AN: Another unexpected bonus lmfao. I wanted to add a scene where Dina is reacting to the surprise book Ellie got her (and also reference the book from the game) but couldn't find a good spot so here it is! And then also cause that scene alone would be too short of a ch so I wrote some more (aka, pun shenanigans)
Enjoy~
After feeding and putting a grouchy JJ to sleep, Dina finally read the surprise book Ellie got her when they were in town. Her fiancé was actually in the other room, writing some music and playing the guitar while she was chilling on the couch with her son cuddled up on her chest. She read about half the book by the time Ellie came outside from the creativity room.
"Hey, want a snack?"
Dina marked her spot with her finger before glancing at her fiancé. "Sure, we can finish that ham and cheese we got from my sis."
"Oh heck yeah! We still got crackers right?"
"Should be in the cupboard." Marking her spot with a bookmark, Dina set aside her book before looking down at her baby and smiling. She kissed his forehead a few times before checking up on Ellie. "You know, that book you got me isn't half that bad."
"Yeah?" Ellie poured herself a glass of water before taking a sip. She then pulled out a box of crackers from the cupboard before facing Dina. "Told you you'd love it."
Rolling her eyes softly, Dina couldn't help but chuckle. "This is totally a book about us."
Ellie snorted at that. "How so?"
"Sorority Secrets," she deadpanned before adding, "C'mon, if we didn't drop out of school this is what we would have been."
That made Ellie laugh ironically as she pulled out the cheese and ham from the fridge. "You're kidding me."
"I'm not!" Dina argued back with a playful chortle. "Ignoring the whole sisterhood part… you're totally Helga and I'm Beth."
That proclamation made Ellie scoff. "Excuse you, how the heck am I Helga?"
Dina just shrugged with a wink. "I mean…" she eyed Ellie's legs before noting. "You do have legs for days."
"Oh brother…"
"And I am older than you."
"Only by three months! That doesn't count."
"Oh, but that doesn't change the fact that I know your body better than anyone out there El…" Dina playfully purred before eating up Ellie's body with her eyes. "If it weren't for me, you'd forever be sexually deprived."
Ellie stopped what she was doing and turned to face her fiancé as her jaw dropped. She couldn't believe her ears as she scoffed. "Can you not talk dirty right in front of our baby?"
A playful grin quickly grew on Dina's lips. "Mmh, I beg to differ, he's napping real hard right now."
"Oh brother…"
Smiling happily, Dina patted JJ's bottom a few times before gently moving him. She managed to get him nice and cushioned on the couch before heading over to the kitchen. Once she was next to Ellie, she snatched a piece of cheese off the cutting board.
"Hey! I'm not done yet."
"It's all gonna head down the same place anyways."
"Urgh, you're so annoying."
"And you're no fun."
Rolling her eyes, Ellie started plating their cheese and crackers. "You are soooo not 'big sister' material."
Dina scoffed, "Am too."
"Mm-hmm, sure. Some Beth you are."
Taking that as a challenge, Dina slapped Ellie's ass before pressing up against her. Ellie rammed into the counter as a result and before she could speak, Dina beat her to it.
"And you're not a very cute 'sister' now are you?" She kissed Ellie's neck before groping her more affectionately.
Biting her lip Ellie glanced at JJ, making sure he was still napping, before replying to her taunt. "And you need some water over snacks." She quickly handed Dina her cup of water before adding, "Thirsty much babe?"
Dina pressed her lips in the crevice of Ellie's ear. She glided her hands up her fiancé's thigh before kissing her earlobe. "Thanks." She then obnoxiously kept an arm around Ellie's stomach before reaching over to grab the water. She took a sip while holding eye contact and drank more than half the cup before setting it back down. Her smug look never left and Ellie rolled her eyes again before brushing her off.
"Just eat your cheese and crackers already."
"Oh, I will."
Ellie licked her lips before turning away. Dina was only a distraction and this block of ham was not going to cut itself. By the time the ham was ready and they were snacking in the living room, Dina suddenly let it rip with the cheese puns.
"Hey, this might sound cheesy but I think you're grate." Dina was holding this cute smile and when Ellie didn't react, she gave her another one. "Please brie mine."
Her lips immediately curled into a smile as Ellie shook her head. "Babe, we don't even have brie cheese."
"Aw but you brie long with me."
A soft sigh left her mouth. "Oh my god."
"Won't you say yes? It's really gouda to have you around."
"You totally found these puns somewhere huh? How many cheese puns do you even have?"
There was a sleazy smile on Dina's face. "I can tell you…but only if you admit I'm a great soul swisster."
Ellie lightly scoffed with a contagious grin. "You're not letting that go are you?"
"Cheese wisely babe, depending on your answer I may or may not cut the cheese."
"Alright alright," chuckling at that, Ellie shook her head with a smile before giving in. "I'll be a gouda sport then," Dina quickly smiled back before she added, "You're nacho self today 'cause you stole my job but I'll let it slide since I'm getting feta up with these cheese puns. You are the best 'sister' a gal could have."
"That's what I thought, Beth can't be without her Helga."
Ellie rolled her eyes one last time before putting together a mini cracker sandwich and shoving it in Dina's mouth, shutting her up with cheese.

Yanking out a strand of weed from the soil in their garden, Ellie tossed it aside where a small pile was before wiping away some sweat. She then fanned herself with the collar of her shirt before turning around when her fiancé called out to her.
"El, I made some lemonade, want some?"
"Sure, that'd be great."
Shortly after, Dina came out with a glass of lemonade in one hand and JJ in the other. Once she was within reach, Ellie stood up before accepting the glass.
"Thanks babe, perfect timing. Was just getting thirsty."
Dina smiled before looking at JJ. "A certain someone was getting upset that his Mommy wasn't around to give him attention."
True to her words, JJ was babbling out loud, trying to catch Ellie's attention as he reached out and grabbed the air with his tiny hands.
"Oh? Did you miss me Bubba?" Ellie quickly cooed after she sipped her drink and set it down on a stump off to the side. She then leaned in to kiss his cheek before making a funny face at him. "Bleeeh!"
Her son quickly giggled and reached out to grab his mommy again.
That made Ellie chuckle before kissing him repeatedly. "Sorry Spud, as much as I wanna hold you, my hands are dirty."
"Oh—" Dina exclaimed as she adjusted her hold on JJ. "Someone's getting super strong!" She quickly kissed her son's head before looking at Ellie. "He's putting up a good fight these days."
Ellie laughed at that comment. "That's my boy."
JJ finally came to the realization that Ellie wasn't going to hold him so he got a little upset before kicking around in Dina's arms.
"Alright alright, sorry JJ. How about I make it up to you with a few jokes?"
Dina shot her a look before Ellie continued.
"Why don't farmers make good comedians?" She waited a second before answering her own question. "Because they're too corny."
Her fiancé immediately rolled her eyes lovingly. "Oh brother."
"Did you know why the farmer's cows didn't want to be milked?" JJ had a blank face as he stared at Ellie before she continued, "They were in a bad moo-d."
Ellie laughed at her own joke which made JJ tilt his head before giggling along.
"Geez, where did you get all these farm puns from? The cow farm in Jackson?"
She just shrugged innocently. "Trader's secret Dina but let's be real… you can't trust cows. They make udder-handed comments."
"Okay that's it, we're going JJ. Your mommy refuses to stop once she's on a roll." She turned away and JJ immediately turned his head around to look for Ellie.
"Hey! That's mean, he likes it though!"
Dina covered his ears. "Does not!"
"Does too!"
"Does not!"
"But you never asked me why the cows went to town! To watch a moovie of course!"
She stopped in place before turning to face Ellie. "Banned."
"From what?" Her fiancé shot back.
"From coming inside for the next thirty minutes with those farm puns of yours."
"Aw but you know they were good!"
Dina chose not to respond but Ellie decided to tease her one last time.
"Darn, here I was gonna tell you some juicy gossip about that farmer who had a cow that could milkshake better than anyone else!"
Rolling her lips together, Dina went inside and shut the door without turning back.

"Mmh… this is nice," Dina commented before sticking out her tongue and making some funny faces at JJ when she noticed him staring at her.
Her son was nestled on her chest in a wrap as the small family went on a night stroll to the mountains. They went to the same viewing spot Ellie had proposed to her and were watching the starry night sky on a cozy blanket. Ellie was big spooning Dina from behind as she kept them loosely wrapped up in a big and toasty blanket while Shimmer was chilling off to the side.
Ellie smiled before leaning forward and kissing Dina's neck. She then breathed in her scent before looking up to the night sky. "It is nice."
"We should do this more often," Dina pointed out before adding, "While the night is still warm enough for our baby." She then gave JJ's foot a light squeeze before kissing him repeatedly.
Ellie smiled warmly before agreeing. "Yeah, we should come more often while the sky is still clear. I feel like the stars are brighter out here than from Jackson."
Dina couldn't help but chuckle. "See? I told you a farmhouse is nice. We got clearer skies."
Scoffing at that, Ellie shot her a funny look. "What does that have to do with brighter stars?"
"Obviously everything! It's all about the mood," Dina argued back as if she had it all planned out. "It was my dream for a reason."
Snorting at that, of course, her fiancé saw through her lie. "Oh please."
"I did!" Dina insisted with much oomph. "I'm a genius."
"Mmhmm," Ellie rolled her eyes before looking back at the sky. She then thought of something before snickering and asking, "Why couldn't the star stay focused?"
A huff immediately left Dina's lips. "Ellie…"
She smirked before answering the question for her. "They kept spacing out." And before Dina could cut her off, she asked again, "What do stars say when they apologize to one another?"
Dina barely licked her lips and right when she opened her mouth to respond, Ellie answered for her again.
"I'm starry."
"Ellie," Dina repeated as she turned her head to face her. She smiled prettily and batted her eyes before speaking, "Are you picking a fight?"
"Aww… but babe." She stared in a teasing voice before continuing, "That's not quite right. If you want to pick a fight with me about space, you gotta ask properly. Comet at me."
A small huff left Dina's lips. "Okay, where'd you hide this space pun book?"
"What are you talking about?"
"You already have four pun books El! How many more do you plan on getting?"
Jutting her lips slightly, Ellie looked away innocently before shrugging. "Eh, can someone really have too many pun books though? It's not a crime."
Dina rubbed Ellie's thigh before laughing at her. "For you, the book enforcers would make an exception. You'd be at the top of the wanted list for book bounty hunters."
"Oh really?" Ellie challenged back with a small grin. "In that case, I may be wanted but if you want to stop me, you'll have to beat me in a space talent competition because I am the reigning champ holding the almighty…" She eyed Dina smugly before finishing her sentence. "Constellation prize."
A huge smile flashed on Dina's face as she couldn't believe her ears. Rolling her eyes in disbelief, she shook her head lightly before brushing off Ellie's hand. "Okay, enough puns out of you."
"Aww, but you love them."
"No I don't," Dina argued back with a smile still plastered on her face.
"Then you shouldn't accuse this 'star' of yours for a crime I didn't commit because I can't get arrested." Ellie paused for a second before concluding, "Because I'm no shooting star."
Dina couldn't take it anymore and busted laughing out loud.
Ellie had one of the biggest smiles on her face as well and she nuzzled into her fiancé before adding, "Now, why did the star have a crush on the sun?"
"Mmh? Tell me why El."
"'Cause it was the center of their universe." Ellie gushed before kissing Dina's cheek. "And you… will forever be my burning, hot sun."
The happiest little giggle came out from Dina's lips and she melted in Ellie's arms before she turned around and kissed Ellie's lips. "God, you're such a sappy dork."
"But you dig it."
Dina kissed her lips again and again. "Mmh, I do…"
Ellie pecked her lips this time and their kiss lingered before JJ announced his jealousy with a sharp whine. That made both his moms look down before quickly sharing the love.
"Aw, don't worry bubba, you'll always be my favorite little star!" Ellie pitched before reaching over and waving his hand around.
JJ laughed happily before Dina kissed his head again. "I can't wait until he talks."
"Me too, he'll be the cutest potato around!"
Dina chuckled with a bright smile. "You bet."
