I own nothing, but I sure do enjoy working with these characters. I have had the outline for the Thanksgiving weekend done, and what I thought was going to be one chapter is turning into multiple. So, please be patient as I pull this together. I hope you find this interesting; I really enjoyed writing it.
2007, The Wednesday before Thanksgiving
Honor is sitting in the living room, drinking a cup of tea and contemplating the change of Thanksgiving day plans she made with Logan. What was supposed to be one big meal with Huntzbergers and Gilmores has become a two-day series of events. She rubs her belly and coos to her growing son, "You are going to eat very well over the next few days, my little Jason; at least, that is what your Uncle Logan has told me." Honor loved Rory; she was okay with Lorelai, and Luke was a good guy. Emily and Richard had changed over the years from being very reserved to much friendlier and easier to get along with now that they had Rory in their lives on a regular basis. Honor wished her parents would change, too. She knew that Mitchum was being practical and not pushing Logan and Rory away or making comments about her being appropriate like Shira because he really did want Logan back at the helm of HPG. He had also confided in Honor that he thought that Rory might eventually be willing to take on an executive job at HPG if he played his cards right. Honor had decided to sit on that piece of information until after the wedding. There is no reason to scare either one of them off, and knowing that Mitchum is planning to woo you into an executive position is definitely grounds for not getting married. She hears footsteps and expects to see either Rory or Logan finally emerge, but it is Josh.
"Hey, Babe." He leans over and kisses her forehead as he settles in next to her on the couch, "what are you thinking about?" Honor turns and puts her feet into his lap; Josh dutifully starts to rub. He seemed to do more foot rubbing than anything else in the past few weeks, but he is excited to meet their son and knows that Honor has had a pretty uneventful pregnancy, and if foot rubs keep the stress at bay, he'll rub all day.
"I am wondering what Logan meant about the Stars Hollow Thanksgiving experience. Do you think the meals are coordinated, like we only have appetizers in one place, then the main meal followed by a new place for dessert? Or are we really going to be expected to eat three full meals in one day? I mean, I can pack away more than ever now with little Jason here, but three full Thanksgiving day meals and then another one on Friday at the Gilmore's house, followed by Saturday at the Huntzbergers. I don't think I can eat that much." She is looking anxious about the itinerary and plan.
"I wouldn't worry about it. Just eat what you want; you can always claim some mommy issue if it becomes too much, and we can leave."
"Oh, don't worry, I am doing that on Saturday." They both laugh, and Josh switches feet while they both fall into a comfortable silence.
Logan comes down the steps with Rory right behind. They had gotten coffee and rolls before anyone else had been awake but were returning for a light dinner, knowing they needed to leave room for the Stars Hollow Thanksgiving day adventure that would be Thursday. Logan looked into the living room and saw Honor with her feet in Josh's lap; he was still rubbing them, and she was sleeping. "Ah, Ace, look at wedded bliss." She playfully smacked him in the shoulder.
"You know, that could be us in 9 months. What with all of the activity for the past 24 hours." She watched as the blood drained out of Logan's face, "just kidding, the IUD is properly placed. No little ones for a long time."
"Why would you do that to me, Rory?" he barely squeaked out.
Honor's voice floated across the room, "What did the perfect Rory do to you, Little Brother?"
Logan just grinned, "Nothing, the perfect Rory just likes to tease me." with perfect coming out dripping in sarcasm.
"Hey, you take it back, I am the perfect Rory, well, at least for you." She leaned in to kiss him. "Remember that while I am in Iowa for the next few months, I still don't think Iowa should go first. Plus, the food is "
Logan interrupted, "Not Luke's?"
"Yeah, definitely not Luke's or Margaret's or Sookie's or even my grandma's cooks."
"Better than Lorelia's, right?"
"Um, everything is better than my Mom's cooking. That is easy to beat her out. I do notice that she makes friends with people who can cook, and I appreciate her for that. Speaking of cooking. Honor, do you have anything in the house to eat, or should we order something?"
Honor goes to pull her feet back, but Josh holds on. He pats them before pushing them to the side of the couch and stands up. "we did give Gabriela off for the holiday weekend, seeing as we aren't hosting any of the meals this year. However, she left food that just needs to be heated up. Mostly soups, Honor explained that we would be eating all day, every day, and would only need a couple of snacks. Let me warm the soup and toast some rolls; then, we can have a light dinner before heading to bed." Josh smirked with the comment on heading to bed. He was wondering if Logan and Rory would be able to finish the meal before heading back upstairs.
"Hey, soups on," came the call, which brought everyone to the table. It was set up in the kitchen's breakfast nook instead of the formal dining room. Rory had just finished telling everyone about her upcoming interview with Oprah when the table was violently knocked by a foot coming from inside Honor. "Oh, geez, that was not nice there, Jason." Honor rubbed her swollen abdomen, and Rory looked dumbfounded.
"Does that happen often?"
"No, well, not kicking the table; the kicking does, but mostly when I try to sleep. Jason here seems to wake up when I go to sleep and then falls asleep when I am up and moving around." The conversation continued along the lines of the impending arrival of Jason in the next month with them wondering if he would be there in time for Christmas and the wedding.
Thanksgiving Day
"Hey, Mom," Rory's voice rings out as she holds the door open for Logan to follow her walking into the Crap Shack.
"In here." Returns Luke's voice.
'wow, is that apple pie I am smelling?" asked Logan as he and Rory walked into the kitchen.
Lorelai had grabbed a couple of cups and was pouring them for Rory and Logan, "and pumpkin pie and sweet potatoes. Here" she handed each a cup and grabbed her own.
"That is your 5th cup," Luke started.
"Sixth, and who is counting?" smiling over the mug as Luke groaned and shook his head. "So, are you ready to eat your way through Stars Hollow?"
Logan grinned and pulled on his pants, "no belt."
"Oh, this one is smart." Lorelai patted him on the back in appreciation of him embracing the plans.
"Thanks." Logan's face lit up with the compliment, and Rory let out a sigh of relief that her Mom was going to make an effort to be friendly and decided that unless something changed during the day, she was just going to enjoy the time with friends and family.
"Oh, yeah," Lorelai started, "we also had a change of plans."
Logan's eyebrow went up, and he cast his eyes at Rory, who was back to holding her breath for the shoe to drop, while she cheerfully turned to her Mom, "Nero going to meet Morpheus?"
"Nope, Tess stole Katherine's idea."
"Ok, then let's close the deal."
Luke looks at Logan as he takes out the next pie. "Do you know what they are talking about?"
Logan starts confidently, "First, we entered the Matrix, but then..."
Lorelai interrupted, "Oh, trouble keeping up there, working boy." Winking at Rory as daughter and mother maintain their smugness. Lorelai finishes, "Given the number of people coming, we decided to host Thanksgiving at the Dragon Fly again this year and invite everyone to the main course and dessert."
Rory hugs her mom, "Thanks, Mom, that will be much easier on Honor. Logan, you want to call to let them know to go straight there." Turning to her Mom
"two o'clock?" Rory asks, and Lorelai confirms with a nod.
Logan pulls out his cell, "consider it done." As he walks toward the living room.
Rory turns back, "So, how are the wedding plans coming?"
Lorelai sits down at the table with her coffee mug and motions for Rory to join her, "We will have the ceremony at the gazebo with lights, then head to the Dragon Fly for the reception; I agreed for Sookie to plan the food and do prep, but she is bringing in a crew to do the final touches and serve so that she can be in the wedding party - you and Sookie. Luke is going to have Jess and April. I asked our Troubadour to play for the entrance, Davey is the ring bearer, and Martha, our flower girl, and then Hep Alien will play some pieces with a DJ filling in the rest at the reception. I already have the dress, and I am really excited – you know, wanting to put on the dress and veil excited." She reaches over and touches Rory's arm with a look that assures Rory everything is going well.
"Oh, Mom, it sounds wonderful; a Stars Hollow Christmas wedding; it gives Grandma her winter wonderland and you, well, Stars Hollow. I am really happy for you."
Lorelai's mouth pursed, "Well, now I have to go back to the drawing board."
"Why do you say that?" Rory realizes her mistake was saying that Grandma will be happy is the best way to make her mother rethink all of her plans. Chewing on her lip, she knows her mom will continue if something doesn't change.
With the pitch of the voice rising, "Giving my mother something she wants?!"
Trying to speak calmly, "Oh, Mom, you aren't giving her what she wants. It is just ironic, and she is not doing any of the planning. Just think it will photograph well."
"I am serious; if she thinks my wedding has her influence, she wins," Lorelai spit out.
"The real winners are you and Luke – you are getting married! I am so excited." Rory rubs her hands with excitement, hoping this can end soon.
Just as Lorelai inhales to start up again, a knock at the door followed by Babette's voice. "Hey, Sugar, I hear you in here." She walks into the kitchen holding a bowl, "I made cranberry sauce," she puts up her hand, "now don't you fret Lorelai; I checked with Sookie first, and she is good with it, but I wanted to know if you want to take it or should Morey and I bring it?" Looking around the kitchen, Babette takes in Rory sitting in the chair, "Oh, Rory honey, look at me just barging in here and talking about cranberry sauce; how you been, sugar? Is everything good with your handsome fella? What's his name?"
"Logan"
"Yeah, Logan, everything good with him? Which newspaper should I be reading next? I just love your articles, Rory; they are fantastic."
Rory turns to look at Babette, "Everything is great, Babette thanks for asking. Logan is here with me but had to call his sister, so he is in the living room right now."
Babette plows forward, "You aren't going to be having a double wedding in December with your Mom, are you, Sugar?"
Rory breathes in, "Nope, Mom is going to be solo in the spotlight."
"Ah, that is good, Sugar; well, Lorelai, let me know if you need anything. I gotta get going." She starts to walk out, and Lorelai jumps out of the chair.
"Hey, Babette,"
"Yeah, Sugar?"
"The cranberry sauce."
"Oh, my gosh, I totally forgot; here you go, enough sauce for 50. That is all we are having right?"
Lorelai tilts her head to the left, "A few less, so this will be perfect, and we can take it with the pies that Luke made."
"Perfect, Sugar, we will see you there. Two o'clock. Looking forward to it." Babette hands her the cranberry sauce, opens the door, and calls into Lorelai, "Well, looky here, you have more guests." Turning back to the porch, "Hey, gnome nabber. Hello." and walks out, leaving the door open for Jess and a blonde woman to enter the house.
"Hello, Luke?" Jess's voice comes into the kitchen.
"Hey Jess, in here," Luke responds. Jess takes the blonde woman's hand to lead her into the kitchen.
"Hey, Luke."
Luke turns around and sees the woman standing next to Jess.
Lorelai puts the cranberry sauce onto the table, "Hey Jess, how are you, and who is this?" she asks.
"Hey, this is Alicia; we met in Philadelphia."
Alicia extends her hand toward Lorelai, "Hi, Lorelai, right?"
"Yeah, hi Alicia."
Luke walks up behind Lorelai and places his left arm around her waist while reaching out his right hand to Alicia, "Hi Alicia, I'm Luke."
A bright smile crosses her face, "OH, hey, Uncle Luke, nice to finally meet you."
"Uncle" Lorelai parrots.
"Yes," Alicia nods, "Jess talks about his Uncle Luke and crazy Stars Hollow all the time. It is rather sweet how he bashes the traditions, but he does it with a whisp of nostalgia, so I know he appreciates what Luke did for him."
Luke looks at Jess, "So, you talk about me and appreciate me, huh?"
Jess shakes his head, looking sternly, "She exaggerates; trust me, I have never indicated any form of appreciation."
Luke grins, "Well, that is a relief."
Rory walks into the kitchen, "Hey Jess, I didn't know you were coming. Oh, hello."
Jess puts his arm around Alicia, "Alicia, this is my ex, Rory; Rory, this is my girlfriend Alicia."
Alicia smiles and extends her hand to Rory, "Hi, Rory, nice to meet you. I hear you are engaged. Is the fiancé here?"
Logan hears the introduction and comes into the kitchen, placing his arm over Rory's shoulder while putting away his phone and reaching out to shake her hand, "The fiancé is here. Hi, I'm Logan." Both men have their arms protectively around their respective partners' shoulders by this point.
Logan looks at Alicia, "Sorry, I missed your name; I was talking to my sister."
Alicia blushes a bit, "right, I'm Alicia." Turning away from Logan and back to Luke, "So, we came to see if there was anything we could do to help prepare for the big day."
Jess interjects, "We came to get away from TJ."
Luke grins and returns to the oven, "Now that makes a lot more sense; he is hard to take."
Jess interjects, "And my Mom was going a bit overboard on the questions regarding our relationship. Speaking of, Rory, be prepared; Liz will ask you a million questions at the dinner."
Rory smiles, "Great Jess, nice to know that I have the third degree to look forward to."
Logan squeezes her shoulder, "Oh, and um, another little surprise, my Dad and grandfather are coming with Honor and Josh."
Rory's face droops, "Shira?"
"Spa," Logan assures her.
"Yippee."
Alicia looks puzzled, "Spa?"
Logan jumps in, "Yeah, my mother, she tends to go to a spa for the holidays. Good for the rest of us." Turning to Rory, "The dark lord promised to behave according to Honor, whom I think threatened to withhold grandchild visits."
Rory gives a half smile and replies very quietly, "Well, this should be an interesting day and I do hope that the threat of the grandson being withheld works."
Lorelai stands up and clinks a spoon against her glass, "Attention, hey, can I have everyone's attention, please."
The room quiets down as all eyes look in her direction, "Thank you and Welcome. We are very excited to have so many of you here for Thanksgiving dinner. I particularly want to thank Luke and Sookie for doing all of this cooking so the rest of us can relax. Especially since Sookie is expecting her third."
at which point Sookie chimes in, "And final"
Lorelai repeats Sookie, "and final child, per the mother. Anyway, we are excited to have Rory joining us from the campaign trail along with her fiancé Logan and members of his family, so please make sure they feel the Stars Hollow welcome. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone, and let's dig in."
Rory is watching as Mitchum and Elias are sitting partway down the table. She sees that Honor and Josh have taken seats near them and pokes Logan in the side, "You think they are going to be ok? Should we move closer?"
"Ace, I think that moving closer would cause more problems. Right now, they will just be polite. Where is Taylor?"
"Logan, you can't be serious, Taylor, really?"
"I love him; he has the craziest ideas on business; I thought he might prove very entertaining for Mitchum and Elias."
"Oh, yes, just what Thanksgiving needs is your Dad and Granddad being entertained by Taylor." Turning toward Lorelai, "I thought Grandma and Grandpa were coming."
"They called the other day and said they couldn't make it today, but Friday night dinner."
"Thanks for the heads up there, Mom."
"I didn't want you to run off."
"I still can."
"But you won't."
"Yeah, you're right."
"See, Mommy knows best."
"Looks like tomorrow night is not just dinner with my grandparents but will include my Mom and Luke," Rory mumbles to Logan
"Ace, we already knew we were eating with your grandparents and hey, better than dinner at the Huntzberger house."
She smiles, "True, but I was, well, thought it was just going to be us on Friday night and we still have Saturday to get through with your folks."
Logan leans in and plants a sweet kiss on her cheek, "We will see how it goes today; there might still be a get of jail-free card that we can draw." Nodding down the table toward his family.
Meanwhile, down near the Huntzbergers. While Honor thinks that this should count for her Huntzberger Thanksgiving dinner, she knows that Shira will be home from the spa on Saturday and has made it very clear that she is expecting them. She is also aware that by the time Saturday does roll around, it is very likely to be just she and Josh at the mansion unless she can keep her Dad and Elias in line and make sure that Logan doesn't get upset about something, so Honor continues to diligently ensure everyone is polite and, so far, has steered the conversation along very appropriate and safe paths, including listening to Miss Patty talking about her dancing days. She is glad that her grandfather can't hear the conversation a few chairs down about some guy and his pig.
Rory's head pops up when she hears Mitchum's voice, "I know you, you played at Mr. Kelly's in Chicago. Jazz pianist."
Babette's face lights up, "Yes, he did, Morey, this guy remembers you."
Mitchum turns to Babette, "and you scatted."
Mitchum is visibly excited, "Dad, this is the jazz pianist I told you about from Chicago his sound was like Thelonious Monk." Turning back to Morey and Babette, he points at his father, "Elias here used to take me into New York to listen to Monk play." Once again addressing his father, "This Dell guy was the first person I ever heard come close to Monk." Turning back toward Morey, "Well, it is truly an honor to meet you; I am a big fan, Mitchum Huntzberger." Mitchum reached out to shake Morey's hand who was looking a bit overwhelmed.
Rory leaned into Logan, "I never thought I would see the day that your Dad would be impressed by someone he met, and certainly not in Stars Hollow."
With his patent smirk, "There is a first for everything, Ace."
Logan saw Honor relax a bit and Josh take her hand. There was hope that Saturday would not be as dreadful as they all anticipated.
Rory listens as Luke talks with Jess and Alicia about April and how well she is doing in her first year of high school. She thinks back to her time at Chilton and how much life changed due to her attending the prep school. Her mind wanders back to her argument with Logan when he talked about her having privilege and being one of the elite. Sitting at this table, she notices the little things: differences in how people hold themselves, the volume of their voices, the conversations, and the formality or lack thereof of the language. Rory is enjoying just soaking up the Stars Hollow friends and family when she hears Jess' voice breakthrough.
"Jess to Rory, come in, Rory."
"Huh, oh, sorry, I was."
"lost in your own little world?"
"Yeah"
"Want to share?"
"No, just making observations, helps me to sit and watch people and listen for my writing."
"Yeah, I know that feeling; by seeing the little things can provide a canvas in the mind to write a scene better or develop a character better. But I thought you were doing more political stuff."
"I am, but that doesn't mean I don't want my stories to be rich with observations. Plus, who knows, someday I might write a book."
"Yeah, what about."
"I don't know, maybe Stars Hollow"
Logan has been listening, "Ah, so you are thinking of a comedy"
Jess scowls, "more like a tragedy."
Alicia pulls back some with Jess' comment, "Why would you say tragedy? This is a great town, and I can definitely see Logan's comment about it being a comedy. You just make the guy with the pig the main character."
Logan laughs, "Oh, no, he is the sidekick to Taylor; now a story focused on Taylor would be hilarious."
Jess looks at Luke, "Ha, Luke, then you will be figuring prominently with how much you argue with Taylor."
Rory looks at Jess with a sideways glance, "Oh, I am already drafting the story about the infamous Stars Hollow murder."
Alicia leans in, "Um, Stars Hollow murder? Do tell."
Rory starts by describing how she and Lane find Dean in front of Doose's market, and he explains about the fake-looking body outline that Taylor believes is real and even calls the police to investigate. "Taylor was so convinced it was real because of the police tape, even though the police officer told him that everyone was accounted for and without a body there was no crime, it was just a prank."
Alicia was enjoying the story, "So, who would pull such a prank?"
Rory looks at Jess, who puts his hands up like 'not me,' but then he starts to smirk, and Alicia swats him gently, "Really, you? You were the town's bad boy? Well, now I get the attraction."
Jess pulls back and looks at her quizzically, "You expect me to believe you were a bad girl in high school?"
Laughing, "Oh, heck no, I was a bookworm, and the worst thing I ever did was wear a t-shirt that said only the good die young, living til 100."
Rory leaned into Logan, "huh, she is like me."
Alicia looked at Rory, "so, what other pranks did he play?"
Rory rubs her chin, and Jess looks at her with a pleading, but she nods, "Oh, silly things like taking the school's baseballs and Babette's gnome. He had also read Howl and Oliver Twist and we formed our friendship over talking about books."
Alicia takes Jess' hand, "Yeah, we enjoy discussing books too. How about you, Logan, have you read any Dickens?"
Logan nods, "Definitely read Dickens, must admit probably more nonfiction, lots of John McPhee along with George Plimpton to Ernie Pyle."
Alicia leans forward, "I know Ernie Pyle, but who is George Plimpton?"
Logan responds, "he was a journalist who immersed himself in the story, so instead of watching athletes, he participated, he fought Sugar Ray Robinson, and then he also played quarterback for the Lions. By doing this, he could provide a different perspective. So, while I enjoy fiction, I am definitely a fan of nonfiction. It is actually one of the qualities I admire most about Rory. She was willing to be part of the story and not just watch from the sidelines."
"Ah, thanks, Logan." Rory rubbed his leg with appreciation.
Alicia responds, "Oh, Rory, so I know you are covering the Obama campaign. Are you also writing a book or have anything else?"
Rory leans forward, "I hope to in the future, but right now, the campaign work is keeping me busy. Plus, I have a few other articles I am hoping to put together. Enough about me; we know you like to read; what else?"
Jess starts to talk, but Alicia squeezes his hand and says, "I'm a first-year medical student at Jefferson in Philadelphia. It is kind of funny, but I tried to go shopping for my textbooks before starting classes and wandered into Jess' shop, not realizing that only the bookstore at the medical school would have the books I needed. I saw his book, "The Subsect," and started reading, and I didn't stop until it was almost closing time. One of his partners, John, told me that I might also like the author if I liked the book that much. He was right, I did."
Jess smiled, "we went to dinner that night and talked until 2 in the morning. She is the smartest blonde I ever met and we just clicked."
Rory grinned, "Ah, Jess, I am so happy you found your Elle."
"Ah, thanks, Rory. So, how did you two meet?" Alicia asked.
Talking over each other, "the coffee cart," "outside of Rory's room."
Jess looks at them, "So, which is it?" he also notices that people are listening.
Rory starts, "Well, we first met at the coffee cart, but Logan still doesn't remember it; I guess I just wasn't that memorable."
Logan smirked, "Oh, come on, Rory, you didn't even talk."
Rory poked him, "Oh, but Colin sure did very, very small; he really was an ass."
Logan laughed, "Colin is an acquired taste." Turning to Alicia, "Please don't think too poorly of my friends; they are good guys, and those were the BR days."
Alicia grinned, "BR days?"
Logan responded, "Yeah, before Rory."
"Ah. So, Logan, you said it was in front of Rory's room?" Alicia clearly wanted him to continue.
Jess also chimed in, "Yeah, I am curious too."
Rory gave Jess a look of 'behave' before diving in, "Oh, well, that is the first time we talked. I believe I was putting up the posters for Professor Fleming's wake when the three stooges came looking for Finn's soulmate and intending to put Logan's phone number on my door."
"I stand by the comment that Guinness and blondes, I mean redheads, don't mix," Logan interrupted
"Yeah, yeah, anyway, I didn't have any interest in having Logan's or any of the stooges' phone numbers on my door, and I was pretty firm about the fact that Logan had not been nice to my friend Marty at the coffee cart by talking down to him and treating him as less than." Rory continued.
"Rory made it very clear that she didn't like me despite not knowing me. If I remember correctly, you started angry with me because I wasn't sure about why you would be holding a wake for an old professor."
"Logan, you know very well that I was irritated, not angry, and it had nothing to do with the poster or the fact that you didn't remember being introduced to me the day before but because of how you spoke down to Marty. If I remember correctly, your tone could be compared to that of Judy Dench."
Jess started laughing, "Judy Dench, seriously? Well, Rory, sorry I ever questioned your ability to make fun of him; obviously, I was wrong."
"Yes, Jess, you were, but that was definitely before we started going out. Logan loved. He still loves to debate." Rory looked at Logan with lots of love in her eyes.
Logan leaned forward, "Oh, Jess, the Judy Dench comment was benevolent compared to Butt-Faced Miscreant."
Alicia broke out in a full laugh, "Why on earth would she ever say something like that?"
Rory looked very uncomfortable with that comment and Logan pulled out his society glibness, "Alicia, that is a story for another time and place. Let's just say that Rory Gilmore put in the time, energy, and love to transform me into the man you see today."
Rory put her arm around him, "Oh, my Gilbert Blythe."
"I'm glad she worked her magic on you too." Honor said, putting her hands on Logan's shoulders, "I have heard the meeting story."
"I thought I told you, Hon."
"Nope, no meeting story, but I was there for the first time you ever said girlfriend," Honor's voice had a hint of teasing in it.
Josh approaches Honor and, as she accepts her coat from him, turns to Lorelai, who has stood up, "Thank you for such a lovely dinner. We had a wonderful time, one of the best Thanksgivings I can remember. Hopefully, we can do this again next year.
Looking forward to the wedding." Rubbing her belly, "assuming this little guy cooperates as I am due on the 23rd."
Lorelai accepts her hug, "It was so good to have you. And we definitely hope you can join us in December." She turns and shakes hands with Josh, Mitchum, and Elias, who all express their appreciation for being invited.
Mitchum touches Logan's shoulder, "Logan, a minute, please."
Logan places his napkin on the table, looks at Rory, and stands up to join his father. "Yes?"
"I just wanted to, well, this turned out to be a much better event, what with meeting Morey Dell and everything. So. See you on Saturday?"
"Yes, Rory and I will be there on Saturday."
"Good"
"Oh, and Dad, will Mom be there?"
"It is her house." Mitchum is looking uncomfortable.
"Yeah, I know, but will her spa weekend be over?"
Elias cuts in, "What your father is saying is that he doesn't know, but I can assure you that even if she is there, you will both be able to eat the entire meal."
Logan nods, "ok, well then, see you on Saturday."
Logan watches them walk out the door and feels Rory put her arms around his waist. He turns in her arms and wraps his around her, pulling her in for a hug, "Thanks," he whispers in her ear.
"Always," she murmurs back.
