Tornado adopts a Unicorn
Tatsumaki was angrily walking toward the fight between Freckles and Sparky. How dare they keep her awake and interrupt her cuddle time with Eri. What is so important that they must fight in the middle of the night? Do they want to spar? As if. If so, they could've asked her.
'Urgh, it's probably Sparky who didn't listen to my advice and did something stupid.' Tatsumaki thought with a groan escaping her lips.
On her way, she also spotted the Zombie walking in the same direction. What is he doing here? Does he also want to see why the brats are fighting?
Strange. Why is he so invested? Or is it just his job as their teacher to interrupt them? Let's just follow behind him and see what he's doing.
Tatsumaki began to follow All Might and hid her presence so as not to alarm anyone.
/
With Izuku and Katsuki.
It was a brutal fight. Neither of them gave the other even a tiny bit of breathing room. They fought as if their life was on the line. Well ... more Katsuki than Izuku, but he still defended himself properly.
Out of nowhere, Katsuki deman- ... asked Izuku to follow him outside after curfew. They walked to Ground Beta, and Katsuki asked Izuku if All Might had given him his quirk. It happened so fast in Izuku's eyes. One moment, Katsuki interrogated him, and suddenly, they were fighting.
Because Izuku can use 30% of OfA and Danger Sense, he easily evades Katsuki's attacks. Sure, if he gets hit, it will hurt him, but he had the upper hand in this fight.
He doesn't want to fight Katsuki, but he will keep on dodging until Katsuki tuckers himself out. Then they can maybe talk this out.
Izuku dodged another explosion, which triggered Katsuki enormously. "GODDAMMIT, STOP DODGING AND FIGHT ME! WHAT!? DO YOU THINK I'M SO WEAK THAT YOU WON'T EVEN ATTACK ME? STOP LOOKING DOWN ON ME!" Katsuki screamed at him with rage. His voice was loud, but at the same time, you could hear a slight tremor inside of it.
Again, he attacked Izuku like a wild animal. You could feel the raw power that Katsuki was emitting. His explosions were so much more powerful than before, and his speed and reflexes had improved so much. But even so, he still couldn't get a hit on Izuku. It was so frustrating.
But then it happened. Izuku jumped over Katsuki to dodge another attack and increase the distance between them. With his feet mere centimeters away from the ground, a fast beam suddenly hit him square in the chest.
It hurt. He was pushed away by the force and slid across the street with his face grinding on the ground. What was that?
Katsuki developed a new attack. The AP-Shot.
To further increase the power of his explosions, Katsuki focused them on a small part of his palm and then released them like a densely focused laser beam.
Now, it was time for round two. Because he gets stronger the longer he fights, he can now use his other trump card. He developed the technique two days ago. He can not only focus his explosions to attack with his AP-Shot, but he can also compress them and release them like small compact explosions to further increase the power behind them. This also gives him more speed in a battle.
The fight began to increase in its intensity. But it was still not enough. Izuku was avoiding his attacks with Danger Sense again, and he still had this look in his eyes. The look that was telling Katsuki that he was beneath him and that he would never catch up to him. It was pissing him off. Why is he looking down on him?
He compressed his explosions even further and managed to graze Izuku on his cheek. He then avoided a counterattack from Izuku and backflipped away. They fought like heroes in the top 10 ten. It was amazing. But it was not enough. Izuku was not even out of breath.
He tried to attack again, but this time, he was punched by Izuku in the chest and stumbled backward, and landed on his ass.
Izuku tried to help him up, but Katsuki slapped his hand away.
"DAMMIT. Stop looking down on me! What the hell is wrong with you?! How are you this strong? You were always so far beneath me, and now I need to catch up to you? Take me seriously, dammit!" Katsuki loudly exclaimed with shaking lips and trembling hands. Izuku had never seen him this mentally messed up.
Katsuki continued with a pained expression. "It's unfair. You got acknowledged by All Might and got strong, and I ... I AM THE REASON WHY HE LOST HIS POWER!" He screamed at Izuku with tears flowing down his face.
Izuku looked at him, shocked. He didn't expect Katsuki to be this plagued by guilt. But Katsuki was not finished. "Because I was so weak, I was kidnapped by the villains and needed to be saved like some weakling. And then some random girl shows up and is even stronger than All Might? I thought I could catch up to her after the training, but the gap did not close. The worst part is that you even managed to impress her. You know what she said to me? I will never catch up to you. I'm pathetic." Katsuki openly cried now and looked down, hiding his face behind his hair.
"I- I tried to swallow it all down but it always comes back up. I can't get it out of my head. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!"
This was the first time that Izuku saw him that vulnerable. But he can't let Katsuki walk over him just because he is having a hard time right now. He needs to take this fight seriously and fight Katsuki properly. The problem was that he needed to fight with his full power because otherwise, Katsuki would only get more messed up in his head. If he had to guess, then powerwise, Katsuki was between his 20 or 25% right now, excluding Danger Sense.
Izuku hopes that Katsuki will calm down after they fight because there is no way he will lose to Katsuki right now.
The fight continued again, this time with more intensity. Katsuki attacked him with furious and deadly strikes that shook the entire area. Izuku countered and punched and kicked him with the full force of OfA. It was a hard-fought battle.
This continued for nearly 20 minutes before the battle was finished. In these 20 minutes, Katsuki continued to scream at Izuku, telling him to stop looking down at him and that he would catch up to him.
Katsuki tried to finish the battle with his Howitzer Impact, but before he could reach Izuku, the OfA user vanished from his view and reappeared behind him. Then, he landed a powerful kick on his head, knocking him out.
Izuku waited for a response, but Katsuki only turned around and continued lying on his back. "Dammit. I ... lost." He whispered in a defeated tone.
"That's enough. Both of you, stop this. I'm sorry, but I've heard everything." All Might said in his weak form as he walked over to them.
Both Izuku and Katsuki were surprised by his appearance. "All Might?"
All Might stood before both of them and looked gently at the teens. "You boys, what should I do with you? You are both so strong, so don't fight each other again, okay? I should have seen this sooner. I'm sorry for that." His tone was calm.
He crouched down to look over Katsuki. "Young Bakugou, you are not weak, and you definitely are not the reason why I retired. It was inevitable from the beginning that I couldn't be around forever. Don't blame yourself for something you had no control over." All Might tried to reason with Katsuki, but the teen was not listening.
"But I am weak. If I had not been captured, you would still be around." He gritted out with a shaking voice.
All Might sighed after hearing that. "That was the fault of the teachers. It is our job to protect you students. If there's one to blame, blame us for everything."
Then, he forced a smile to cheer Katsuki up a bit. "And hey, I can still use my quirk for 5 minutes a day, so I'm not completely out of the picture." He said in a cheerful tone, but you could easily hear that it was forced.
Katsuki ignored him and stared at the ground for a couple of seconds before sighing himself. "It's yours, right? You gave Deku your quirk."
There was no point in lying anymore. Katsuki figured it out, it was better to tell him the truth and try to not let him tell anyone else. "Yes, I gave him my quirk."
But before Katsuki could digest the information, a feminine voice could be heard above them. "Well, that's a surprise. I didn't know someone could give away quirks."
They all widened their eyes and looked up. And there she was, Tatsumaki hovered above them and looked down at them with an arrogant smirk.
"Nice of you to finally notice me, brats. I could've ended you multiple times if I was a villain. The training will increase in its intensity next time." She told them sternly, but it really was just to brighten the mood a bit. Even if her method was questionable. Then she pointed a finger at All Might. "And you, I thought you were the strongest? How did you not notice me following you around the entire time?" Tatsumaki said, offended on his behalf as if she hadn't erased her presence this whole time.
All Might tried to ignore her insult and asked his own question instead. "Young Tatsumaki, how much did you hear just now?" He asked carefully to see how much she knew now, even if he already knew the answer.
Tatsumaki flew down and crossed her arms over her chest. "Hmph, I heard everything from the point where Spaky had a mental breakdown until you told them that you could give away your quirk. And on that matter, how can someone give away a quirk? I thought you were born with it."
Sighing, All Might tried to think clearly about the situation and what to do with it. "Okay, look, what I will tell you right now must be kept a secret. Young Midoriya would be in great danger if this information gets out." He said with urgency and in a slightly rushed tone. He originally only wanted to tell this young Bakugou, but at this point, he had no choice. And Tatsumaki trusted him with her own secret, so it should be fine.
The esper looked at him with a slight glare before relaxing and unfolding her arms. "*sigh* Fine, I don't care. I won't tell anyone about it. It's not like I would gain anything from it anyway." She then turned to Katsuki and looked at him expectantly. "Hey, Sparky, make up your mind already. I don't have all night. My daughter is alone at home."
The blonde in question clicked his tongue and nodded. "Tch, just tell me why you gave Deku your quirk and not anyone else. I don't care about anything else. Your secret will be fine." He waved them off and glared at Izuku.
After hearing that, All Might deeply bowed to them both. "I thank you both from the bottom of my heart. You don't know how important that is for me. Really, I don't know how I can make it up for you." He said, more relaxed, after hearing that his secret would be safe with them.
A tick mark appeared on Tatsumaki's face. "My god, go on with it already." She told him impatiently.
Then All Might began explaining the origin of quirks, AfO, and many other uninteresting things. The only part Tatsumaki was interested in was how a quirk can be passed on. She ignored the rest. All Might also explained why he chose Freckles as his successor. Then Sparky began to complain again about his own weakness and whatnot. It was getting on her nerves.
But there was still one thing she needed to know. "Hey, Zombie, if you can only pass on the stockpiled power, how can Freckles use his so-called Danger Sense?"
All Might's eyes widen a bit. "Ah, you're right. I forgot to mention that. You see, it looks like One for All evolved and reached a boiling point, and now young Midoriya can use the past users' quirks. But at the moment, only Danger Sense can be used, though." He calmly explained.
"And what other quirks will he awaken in the future. Give me more information, you buffoon." She crossed her arms over her chest again and stomped impatiently on the ground.
"I think we talked enough for the night. Let's continue this privately at the teacher's lounge tomorrow, young Tatsumaki." He tried to reason with her because it was getting late and he was tired. Also, the topic of the other quirks was still new for him too, and he needed more time to look deeper into them.
Tatsumaki sighed and uncrossed her arms. "Tsk, fine." She turned to the teens who were still sitting on the ground. "And you two, don't think you will get off scot-free. You interrupted my sleep for something completely stupid. Your training will be increased by at least tenfold in the next few days. And Sparky ... you're strong, alright? Don't compare yourself to others. Only focus on your own improvements." After saying that, she flew away to get much-needed sleep.
What the others are talking about now is none of her concern. She doesn't care enough to be frank.
/
The next couple of months flew by with nothing major happening. There was the provisional exam for the rest of the first years of UA, the school festival, where Eri had the time of her life, especially at the concert, and then the students celebrated Christmas. Really, only three noteworthy things were happening this entire time.
Let's just ignore the part where a midget and an old-looking man tried to invade UA at the festival. It was a pathetic display anyway.
The first interesting thing was the rankings of the top 10 heroes of the country. Or, to be specific, the thing that happened afterward.
If you ask Tatsumaki, it was a waste of time, and she would've never shown up in the first place, but Eri insisted that she needed to go because she wanted to see her mother on TV again. Urgh! Why can't she just say no to that girl?
She was currently standing next to the big flame guy from when she first arrived in this world, and he glared at her. Of course, she glared back at him. Who does he think he is? Someone important? As if. The brats have more talent than him.
She couldn't care less what the other 'heroes' had to say. Honestly, she wasn't even listening.
But now it was her time to say something. The announcer was standing next to her.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I don't think I have to introduce our next hero to anyone because she is already known all around the world. Please give a massive applause to our next number one hero, Tatsumaki, The Tornado of Terroooooooor!" She announced excitedly. Then, she held the microphone at Tatsumaki's face.
"Miss Tatsumaki, please tell the people of Japan what you have planned for the future."
"I don't have anything to say. My work speaks for itself." Came her emotionless reply.
Silence.
The announcer started to sweat. First Hawks, and now this? What is wrong with this year? "U- umm, do you really want to say nothi-" Tatsumaki shut her up with a glare.
The woman tried to compose herself and turned around to face the audience. "W- well, there you have it, folks. Please give our heroes one last big applause and ..."
Tatsumaki ignored the rest and quickly turned around to get out of there. But unfortunately, the chicken stopped her.
"Hey Tornado, where ya going? You want to hang out for a bit? Huh? How's that sound?" Hawks lazily said in a relaxed tone.
Tatsumaki didn't even turn around. "No." Was her short reply and she took off.
And, of course, the chicken was following her. But that was not a problem for her. She simply increased her speed and vanished before his eyes. She didn't even see the smirk on his face.
But now came the fun part. On her way home, she sensed a presence that was quickly approaching her. She stopped in her tracks and waited for the intruder to show themselves. And after only 10 seconds, it arrived. It was disgusting. Before her was a black ... thing with an exposed brain.
If she recalled correctly, the brats told her that the League of Villains created these things. What was it called? A Nomu?
Heh, this will be fun. Because these things are not human, killing them should be okay, right?
"Hehehe, finally, at last, I can let loose with something in this world. Prepare yourself, you disgusting piece of mold." She threateningly said with a wide smirk and green aura surrounding her.
She could finally kill a monster!
The battle was short. Really short. But that was to be expected because what could possibly threaten her in this embarrassingly weak world?
She effortlessly immobilized the creature and ripped its limbs off one by one. She wanted to test whether this thing's regeneration was stronger than Zombie Man's. In the end, it was just a cheap knockoff of his regeneration.
But at least she had some fun with this one. It reminded her of the days when she could fly freely and kill everything in her path. Good times.
The strange thing was that more of these Nomus approached her repeatedly. Nearly every day, she was ambushed by these creatures.
What worried her was that the last time a Nomu appeared, she couldn't sense it. It had no presence around it.
And after that, they never appeared again.
How strange.
That was the first interesting thing.
The second one was the attack on Deika City.
At the time, she was active in Europe and couldn't make it in time. And the brats were stuck in school and couldn't do anything themselves. The villains responsible for that were still on the run, and it was pissing her off.
Again, Tatsumaki was impressed by how useless the heroes of this country were. She had been gone for only two hours, and already, a city had vanished from the map. Really, how did this world survive so long without her?
But enough of that; at least there was one thing that was not a complete disappointment.
The third noteworthy thing was that her brats were having some sort of awakening with their quirks.
The first one was Sparky. Because he couldn't tune down his complex and trained like a man possessed, his quirk changed, and now he can use his explosions like ... what did he call it? Cluster? What a stupid name.
But back on track because it doesn't end there. No, he still increased the intensity of his training even further and managed to improve his quirk even more. Now, he can let his sweat flow through his whole body and release his explosions all around himself. It was actually really impressive. If she had to guess, he was on the same level as Freckles when he used 40% of OfA combined with Gearshift OR FaJin. But if he uses both of his extra quirks, he still is stronger than Sparky. Not to mention his other quirks like Danger Sense or Float.
And if we are talking about Freckles now, this boy managed to exceed her expectations, whether you believe it or not. He can now use 60% of OfA in combination with FaJin and Gearshift simultaneously, increasing his output to 150%. He still has some problems with the backlash from Gearshift, but they are working on that. Individually, he mastered Float, Smokescreen, Blackwip, Danger Sense, and FaJin. Gearshift is the only problematic quirk at the moment. He can only use it for 15 minutes at maximum output before it gets difficult to breathe. And that's not all. If he wants, he can increase the outputof OfA to 75% on the impact of a punch. But for the most part, he stays at 60%.
However, there was one time when she had to step in and speak her mind with the vestiges because they were unreasonably difficult. The second and third users wouldn't let Freckles use their quirks, so Tatsumaki did the only reasonable thing in her mind.
She invaded the vestige world.
How is that possible, you ask?
It was simple. She only had to overload Freckles's nervous system to make him unconscious and enter his mind via telepathy. Boy, was that an experience.
/
"H- hey, wait a minute! So- how is she in here? It shouldn't be possible!"
"What the hell? Is she serious right now?"
"Uhhhhhhhh."
"Hmm, that's a surprising development."
"MISS TATSUMAKI?! HOW DID YOU DO THAT?"
Tatsumaki stood before the vestiges, and Izuku was partially formed next to her. Her expression was of pure annoyance, and her arms were crossed over her chest. "Well? Which of you idiots are the second and third users?" She spoke with an icy tone, not wanting to waste even more time today.
Two guys in the back turned around and faced the esper. Their expressions didn't show any nervousness. The one with the orange hair spoke first. "That would be me. I'm the second. What do you want?" Unlike Tatsumaki, his tone was much calmer but had a slight edge. He would not let the esper walk over him.
"What do I want? Maybe you should start using your brain for once in your life because it should be pretty obvious why I'm here. Stop being a whiney little girl and let Freckles use your quirk!" She said loudly as she started to walk over to him and spat in his face.
But he continued to look at her, uninterested. "And why should I? The boy has no idea how the outside world works. He's too naive and way too soft on the inside. He has not yet earned the right to use my quirk. Now get out of my face, brat."
Did he just call her a brat? Is he serious?
A vein popped on Tatsumaki's face, and her gaze morphed into something hideous.
The second noticed that and huffed at her. "You can be pissed off all you want, but you can't do anything in here, no matter how angry you are. You shou- ARRGHH"
He was right. Her powers won't work on him directly. But that doesn't mean she is completely powerless. She only had to search for the core of OfA and analyze it thoroughly to see which part matched with the imbecile in front of her. And then she only needed to overload it with her ESP, and the idiot was a spasming mess on the ground.
She crouched down and smirked at him arrogantly. "Huh? What's wrong? Don't tell me that you can't even handle this much energy? Pathetic."
It doesn't need to be explained that Izuku could use all the other quirks from that point onward. The third user was quickly convinced as well, and everything was fine.
/
Back on track.
The last person who got an awakening was Chibi. Her quirk could now spread through the objects she touched and remove the gravity without needing to touch them herself. She also can now create small bubbles that spread through the air and remove the gravity of anything they come in contact with. Lastly, her weight limit is nearly gone now. They have tested it, and she only gets nauseous after removing the gravity of something weighing over 100 tons.
The brats all awakened their quirk on some random island, fighting against some no names. She doesn't really care how they did it. They are stronger now, she doesn't need to know more.
Urgh, well, there was one other thing that happened.
Tatsumaki stopped a terror organisation from killing everyone with a quirk drug or some shit. It was really easy finding the fucker. And even easier arresting that freak. He couldn't do anything. She simply grabbed him and brought him to the police. His quirk could only counter physical attacks. What a waste.
That was the full recap of the last months. Really, it was starting to get boring. At least she had her daughter to brighten her day.
Speaking of which, her character began to change quite a bit. She is more confident now and acts more like Tatsumaki by the day. She is still adorable and sweet, but sometimes, especially if someone bothers her, she acts a bit more like her mother. But mostly, she is still the loving little bean she always was.
But something else was on her mind for the last couple of months. Why the hell is she still here? Did Blast lose to that Ninja? No way!
She wants to go home and show Fubuki her daughter. She wants to see her sister. She misses Fubuki. She wants to see Blast again. And most importantly, she wants to show Eri her world.
What would Eri say? Would she like it there? Will she get along with Fubuki and Blast? She hasn't even told her that she comes from a different world.
Tatsumaki was sitting on the couch in the living room watching a random movie, and Eri was currently occupied with her drawings. How should she even begin that conversation? Should she just tell her the truth? Or was it better to wait it out and just take her with her without explaining anything? Let's just think about it when the time is right. If there was even a right time for that.
"Hey Eri, what are you drawing?" Tatsumaki asked, making her way to Eri to look at the picture.
The girl looked up at her mom, surprised. "Hmm? Oh! I want to draw my friends. Here, look!" Eri pointed at a stick figure with green hair. "This one is Greenie. And that," This time she pointed at an animal with white fur. "is Mr Nezu. But I need to draw many more people. I have many friends, so it's a lot of work. Do you want to be in the picture too, Mom?" Eri asked her with big eyes.
Tatsumaki smiled at her with a fond expression. "No, sweetie. Just draw your friends on this one. You can make another one with just us, okay?" She ruffled her hair, which got her a giggle from Eri.
"Okay. Then I will make it extra pretty for you," She proudly exclaimed with a confident smirk.
Tatsumaki sat back on the couch and thought about her time in this world. Yes, she wanted to go back home with Eri by her side, but the time she spent here with her daughter is something she will forever cherish. Nothing can bring down her mood right now. She will get back home. She just knows it. But now, she only wants to enjoy her time with Eri.
"URRRGGGHHH"
Huh?
Tatsumaki's head snapped in Eri's direction. And what she saw made her blood run cold.
Out of Eri's mouth came some kind of grey substance, swirling around her. Tatsumaki immediately rushed to her daughter and tried to grab her with her telekinesis, but it was in vain. She couldn't grab her. She tried again and again, but ... it was pointless. For some reason, she couldn't grab Eri.
The girl looked at her, terrified. "Mwommwy?!" The slime muffled her voice. She was scared out of her mind.
"Don't worry, Eri. Everything will be alright, I promise. Mommy is here." She doesn't even believe her own words. What the hell is happening right now? It was the same as what happened with the giant in the wasteland. He disappeared, right? Will Eri disappear too?
She needed to do something. She couldn't let her daughter suffer like this. Tatsumaki tried to think of solutions, but she couldn't come up with any ideas.
These seconds were the longest in her entire life. She could only watch helplessly as her daughter got consumed by the slime.
Then, Eri disappeared. Nothing was left behind. Only the sinking feeling in Tatsumaki's stomach.
It was the worst feeling she had ever had, tens of times worse than the feeling she had when Fubuki was in danger.
Tatsumaki slumped on the ground with an unreadable expression. Her eyes and mouth were wide open in shock as she sat on her knees, looking at nothing. She stared at the empty wall with unfocused eyes, and her pupils shrunk to the size of small dots.
Her breathing got faster, and her hands began to shake. Sweat ran down her whole body, and she felt freezing cold and steaming hot at the same time.
What happened to her daughter?

End of chapter 12.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter.
Oh boy, what a cliffhanger. I'm so sorry :D
If you think this chapter was rushed, yes it was, but it was on purpose. This story doesn't need to drag on unnecessary. There would be zero interesting things to write about in this entire time frame. That's why I made this 'recap'.
If you are confused why Tatsumaki could not sense the last Nomu, the doctor was testing how to counter her telekinesis. He needs to hide his lab, or else it would be just a question of time before Tatsumaki will find it. I just wanted to clear that up.
And no, I did not forget about the range of the goo warp quirk. ;)
Well that's all folks. Please review. :)
Bye.
