There was a thick cloud of worry that sat heavily in Lucy's mind as she drove to Beacon Hills hospital. She tried to remember when she was a teenager- did she get into things that seemed borderline dangerous? Things that would've left Scott worried sick? Well, he was a kid at that time. Was this how Scott felt everytime Lucy went back to her ex boyfriend?

Was this how Scott felt everytime Lucy went back to her ex boyfriend?
As she stalled in her car at the red light, millions of possibilities racked through her brain regarding her own situation. Maybe she had no right crucifying the teenager in her head when she was still driving him insane as a grown ass adult.
The silence outside of the hospital was interupted as Lucy pulled her Charger into a vacant parking spot right in front of the entrance.
The glass doors revealed Melissa McCall inside, her dark curls cascading over her face as she diligently typed away at the computer situated on the front desk. The rhythmic clicking of the keyboard filled the otherwise quiet room, amplifying the intensity of Melissa's focus. Her determined expression and hunched posture showed just how dedicated she was to her work. She seemed completely immersed in her task, unaware of anyone watching her from the outside world.
She had no idea her daughter was right outside, entranced with the sight of her mother.
Lucy thought her mother was so beautiful, she looked so strong and feminine at the same time. Even with the mommy issues she had, there was always going to be an overwhelming feeling of admiration for her mother that made her want them to have a better relationship. That idea alone seemed to be enough to get Lucy out of the car, Scott pushed to the back of her brain for just a second as she hastily whipped through the cold to get into the lobby of the hospital.
Melissa looked up and smiled immediately at her daughter's presence, stepping out from behind her desk and approaching the girl for a tight embrace. She inhaled and caught a whiff of the tupperware Lucy was holding. "Don't tell me that's for me?"
The feeling of being appreciated always gave Lucy such great satisfaction, she couldn't even begin to contain the grin that spread across her lips at the way her mother was beaming at her. She handed over the dish with an enthusiastic nod.
"Smells so good. Thank you! I didn't think I would've had time for dinner."
"I thought so," Lucy responded. She almost wanted to tell her mom to taste the food at that exact moment, just so she could be praised about how good it was. At least this was a better experience than when she tried to be a good older sister to Scott. Her mind went back to him in that moment and the scene from before replayed in her head.
When her mom moved back to her position behind the desk, Lucy was quick to follow suit, leaning over the desk and folding her hands together. She started, "Mom, do you have any idea what Scott is getting into?"
Melissa looked up at her daughter, her brown eyes both confused and clueless. "Like with lacrosse and Allison?"
"No." These were some of the reasons why Lucy found it hard to talk to her mom. "I mean like Derek Hale. Do you know him?"
After pondering on the question for a couple of seconds, Melissa locked eyes with Lucy and furrowed her brow. "Do you not remember the Hale fire? From when you were a teenager?"
Lucy racked her brain in a similar fashion, almost looking like her mom's twin as she tried to remember what she was talking about. Then a rush of memories went through her head of death and despair years ago that she was never present for, but that the whole town of Beacon Hills whispered about for months.
"I was away. In that Stem program, right?"
"Oh yeah! Well I'm not exactly sure who Derek Hale is. But I'm sure he is related to them somehow. But that explains why you wouldn't know who he is. Did you ask Scott?"
"Did you?"
Melissa was taken aback by the sudden hostility in Lucy's voice. She had no clue that Lucy had been getting increasingly annoyed, to the point where it was evident in her tone.
Being sent away to graduate from a more prestigious boarding school in the city was one of the most traumatic things that happened to Lucy.
She was just living with her dad- and her mom claimed "she just wanted better for her" but that's not how it ever will play out in her memories. Melissa just couldn't exactly handle two kids and starting down the path of becoming a nurse herself. Lucy was the one who got shipped to one of the bigger cities in California with her absent dad who was climbing up in the police force- on his way to becoming the FBI agent he was now.
Surrounded by a sea of wealthy, absent-minded peers, the pretty girl felt like a diamond in the rough. The constant comparisons and materialistic attitudes made her insecure, quick to anger, and shallow at times. In that environment, all she had to cling onto was her appearance, for it was the only thing that seemed to matter.
It's also how she got involved with the man who ruined her life. That was one of the biggest reasons that Lucy couldn't come back to Beacon Hills. That experience was one of the biggest reasons that she couldn't connect with her mother. The girl had scrubbed it from her memory and followed down a path of self hate, parental resentment, and trauma. But even still- why did Melissa have to operate on this don't ask until told policy when it came to her kids. And here was Lucy trying to be the mom to her younger brother that she didn't have.
She couldn't shake the feeling that she was gaslighting herself, convincing herself that she had no right to question her mother or Scott. But deep down, she knew something was off about being in that house where her mother seemed to resent her presence. She wanted to confront them both, but also feared the truth that could potentially unravel everything she thought she knew.
It was only the soft calling of her voice from Melissa that made her face soften just a little as she was brought back from her trance. "Are you alright?" the nurse asked a simple question that left the two staring at each other.
It was too late for concern now. The younger of the two had already convinced herself that her parents didn't care, and even if they did, she would stubbornly shut down any response with her prideful desire for independence.
After a long sigh, Lucy said, "I'm fine. I guess I'm just bored here."
"Well how was things at the school?" Melissa had started smiling, completely accepting the change of subject. "Are you going to decorate your office and do little cute things?"
"For teenagers?"
"Well just to make it your own?" The suggestion did give a mental image of a cute and organized office, personalized with Lucy's love for earthy and boho expressions that she never really got the chance to explore in her old home.
"I guess that would be a fun project to get into for the time being. I guess I am different from the rotating nurses. I can't believe that's all mine."
Melissa came out from behind her desk again and wrapped an arm around her child to give a motherly embrace. She wasn't clueless that there was something troubling Lucy but at the same time, such time apart had made it hard for her to understand exactly how to speak to the young woman. After their hug she gave a warm smile and said, "that's the spirit. I want you to be happy here if you really want to stay."
With that idea fresh in her mind, Lucy took it upon herself to drive to the school, not only did she not want to sit at home alone but also for some inspiration. She did want to stay. This town had to become her new home.
At the same time, after a furious attack by the Beacon Hills Vet- or the Alpha - Derek was shuffling down the long dark road that connected to the High. He was always getting stabbed, tossed around, and shot but he would never get over the pain it took as he waited to heal.
His blood mingled with sweat and dirt as it dripped down his forehead, stinging his eyes and clouding his already hazy vision. A deep gash marked the side of his head, a painful reminder of the brutal attack from the Alpha. But even more severe was the claw marks cutting through his back, the sharp pain still throbbing through his body. The force of being thrown by the powerful creature knocked him out cold, leaving him unconscious and vulnerable on the ground.
Derek had no idea where Scott and Stiles were at that point, he just had to play for himself. It was silent besides the shuffling of his feet and the occasional sound of the woods surrounding him. But he felt safe at that moment, trying hard to keep his mind focused on getting to his house.
It was so late, he didn't expect anyone to be coming anywhere near the high school. That was until he heard the hum of an engine in the distance.
Through his blurry, shotty eyesight, the blinding glare of bright high beams forced him to drop his hands from his side and desperately shield his face. The intensity of the light made him feel like he was being scorched by the sun. As he stumbled and fell to his knees, sharp pains shot through his body, reminding him of the injury in his abdomen. Each movement required immense effort, and he could feel the heat radiating from his skin as he struggled to stand against the searing light.
Maybe the car hadn't seen him fall to the ground. Hopefully they would just leave. Derek remained still as he prayed to himself that whoever that was would just mind their damn business. But the car was slowing down and the lights were damn near illuminating his body.
Derek didn't even want to fight it, he was way too weak. He just closed his eyes and waited for the civilian to get into his business and definitely open up another can of worms for him.
"Derek? Oh my God, Derek!" The hazel eyes that were once squeezed shut snapped open to lock onto the wide eyed gaze that belonged to Lucy McCall. "What the fuck is going on? Oh my God, where is Scott?"
He scanned her face as she gawked at him from directly on top of her- she was quite possibly the only person that could help him at that moment and he was about to take full advantage of it. Shakily, Derek reached out a bloody hand and forced out words through his ragged breath, "get me up, please."
Lucy obliged, dropping down to her knees so she could use her body to get the injured man up off the concrete. So many things were going through her mind but she knew it was best not to bombard the man with so many questions when he looked like he could barely comprehend. The gory sight was enough to make Lucy woozy herself.
"I can get you to the hospital," she said as she gripped both his hand and his burly arm, "but you need to tell me where my brother is!"
Derek coughed. "He's fine. I wasn't with him" It was a lie but he didn't care. "No hospitals."
As much as Lucy wanted to continue asking for Scott's whereabouts, she was even more confused by the refusal to go to the hospital when this man looked like he would die any minute. She gave insight on her observation with a, "you look even worse than when I first met you. That is saying a lot. You have to go to the hospital."
"No." Derek spoke low and guttural to get his point across but while the girl hoisted him up to his feet, he tried to keep his eyes soft and convincing. He had learned by now the correct route with this girl was to be kind and calming.
That approach seemed to work and she stood still, holding his gaze. It was attractive to him how well she was willing to listen. With her chocolate doe eyes overlooking his body, Derek felt the need to bring himself to stand taller and stand firmly on his own two feet. She definitely noticed him adjust, but she didn't stop keeping him steady. Instead she asked, "okay, how can I help? You need help. I can take you to my office- in the school."
"No. Do not go to the school." Lucy nodded and began leading Derek to her car. She thought of her cream seats and the way they would be stained as she helped him into the passenger. But she knew how to get blood out of things.
"Well. I might have something to clean and patch you up at my house. But I don't know what you expect to happen after that. I'm telling you that you need real care in the hospital."
Derek was silent in the passenger seat. Finally being able to stop walking had left his body feeling weightless. He knew there was only a couple of minutes of sitting in the heated seat and hearing the lofi music on the radio before he drifted off.
Lucy took the silence as accepting at least that she could take him back to her place. Perks of being a nurse was always having at least some stock of things at home to dress wounds, and she knew her mother was no better. She would just have to look was all. This was so insane; all of the drama that seemed to follow this man and the way he had seemingly become a part of her day to day- and especially when she was trying to find Scott.
Once her brother crossed her mind, the many scenarios of how much worse shape he could be in started flooding her head. These are the reasons she would get pissed at her mom. How did she have no idea that Scott could even be associated with someone that was walking down the road so close to midnight and refusing medical care?
As she drove, Lucy pulled out her phone with one hand and started typing in her little brother's cell number before she remembered that he literally had his phone broken by none other than the man sitting next to her. She sent a glance over to Derek. He was sound asleep, his chest rising and falling heavily. Should she be so trusting of this man? Scott literally told her to stay away. She couldn't kick him out now that she had gone this far.
Thankfully the McCall house wasn't that far from the high school, and Lucy specifically drove there faster than was probably safe, hoping she would find her brother there. From the outside of the house, there was not one light on or any sign of life. She groaned internally and shut off her car with a push of a button.
As she turned to face Derek, her heart sank in her chest. His eyes, a deep and piercing green, were wide open and locked onto hers with unwavering intensity. She could feel a lump forming in her throat, the weight of doubt pressing down on her. It was impossible not to question herself, to wonder if she was making a mistake by being here with him.
Almost like he had heard the uptick in her heart rate, Derek softened his gaze and gave her a once over instead of staring in her eyes. "You ready?" He spoke first.
"Yes. Come on." Her hand hesitated on the driver side door. "Are you sure Scott is okay?"
"He should be fine." It actually made him feel bad to lie to her with such ease. But he was feeling better now and just needed something for these cuts and something to change into. There was clear hesitation on her face but she obliged and got out of the car.
There was shock on Lucy's face when she witnessed Derek get out of the car fine, all he had now was a little wobble as he walked. He seemed in much better condition as if the cat nap he took had magically healed him. The nurse in her couldn't help but go to his side still and help him walk to the Veranda of the house.
She couldn't deny the hairs standing on the back of her neck where she knew Derek's eyes were trained on her as she unlocked the door to the house. "Follow me," She said.
Derek obeyed, shuffling behind her thin frame as she walked up the large staircase of the house and then to a door. Upon her opening it, Derek observed his surroundings. The room looked like someone had just moved in at the last minute. He didn't understand where Scott's 'sister' had been all this time. Not that it mattered.
"Sit." She was speaking so meakly again but he listened and sat where she had motioned on the bed. "Take off the shirt."
At her command, Derek grabbed at his soiled shirt, not able to hold in his grunt of pain as he did. She rushed to his side and helped him, looking away from his muscular frame as she did. Lucy couldn't even think of the last time she had seen another man shirtless or even been that close to one.
Once she could see his abdomen, her doe eyes widened. Even though there were visible cuts in the shirt Derek wore and even blood in those spots- Derek's skin wasn't fully broken or even had deep cuts in it. It looked like he was just healing….
"What the hell…" she muttered.
Derek didn't feel like explaining. "It's not that bad. I think it just needed to be cleaned."
"So who's blood is all of this? It can't be yours from these cuts." Derek noticed the panic in her tone and the elevation of her heart once again. Shit.
"Please. It stings." Derek was trying hard to keep her mind off of anything else.
Lucy sighed and jogged down the hall to the linen closet. She grabbed alcohol, a rag, and some gauze from off the shelf and jogged back into her room.
Even if Lucy wanted to deceive herself, she couldn't. Derek was undeniably handsome, with a strong and athletic physique that impressed her. His skin seemed to perfectly fit over his muscles, and he was exactly her type.
Disregarding those thoughts in her brain, Lucy poured the alcohol onto the rag and braced Derek, "this is going to sting." Before she began rubbing the rag over his torso. Derek gave a small sigh of discomfort but sat still as the nurse cleaned up his wounds.
Perplexed, Lucy stopped when the blood was clear and stood back. Even though she was still wrapping the gauze around him she stuttered, "I don't think I even have to wrap these. This is so odd. I dont understand."
Derek was quick to redirect the girl again. "Listen, I need a shirt at least."
Even though her mind was still reeling from the circumstances, Lucy went to Scott's room and started going through his closet. This was his friend- acquaintance, partner - whatever he was Lucy surely didn't have anything for him to wear when she barely had clothes here herself. Scott would be fine.
With impeccable timing, just as Scott was crossing her mind, he was also crossing over the threshold of the front door downstairs- a shouting match between him and his mother in progress.
"I don't want to talk about it right now!"
At the sound of Scott's yelling, Lucy ran out of his room and ran to the top of the steps where she witnessed Melissa struggling to get her keys out of the door in a panic while Scott was walking away. Lucy ran down the stairs to meet her family in the middle of the arguement they were clearly in.
Melissa looked at her daughter in horror as she took in the sight of her with blood on her clothes and her hand. The mother gasped, shutting the door tightly. "What the hell is going on with you two?"
"Lucy?" At Scott's words, the attention had now fallen all onto the female McCall child.
"Don't Lucy me! Where have you been?"'
"Why are you covered in blood?" Melissa grabbed at her daughter's hands, searching for a wound that could explain the sight of her daughter.
"It's not mine. I was helping Scott's friend."
Scotts eyes widened as a million scenarios ran through his head. He was quick to follow up before his mother could, "What friend?"
"Derek?"
"As in Derek Hale?" Melissa's face and tone were full of dismay and shock. The color had completely faded from her tan skin at the thought of both of her kids being involved with this monster.
"You were with Derek?!" Scott was just as appalled. Lucy seriously didn't listen when it came to anything he told her about the men she should and shouldn't be around.
"No. I found Derek like he was left for dead in the middle of the road."
"Wait, wait, wait!" Melissa interjected. "I thought Derek was the one in the school?"
Now it was Lucy's turn for the questions, "What are you two talking about?"
"Well maybe you can get that information out of your brother because he's refusing to tell me anything that happened tonight!" Melissa was absolutely pissed, looking between her children through her eyelashes with a glare. Scott began scratching at the back of his neck folding under the pressure of his mothers stare.
"I don't want to talk about it. Allison and I broke up and I dont even have a phone to check up on her! I'm going through a lot right now- okay!" It was shocking for both the McCall women to see Scott shouting and stressing. They stood in silence still in the foyer of the house- all shuffling and confused on who should speak next.
Lucy definitely wanted to continue talking about Derek, and the fact that he was upstairs but she was smart enough to understand that maybe there was some correlation with Derek and the way her mother was freaking out. Scott was freaking out, too. Okay, she thought, Let me play good big sister first.
"Scott," Lucy broke the silence to ease some of the tension between the family. "Are you okay? Do you know her number? You can use my phone to talk to Allison if you need."
"I have to try."
Melissa again looked between the siblings. She felt the dismissal without them even having to say anything to her. It was fine- she needed to unwind and as their mom she was going to figure it out regardless from one of them.
Melissa struggled with conflicting emotions. On one hand, she longed for a deeper connection with those around her, but on the other, she couldn't bring herself to invade their privacy any longer. She was torn between wanting to pry information from them and knowing that it was not right. The dilemma weighed heavily on her mind, leaving her unsure of what to do next.
"We can talk later," she said instead and took that time to kick off her shoes and go straight to the kitchen where she could have some wine. At least Scott's dilemna got her out of work earlier than scheduled.
Now that the brother and sister were left alone, Lucy locked her eyes straight onto Scott's. "Seems like we have a lot to discuss?"
"You need to tell me about Derek Hale," Scott was whispering, "You don't have to get involved with him."
"It's not like I am actively looking to get involved with him. Come, let's get my phone so you can try to call Allison. We can talk about it later." The pair jogged up the steps together, nearing the door to her bedroom in a couple of seconds. Just as they reached, Lucy couldn't believe she had let such an important detail slip her mind. She placed a hand on the doorknob and turned to Scott to let him in. "I have to tell you something about Derek."
Scotts solem face perked up as he watched the girl swing the door open and start to say something. Her bed had some blood on the covers, and there was some medical equipment out as if she was tending to some wounds. The window was wide open as well, but Scott didn't need those context clues to let him in on what Lucy was about to say. For the first time ever he could smell Derek and his scent was all over the room. And his sister.
Derek was really making this a problem.
As the gray light of dawn clawed its way into Beacon Hills, the morning air was thick with an unsettling mixture of anxiety and curiosity. The town was waking up to a chaos it could barely comprehend - wanted posters bearing the face of Derek Hale plastered on every corner, their ominous presence a stark contrast to the usual tranquility. Lucy, caught in the whirlwind of uncertainty, found herself both intrigued and disturbed by this sudden turn of events. Her mind drifted towards Scott, who sat in silence, his usually vibrant eyes clouded with an unspoken turmoil. His demeanor had taken a sharp turn over the weekend, his snide remarks and constant brooding hinting at a deeper wound that seemed to have little to do with their recent attack and more with Allison - the girl who had just become his ex.
When Lucy arrived at the school that morning, there was a quick staff briefing to keep them up to date with the procedures after the attack and then she was able to get to her job of reviewing students' records. Allergies, physicals, disorders, meds, illnesses, etc. for over two hundred people. At least she'd have something to make her time go by. With a youtube browser open giving her some background noise, Lucy began filing.
The new school nurse was barely able to get any work done before she heard her phone going off from inside of her purse. The attack on the school had left her more cautiuous and the ringer on her phone was now on permanently. She dug in the bag and pulled out the cell phone just to see it was Stiles calling her. That fact made her glad to have had her ringtone on.
"Hello?" She said into the phone.
Stiles rushed tone damn near was shouting from the other side, "You need to bring an inhaler for Scott. We're in the Boy's locker room. Run."
That was all she needed for her next move to be running through the halls like a crazy person so she was in the locker room in under five minutes. The sight there was more than odd; Scott was shirtless and standing under the shower head with water pouring over his head while he hyperventilated.
Lucy reached over and gave him his inhaler and watched him take two huffs to catch his breath before she started questioning Stiles. "Okay, what the hell is going on and I want to know now."
"I think he was having some kind of panic attack," Stiles hesitated. "Because of Allison."
Scott didn't say much and Lucy took that as he was agreeing with what his best friend was saying. She knew he had no business trying to judge anyone on how they handled their relationship problems. She wasn't even sure how to handle the situation that was at hand now. It was quiet besides the shower running until Lucy sighed. "It's going to be okay, Scott. You just need to preoccupy your mind on other things for a little while. She will come back- you're literally captain of the lacrosse team, beautiful, sweet, getting everything together."
Scott turned off the water finally and ran a hand through his wet curls. "I'm not worried about getting her back." He paused. "Okay that's a lie but I just can't deal with this. Even when I try to stop thinking about her, everything going on just leads back to her."
"But what exactly is going on?" Lucy asked curiously. "Do you mean Derek?"
"Who still hasn't been caught, by the way," Stiles interjected.
"I really can't explain it all right now…. These jeans are so wet right now." Scott shuffled uncomfortably. This action annoyed the hell out of Lucy. It was always something with Scott and he never had an explanation and it had gotten to the point where Lucy barely had any patience for her baby brother. The only thing that was keeping her curiosities at bay was the way she had gatekeeped information he wanted to know from her regarding her situation for years.
"This is the last time I am going to give you some type of space. You have to tell me something. Like respect me enough to stop trying to bullshit me," Lucy spoke firmly and seriously, never breaking eye contact with Scott.
Before Scott could forge up a response, the blaring sound of Lucy's phone echoed in the locker room. Stiles peeked over her shoulder at the screen of the phone and Scott would have to be blind not to notice the look on both his best friend and his sister's face.
Lucy declined the call but less than a second later it was ringing again. Both boys watched as she silenced the cell phone and slipped it back into her pocket. Scott could feel the fear and panic radiating off of Lucy- something that he had been experiencing in almost every classroom today and he did not like it. Especially now when he was sure he knew who was calling that phone but he didn't want to ask. Both siblings felt out of place questioning each other when they were both harboring their own secrets.
"I have to get back to work," Lucy announced, running off quickly before she could get any protests or questions for the boys. She would once again have to change her phone number. This man was relentless and it was terrifying.
Since Stiles was in on the situation Lucy was in, Scott was relieved that he could vent to someone about it instead of going insane with another secret. They stood at their lockers later that day, fully dressed in their Lacrosse gear awaiting for the coach to announce what they were going to run for that day.
"I saw the messages he was sending her. It was pissing me off. That pussy." Okay Stiles was actually the one that was venting at the moment. "Now that you're a wolf- I think we should just find him and fuck him up."
Scott got lost in that idea of actually murdering Lucy's piece of shit ex. The full moon was fueling that anger he was feeling to the point where when his fists curled- he felt his claws digging into his hand.
"Scott!" Stiles shook his shoulder and snapped him back to reality. "Dude, you've been bugging out all weekend and now today. I'm really going to have to lock you up tonight."
"Where?" Scott questioned more aggressively than he meant to. "My sister is going to be home and what is she going to think?"
"Should we just tell her?"
"No! She clearly has way too much going on." Scott paused, leaning his head back on his locker as he thought. "Thankfully I put them on Derek's trail and that will keep her out of that mess so I can probably keep everything at bay for a little while longer. Just a little while longer."
Their coach blew his whistle, not giving Stiles a chance to respond, and began announcing, "Due to the recent pink eye outbreak- -thank you Greenberg- -the following players have made First Line on a probationary basis. Emphasis on Probationary."
This was enough to fully take Stiles' attention off the situation at hand. He was hoping to hear his name so bad it hurt. He eagerly stepped forward and titled his head towards the coach who continued talking, "Rodriguez, Taylor and… Oh, for the love of crap. I can't read my own writing. What is that? An S?"
At his words, Stiles was now climbing onto the bench, holding his hands into fists tightly in anticipation. He was so close he could smell and taste it.
The coach continued rambling, "No. No, I think it's a B. Yeah, that's definitely a B." Stiles slumped his shoulders into his body at that. His last name definitely wasn't Billinski…
Sitting, Stiles had his head in his hands while he listened to the rest of the announcement. "So that's Rodriguez, Taylor and Bilinski."
The boy couldn't even help himself from immediately jumping up and letting out a whoop. His name would just have to be Billinski..
Things were not going so well for Derek, though. Scott had in fact made him a number one most wanted criminal - or at least that's what it felt like. He couldn't even be at his home, around Beacon Hills, or even in the next town over. If he didn't have Lycan running through his viens, there would be no way in hell that he would've survived the last few days. He didn't even have a change of clothes since he had run out of Scott's house. He felt gross maneuvering through the woods in these four day old clothes.
Derek felt like a creep now, stalking the outside of someone's home who lived quite remotely in a more recluse part of California inbetween Beacon Hills and the neighboring town. But he had noticed the house that morning. Noticed the whole family that lived there leaving to do their own thing and more importantly he had noticed that the man of the house looked just about his size.
Once he hadn't heard not a pin drop in two hours, Derek finally made the decision that he could sneak onto the property. His claws made it easy to fumble with the lock of their back door, turning and twisting until he heard a click and the door knob budged.
This family clearly had money, but there was no time for him to admire their beautiful house and luxurious belongings. Derek moved quickly through the house and up their stairs until he found what he assumed was a master bedroom - and there was a bathroom attached. Of course it felt dirty and shitty to be doing what he was doing but he had no choice thanks to Scott trying to convince the police he was some serial killer.
Moving quickly, he stripped in the mirror and started peeling away the bandages Lucy had put on him. Her brown doe eyes flashed in his mind accompanied by the ghostly tingling of where her fingers had been on his body. Aside from the idea of her being Scott's sister, Derek thought of her frequently. It actually got under his skin.
Her small frame and curves swam through his head until he started feeling tension in his lower body. Quickly, Derek turned on the warm water and entered the shower so the grime started running down his body and down the drain. Now that he had gotten hard thinking about her- he could not stop imagining her pretty plump lips, the way she would nod along when she was told something,
From her toned muscles to her confident stance, everything about her was undeniably attractive; even though Derek had a sneaking suspicion that she may have had some flaws. This is why Scott was always so fiercely protective of her.
His mind wandered back to Scott. That little shit. The situation he was in was such bullshit all because of that fucker. Lying. Derek couldn't even think of a reason why he would try to pin that shit on him. At least his erection was gone and he could rush out of the shower.
Finishing up the shower, Derek dried his feet on the bathroom mat and walked over to the walk in closet in the room. He shuffled through the clothes in there before finding a plain tee and dark jeans. Freeballing in jeans was going to be the most uncomfortable thing and he knew it.
He couldn't deal with this shit for much longer. But at least Derek could be sure the Alpha he was after was Scott's boss. It won't be as easy to take care of him like it would've been before but now he could expose him as the real serial killer Derek was being pointed out as being so he could finally be a free man again.
Derek felt tingles under his skin as that string of events ran through his mind. To make matters worse, tonight was a full moon. The little teenage beta would not be able to help himself tonight and Derek just knew it. Luckily, he knew exactly where to find Scott. All he had to do was find Allison Argent.
As night rolled in, the weather was crisp and frosty. Lucy walked out of the gym and breathed into the darkness to see her breath lingering in the air. She shivered and wrapped her coat around her sore arms tight. Due to the inspiration she had been seeing lately, she felt the need to get back into the gym and get a quick pump.
Lucy tended not to do the things that reminded her of her past relationship when she got the chance to be away from him but for some reason things just felt different. Something had happened in the universe that was giving her more resolve. The girl got in her car and shook her head. She really needed some friends or something so she had something else to think about.
Actually, Stiles was the one who put that idea in her head which was funny considering he literally only had Scott. But she really had no one. Maybe the gym would bring her some hot girl that loves working out and going for brunch. She shall see. For now? Well she could talk Scott's ear off at least.
Music blasted through her headphones while Lucy jiggled her key in the front door. All she wanted to do was take a hot shower and watch something on netflix. For some reason she just felt off the minute that she crossed the doorway into her house. There was a bang from above her.
Lucy's heart stopped at the sound of loud, angry voices echoing from upstairs. Her hands trembled as she frantically ripped her headphones off, the fear in her gut growing with each passing second. She strained to make out the voices and their words, her breaths coming in quick gasps as she bolted up the steps. The memory of her brother's previous traumatic experience flashing through her mind, propelling her forward with determined urgency to protect him at all costs.
She burst through his door at the top of the stairs. When she noticed Derek Hale, she half expected Scott to be dead. Instead he was shirtless and covered in dirt. They both were filthy. What the fuck. Tired was actually an understatement.
"What the fuck?" She ran her sweaty hand through her thick locks. "And I don't want any bullshit right now!" Scott sighed heavily, dropping his head into hand without a word. No matter what clear signs of distress he was showing, his sister did not care. "You literally have someone you said was a murderer in your room now! Someone you keep telling me to stay away from yet is always around? Are you gay?"
Derek's response was swift. He tapped Scott's shoulder with his knuckles and urged him to speak up. After everything they had been through that night, with the constant battle and escape from hunters, Scott needed to tell his sister something before Derek lost all of his patience
Scott actually let out a shout, almost having a tantrum as he threw himself back on his bed and did a little shake. "You wouldn't even believe it if I told you! I can't deal with this shit anymore. I can't do this."
Now she had to pay attention to the distress. Time to play her older sister role. Slowly and with care in even her steps, Lucy walked over to her brother's bed and sat next to him. "You need to tell me something. This is insane. I can't act like it's not crazy. And I'm going to call the cops if you don't tell me about Derek right now."
"Scott." Derek didn't even hide the anger in his tone.
"Fine. You want to know?" Scott shook his head and sat up straight in his bed. "I'll tell you." adult.
The silence outside of the hospital was interupted as Lucy pulled her Charger into a vacant parking spot right in front of the entrance. Melissa McCall could be seen through the glass doors from outside, her dark curls draping over her face as she clicked away at the computer at the front desk.
"Did you?" The sudden hostility in Lucy's voice threw Melissa off. She had no idea that Lucy was growing more and more annoyed to the point where she couldn't even hide it in the tone of her voice.
Being alone in that environment, such a pretty girl sorrounded by people who also had absent parents but way more money than her made her the insecure- but also the short tempered and superficial person she could be at times. It felt like all she could rely on was her looks.
The thoughts running through her mind at the moment felt like she was gaslighting herself to believe that she had no right questioning her mom or Scott or even being in that house where her mother clearly didn't want her.
It was only the soft calling of her voice from Melissa that made her face soften just a little as she was brought back from her trance. "Are you alright?" the nurse asked a simple question that left the two staring at each other.
There it was. The concern that came too late because the younger of the two had already convinced herself that her own parents didn't care and even if she did, the pride from wanting to be independent shut down any response that could come from her pursed lips.
His blood was mixing with both sweat and dirt while it dripped down his forehead, clouding his hazy vision even more. There was a gash going across the side of his head, and an even deeper gash from the claws going through his back before the Alpha threw him with so much force it knocked him out cold.
Through his shotty eyesight, the blinding sight of bright high beams forced him to drop his hands from his side and replace them at his head to block the light. The movement almost took all his strength, removing the pressure from his abdomen sent shots of hot lighting up his torso that brought him to his knees.
This was so insane; all of the drama that seemes to follow this man and the way he had seemingly become a part of her day to day- and especially when she was trying to find Scott.
When she turned to look at Derek, her heart dropped. His eyes were open and trained on her intensely. It made a ball form in her throat. It was hard not to feel like she was making a mistake.
Lucy couldn't even lie to herself- Derek was so handsome and his body was strong and athletic, she found it impressive how his skin stretched over his muscles. He was honestly her type.
It was so hard for Melissa to have this disconnect but at the same time she felt this dilemma of now knowing what she could do other things than pry information from them- and that invasion of privacy was out of the question for her.
The oddities that had plagued the night before was quickly addressed in a staff meeting…. And the fact that there were wanted posters with sketches of Derek Hale all over Beacon Hills. That was more than shocking for Lucy to see and of course Scott waskeeping his mouth shut as far as that situation was concerned. Lucy thought he was being a little asshole actually, constantly upset and making slick comments the entire weekend and he barely even left. Lucy didn't even think it was about the attack that happened to him and his friends but more about this Allison girl that had broken up with him.
Now that he had gotten hard thinking about her- he could not stop imagining her pretty plump lips, the way she would nod along when she was told something, the small muscles she had- everything about her was so sexy even if Derek was sure she had something wrong with her. That's why Scott was so protective of her.
Lucy paused. Was that yelling? Her heart sank to the floor and she ripped her headphones out. There were definitely two voices going back and forth upstairs. She couldn't quite make out the voices or what was being said. Against her good will, and despite the way her hands were starting to feel clammy, Lucy bolted up the steps just at the thought of something happening to her brother again.
"No!" Derek was quick to respond to that one. Then he tapped Scott with his knuckles. After the night they had fighting and running from hunters- Scott better tell his sister something because Derek had absolutely zero patience.
"I'll tell you."
