tigger!" Sirena exclaimed in delight as she rushed up the ramp and pulled the small mutant into a hug, which he gleefully returned.

"Sirena!" The tyke smiled as Will was brought on by the other guys.

As the two hugged each other, Shadow and the guys brought a box out to Will and opened it, showing a trio of eggs that looked about the size of an Emu or Cassowary egg, but they were instead a metallic Gold, Bronze and Silver color, with larger scaling than those of the birds they seemed similar to.

"Okay, this is weird. I've never seen eggs like these." Will frowned, completely confused by what he was seeing.

"We've been keeping them warm in our quarters for awhile now, but we aren't the ones who originally found it." McQueen explained.

"Who did, then?" Will asked.

"Our mates." Butch stated.

"Wait, you guys have mates now?" Sirena interjected as she walked up to them, holding Tigger's hand.

"Yeah." Butch nodded as he went over to the edge, and whistled a tune Will recognized as 'Leave Her Johnny', before some shapes popped out of the water.

Then three women with seashell bikini tops and seaweed skirts landed on the deck.

The first one had caucasian skin, blue hair and seafoam green eyes. Age wise, she looked to be in her early twenties with a swimmer's build.

The second had an olive skin tone, seafoam green hair and brown eyes. Age wise, she seemed like she was in her mid twenties with a matching build.

The last one had ebony colored skin, black hair, and amber eyes. She looked like she was in her thirties unlike the others but still had the same swimmer's build.

The one thing they all had in common was that they had scales on their skin colored dark blue, green and white respectively.

Another thing they had in common was a fish-like tail in their respective colors, one being that of a carp, the other a trout and the ebony skinned woman had a koi fish tail.

"Mermaids?" Sirena deadpanned as she noticed that the olive skinned woman and ebony skinned woman were notably one month pregnant. "You guys knocked up some mermaids?" She questioned.

"They were pretty insistent, and hey, we already had good chemistry." McQueen shrugged. "Plus, you're hardly one to talk. You already got a mate before us." He added.

"True…" Sirena nodded as they all went down to see the mermaids. Tigger immediately sat in the ebony skinned Mermaid's lap as she smothered him with affection.

"Did you miss mommy, sweetie?" She cooed.

"Mommy!" The boy smiled as he hugged the woman tightly.

"Yeah, that's another thing; The leader of these Mermaids, Oshun, adopted Tigger as her son." Butch chuckled as he walked up to the two, Oshun kissing him on the lips as soon as the moment presented itself.

"Are you doing alright, my love?" Oshun asked the bone plated shark man, cupping his cheek with a smile.

"Yeah. My old pack leader just showed up with her own mate." The bone covered mutant nodded in reply, jutting his thumb at Sirena and Will, the former walking up to her.

"Hey." Sirena smiled as McQueen approached the olive skinned mermaid and took her into his arms and kissed her.

"So you're the boys' pack leader." Oshun hummed. "Who might you be?" She asked.

"Sirena Morgan. Soon to be Sirena Turner. Pirate Queen of Great Inagua." The woman replied. "And this is my soon to be husband, William James Turner V." She added, hugging her mate.

"Hello." Will said in a polite tone.

"We're hoping you could tell us where you found those eggs we're trying to hatch." Shadow explained, holding the blue haired mermaid in his lap and kissing her neck.

"We found them on a sunken colonial age ship near the Bermuda Triangle. We became curious since there wasn't a sign of rust on them, despite the centuries." The sea foam haired mermaid replied.

"They're part of a pod." Shadow explained.

"What kind of eggs are they?" Will asked.

"We have no idea." Oshun replied.

"I guess we'll have to wait until they hatch, then." The author sighed.

"Will and I are stopping here for our trip to London to meet his parents." Sirena explained. "So maybe you guys can join up with my crew and add your ship…" She continued.

"The Lazy Drifter." McQueen stated.

"To my fleet." The woman finished.

"Ya know what, sure." Shadow shrugged. "We've been itching for some action despite what we were singing earlier." He added.

"Sure you were." Sirena chuckled, eyes rolling.

"Speaking of, we should probably get back soon. Jerry and the crew are probably finished by now." Will nodded.

"Oh, right. That's true." The shark woman nodded. "You guys wanna hang onto those weird eggs or do you wanna hand 'em off to us?" She asked.

"Better you take them than us. We're having a hard time keeping them warm as it is." Bruce nodded.

"Alright. We'll take things from here." Will nodded as he closed the box and picked it up.

"Here. This map shows where Great Inagua is located." Sirena told Shadow as she handed him a map. "You guys and your mate's pod should be able to settle in just fine." She added.

"Thanks." The dark armored shark man nodded as he accepted the map. "And it's great to have you back, boss." He added with a nod.

"Glad to be back." Sirena nodded back with a smirk as she hugged Tigger goodbye.

(Later)

Once Will and Sirena returned to their ship, Jerry was the one to greet them.

"Welcome back, you two. We finished resupplying while you were out." He told them before spotting the crate Will was holding. "What's in that?" He wondered.

"Three metal eggs we don't know the origin of." Will replied as he walked up the walkway. "Apparently Sirena's old pack also got mutated and are now pirates themselves. The Kingston Kings." He explained.

"You mean lazy maroon gang?" Black Jack, their helmsman, called. "What're those bloated carcasses doing out here?" He questioned.

"Apparently they were trying to get settled with some Mermaids they shacked up with." Sirena replied. "I'm adding them to the fleet since I want my boys back." She added.

"Oh boy, the guys back on Great Inagua are gonna have a field day when they find out a pod of mermaids is moving in…" Jerry groaned.

"Ain't that the truth…" Black Jack sighed in agreement.

"Well come on, guys." Will said as the ship left port. "Let's go, we won't get to London if we don't pick up the pace." He added.

"Right-o!" The helmsman nodded as they continued on their course.

(Timeskip)

It was a day or two later and Sirena's second ship, the Remora, made port at British Columbia for their second to last stop before reaching London.

And right now, Will, Sirena and the crew were at a famous bar called "Soggy Dollar" bar, home of the original painkiller.

"I would ask if you should be drinking while pregnant, but you'll just drink anyway." Will remarked as he watched his lover sip on a glass of the bar's signature drink.

"I have a toxin filtration organ. The babies should be fine." Sirena told him.

"I hope so." The man sighed through his nose as he downed his own Painkiller.

"It'll take us about two and a half months for us to get to Lisbon from here. And then ten days from Lisbon to London." Jerry told them. "After that, the boys and I are going to head back to base." He added.

"That's fine. We'll find our own way back." Will nodded.

"That means that by the time we get there, the babies will be just about ready to come out." Sirena noted, patting her belly.

"I just hope you don't go into labor in front of them, or things are gonna be awkward beyond measure." The marine biologist stated, shivering at the concept of such an occurrence.

"Well, hopefully they won't mind their grandchildren being born after we arrive." His bride smiled, kissing him.

"I hope so, too." The man smiled back. "I also hope they won't be too put off by a mutant daughter-in-law." He added.

"I just hope they don't have a heart attack." Sirena stated. "… Actually, come to think of it. Do you have any siblings?" She asked.

"A half sister, yeah. From my dad's previous marriage." The author replied as they paid their tab, finished their food, and went back to their ship for their trip to Lisbon. "Her mother died of Scarlet Fever, and we never really got along when we were kids, if I'm being honest." He admitted.

"Think she's still the same as back then?" The pirate shark woman asked.

"No idea, but just in case, I don't want you alone in a room with her." Will replied.

"What's her name?" Sirena questioned.

"Elizabeth. Elizabeth Caroline Turner II. She's been traveling abroad for her job as an animal biologist and writer, like me, but mostly she sticks to the animals that are exclusively on land." The author replied.

"So I may or may not see her while we're visiting your parents. I'll keep my guard up." The blue haired pirate woman nodded, knowing there was a slim chance of her lover's half sibling dropping in for a surprise visit.

If she was in another country, then Sirena could breathe easier.

"She also isn't a fan of sharks." Will sighed. "Now she's fully against hunting them like what happened in Port Clovis, but she doesn't really trust them—or any predators, really—so I guess it's more of a self preservation thing." He amended.

"Maybe I can change her mind…" The shark woman hummed before shaking her head. "Nah. I think I may leave that matter alone, depending on how she reacts if she ever finds out about me and what I am." She decided.

"True…" Will nodded as everyone loaded the Remora again, allowing the two to retire to their quarters, where a handmade incubator could be seen by a porthole.

The eggs were soaking up heat and sunlight as they should be, while Will—not able to contain himself as Sirena removed her clothes—and again allowed his instincts take over and started to feel her up from every inch.

Unseen to them, the silver egg shook briefly before going still again.

Perhaps they were closer to hatching than anyone previously thought…

Dragon Emperor0: Hey guys. Here's the next chapter. By the rate we're going, I'd say we'll be able to get to the London portion and start rewriting the parts of the original that deal with it in the next one or two chapters. Speaking of which, am I the only one who thinks that those eggs aren't just elaborately decorated Emu eggs?

ThermalsniperN7: Nope. No way can those eggs be normal if they survived in a sunken shipwreck for who knows how long. The fact they're metallic in appearance with ZERO signs of rust doesn't help their case when it comes to suspicion.

Dragon Emperor0: I'm just curious because of how similar they look to GoT Dragon eggs… Anyway, hey! The pack's back together! And it looks like they have a pirate ship of their own. And by the looks of things, they also seem rather lazy.

ThermalsniperN7: And the song they were singing has been living rent free in your head for years. They even found some mermaids that they shacked up with; Good for them.

Dragon Emperor0: Yeah. Veggie Tales is still one of those childhood shoes that I never really forgot about as the years went on. And as for the Mermaids, we decided to have them be in "pods" because we wanted to do as much of a grounded take as possible on these specific merfolk to help distinguish them from the Atlanteans when they pop up.

ThermalsniperN7: Yeah, we'll be bringing DC into this for some extra flavor, and to keep things from the original story. Plus, Batman could help with the eggs when it comes to figuring out what they are. He is one of the smartest people out there.

Dragon Emperor0: Plus, with how Port Clovis was and the infamous reputation of the Maneater and her pack, coupled with their new mutated status and piracy occupation, I'd say catching the attention of the king of Atlantis would be an inevitability at this point, to tell you the truth.

ThermalsniperN7: That is a very true thing. Anyway, see you guys next time.
