Chapter 34: Entering The Purgatory
Dylan Riley and his group of girls were standing in front of the mystery girl as they were unsure if this girl was under control by a card.
"Is this the girl?" Nami asked Dylan and then they see a red "86" glowing on the girl's right wrist and then it disappears five seconds later.
"It is," Dylan said.
Dylan then felt like he saw this girl before. To him she kind of remind him of Grimoire Heart member, Meredy, but he wasn't sure as he only got to near the end of the Tenrou Arc on Fairy Tail.
"Is that Meredy, I can't tell?" Dylan thought.
Dylan then taps the right temple on his glasses as it started to scan the girl. After five seconds, the scan was complete and that mystery girl was indeed Meredy.
"Oh my god," Dylan said in shock.
"Dylan, do you know this girl?" Ristarte asked Dylan.
"She's from the same world as Beth," Dylan said.
"I don't recognize the girl, maybe it's because I don't go out too much," Beth Vanderwood said.
"So are you six coming after little old me?" Meredy asked the group.
"Yes, don't worry Meredy, we'll take care of you," Dylan said to Meredy as Beth was in shock.
"Meredy, as in former Grimoire Heart member Meredy?" Beth asked Dylan.
"Yes," Dylan said.
"Is that bad?" Nami asked Dylan.
"Maybe, but between you and me, she's on the lower end of the Seven Kin of Purgatory," Dylan said to Nami.
"What's the Seven Kin of Purgatory?" Nefertari Vivi asked Dylan.
"They are a group of seven mages from the Grimoire Heart guild, their goal is to grab the seven keys to unlock the extremely powerful dark mage known as Zeref, and to defeat the members of the Fairy Tail guild," Dylan said.
"Did it work?" Kinoko Komori asked Dylan.
"Part one it did, the second part did not," Dylan said.
"And she's what you said, the bottom of the totem pole?" Nami asked Dylan.
"Pretty much," Dylan said.
"I'll show you who is on the bottom of the totem pole," Meredy said angrily to Dylan.
Meredy then extends her right hand to Dylan and then it had a pink glow to it. Meredy then shoots this pink energy beam and then it hits Dylan hard as this green energy surround him as he screams in pain.
"DAHHHHH," Dylan screamed in utter pain.
"Dylan," Nami said to Dylan in pure horror.
After twenty seconds, the energy was gone as Dylan and the girls had this pink band around their right wrists.
"Dylan, are you okay?" Kinoko asked Dylan in concern as Dylan regained his bearings.
"Yeah, it felt like getting tasered," Dylan said as he looks at the pink band.
"What is going on?" Beth asked in confusion.
"Oh shit, Sensory Link," Dylan said in shock.
"What's going on?" Ristarte asked Dylan.
"We have to be careful, basically if one of us gets hit, we all feel the pain," Dylan said to the girls.
"Oh fuck," Nami said in horror.
"Yeah I knew you would hate that, and if one of you dies, then all of you will meet the same fate," Meredy said to the group as they gulped in nervousness.
"Dylan what do you want to do?" Ristarte asked Dylan as Dylan was in panic mode.
"Oh fuck, this is so fucking hard, I can't risk you girls' safety," Dylan said to the girls in a panicked tone as the girls were panicking as well.
"What's going on?" Kinoko asked in a panicked tone.
"This spell must cause us to feel the same thing Dylan is feeling," Vivi said.
"This is new," Dylan said.
"Dylan, get yourself in control," Nami said to Dylan.
Dylan was trying to breathe in and out to calm himself down. Soon it was working a bit as they were all calm and collected.
"Meredy is like no one you girls have seen before," Dylan said to his girls.
"What do we do?" Beth asked Dylan.
"I'm going to try something," Dylan said and then he looks over to Nami.
"Nami, get your Clima-Tact together and get ready to attack," Dylan said to Nami.
"On it," Nami said and then she twirls two of her Clima-Tact pieces as warm and cold bubbles start to lift up into the clouds.
Soon, these storm clouds appear above them as Nami puts her Clima-Tact together.
"Okay Meredy, get ready for a storm," Nami said to Meredy and then she points her Clima-Tact to the sky.
"Thunderbolt Tempo," Nami said as a bolt of lightning was coming at Meredy.
Meredy then raises her right arm in the air.
"Maguilty Dome," Meredy said as this yellow dome was surrounding her.
The bolt hits the dome as Meredy was completely harmless. The dome disappears once the bolt disappears.
"Shit," Nami said in shock as Meredy looks at Nami with an intense look in her eyes.
"Bad move," Meredy said to Nami as she points her right hand at the group.
Then, Meredy summons a whole bunch of teal blades that were pointing to the group.
"Maguilty Sodom," Meredy said and then the teal blades were heading towards the group.
"Oh shit, duck," Dylan said to the girls and then they duck the teal blades as they flew past them.
"That was a close one," Dylan said as he breathed a sigh of relief.
"GAHHH," Dylan screamed in pain as he holds his left arm and the other girls were feeling the same thing.
"Fuck, what happened?" Ristarte asked in shock.
Dylan then looks to see one of the blades was stuck in Nami's left upper arm (lucky it missed her tattoo by an inch).
"Oh shit, Nami are you okay?" Dylan asked Nami.
Nami then pulls the blade out of her arm and tosses to the ground as her arm was bleeding a bit.
"Yeah, never felt better," Nami said sarcastically as Dylan keeps the blade close to him.
"Okay, time to take flight," Ristarte said and then she summons her wings.
Ristarte then flies about fifteen feet into the air as Meredy summons more teal blades and they were pointing to Ristarte.
"Rista, be careful and try to take her out," Dylan said to Ristarte.
"Maguilty Sodom," Meredy said as the blades were heading towards Ristarte.
Ristarte dodges most of the blades until one of them hits her left wing, lucky for the others that didn't affect them. Ristarte then comes down to the ground and hits it hard, face first, which affects the others.
"Ahh fuck," Nami said in pain.
"This is horrible," Beth said and then they see the blades falling towards them.
"Oh shit, oh shit," Dylan said in a scared tone as he and the girls put their hands over their heads.
The blades hit the ground as none of the blades hit them, which was lucky for them. Dylan looks up to see the blades around them.
"Fuck that was close," Dylan said and then he pulls more blades close to him.
"What is Dylan doing?" Kinoko asked quietly as she sees what Dylan was doing.
"Vivi, show Meredy what a princess can do," Dylan said to Vivi.
"You got it Dylan," Vivi said to Dylan as she pulls out her Peacock Slashers.
Vivi then shakes her hips slowly as she twirls her slashers, which Meredy wasn't impressed by it.
"I'm not afraid of your little dance moves or those little toys you got," Meredy said to Vivi.
"You should be," Vivi said to Meredy as she slowly walks over to her.
Vivi then uses her slashers and hits them on Meredy's arms, stomach, and right cheek. Leaving a five inch thin gash on her stomach, four two inch gashes on her arms (two on each arm), and a three inch thin gash on her cheek.
Meredy then wipes the blood from her cheek and smears it along her face.
"That was a big mistake," Meredy said to Vivi.
"The big mistake was facing me," Vivi said to Meredy and then she swings her slashers at Meredy.
Meredy then summons a thirteen inch teal sword as the slashers wrap around the blade. Meredy then tosses the slashers away as Vivi's weapons were out of the equation.
"Not so tough without your weapons," Meredy said to Vivi and then Vivi nails a kick to Meredy's right cheek.
Meredy then regains her composure as she had a dark look in her eyes.
"I'm not some dainty princess you can push over, I'm a fucking fighter," Vivi said to Meredy.
Vivi then starts to attack Meredy with punches and kicks, but Meredy was blocking each attack with her hands.
Fifteen seconds later, Meredy sees an opportunity as she grabs a hold of Vivi.
"Come on Vivi," Dylan said to Vivi.
"Go kick some ass princess," Beth said to Vivi.
Then, Dylan and the other girls then felt a sharp pain on the left side of their abdomen as they knew something was wrong.
Vivi's eyes were wide in shock as she felt something go into her abdomen.
"Maguilty Dagger," Meredy said as she had this yellow dagger in Vivi.
Meredy then pulls out the dagger as it left a five inch long gash on Vivi's abdomen. Vivi then collapses onto the ground as Ristarte was starting to get up as blood was trickling down the right side of her face.
"Oh my god, Vivi," Ristarte said to Vivi in horror as the dagger disappears.
"Rista, get to Vivi and heal her," Dylan said to Ristarte as Ristarte crawls quickly over to Vivi.
Ristarte then lifts up Vivi's shirt to see the gash on her abdomen.
"Don't worry Vivi, I got you," Ristarte said to Vivi as she starts to use her healing powers on the princess.
"Alright, who wants to fight me next?" Meredy asked the others.
Dylan had a very angry look in his eyes as he knew Meredy made a big mistake.
"Kinoko, show Meredy how much of a fun girl you are," Dylan said to Kinoko.
"Got it Dylan," Kinoko said to Dylan.
"Try your best," Meredy said to Kinoko as she rushes over to her.
Kinoko then puts her hands out and then mushrooms start to sprout out all over Meredy's body.
"What the hell?" Meredy asked in shock as she tries to brush the mushrooms off her body.
"Didn't expect my Quirk huh," Kinoko said to Meredy as Meredy falls onto the ground with mushrooms sprouting out of the ground.
Kinoko then pulls out her spray bottles and starts to spray at the mushrooms, which starts to grow a bit.
Once Kinoko empties her bottles, she puts them away and looks over to Dylan.
"Kinoko, hop into that pile of mushrooms and take out Meredy," Dylan said to Kinoko.
"On it," Kinoko said as she was looking at the now tall pile of mushrooms.
Kinoko then jumps up in the air and into the pile of mushrooms.
Inside the pile of mushrooms, Meredy was lying on the ground as the mushrooms were off her body.
"This group is definitely one I haven't faced before," Meredy thought.
Kinoko then nails a double stomp on Meredy's ribs. Kinoko then steps off of Meredy as Meredy was holding her ribs in pain.
"Oh god damn," Meredy said in pain.
Meredy then stands on her feet as she moves her hands off her ribs.
"What's the matter Meredy, does the Grimoire Heart girl can't take down someone like me?" Kinoko asked Meredy in a playful tone.
"Oh you just shut up," Meredy said to Kinoko angrily as she swings her right fist at Kinoko, but Kinoko ducks the move.
Then, Kinoko and Meredy try to nail each other with punches and kicks, but they were deflecting each shot with their hands and knees.
Twenty seconds later, Meredy sees an opportunity and nails a knee to Kinoko's ribs, which cause Dylan and the other girls were feeling the attack.
Kinoko then nails a punch to Meredy's left cheek, leaving a bruise on it.
Meredy then pushes Kinoko away as Kinoko hits back first into a mushroom.
Meredy then summons several yellow blades as they were pointing towards Kinoko.
"Holy shit," Kinoko said as she was trying to get out of the mushroom pile.
Meanwhile, Dylan was watching as he didn't know what was going on in that mushroom pile.
"I wonder how Kinoko is doing in there?" Dylan asked and then he felt numerous sharp pains in his back.
"FUCK," Dylan shouted in pain as he gets on his knees.
The other girls feel the pain in their backs as they get on their knees as well.
"Gah it hurts," Nami said in pain.
"What the hell just happened?" Ristarte asked in utter shock.
Then, a sudden blast appears in the pile as Kinoko comes flying out and skidding across the rocky ground. She then stops when she skidded twenty feet away.
Dylan looks up to see six daggers sticking in Kinoko's back as he looks in horror.
"Oh god, Kinoko," Dylan said to Kinoko in shock as he runs over to Kinoko.
Dylan then falls next to Kinoko as he looks at the daggers in her back. He then pulls the daggers out of Kinoko as it left six three inch long gashes along her back.
"Oh fuck," Dylan said and then he looks over to Ristarte, who was still healing Vivi.
"Rista, get over here, Kinoko has some gnarly look gashes," Dylan said to Ristarte.
"I'm still healing Vivi," Ristarte said as she almost close Vivi's wound with a half an inch left open.
"This is important," Dylan said as Ristarte knew Dylan was being serious.
Ristarte stops healing Vivi and then she and Vivi race over to Dylan and Kinoko. Soon the pair reach Dylan and Kinoko and look at the injuries.
"That's bad," Ristarte said as Dylan hides the daggers from Meredy.
"Meredy did that?" Vivi asked Dylan.
"Yes and Kinoko is out cold," Dylan said as he looks over to Beth and nods her, while Beth nods back.
Then, Meredy steps out of the pile of mushrooms as she looked very pissed.
"Enough of these games, time to finish all of you off," Meredy said angrily to Dylan and his girls.
Then, Meredy gets hit by something and gets on her knees. She looks at her right arms to see two carrots sticking in them.
"What the fuck?" Meredy asked in shock as Ristarte starts to heal Kinoko during this distraction.
Meredy looks to her left to see Beth using her Vegetable Magic to strike her with flying carrots.
"Oh my god, Beth you're a life saver," Vivi said to Beth.
"No problem," Beth said to Vivi.
Meredy then pulls out the carrots and throws them onto the ground as blood was seeping out of the circular wounds.
"Those carrots won't affect me," Meredy said as she gets on her feet and looks over to Beth.
"Those won't, but this will," Beth said and then she summons a giant cucumber the size of a sword from the ground.
"Ooh I like this," Meredy said and then she summons a long sword with a yellow blade.
"Maguilty Saber," Meredy said as grips the makeshift sword tightly.
Meredy and Beth then rush towards each other as they swing their weapons. Beth sees an opportunity and strikes Meredy in her left kneecap, taking her down to one knee.
"Fuck that's a strong cucumber," Meredy said in pain.
Meredy then stands on her feet and turns around to look at Beth.
"But it's not strong enough to take me out so easily," Meredy said.
Meredy then swings her sword and slices the cucumber in half.
"Nice," Meredy said as Beth looks on in shock.
"My cucumber might have broke, but it still has some strengths," Beth said.
Beth then uses her broken cucumber pieces and punches Meredy repeatedly in the ribs.
After twenty punches, the cucumbers break into dozens of pieces as Meredy was holding her ribs in pain.
"Alright, I did some damage," Beth said and then Meredy moves her hands off her ribs as she steadies her sword.
"Oh shit," Beth said in shock.
"How the hell is she still standing?" Vivi asked in shock.
"She must be tougher than she looks," Ristarte said as she continues to heal Kinoko.
"Take this," Meredy said to Beth as she swings her sword at Beth.
Beth then jumps out of the way, but the tip of the blade slices at Beth's stomach, leaving an eleven inch thin gash across it. Then, Beth and the others feel the sting of the slice as they hold their stomachs in pain.
"God damn," Ristarte said in pain.
"If she keeps up with this, we'll be dead soon enough," Dylan said.
Beth then stumbles and lands on her butt as Meredy points the blade at Beth's noise.
"So, any last words?" Meredy asked Beth.
Then, Meredy gets hit with something on her back and gets taken down onto her knees. The sword knocks out of her hands and it disappears soon after.
"What the hell?" Meredy asked in utter shock.
Meredy then turns around to see Nami standing up and holding her Clima-Tact in her hands.
"Kind of hard to fight against five of us," Nami said to Meredy.
This distraction allow Beth to crawl over to Dylan and sits next to him.
Meredy then stands on her feet and turns to face Nami as that sneak attack won't set her back.
"You think you're smart, well that's about to change," Meredy said to Nami.
While this conversation was happening, Dylan whispers something to Beth and the other girls as they agree with him.
Meredy then tries to get Nami with a kick to her face, but Nami uses her Clima-Tact to block the attack.
Meredy then tries to attack Nami with punches and kicks to her body, but Nami was using her Clima-Tact to block the attacks as Nami was stepping back every attack.
Thirty seconds later, Meredy nails a kick to Nami's left knee as this stunned Nami for the moment. Meredy sees an opportunity and yanks the Clima-Tact out of Nami's hands.
"Now to give you a taste of your own medicine," Meredy said to Nami.
Meredy then swings the Clima-Tact and she strikes Nami in the face, stomach, and left arm as she and the others felt that.
"How does it feel?" Meredy asked Nami.
"Not too good," Nami said.
"Perfect," Meredy said.
Meredy then jabs the Clima-Tact into Nami's stomach and then she swings it and nails the Clima-Tact right under Nami's chin. The move knocks Nami onto her back as Meredy was standing over her.
"Okay miss, time to mess up that pretty face of yours," Meredy said to Nami as she raises the Clima-Tact into the air as Nami covers her arms over her face.
As she was about to be attacked, Nami could hear something hitting Meredy and then she moves her arms off her face. Meredy then drops the Clima-Tact as she looked like she got stabbed in the back.
Nami then sits up and grabs her Clima-Tact. She then gets on her feet and runs away from Meredy.
Nami then turns around and was horrified at what she saw. What Nami saw was seven daggers sticking into Meredy's back and legs.
"Oh my god," Nami said in horror.
"Nami, get over here," Dylan said to Nami and then she races over to Dylan and the girls, who were standing (except for Kinoko, who was still down and slowly recovering).
Meredy then moves her hands to her back and then she could feel the daggers sticking in her body.
"What, what did you do to me?" Meredy asked the group in shock.
"You might be able to get rid of most daggers, but not the ones I took," Dylan said to Meredy.
"I hid them carefully and when you were open, the girls grabbed the daggers and throw them at you," Dylan said to Meredy.
"Although I expect you to be out like a light," Ristarte said to Meredy.
"Well, you thought wrong, so very wrong," Meredy said to Ristarte as she turns around to face them.
Meredy then pulls each one of the daggers out of her back and legs. She then drops the daggers and then they disappear as blood was leaking down her back and legs.
"Okay you assholes, time to meet your end," Meredy said to the group angrily as she was limping over to them.
"She is starting to feel weak," Nami said.
"Yeah, I think it is time for you girls to give her your all," Dylan said to the girls.
As Meredy was getting close, Beth summons a watermelon and it flies over to Meredy, smashing it onto her head and breaking it into hundreds of pieces.
With Meredy dazed from the attack, Ristarte nails a roundhouse kick to Meredy's stomach. Then, Vivi nails Meredy with a punch to her left eye and a kick to her stomach, knocking Meredy down.
"Nice one Vivi," Ristarte said to Vivi.
"Thanks," Vivi said to Ristarte.
Meredy then gets back on her feet as she now sports a black eye from that punch.
"Okay bitch, you're so dead," Meredy said angrily to Ristarte.
Before Meredy could summon more blades, mushrooms start to sprout all over her body as she tries to get them off her body.
"Why are these mushrooms on my body again?" Meredy asked in shock.
What Meredy didn't know was that Kinoko got on her knees and using what little strength she had, she used her Quirk to distract Meredy.
"Perfect, do it Nami," Kinoko said softly to Nami.
"Yeah Nami, do it now," Dylan said to Nami.
Nami then points her Clima-Tact towards a distracted Meredy.
"Thunder Lance Tempo," Nami said as a very powerful bolt of lightning was flying towards Meredy.
Then, the bolt pierces through Meredy as Meredy felt a whole bunch of electricity damaging her body.
"AHHHHHHH," Meredy screamed in pain and horror over this powerful attack.
Thirty seconds later, Meredy gets knocked back forty feet as she was lying on the ground, knocked out cold with her body charred a bit and smoke coming out of her mouth.
"Smart move of using those storm clouds to send a lightning bolt into your Clima-Tact," Dylan said to Nami.
"Well the distraction helped a bit," Nami said and then Dylan and the girls see the link between them break as the effects were gone.
"Oh thank god," Vivi said.
"Yeah, I couldn't handle anymore of Meredy," Kinoko said weakly as Ristarte holds Kinoko.
"I can't believe I looked like that after Nami did that move to me," Ristarte said.
"Yeah, you looked like you just got put on a barbecue," Dylan said to Ristarte.
A few minutes later, the storm clouds were gone and Dylan pours some water from the stream onto the girls' wounds as this was helping them a bit.
"How are you all feeling?" Dylan asked the group of girls.
"Much better," Nami said.
"But it will be better once Ristarte heals us a little," Vivi said as Dylan finds Vivi's Peacock Slashers in the stream.
"Here you go," Dylan said to Vivi as he toss the slashers to her and Vivi catches them.
"Thanks," Vivi said to Dylan.
"Now, time to get the card out of Meredy," Dylan said and then he walks over to her.
Once Dylan was near the unconscious Meredy, he kneels next to her as he could smell the burnt flesh on her.
"Oh fuck, that's a strong smell," Dylan said as the scent was getting to him.
Dylan then puts his right hand near Meredy's chest as his right hand starts to glow. Then a card floats out of Meredy's chest as the number appears on her body and disappears soon after. Dylan's hand stops glowing as he holds the new Meredy card in his hand.
"Meredy, stars: five, special ability: Maguilty Sense, daily income: $160 per day," Dylan said as he read what was on the card.
"Wow, $160 dollars a day, fuck yes we are making over seven hundred and sixty dollars a day," Nami said in a happy tone.
"Considering we are adding another girl, it doesn't mean much," Kinoko said.
"Just let me have one moment of happiness," Nami said angrily to Kinoko as Dylan puts the card in his left front pocket.
"Okay, so who's carrying her back to camp?" Dylan asked the girls as the girls look over to him.
"Why do I bother asking, it's going to be the same every time," Dylan said as he knew this was going to happen every time.
Dylan then lifts his shirt over his nose and then he carries Meredy over his right shoulder. He then stands on his feet as the girls stand on their feet.
"Okay girls, let's go back to camp," Dylan said to the girls and then he and the girls head back to their campsite with Meredy as they unofficially got a new girl for the group.
That was not an easy task for Dylan and the girls as they went up against a woman who has a form of lost magic in her system. But they took down Meredy and now she's part of the group, well she will be in the next chapter and you'll get the details next chapter.
