Hi everyone! I'm back with the third chapter! I'm so sorry that it took so long, I've just been busy and suffering writer's block. I'll sadly have to say that this is quite a short and uneventful chapter compared to the previous one. This chapter really shouldn't have taken as long as it did. Oh! Another thing, if you can't seem to access , this story is also available to read on AO3! Alright, let's go.
White sand, night sky, some dead trees here and there. That's all the Simpson family could see, that's what they have been seeing the several months they've been in this world of forever night. Currently, the family, now Arrancar, were in search of Las Noches. It was a city, which was a surprising feature among this realm. For the family, it shouldn't be too hard to find as it would stand out within the deserts of Hueco Mundo. The problem was, they didn't know where exactly Las Noches was. There wasn't much in Hueco Mundo to begin with. The only way they "knew" where to go because of Maggie. She had this skill called Pesquisa where she could sense any level of Spiritual Energy from miles and miles away. Well, technically, the whole family had this technique too, Maggie's was just far superior to theirs. Maggie's Pesquisa was also even powerful enough to tell how powerful someone is! Maggie was currently in search of any sort of Reiatsu that wasn't a Hollow. Maybe even a large population of either Hollow or Arrancar Reiatsu. Las Noches must be populated, it was a city after all.
Over the time they have been searching for Las Noches, they began to learn about their new powers as Arrancar: The aforementioned Pesquisa was one of them. Ironically, despite once being a Hawk Hollow, Lisa had the weakest Pesquisa of the family.
There was Sonìdo which allowed the user to move fast at high speeds, making it look like they were teleporting. Bart was the best at Sonìdo, making him the fastest of the family. Homer, while fast, was still rather slow compared to the family, making him the worst at Sonìdo.
There was Heirro which allowed the user to condense their Spiritual Energy to make their skin/body very durable, capable of blocking powerful attacks. Marge is the best out of the family at this ability, capable of blocking extremely powerful attacks without getting harmed. Her Hierro is greatly enhanced in her Resurrección. Homer, Lisa, and Maggie had tough Hierro themselves, the only one that had no skill in Hierro whatsoever was Bart. While Bart is very powerful offense-wise, his defense was extremely weak or outright terrible, making him the worst at Hierro.
There was Cero and Bala. These two techniques were rather similar to each other. Cero are a powerful blast of concentrated spiritual energy that the user can fire at its enemy. This is the only technique that both Arrancar and Hollows can use. Bala is similar to Cero in which a powerful blast of spiritual energy is fired. What makes Bala different is that it is multiple smaller blasts at a time and are much more faster than a Cero. Normally, Bala is weaker than Cero but with enough Spiritual Energy and training, it can become just as powerful. Homer excels at releasing powerful golden-colored Cero that can incinerate anything it touches, making him the best at it. Lisa was excellent at shooting multiple white-colored Balas at a time that rarely missed a target, making her the best at Bala. Marge could do neither Cero nor Bala, her attack style was completely defensive, making her the worst at both Cero and Bala. Maggie had decent Bala but had very unstable Cero that could lead to getting herself and others injured. This makes her the second worst at Cero behind her mother. Maggie theorizes that her Cero is unstable due to her young body not being able to handle the power of a Cero and that her Bala is better because they're normally weaker than Cero.
Finally, there was their most powerful ability: the aforementioned Resurrección. A Resurrección was the signature skill of an Arrancar as it brought back their Hollow abilities. In many cases, the abilities are more powerful in Resurrección than they ever were when Hollows. The nuclei of this power is sealed into a weapon, most commonly a sword. For the Simpson family however, the sealed forms were items. They weren't sure why they were items, but there must be a reason somehow. For a Resurrección to be activated, there must be a release call: A phrase, and the Resurrección's name. The family was unsure how they knew the names of their Resurreccións but they did. Perhaps it was instinctive. What were the family's Resurreccións? That's a secret for now.
"Are we there yet? I'm so bored!" Bart complained as the family continued to walk. "I don't know! I don't know where Las Noches is, it could be anywhere!" Maggie replied as she continued to use her Pesquisa to find any trace of powerful Reiatsu. The only Reiatsu she was able to find so far was the weak spiritual energy of Hollows roaming around here and there. Since the Simpsons were now Arrancar, they no longer had that primal instinct of eating other Hollows they once had. Because of this, most of the Hollows Maggie sensed or even encountered by the family were completely ignored for the most part.
Bart was not wrong when he mentioned his boredom. The whole family was bored walking across the endless dunes. The only thing that eased the boredom was learning about their powers and attacking unsuspecting Hollows that happened to get in their way. "Find anything peculiar yet?" Lisa asked her sister. "Nope," Maggie replied, shaking her head. Lisa looked at her surroundings before speaking again, "I could always use my Resurrección to fl-" "NO!!" Homer, Marge, Bart, and Maggie all yelled at once. The family didn't mind their Resurreccións, not at all. The problem was that Lisa would release her Resurrección much more than she should so she could fly again. Lisa loved flying. What bothered the family was that releasing a Resurrección includes a powerful burst of Spiritual Energy, which would be a constant thing to deal with when Lisa transformed. So it got annoying. "Alright, alright, fine," Lisa grumbled as she rolled her eyes.
Minutes have passed in complete silence. All being heard was the footsteps in the sand. Like the rest of his family, Homer was scanning his surroundings in search of something peculiar. No such luck, is what Homer would've thought if he didn't see something out of the corner of his eye. He stopped and turned to look where he saw that.. thing out of the corner of his eye. Yes, it was very peculiar. "Hold on a second, I see something," Homer called out, not taking his eyes off what he sees. The family stopped and turned to where the patriarch stood. "What do you see, Homer?" Marge asked as she and the kids walked over to him. Homer did not answer and instead pointed to where he was looking. They looked to where Homer was pointing and they too saw the peculiar shape. "What is that?" Lisa asked, although she didn't expect an answer. Maggie used her Pesquisa. "Hmmm.. it's giving off Spiritual Energy. It seems to be very far away so I can't tell how strong it is," she said. Could it be what they think it is? "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go see what it is!" Bart said and he ran off to the direction of the weird shape, leaving his family in the dust.
It took a while for the family (mainly Homer) to catch up to Bart because he was quite a distance away. He was standing on top of a large sand dune, looking in the direction of the shape. "What the hell, Bart!? You didn't need to leave us like that!" Lisa snapped at her brother as she and the others caught up to the boy. Bart didn't answer and instead looked on wide-eyed. Homer, Marge, Lisa, and Maggie looked to where Bart was looking and they too stared wide-eyed.
In the distance was a bunch of structure like buildings placed near each other like it was a city. In the center was a large dome, which for some reason… felt familiar to the family. They didn't know why, it probably wasn't important. "There's definitely a lot of Spiritual Energy down there," Maggie said. What she said confirmed what the Simpsons family thought of as they continued to look on in awe at the structures. They had found it. They had found Las Noches
Las Noches was much bigger and farther than the family thought. It took a few minutes for the family to get near one of the structures, even Bart! As soon as the family got close to Las Noches, they couldn't believe how huge it was! All of the structures looked like they could go on forever. The family began to look around for quite sometime. It seemed empty, which was strange because Maggie sensed Reiatsu, meaning there must have been someone or something residing in Las Noches. Perhaps they must reside in the giant buildings….
"You must be the Cinco Muertes I've been hearing about," a calm voice said suddenly. The Simpson family stopped and turned around to find the source of the voice. Standing behind them was a tall man that looked nothing like themselves. He had tan skin, brown eyes that weren't bulged out like the family's, and swept-back brown hair. The man was also wearing what looked like a white cloak with black trimmings. The man had a calm expression but the family could notice that his eyes very slightly widened when he saw them. He must've never seen yellow-skinned humans with overbites and four fingers before.
"I'm quite surprised you found yourselves here at my headquarters. It also appears that you've become Arrancar all by yourselves. Very impressive," the man said calmly. The family was confused for a second how this man knew them, but then they remembered what that orange scorpion Hollow, Cadillac, told them. Word spreads quickly around this world. Perhaps that is how this man knew them. However, there was still a question on their minds. "Who are you?" Marge asked. "My name is Sōsuke Aizen," the man replied. The family looked back in surprise. Aizen!? The ruler of Hueco Mundo Aizen!? They were face to face with the powerful ruler of this world!
"I have been looking for powerful comrades. You five are perfect candidates. Would you care to join me?" Aizen asked. The Simpson family looked at each other. Join the ruler of Hueco Mundo in a possible army? Why did he even need comrades in the first place? "What's in it for us?" Bart asked, raising a brow. Aizen's expression did not change as he simply answered "Come with me if you want to find out," It wasn't an answer the Simpsons were hoping for, but they all decided to not press further. The family looked at each other again.
This could be it, this could be their one-way ticket to overthrowing Aizen and becoming the new rulers of Hueco Mundo. Yes, they could secretly pretend to join this "army" and learn more about Aizen and find ways to exploit his weaknesses and eventually be able to overthrow him. It would be less risky than attacking him right now. Sure, it was five against one but who knew how powerful he really was without knowing his weaknesses. The family turned to look back at the man.
"We accept your offer," Homer said. Aizen smiled slightly. "Excellent. Come with me," he said as he turned around and walked away. The family followed the man not far behind, taking their first steps on the long journey to their destiny.
That's it for Chapter 3! Again, I'm so so sorry that this chapter was a nothing burger :( future chapters will be more eventful, I promise. Unfortunately, I must say that it may take quite a while for more chapters to be published because I'm going to be busy and not have a lot of time to write for the next couple of months. Hopefully I can get a chapter out at least once or twice a month. Anyway, that's all for now, see ya later!
