Chapter 14
Dr. Janet Frasier stood with the county medical examiner, Dr. Quincy in the newly made infirmary for a debriefing on alien pathogens along with Marella, Michael Coldsmith-Briggs the Third aka Archangel and Devon Miles. Dr. Quincy was an man in his fifties, with graying hair. He had hazel eyes and a smooth face. He wore a blue dress shirt, tie and dark blue slacks and black leather shoes.
"You will find most alien pathogens have similar proteins and delivery systems as pathogens found on Earth." Janet stated. "However, there can be very aggressive pathogens as well. General Hammond in the future has authorized a vaccine to be made, based on the alien version of the common cold that you can use to inoculate your teams."
Dr. Quincy stated. "That would be a huge advantage, Dr. Frasier." He found he liked Janet as she was very pretty and smart.
She added. "As long as Sam can keep the using the mini gate as a doorway to 1984, I will be help as much as I can."
Archangel smiled as well. "That is greatly appreciated, Dr. Frasier." He too found Janet attractive and very intelligent.
Marella stated, "I can work as assistant. I have had some medical school."
Janet asked, "How far did you get?"
"First two years." she stated.
"We can certainly use a hand." Janet told her.
As they chatted, Michael Knight walked through the door. He called, "Hey Devon." He came closer. "You should meet the Colonel's teenage clone. Talk about a head trip." He smiled to Janet, "How is everything going?"
"I'm almost done with the debriefing, Mr. Knight." she replied.
Michael Knight asked. "These Asgard. They are clones, right?"
She affirmed, "Yes."
"They can clone anyone?" he wondered.
She nodded. "They can."
He stood beside himself. "Wow. I wonder if they would clone me and make a mini me."
Devon asked amused. "Why would you wish for such a thing, Michael?"
"Oh' I don't." he held up a hand. "It's just mind blowing knowing there is a teenage version of Colonel O'Neill running around."
Janet stated. "There are other races with the same ability."
"There are?" he asked surprised.
She nodded. "All of SG-1 has been cloned a few times."
"Wow!" he gasped.
She then decided to add, "Off world, SG-1 is pretty famous. Thor of the Asgard even named his ship after the Colonel."
He stood wide-eyed. "Seriously!"
She nodded amused by his expression. "Admired by the Asgard, feared by the Goa'uld, SG-1 represent Earth off world. Colonel O'Neill is the face of Earth to many allies and friends."
Archangel winced. "That's a scary thought."
Janet puckered in thought. "Occasionally." she agreed.
Michael Knight asked. "You have any idea who the aliens are that will give everyone amnesia?"
She shook her head. "I barely remember Mr. Hinckley. And I was in his class and I must have known about the red suit."
Devon asked, "Do you recall the field trip in the desert where the bus broke down?"
She tilted her head trying to recall. "Barely." She exhaled hard. "I remember going on the field trip. I remember stopping and having lunch at the diner. I remember getting back late. I remember something about lights but that's it."
Dr. Quincy suggested. "Maybe you could jog your memory by talking with Mr. Hinckley."
"Possibly." she agreed. "But we are dealing with a race that can manipulate us on a global scale and stay hidden despite the Gate."
"That's alarming." Michael Knight had to conclude.
"Very." she agreed. "You in the future do not remember Mr. Hinckley either. None of us do."
Quincy pondered. "I wonder if we could get you back in the school and in with your old friends and teachers if that would help it?"
"What do you mean?" she asked curious.
"Send you into the school." he told her. "As an experiment."
"I'm already there and in his class." she reminded him. "I don't think I can pass myself off as a student like Sam and Daniel. Which, frankly amazes me how well they can pass."
"How about as a teacher?" Quincy suggested. He looked about for support. "Send Dr. Frasier in as a teacher. See if she can jog her memory."
Archangel pondered. "We could send you in as a teacher."
She questioned. "Teaching what?"
"Science, math…your choosing." he assured.
"But my daughter and Jon are going in to the school." she reminded him.
Archangel came up with a cover. "We can send you, the Colonel's clone and your daughter in as a new family who just moved here. We give you the cover of a widow with two teenage kids. We enroll the two as Jon and Cassie Frasier for the cover."
A slight grin crept across Janet's face. "Let's do it!"
Surprised by how fast she agreed Archangel asked. "You are in agreement?"
She nodded. "I can't wait to see the look on Jon's face when he finds out he will be enrolled under my name."
"I have a question." Michael declared. "If SG-1 is like Earth's super stars to the galaxy, then what are you?"
She stated as a matter of fact. "I'm the Chief Medical Officer and I can pull rank."
Marella figured. "She keeps them in line."
Meanwhile
Ralph Hinckley heard that Janet from the future had returned with SG-1. He wanted to see her, to see what kind of woman she grew into. It would be a glimpse into the future of one of his favorite students. Dressed casually in a yellow button down shirt with tan slacks he walked into the new infirmary that Knight Industries installed in the warehouse. He paused for a moment. His eyes settled on the short woman standing before the group. Her red hair was neatly placed up above the collar of the green battle dress uniform. A smile crept across his face as he made his way.
"Janet." he called knowing.
She turned slightly. Her eyes settled on Ralph. Briefly she recalled him as her teacher. "Mr. H." she smiled back.
He approached arms open wide and gave her a hug. "I heard you came through the Gate with SG-1 and I had to see you." he told her. He beamed. "I am so proud of you. A doctor! I knew you could do it."
"Thank you, Mr. H." she humbly replied. She then had to admit. "I remember you as my teacher but I don't remember anything about the red suit." She then turned to the nearby counter top and picked up the newspaper. "And yet, here it is in black and white." She held up the article.
He asked. "Am I still around in the future?"
"You retired from teaching and started chasing lights in the sky." she regrettably told him. "I barely remember you and high school. I barely remember my class."
"Who do you remember being in the class?" he asked curious.
"Tony, Rhonda, Karl and Jose." she recalled. "I know Sam and Daniel were sent in undercover but I don't remember them at all being in class."
Marella stated. "I wonder if the aliens who will wipe out everyone's memory of Mr. Hinckley and the red suit will also wipe out memories of Sam and Daniel. What do I remember in the future?" she asked concerned.
"I don't know." Janet stated. "When I get back I will have to find you and ask you."
Ralph let out a deep sigh. "It's like I'm a pawn in a game. They give me the suit out of nowhere. I'm winging it. I have no idea how it works and what little contact I do get is them telling me I did good and keep up the good work. It's like…I'm being teased."
Janet stated. "You probably are. A civilization so advanced that can give the world selective amnesia can and will play games with you." She then stated, "I'm going into the high school undercover as a new teacher. Dr. Quincy has a theory that me being back in school, with my old class and teachers might just jog that hidden memory."
"I hope that works." he agreed.
