Misadventures chapter 1: Family Duel
/Yo, it's been a while. I finally got around to writing again, don't expect a consistent schedule of upload, I'm going to be very busy for a while.
Something I want to make clear, the other story of mine that connects to this one is more of a what if/alternate timeline kind of story rather than a full sequel, so certain facts and plot points won't match up with this story. Especially considering Osrelios' origins.\
Osrelios and Yuto have been peaceful living with their family for about two months now.
During that time, Oz has been collecting energy to build a new deck, one that he can call his ultimate deck.
Currently he and Yuto were sitting outside on their porch. Oz was looking at a bunch of cards, some blank and others not.
Oz was getting help from Duel Spirits to help create the cards. Since most of the cards were still blank, this new deck was nowhere near useable.
Yuto was looking through his own cards, figuring out new combos.
The porch door opened behind them and put walked their parents.
"Hey, boys." Akiza said.
The two turn to look at her and Yusei.
"How about a duel?" She asked. "I know that a lot has happened, but it's still important that you sharpen your skills."
Oz grabbed his cards and placed them in a silver-white deck holder at his belt. "Sure."
Yuto grabbed his cards and got up as well. "I'm down."
"Good. Meet us in the back yard. Oh and Oz, please use your Stardust." Yusei said as he went inside.
Between the end of the Dimensional War, and the current day, Oz gave Yusei most of his Stardust deck, with a few exceptions, knowing Yusei isn't ready for them until his memories are back.
He did give back Starlight, but the original Stardust is going to be kept with him until further notice.
Oz and Yuto got to the back yard and stood across from Yusei and Akiza.
Leo and Luna were watching from the sidelines.
"This will be a tag duel, you two boys versus us." Yusei explained.
"Duel!" They all shout.

"Of you don't mind, I'm going first." Yusei declared.
"First I'll play Graceful Charity, and there's no need to explain it as we all know what it does." Yusei declared.
Yusei then drew 3 cards and discarded 2.
"Since one of tinge cards I discarded was Limiter Overload, I can Special Summon Speed Warrior from my deck." Yusei explained.
Speed Warrior: atk: 900
"Next I Normal Summon Junk Synchron."
Junk Synchron: atk: 1300
"Next, Junk Synchron revives a low-level monster from my GY. Come forth Tuningware."
Tuningware: Def: 300
"Next I tune my level 1 Tuningware, and level 2 Speed Warrior to my level 3 Junk Synchron." Yusei declared. "Synchro Summon! Level: 6! Stardust Charge Warrior!"
Stardust Charge Warrior: atk: 2000
"Due to both Charge Warrior and Tuningware, I can draw two additional cards." Yusei explained, drawing two more.
"Now I'll set 3 cards and end my turn." Yusei declared.
Yuto then took his turn.
"My turn. Draw." Yuto declared.

"I Normal Summon The Phantom Knights Of Ragged Gloves."

"Next, since I control a 'Phantom Knights' monster, I can Special Summon The Phantom Knights Of Silent Boots."
The Phantom Knights Of Silent Boots: Def: 1200
"Since a 'Phantom Knights' monster was Special Summoned, I can Special Summon The Phantom Knights Of Stained Greaves from my hand. When I do this I can chose if its level is increased or not, and I chose for it to stay a level 3." Yuto explained.
The Phantom Knights Of Stained Greaves: atk: 1200
"Now I overlay my 3 level 3 monsters. With them I build the Overlay Network! Archer of the fallen. Resurrect on the battlefield and take out our enemies with your mighty bow! XYZ Summon! Rank 3! The Phantom Knights Of Shattered Bow!" Yuto chanted.
The monster that appeared is a blue colored spirit like the other Phantom Knights, and it is wearing a tattered black Robin Hood-like outfit, with plenty of holes in it. It has a black colored quiver that is holding a bunch of arrows. Finally it holds a bow that is broken into several pieces, but is held together by the same blue spiritual energy that makes up the Phantom Knights.
The Phantom Knights Of Shattered Bow: Attribute: Dark, Type: Warrior/XYZ/Effect, Rank: 3, atk: 2400, Def: 1900
Summon Conditions: 3 level 3 monsters
Effect: Once per turn: you can detach 1 material from this card; inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the current atk of this card. This card can not attack directly during the turn you activate this effect. When this card is targeted for an attack (quick-effect): You can negate the attack, then you can return this card to the Extra Deck and Special Summon as many "Phantom Knights" monsters from your GY as possible that all have the same level. These monsters can be used for the XYZ Summon of a Rank 2, 3, or 4 Dark XYZ monster.
Shattered Bow took to the field and readied its bow.
"Since Ragged Gloves was used as material, Shattered Bow gets an extra 1000 atk until the end phase." Yuto explained.
The Phantom Knights Of Shattered Bow: atk: 3400
"I activate Shattered Bow's effect! By detaching an Overlay Unit, it can deal damage equal to half its atk. With its current atk, it can deal 1700 damage." Yuto declared.
An Overlay Unit went into Shattered Bow's quiver and formed energy around an arrow.
Shattered Bow drew the arrow and knocked it onto its bow.
Shattered Bow then aimed right in between the two Fudo parents and fired.
The arrow hit the ground and released a shockwave that caused the two parents to stumble a bit.

"Good job Yuto. You managed to deal damage to us before you were allowed to attack." Akiza praised.
"Thanks. I just so happen to get this monster recently. It's probably from the excess energy that was used to prevent the Dimensions from merging."
'Yuto is probably not the only one this has happened to.' Oz thought to himself.
"Next I set 1 card and end my turn. And with the end of my turn, Shattered Bow's atk returns to normal." Yuto declared.

"My turn. Draw." Akiza declared.

"I activate the Field Spell: White Rose Cloister. With it, when I control no monsters, I can Special Summon a 'Rose Dragon' or any Plant monster from my hand. I'll summon Blue Rose Dragon!" Akiza declared.

"Next I'll Normal Summon Roxrose Dragon."
Roxrose Dragon: atk: 1600
"When Roxrose is Normal or Special Summoned, I can add any card that lists 'Black Rose Dragon' to my hand from my deck." Akiza explained as her deck shuffled. "I choose Basal Rose Shoot."
"Now I tune my level 4 Blue Rose Dragon to my level 3 Roxrose Dragon. Chilling flames engulf the entire world. Pitch-dark flower, set into bloom! Synchro Summon! Appear now, Black Rose Dragon!"
Black Rose appeared and gave out a strong roar.
Black Rose Dragon: atk: 2400
Oz then visibly tensed as he knew full well what Black Rose Dragon could do.
"Next I'll set 2 cards and end my turn." Akiza declared.
Oz was both confused and relieved that she didn't use Black Rose's effect upon summon.
He then chalked it down to her not wanting to truly hurt them.
"Then it's my turn." Oz declared. "I draw."

"With Scale 0 PenduLuMoon and scale 8 Odd-Eyes Mirage Dragon, I set the Pendulum Scale. With it, I can summon monsters from levels 1 through 7 all at once."
"Ethereal powers that go beyond time and space. Gather together and call forth my allies from the far reaches of the timeline! Pendulum Summon!" Oz chanted.
"Come forth! Fast Wing Magician, Fantasy Phantom Magician, and Twin Overlay Magician!" Oz shouts.
Two of Oz' previously seen monsters appeared as well as a new one.
Fantasy Phantom Magician is a monster that looks similar to Double Iris Magician, but styled after Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon instead of Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon. His hair is also grey.
Fantasy Phantom Magician: Attribute: Dark, Type: Spellcaster/Pendulum/Effect, Level: 4, Scale: 3, atk: 500, Def: 2000
Pendulum Effect: You can target 1 Pendulum monster you control; this turn, if that monster deals Battle Damage to your opponent, inflict Damage equal to the pendulum scale of that monster x100.
Effect: (This card is always treated as a "Phantom Dragon" card.) If this card is destroyed by battle or by card effect: You can add 1 Dragon-Type Pendulum monster from your deck to your hand.
"Now I activate Twin Overlay Magician's effect. I reveal Dark Anthelion Dragon in my Extra Deck and change Twin Overlay's level to match Anthelion's rank."
Twin Overlay Magician: Level: 7
"Now I overlay my level 7 Twin Overlay Magician! With this one monster, I build the Overlay Network! Rebellious fangs that cut through darkness! Take flight and cut down our enemies! XYZ Summon! Rank 7: Dark Anthelion Dragon!" Oz chanted.
Dark Anthelion gave out a roar.

"Next I tune my level 4 Fantasy Phantom Magician to my level 4 Fast Wing Magician. Clustering wishes will become a new shining star! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Soar, Stardust Dragon!" Oz chanted.
Stardust roared out, spreading his wings.
Stardust Dragon: atk: 2500
The two parents, as well as the twins then gained headaches.
After a moment, the four lose the headache.
"Let's get them to remember, right Stardust?" Oz telepathically said.
"Right" Stardust agreed.
"Now, Stardust Dragon, attack Stardust Charge Warrior! Shooting Sonic!" Oz shouts.
"I activate my trap card: Scrap Iron Scarecrow! This negates your attack and then sets itself back face down." Yusei countered.
"In that case, Dark Anthelion attacks Black Rose Dragon!"
"I activate the Quick-Play Spell: Basal Rose Shoot! This summons a 'Rose Dragon' from my hand or GY. I chose to revive Roxrose Dragon!" Akiza declared.
Roxrose Dragon: Def: 1200
"Anthelion, continue your attack!"
"I activate the Trap: Urgent Tuning! With this, I tune my level 7 Black Rose Dragon with my level 3 Roxrose Dragon!" Akiza declared.
"Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level: 10! Baronne De Fleur!"
Oz blinked in surprise. "I'll set 1 card and end my turn."
Oz knew that trying to activate Dark Anthelion's effect wouldn't work out against Baronne, and he'd rather not crash Anthelion into it.
"My turn. Draw." Yusei declared.

"I summon Satellite Synchron." Yusei declared.
Satellite Synchron: atk: 700
"Next I tune my level 6 Stardust Charge Warrior with my level 2 Satellite Synchron. Bonds beyond the flow of time and space come together to form new shining stars. Become the road that leads to our future! Synchro Summon! Starlight Stardust Dragon!" Yusei chanted.
Starlight appeared and roared out to Stardust, who roared back in return.
Starlight Stardust Dragon: atk: 2500
"Nice to see you father." Starlight stated.
"Good to see you as well. But remember, we are in opposite teams for this duel." Stardust replied.
"Well then, let the best dragon win." Starlight responded.
"You're on!" Stardust shouts.
"Next I activate the Quick-Play spell: Final Cross! With this, I target Starlight and allow it to attack a second time this turn. And since Starlight was the target, I can make it so Starlight gains Stardust Charge Warrior's atk." Yusei explained.
Starlight Stardust Dragon: atk: 4500
"And next, I use Starlight's effect to send the level 4 tuner: Hyper Synchron to the GY in order to increase Starlight's atk."
Starlight Stardust Dragon: atk: 4900
"Now go, Starlight! Attack Shattered Bow with Glimmering Sonic!" Yusei shouts.
"I activate my trap! Phantom Knights' Fog Blade!" Yuto countered.
"In that case I'll counter with the Mystical Space Typhoon resting in my hand." Yusei stated, playing the card.
"In that case, I'll use Shattered Bow's effect!" Yuto declared. "By returning it to the Extra Deck, I can Summon as many 'Phantom Knights' as possible from my GY, as well as negate your attack."
"Not if I use Baronne's effect!" Akiza chimed in. "Once while face up on the field, Baronne can negate an effect and destroy the card that used the negated effect."
Baronne then shot out a crescent slash at Shattered Bow, destroying it.
"In that case, my targets are Anthelion and Stardust." Yusei said.
"In that case, I'll use this! I play Negate Attack!" Oz countered.
"I'll end my turn then." Yusei declared. "And with it, Final Cross' effect ends."

"My turn. Draw." Yuto declared.

Yuto then looked at the card in his hand. He then smirked.
"I hope you remember Dark Star Dragon, because by revealing both it and my Phantom Knights Of Cloven Helm, I can Summon them both."

The Phantom Knights Of Cloven Helm: Def: 500
"Next I'll overlay my two level 4 monsters! With them I once again build the Overlay Network! Formed from pitch-black darkness, to fight those foolish enough to oppose it with its treacherous fangs! Now, descend! XYZ Summon! Rank 4! Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon!" Yuto chanted.
Dark Rebellion roared out with pride.
Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon: atk: 2500
Anthelion roared in response.
"You two are lively." Stardust commented.
"It's been a while since I've last been in a duel,I've been bored" Dark Rebellion answered.
"Next I play XYZ Treasure. I draw a card for every XYZ monster in play, which is two." Yuto said as he drew two cards.
Yuto then noticed one of the card's he drew. "I then play XYZ Gift. If there are two or more XYZ monsters on the field, I draw two cards."
'Yuto's hand is back up to 3.' Oz mentally observed.
"Before you do anything, I play the trap: Threatening Roar." Yusei declared, activating the card.
"There's goes any of my strategies." Yuto commented. "I end my turn with 1 face down."
"My turn. I draw." Akiza declared.

"During my Standby Phase, I can use Baronne De Fleur's effect to return it to the Extra Deck and Special Summon a level 9 or lower monster from my GY. I summon back Black Rose Dragon!" Akiza declared.
Black Rose reappeared in a flurry of rose petals. She then roared out.
Black Rose Dragon: atk: 2400
"Now I summon Red Rose Dragon."
Red Rose Dragon: atk: 1000
"Now I tune my level 7 Black Rose Dragon to my level 3 Red Rose Dragon. Warm flames blanket those who I cherish. Pitch-dark flower, bloom into the light! Synchro Summon! Appear now, Ruddy Rose Dragon!"
The evolved form of Black Rose appeared and roared out.
Ruddy Rose Dragon: atk: 3200
"Now I would activate Ruddy Rose's effect, but that would make things worse for us right now." Akiza stated.
"From Red Rose Dragon's effect, I'll add Frozen Rose to my hand. And I can summon White Rose Dragon from my Deck."
White Rose Dragon: Def: 1000
"Now Ruddy Rose, attack Anthelion! Ruddy Rose Flare!"
"I activate Anthelion's effect! By detaching 1 Overlay Unit, I half the atk of Ruddy Rose Dragon and add the lost atk to Anthelion."
"Not if I use my Infinite Impermanence." Yusei countered.
Anthelion dulled and then was immediately hit by a breath attack from Ruddy Rose.

"With that, I end my turn." Akiza declared.
"My turn. Draw." Oz declared.
Osrelios hand: 1
"First, I'll play Card of Demise! With it, I draw until I hold 5 cards, then 5 of my Standby Phases later, I discard my entire hand."
Oz then looked at the cards he drew, his eyes widened at one of them.
A glow emerged from his Extra Deck.
The rest saw it.
"Summon it. Go ahead." Yusei encouraged.
Oz then nodded.
"Pendulum Summon! Come forth! Dark Anthelion Dragon, Baby Mudragon and Majestic Dragon!
Dark Anthelion Dragon: atk: 3000
Baby Mudragon: atk: 0
Majestic Dragon: atk: 0
The two parents and the twins look at Majestic Dragon in confusion.
"Why does that little guy look familiar?" Leo asks.
"I don't know, but it does." Luna said.
Oz then took a deep breath.
"I activate the spell card: Rank-Up-Magic Pendulum Force!" Oz declared.
"This is a Rank-Up-Magic exclusive for XYZ Pendulum monsters. It allows me to take an XYZ Pendulum monster and rank it up into an XYZ monster of a higher rank. Additionally, it allows me to use an XYZ Pendulum monster in my Pendulum Zone."
"Now I take Dark Anthelion Dragon and Overlay it. With this one monster, I rebuild the Overlay Network! Dark fangs that cover the sun, may your power echo across the dimensions and inspire those who fight the oppression! Rank-Up-XYZ Change! Rank: 8! Requiem Anthelion Dragon!" Oz chanted.
The result of Anthelion's rank-up appeared as a stronger appearing Anthelion. It was a larger dragon with wings that appeared to be made of stained glass, and with two chin fangs instead of one. The bone-white around the body was a shimmering green, and the gems were all pitch-black. It also had lightning shaped energy lines running through out the body that were cyan in color.
The new dragon roared out with power.
Requiem Anthelion Dragon: Attribute: Dark, Type: Dragon/XYZ/Pendulum/Effect, Rank: 8, Scale: 11, atk: 3800, Def: 2400
Summon Conditions: 4 level 8 monsters
Pendulum Effect: Once per turn: you can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; its atk becomes 0 until the end of this turn (even if this card leaves the field).
Effect: If you can Pendulum Summon level 8, you can Pendulum Summon this face-up card in your Extra Deck. If this card is destroyed by battle or by card effect, you can place this card in your Pendulum Zone. If this card has "Dark Anthelion Dragon" as XYZ material, it gains these effects.
• You can detach 1 material from this card, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; change its atk to 0, and if you do, this card gains atk equal to that monster's original atk.
• During either player's turn, when your opponent activates a card effect: you can detach 1 material from this card; negate the activation, then if you do, banish that card, then you can Special Summon 1 Pendulum or XYZ monster from your GY.
"Woah..." the two twins said.
"Now... time for things to really get started." Oz said.
With a deep breath, he began his next move.
"When Baby Mudragon is used for a Synchro Summon, it can be treated as a non-tuner. Now I tune my level 1 Baby Mudragon, and level 8 Stardust Dragon, to my level 1 Majestic Dragon. The shine of clustering stars will illuminate a new miracle! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Arrive in light, Majestic Star Dragon!" Oz chanted.
Majestic Star Dragon: atk: 3800
Everyone looked at Majestic Star Dragon in awe.
Yusei, Akiza, Leo, and Luna all then get incredibly painful headaches.
After a moment of them in pain, the pain stops.
They all look up with smiles on their faces.
"I believe that I can say for all four of us that we remember now." Yusei said.
The other three nodded.
"Again? Just how many people do we know have some sort of secret locked memories?" Yuto asked himself.
'More than you realize.' Oz thought.
Yusei then looked at Majestic Star Dragon.
"It's wonderful to see you again."
Majestic Star nodded. Oz could feel a wave of relief emanate from the dragon.
"It's nice to see a reunion, but we've got a duel to finish." Oz said.
"I activate Requiem Anthelion's effect! By using an Overlay Unit, I can drain all of Starlight's atk and Anthelion can absorb it."
Requiem Anthelion Dragon shot out pitch-black tendrils at Starlight, fully restraining it.
Starlight Stardust Dragon: atk: 0
Requiem Anthelion Dragon: atk: 6300
"Now, finish this Requiem Anthelion! Eternal Eclipse of Rebellion!" Oz shouts.
"Don't forget about Scrap Iron Scarecrow." Yusei reminded, activating the card.
Requiem Anthelion's attack was blocked.
"Then, I guess I'll have to finish this with Majestic Star Dragon. Go! Shooting Blaster Sonic!"
Majestic Star Dragon shot itself through Starlight, circling around to be behind Oz.
Majestic Star Dragon then reverted to Stardust and then roared out.
Yusei & Akiza LP: 0
The other monsters and cards then faded out as the duel ended.
The four duelists walked up to one another.
"You really are a miracle worker. Saving the Dimensions, restoring our memories. All of that done by your hand." Yusei said, with pride in his voice.
"I'd like to give you something." Oz said, handing the last of the Stardust Cards to Yusei, including Stardust Dragon.
Yusei took them and then looked at them with a smile. He then held out Starlight's card.
"I want you to keep Starlight. As a symbol of our bond as a family."
Oz too the card with a smile. "I'll gladly hold onto this symbol."
"Come on, let's go inside, it's around time for lunch." Akiza said as she began to walk inside.
As everyone was walking in, Leo and Luna talked to each other.
"It's crazy to believe that we were given a second chance at life, as Yusei and Akiza's children this time." Luna said.
"After everything that happened in our past life, the Dark Signers, Zone and his group, and all the rest, I'm just glad that this life is relatively normal." Leo replied. "Plus we get ourselves older siblings this time."
"And the big adventure is already done, and the Dimensions live in peace. I think this is the life we've always wanted." Luna stated.
The two twins smile and run into the house.
