Chapter 5: Nature's thoughts:

Not long after arriving at The GCPD, Ivy was placed in the isolation cell Batman spoke about earlier. She had noticed that not many criminals or super-villains were present in the building. She recalled the only man the was currently arrested and locked up in the building was one of the soldiers of that man's militia. She thought back to his annoying cliche and villainous ranting while she was being brought in.

"Hey Bat!...Scarecrow's gonna break you! You won't see it coming!" These were the words of an irritated soldier with a broken arm.

"Honestly...why do you even bother playing with these meat-sacks?"

Ivy decided to pass the time by thinking about everything that has happened as of late. She thought about how she was forcefully abducted. This bitter memory enraged her. There will soon be enough time to deal with Scarecrow and his allies that personally hurt her. She had already started plotting her revenge against them.

Crane and Lynns will pay dearly for what they've done to me." Scarecrow and Firefly were high on Ivy's personal revenge list. The image of Firefly burning all those innocent plants during the meeting at the Asylum kept playing in her mind. Along with Scarecrow and his partner smashing flowerpots across her head and being locked in a cell as a test subject to Crane's pathetic fear toxin. She was more angry at the fact that she was reduced to a man's tool. She now had another reason to hurt Crane and his allies.

Why Harley, why'd you align yourself with that ugly, disgustingly scarred man?" The botanist thought about how her fellow former doctor friend in Harley had decided to join forces with Scarecrow. Harley was really desperate to destroy Batman to avenge her dead "boyfriend", who was as an equally disgusting person as Crane was. Ivy then thought about The Joker. Secretly, Ivy was glad the psychotic clown was dead and not coming back, but she wouldn't tell Harley that due to being her friend and out of fear of what Harley might do.

Her friend was very emotional when it came to the subject of The Joker. Ivy couldn't stand the psychotic clown prince of crime and had made this known to Harley on multiple occasions. She had a flashback to a conversation they had during one of the many times Harley would occasionally break off from The Joker.

Flashback

"Now now Harley, you're not immune to poisons like i am, you won't last ten minutes out here in Toxic Anchors."

"But i hate shots! I HATE EM HATE EM HATE EM!" Harley whined like a child as Poison Ivy administered the antidote that would make her immune to most toxins and poisons. Harley was weak in comparison to Ivy as she was a metahuman with very unique powers and abilities.

"Ugh!" Harley groaned. "You'd think after living with Mister J i'd be used to a little pain."

This annoyed Ivy, she wanted to know why her new friend would constantly put up with abuse, both physically and emotionally from a man, yet proudly still stand by his side. This confused the eco-terrorist greatly. "Why do you put up with that clown?"

"Don't get me wrong, my sweet puddin can be a little rough around the edges sometimes, but i know he loves me."

"I'm sure he does." Ivy said in a sarcastic manner. "You are just one big forgiving door for The Joker to walk all over with his dusty shoes."

"I AM NOT!" Harley replied in a very defiant manner. Then she gets saddened a bit. "Am i?"

"Cheer up kiddo, you just need a good lesson in women's self esteem."

"OUUUU OKAY!" Harley replied enthusiastically. "When do we start?"

Poison Ivy smiled knowing that she was going to teach her new friend a good lesson in a woman's self esteem. "First let's play with the boys...on our terms." These lines would forever be the beginning of one of Gotham's most infamous criminal duos...

End of Flashback

Ivy smiled lightly after she finished having her memories about Harley. They were good times for her. When they needed no man to tell them what to do, what they couldn't take. She had missed that dearly. Now it seemed as if Harley made it her personal main goal in life to destroy Batman.

As more time passed, Ivy continued sitting in the isolation cell, lost in her thoughts. Ivy had even thought about the one thing in her life that she was devoted to...her dedication to plant life cause and ridding Gotham and possibly the entire planet of man to make room for her babies to grow and thrive on.

Ivy thought about her cause and her dedication that she spent most of her meta-human years on. Everything from her first gaining her powers, her run-ins with The Dark Knight and his allies in the past as well as her interactions with some of Batman's rogue's gallery, or as Ivy liked to call them, demented sacks of flesh.

The botanist then noticed something. Some small plants on a desk near two chatting police officers. Ivy decided to use her abilities to listen in on them, seeing if she could learn about anything fascinating. But what she was about to hear from the two officers was going to surprise her dearly.

"Poison Ivy's misunderstood man, i can honestly see her cause and why she does it."

"Me too man." Said the other officer. "It's just her methods that i don't agree with."

"I feel you man, it's just not a lot of people pay attention to the natural environment around them, especially in a place like Gotham."

"I know, my daughter is serious about plants and animals, she nearly ripped me apart for accidentally stepping on a dandelion." The two officers shared a laugh at this. Ivy was secretly blown away by this revelation. While it annoyed her that he stepped on an innocent plant, she figured they weren't the worst of the pigs. She continued to listen on, seeing as something interesting had finally happened during a boring and dreadful night.

"Remember when Sharp tried to bulldoze an abandoned and overgrown garden somewhere in North Gotham was it? Our girls and their group of protesters weren't gonna let Sharp off that easily."

"No kidding, thank god we got our daughters and that mess sorted out, Sharp was pissed. He tried to have my daughter, your daughter and the rest of those kids forcefully enrolled in a delinquent program for a peaceful protest. If it wasn't for Bruce Wayne buying the place right under Sharp's nose, his lawyers and his kickass PA team spreading more awareness to the cause of nature, there's no telling what that maniacal idiotic EX-Mayor would've."

"Amen sarge, we'd do anything for our kids."

"No kidding, with how dedicated the girls are towards plants and animals, I'm not surprised they practically worship Poison Ivy."

"If this shit with Crane and his toxic crap hadn't forced a citywide evacuation, we'd have the night off." The officer sounded annoyed and stressed out.

"Look on the bright side sarge, at least the girls won't be begging us to take a picture with Poison."

"Yikes, that'd be a nightmare alone, I guess it'll be a while before they understand what a criminal is. But hey, we had our heroes back in the day, I guess she's their own hero in an odd way."

"If only she'd stop being a super-criminal and poisonous killing machine. THEN, she'd be the perfect role model."

Ivy was Astounded that she had actually had people that had supported her cause and was practically as dedicated as she was to not only plant life but mother nature's animals as well. It made her briefly rethink some of her extreme plots to force Gotham to 'give in, to a superior kind', something she once said.

Before she could really dive into this more, a familiar face stood in front of the isolation cell.

The Dark Knight...Batman.

He looked more serious and brooding than ever. "Ivy, I need your help..."
