Venom Of The Ninja
When we last left our heroes, Ash had entered Cobalt in the local P1 Grand Prix fighting tournament, where he not only first experienced Mega Evolution, but had gained the title of P1 champion. Now, the group traverses through the woods of the local Fuschia City, where they hope tofind the gym leader in the woods to hve Ash earn his 6th badge.
Though it would go a bit faster if Yami would stop randomly beatboxing as Cobalt made up weird rhymes to go with it…
Cobalt: My name is Cobalt! It rhymes with bank vault! It also rhymes with... rock salt! It also rhymes with… Uh…. shmobalt!
Yami: Dude, we should be writing this down.
Ash: We've been walking for over an hour, where is this famous "Fuschia Gym", anyway?
Misty: Better question, who builds a gym in the middle of nowhere?
Brock: We shouldn't be too far now. The gym has to be around here somewhere.
Though as they kept walking, they were unaware of the pair of compound eyes watching them. After walking a bit more and eliciting a nervous Green to cross over a small ravine over a log…. They still had no idea where to go.
Ash: I thnk we're lost.
Green: You made me cross that stupid log for nothing?!
Ash: It wasn;t for nothing, Green. We have to stay together, after all. Besides, it wouldn't hurt you to bathe every once in a while
Green: I could've fallen and drowned to my death and you're maiing jokes?!
As the pair started to bicker, Cobalt looked over, spotting what seemed to be a giant building not too far from where they were.
Cobalt: *points* Hey, look over there! I see something!
Azula: Is that…. A mansion?
Ash: *to Misty and Brock* Guys, Cobalt says he found something.
Based on the Lucario's directions, they arrived at a large mansion, its look reminiscent of feudal Japanese architecture.
Misty: That's weird. It's a huge mansion in the middle of the forest.
Brock: I didn;t even know old houses like this still existed.
Ash: Well, at least we can go in and ask for directions to the gym.
They enter the house, still unaware of the presence watching them from afar. As Ash opens the door, he sees the house is mostly dark with a but of dust on the furniture.
Ash: Hello?! Anyone home?!
Misty: Hello?!
Brock: The place seems abandoned.
Confused, Green leaned against a wall, causing the wall to suddenly move and causing him to yell out as he fell into a room, much to the shock of the group.
Yami: A secret room!
Green: The hell is this doing here?
Yami: Prop door. It's a revolving entryway that leads to a different room. Alfredo used them in his disappearing acts.
Misty: What kind of place is this?
Brock: I'm not sure, but this isn't your standard mansion.
As Brock went over to help Green up, they became distracted by what seemed to be a giant purple fuzzball with big red insect eyes.
Ash: *takes out Pokedex* What's that?
Pokedex: Venonat, the Insect Pokemon. A Bug and Poison type. Venonat is said to have evolved with a coat of thin, stiff hair that covers its entire body for protection. It possesses large eyes that never fail to spot even minuscule prey.
Venonat: Hello hello.
Ash: Well, this just got interesting.
Suddenly, the Venonat ran by them, into the small hallway before Ash and Cobalt peaked out, seeing the little insect jumping in pace in the separate hall.
Cobalt: Hey, where's the owner of this place!
Venonat: This way, this way!
Ash: I… I think he wants us to follow him.
Brock: Let's go see.
The little bug ran down the hall, eliciting them to go after it. Suddenly, as Cobalt steps on a floor board, he stops as he's electrocuted by something. He falls over, coughing up a bit of smoky.
Cobalt: Shocking….
Yami: *sarcastic* How original….
Ash: *worried* Cobalt, are you alright? What happened?
Cobalt: I don;t know. All I do know is that when I stepped on that board, I got zapped.
Brock: Look there.
In an opening beneath the floorboard, the group saw a largered and white ball with eyes staring right at them while sparking.
Green: The hell is that; a giant Poke Ball mascot?
Pokedex: Voltorb, the Ball Pokemon. An Electric type. Voltorb appears in places where electricity is generated. Trainers use extreme caution as if Voltorb gets too excited, it will self-destruct.
Voltorb: Dude, what the hell's wrong with you?! You stepped on my head!
Green: Him? You were the one playing creeper under the starway, you spherical dimqit!
Voltorb: I was taking a nap!
Green: Beneath the damn floor?!
Ash: Look, Voltorb, we're sorry we woke you up. Could you please tell us where the owner is?
Voltorb: Why would I tell you? You can't understand me.
Ash: Actually, I can. So, would you…
Voltorb: Oh… Sorry. Yeah, he's here. Should be down the hall a bit more, take the first set of stairs then turn right.
Ash: Got it. Thanks.
The group then ascended the stairs as Voltorb instructed, looking around for any sign of the leader.
Misty: Where'd Venonat go?
Brock: *points* There!
Just as Brock said, Venonat was at the end of the hall, running as soon as he found out he had been spotted. Cobalt rushed forth with Ash by his side, only for them to crash into what should'vebeen air and flopped back on their bottoms.
Ash: What the-
The boy puts his hand forward, which seems to press against the air like it's a type of wall.
Ash: What is this?
Yami: Hmm… *taps air* It's some kind of barrier of psychic energy.
Azula: Even though that's a good theory, that's not the case, Yam. It's some kind of invisible glass wall.
Misty: Brock, this plac is giving me the creeps.
Brock: Yeah, we better get out of here.
Ash: You guys are right, we can just get directions in town. Let's get out of here.
They turned around to leave, only for them to walk right into another invisible wall.
Misty: Another one?!
Brock: Is this some kind of Pokemon thief trap?
Green: This place is a madhouse! There's no way out and death seems to stem from any corner! It's hopeless! We're trapped! We're trapped!
The Grovyle sits down and curls to a ball, rocking back and forth as his pupils shrink from paranoia.
Green: Help me, mommy! Help me! I want my blankie! I want my blankie!
Ash: Anyone else have any ideas?
He then turns to the rest of his released Pokemon, who are also curled up and crying like Green was, with Yami sucking his thumb in the air. However, Misty grabs the Gorvyle by the vest and then proceeds to slap him 5 times across the face.
Misty: *as she slaps Green* Get! A! Grip!
Green: *rubs cheek* Thank you, I needed that.
Cobalt: Okay, with us getting our panic out of the way, we gotta get out of here. This place is a total nuthouse.
Ash sighed in relief seeing his team calm down as he leaned against a wall, only for it to collapse outward, causing him to yell out as he almost fell out. Misty and Brock gasped in shock, only for Yami to suddenly grab his hand and yank him back up. Ash got onto his hands and knees, making sure he was safe as he breathed deeply, hugging his Gengar tightly and muttering countless "thank you's", which made Yami smile as he hugged back. However, a door opened, showing the Venonat they had been tailing.
Ash: Venonat!
Venonat: You made it, you made it! Hooray!
Green: Hooray?... *angered* Hooray?! Do you know the horrors we have just endured, you little assface!? COME HERE!
He lunged at the bug type, where it then scampered into the room. Suddenly, Green screamed in fright as a flurry of ninja stars flew right at him. He managed to dodge most of them, but one had struck the tip of his head leaf, leaivng him pinned to the wall, yelling and flailing his limbs as he was suspended in the air.
Ash/Cobalt: Green!
The others rushed into the room, finding Green in his predicament. Suddenly, feminine laughter filled the room as a small form descended form above, landing gracefully onto the floor.
?: Born from darkness, living in darkness… Such is the way of the shinobi….
The shape rose up, revealing it to be a younger girl around Ash's age, her purple hair tied up in a spiked bun and wearing a black and purple gi, with a dark pink scarf wrapped around her neck.
?: I am Janine; ninja warrior.
Misty: Isn;t a pink scarf a bit too flashy for a ninja?
Janine: I don;t need your fashion advice. So tell me… Did you like my star treatment?
Ash: You can't just throw shurikens at people, that's dangerous!
Misty: Not to mention stupid!
Brock glared at the girl before turnign to Ash, helping him get Green down. As he was let down, Green cradled his head leaf, becoming saddened at the hole made from the star.
Cobalt: You okay, bro?
Green: 'M fine… That stupid star wrecked my leaf…
Cobalt: Don't stress it out anymore. Just leave it alone until it heals, okay?
Misty: What's wrong with you?! Who throws deadly weapons at people withut warning?!
Janine: This is a training camp! It's not my fault you let your guard down!
Ash: Let my guard down?! You tried to kill us!
The Venonat came out from behind the girl, making her smile and pet the little insect while Green glared at it.
Janine: This Venonat; my partner, warned me about a stupid looking group entering the mansion.
Brock: You trick us with fake walls, invisible barriers, and almost skewer my friend's Pokemon, and you call us stupid?! You're sick in the head!
Janine: Maybe so, but I'm not letting you leave unless one of you battles me for my training.
Misty: Battle you? Nuh uh, not after what you put us through! *takes out phone* I'm calling the cops!
Suddenly, at the mention of the authorities, Janine became worried, looking at Misty with a look of dread.
Janine: What? Wait, you can't.
Misty: And why is that?
Janine: Because if you do, I'll never let you out. *Misty dials* No, if I go to prison, i'll never be a master ninja!
Misty: Hello, police? We-
?: There is no need for that, ma'am.
Misty looked on as she hung up her phone as another figure approached bua a smoke plume. This one was a tall, aged man wearing a dark blue gi with a red scarf, spiked dark hair with grey streaks along his sideburns, and wrinkles along his face. At the sight of the man, Janine immediately knelt at him, keeping her head down.
?: I am prepared to take responsibility for this girl's actions. They were very… dishonorable. *dissappointed* And as for you, young lady…
Janine: Honored Father, I have failed you. I couldn-
Brock: *shocked* "Father"?
?: Silence, Janine. You do not attack others without a reason. That is not the shinobi way.
Janine: But… They came into our home with no hesitation. They could have wicked intentions.
?: Well, did you even attempt to ASK them of their intentions before attacking them and springing these traps?
Janine: Well…. No. But-
?: But nothing… I am deeply disappointed in you, Janine. *to Ash* I am very sorry about my daughter's actions. We are mostly on high alert since we reside on the outskirts of Fushcia City.
Ash: It's… Okay, I guess. I mean, I can understand why you'd be cautionary. We wre just hoping to get directions to the Fuschia Gym. I need to challenge the leader for my next badge.
?: The Fuschia Gym is what you seek?... *smirks* Well, look no further…
Ash looked in confusion, but only until he got a good look at the man did he recognize where he was.
Ash: You… You mean, you're-
?: Yes, young Kriketot. I am Koga; master ninja and leader of the Fuschia City Gym.
Misty: So… THIS is the gym?
Koga: That would be correct. *to Ash* Tell me, Kriketot. How many badges do you hold now?
Ash: I have 5.
Koga: *surprised* 5? Usually, the challengers I go up against have 4. Interesting.. Very well, as gym leader, I accept your challenge. Usually, the battle is a 2-on-2, but due to your 5th badge, I shall escalate it to 3. *to Brock and Misty* Would it be any trouble for either of you to be the referee for this battle? Our gym's referee is out sick.
Brock: I'll do it. Just get into positions.
Nodding, Koga walked his space as Green and Yami moved over to Misty, allowing Azula and Cobalt to stand by Ash on his side. Janine watched as well, guilt still racking though her system as she realized the gravity of her actions as Brock stepped into the ref space.
Brock: Alright! The battle between gym leader Koga and the challenger Ash will now begin! Each trainer shall only use three Pokemon for the battle and furthermore, only the challenger may substitute their Pokemon! Will both sides let out their Pokemon!
Koga: *throws Pokeball* Venomoth, out from the shadows!
The ball opened, releasing a large purple moth from within. Ash scanned the moth, curious if it had any relation to Janine's partner.
Pokedex: Venomoth, the Toxic Moth Pokemon and the evolved form of Venonat. A Bug and Poison type. The powdery scales on Venomoth's wings are hard to remove from skin. They are important to remove however, as they contain a toxin that can paralyze a human.
Ash: Alright, Poison types. Cobalt, I choose you!
Cobalt nodded, stepping into the ring as Brock raised his hands to signify the battle's start.
Brock: Let the match begin!
Koga: We shall go first. Venomoth, use Poison Powder!
The moth flapped its wings, sending a cloud of powder at Cobalt. The cloud hit the Lucario, but much to Koga's surprise, nothing happened to Cobalt.
Koga: What? But how?
Cobalt: Learn your type matchups, newb. *smirks* Steel's immune to Poison.
Koga: Seems as though your Pokemon has an immunity. But there are more ways than one to skin a Meowth. Venemoth, Stun Spore!
Ash: Cobalt, disperse it with Bone Rush!
As Venemoth unleashed a yellow powder, Cobalt forged a bone staff, tirling it clockwise to disperse the powder.
Ash: Alright, now use Aura Sphere!
Koga: Use Silver Wind!
As the moth struck Cobalt with wind slashes lined with scales, Cobalt hit Venemoth with a point blank Aura Sphere, knocking the bug to the ground.
Ash: Finish it with Metal Claw!
Koga: Sleep Powder, quickly!
Venemoth tried to flap its wing to spread the powder, but it was in vain as Cobalt slashed it with a metallic paw spike, knocking it out.
Brock: Venemoth is unable to battle! The winner is Cobalt!
Ash: Great job, Cobalt!
Green: You're doing great, bro!
Koga: *returns Venemoth* You have done well, my friend. Rest. *takes out Pokeball* This shall be this one's first ever gym battle and I assure you, she will easily impress.
Ash: I look forward to it. What is it? Arbok? Muk?
Koga: *smirks* You shall see. *throws ball* Salazzle, into sight!
Much to Ash's surprise, out of th eball popped a tall feminine looking lizard with a narrow snout, charcoal grey skin, and a purple and hot pink belly. Having never even heard of a Salazzle before, Ash scanned it with his Pokedex.
Pokedex: Salazzle, the Toxic Lizard Pokémon. A Poison and Fire type. Salazzle's poisonous gas contains a type of pheromone that attracts males of its pre-evolved form, Salandit. So far, only female Salandit are known to evolve.
Ash: Only females?
Misty: Talk about girl power.
Koga: Though many ninja are nale, the power of kunoichi is never to be trifled with. And this Pokemon proves it. Salazzle, ignite the shadows with Flamethrower!
The lizard took a breat before hitting Cobalt with a stream of fire, sending him back some and causing supereffective damage.
Ash: Are you okay?
Cobalt: I… I'm fine. It was just one hit, Ash. I can keep going.
Ash: …*nods* Okay then. Cobalt, use Bone Rush!
Koga: Poison Gas!
Ash was confused at this. Why would Koga try to poison Cobalt if he was a Steel type? However, as he thought this, Salazzle had dodged the attack, climbinh onto Cobalt's back and spewing a purple gas into his face. However, he didn't shrug it off like with the Poison Powder. Instead, he had gained the familiar purple blush and gained a sickly posture.
Green: What?!
Misty: But that's impossible! Cobalt's part Steel-type, how is he poisoned?!
Koga: Salzzle's unique ability; Corrosion.
Ash: "Corrosion"?
Koga: It allows any type of Pokemon to be poisoned by Salazzle's atacks… Even those who's types are immune to poison. Now, Fire Lash!
Ash: Cobalt, Force Palm!
Cobalt managed to hit Salazzle with his palm and get her off of him, only to get hurt by the poison in his system and get grazed by the fiery whip Salazzle had used.
Koga: Now, finish with Venoshock!
Salazzle then spat a vile liquid at Cobalt, and since he was overcome by the poison, it hit him dead on. And due to Venoshock doubling in damage towards poisoned targets, Coba;t couldn't handle anymore and fell over, fainted.
Brock: Cobalt is unable to battle! The winner is Salazzle!
As Cobalt groaned in pain, Ash ran over as Green also approached, helping Green get to the side as Misty helped set him down.
Ash: Are you okay?
Cobalt: *groans* Yeah… But that thing… She poisoned me. That shouldn't even be possible.
Ash: Well, Koga did say it had that ability, plus you were at a disadvantage with Salazzle being a Fire type. Just take a rest, okay? We'll win this.
Cobalt nodded as he rested while Ash made his way back to his spot.
Ash: 'Okay, so if it's a Poison and Fire type, the best way to beat it is with Ground type moves. And with Cobalt out of the way…'
Ash felt a tug at his pant leg, looking down to see Azula looking up at him, giving him a determined smile. As he gave her a nod, Ash called out.
Ash: Alright, Azula! I choose you!
The Drizzle put the goggles over her eyes as she crawled forth, taking a battle stance.
Koga: Use Poison Gas!
Ash: Azula, use Whirlpool!
As Salazzle exhled a plume, Azula summoned a small whirlpool and launched it forward, dissipating the gas.
Ash: Great job!
Koga: Impressive. But that alone will not save you. Salazzle, use Fire Lash!
Ash: Dodge, then use Mud Shot!
Azula stepped to the side, evading the whip-like flame before retaliating with a mud blast, dealing much more damage to the Salazzle.
Green: Nice work, Ash! Since Salazzle's a Poison and Fire type, Ground type moves due lots more damage.
Koga: Flamethrower!
Ash: Water Pulse!
Salazzle opened her maw to unleash a blast of fire, only for it to be countered by Azula's blast, causing a thick smoke to encroach the field. However, Azula managed to back up enough to see and speak to Ash.
Azula: Ash. this won't keep her distracted long. She may be frail, but she's fast. We need to think of something quick.
Ash was in deep thought as he saw the smoke starting to clear while Salazzle began crawling swiftly to his Water type.
Ash: Hmm...I wonder...Now Mud Shot!
Koga: Not this time. Salazzle, Venoshock!
The toxic lizrd then let loose a stream of poisonous liquid, but Ash then said something else.
Ash: On your back and spin!
Koga: What?!
Azula: Huh?
Ash: Just trust me!
Nodding to her trainer, Azula did just that as she went on her back and began to spin, shooting mud in all directions, creating a tornado of mud. The mud then clashed with poison, causing it to whiter out.
Salazzle: What the-
That was all Salazzle could get out before she was hit by whips of mud, over and over. No matter what Salazzle did, she always got hit by muddy whips.
Koga: What? What is this?!
Ash: A Counter Shield! The best way to defend while dishing out damage!
Janine: *offended* Hey! You can't do tha-
Koga: *raises hand* No, Janine. This is his strategy. A rather impressive one, I must admit… But it will not save you! Salazzle, defend with Fire Lash!
Salazzle unleashed a firefly whip and used it in a defending matter, hardening the mud as it struck. This gave Koga an idea.
Koga: Fire Lash on the ground!
Salazzle nodded her head and with a mighty roar, slammed the whip onto the ground, creating a hot streak, causing Azula to continue to spin, but the friction and heat causing her pain overtime.
Ash: Oh no….. Azula, stop the shield and use your tail to self-right!
Hearing her trainer, Azula used her tail to grip onto a splintered piece of ground and flip herself over, though she was slightly green and was lurching.
Ash: You alright?
After shaking her head, Azula gave him a nod in confirmation.
Koga: Now then, use Venoshock!
Ash: U-Turn to get in close!
As Salazzle fire another Venoshock, Azula jumped to the wall and ran on the other two walls in a u-shape before leaping towards Salazzle. But before the Venoshock could make contact…
Ash: Now, point blank Whirlpool!
With a smirk, Azula struck Salazzle with the attack, knocking her over and over in the watery vortex. As it ceased, Salazzle was seen on the ground, fainted.
Brock: Salazzle is unable to battle! The winner is Azula!
Koga nodded before returning Salazzle, giving her a silent thanks as Ash hugged his Drizzile in gratitude. However, before he could pull out his last Pokemon…. A sudden crash and explosion of tthe nearby wall distracted them. As the dust settled, Ash looked in annoyance that the battle was interrupted by his least favorit trio.
Jessie: Prepare for trouble!
James: And make it-
James was stopped as Azula annoyingly fired a Water Pulse at his face, making him close his mouth in order to stop himself from drowning.
James: Okay… Okay, I get you don;t like the motto, but that was just uncalled for!
Ash: That was uncalled for?! What do you call this?!
Jessie: Business, of course. And that business involves stealing any powerful Posion types in this gym!
Koga: You are thieves… *angered* You have no honor and as such, you ave no business here! Leave immediately!
Meowth: We're gonna have to go with… No.
James: And if you want to try and force us out we'd like to see you try!
Both he and Jessie threw out a Pokeball each. However, instead of Ekans and Arbok, a big purple cobra with a face mark on its stomach popped out of Jessie's ball and a larger floating ball with 2 separate balls; one of them having another face, popped out of James.
Green: What the hell? Who are these guys?
Ash: *takes out Pokedex* Ekans and Koffing must've evolved.
Pokedex: Arbok, the Cobra Pokemon and the evolved form of Ekans. A Poison type. Arbok uses the face-like pattern on its stomach to intimidate its prey. Once the prey lets its guard down, Arbok constricts itself around it and squeezes until its prey stops breathing.
Pokedex: Weexing, the Poison Gass Pokemon and the evolved form of Koffing. A Poison type. Weezing alternately shrinks and inflates its twin bodies to mix together toxic gases inside. The more the gases are mixed, the more powerful the toxins become.
Koga: *growls* Foolish thieves! *to Ash* Young Ash, please. I request your assistance in this fight.
Ash: Of course. Go, Azula!
Koga: *throws Pokeball* Arbok, go!
Janine: I shall help, as well. Venonat, to battle!
As Azula, Janine's Venonat, and Koga's own Arbok rushed forth. However, James put his hand out as an odd type of thread encompassed the Pokemon, stopping them in their tracks. Knowing Cobalt was probably still weak from the fight, he called out to his Grovyle and Gengar.
Ash: Green! Yami!
Green: *nods, runs forward* I'm on it!
Jessie: Oh no, you don't!
Jessie then put her own hand forth as Green and Yami were encompassed in the same thread as the others and ensnaring them.
Yami: Oh, great. Just great!
Misty: Don;t worry, I'll help yoo. *grabs Pokeball* Go, Staryu!
Suddenly, another beam of light emerged from Misty's bag, releasing Perry into the battle.
Perry: I have been summoned!... Ow, my head.
Misty: No no, wait! I didn;t mean-
James: Sorry, no takebacks!
Brock: Guess you'll have to battle with Perry, Mist.
The girl growled, trying not to unleash her rage on the poor duck as he face flushed with rage.
Misty: What can he even do?
Ash: Let's see here…
Pokedex: This Psyduck is level 27, Male, and has the ability, Cloud Nine. It knows the moves Tail Whip, Scratch, Disable, and Confusion.
Misty: *sighs* If I got to…. Alright, Perry! Use Scratch!
Claws at the ready, the Psyduck ran forth at Jessie's Arbok, ready to scratch it… Only for him to get bitten on the head. This however caused the Psyduck to recoil in pain as the snake let go, clutching his head as if it were going to explode.
Misty: Geez, at first I thought he was annoying. But now, I kind of feel sorry for the guy.
Brock: Poor guy.
Concerned for the duck's safety, Misty rushed over to Perry, holding him to try and calm him down, only for him to go limp. Though Misty was worried, she looked in confusion as Perry's eyes began to fill with an etherial glow and Perry yelled loudly, blue energy rings appeared from Perry's forehead as it hit Team Rocket, immobilizing them.
Jessie: Wha-... What the hell is happening?!
James: Jessie! I can't move!
Meowth: Neither can Meowth!
Suddenly, they yell as they're covered in the same glow as Perry's eyes and levitated skyward, then are slammed into the walls over and over agin.
Misty: What the- What's going on?
Ash: Wait… Didn;t the Pokedex say something about Psyduck using mysterious powers when its headache becomes intense?
Brock: Then that means….
Misty looked at her Pokemon in surprise, before gaining a competent smile and pointing forward.
Misty: Perry, use Confusion!
With one last yell from the duck, the trio are launched through the ceiling, screaming the while way.
James: AAAAAHHH- You know, this place looks a lot nicer from above.
Meowth: Yeah, but you know what else it looks like.
Team Rocket: Team Rocket's blasting off again! *twinkle*
With a strained grunt, Perry used his power to dissolve the thread off of the other Pokemon, allowing Koga to return his Arbok to its Pokeball. The glow faded right then, Perry letting out a strained gasp as he panted, his hands on his knees.
Perry: Oh…. *phew*... Glad that's over.
Misty: And to think you had that power this whole time.
Perry: Yeah, really puts a strain on me. At least my headache's a little better.
Brock: That kind of power must REALLY be a headache to handle…
Koga: Such power… What a magnificent performance.
Janine: I've never seen such power before.
Koja: Young maiden, would you consider trading your Psyduck for my Skrelp?
Janine: I'd gladly give you a Toxel for it.
Misty looked at the pair, before she then turned to Perry, where she then smiled and brought him into a sidehug.
Misty: No thanks. I think Perry's just the right Pokemon for me. I wouldn't trade him for any Pokemon in the world.
Green: What happened to her wanting to get rid of the guy?
Cobalt: The heart of a woman is a very fickle thing, come rank or badge.
Ash: Oh yeah, that's right. We still have to finish our match… *looks around room* But the battle room's ruined.
Janine: No need to worry, we have a training ground in the back just for moments like this.

Behind the house, we see Ash and Koga on opposite sides of an outdoor battlefield, with Brock once again being referee and Janine, Misty, Cobalt, and Green watching once more.
Brock: With that out of the way, let's continue the battle! Gym leader Koga's down to his last Pokeon while Ash has 2 left. Let's see what they pick.
Ash: My last Pokemon…. Is this one! *throws Pokeball* Psi, I choose you!
The ball opens, revealing Ash's Alakazam, much to Koga's surprise.
Koga: I see, so you had both Ground and Psychic opportunities. Good to see a challenger who is prepared. Now for my last Pokemon…. *pulls out Pokeball* This one monster has stood by me through my training. The one who had raised to master as I achieved the title. Come now my brother in arms, Crobat!
The ball opened, revealing a giant purl bat with an intense glare and four wings flapping silently. Ash stood in surprise, thinking the bat looked familiar as he pulled out his Pokedex.
Ash: Is that the…?
Pokedex: Crobat, the Bat Pokemon and the final evolved form of Zubat. A Poison and Flying type. Crobat expertly maneuvers its four wings to dart in exquisite fashion through even the most confined caves without losing any speed. It is so precise, it can even bite down on the nape of its prey's neck and drink their blood without the prey even knowing.
Ash: THAT'S what Zubat turns into?... Man, Brock really lucked out.
Koga: I assume so. Let us see who is superior, advantage of type or advantage of experience. Crobat, Aerial Ace!
The bat seemingly disappeared, making Psi look around in confusion before they yell after something hit them in the back of the head. Looking up, they see Crobat flying above them.
Psi: It is fast, it can seemingly make itself invisible.
Ash: Well, we'll have to try and overwhelm it.
Koga: Now use Cross Poison!
Ash: Psi, use Thunderbolt, then Protect!
Psi quickly blasted a Thunderbolt at the Crobat, who managed to steer out of the way, but not before the side of the bolt hit Crobat's back left wing. As Crobat crossed its purple glowing front wings, Psi created a forcefield that absorbed the attack.
Koga: Your defenses will fall, as shall your Alakazam, young one! Crobat, Screech!
The bat quickly unleashed a horrible sounding screech, making Psi cringe and cover their ears while making their already low defense even lower. Seeing Psi in a bind, Ash remembered the belt around Psi's waist and his glove, gaining an idea.
Ash: Psi, I know how to get the advantage, but-
Psi: I know, Ash… *nods* And it is okay. I can handle it.
Ash's friends realized what was about to happen, though Janine stared at them in confusion of their sudden excitement as Ash smiled and tapped the Key Stone on his glove, the stone shining brightly as Psi's Alakazite followed suit.
Koga: What is this?
Ash: Psi! Mega Evolve!
The stone on the Alakazam's glowed brighter as Psi gave out a yell while glowing as well, their body shifting and growing as the light subsided to reveal their new mustache had grown longer and white as they also sported a matching beard. Their brown plating became shorter and pink, revealing Psi's thin stomach as they gained more points on their head, a red gem on their forehead, and they now wielded 5 spoons as their feet became skinny and clasped together, relying on telekinesis to keep afloat.
Koga: Well, this is… Highly unprecedented.
Psi: I can see everything. The single atom of evry cell of every lifeform of every planet. My mind has unlocked its floodgates and this very knowledge is the information I now wield!
Ash became concerned at Psi's attitude, but shrugged it off as Psi turned back, smiling to show they were still the same as Ash scanned him in his Mega state.
Pokedex: Mega Alakazam, a result of Alakazam being exposed to a sample of Alakazite. A Psychic type. As a result of Mega Evolution, its power has been entirely converted into psychic energy, and it has lost all strength in its muscles. A glance at someone gives Alakazam knowledge of the course of that person's life, from birth to death.
Koga: You may be more powerful in the means of Psychics, but we are powerful in the dominion of the shadows! Crobat, use Leech Life!
Ash: Use Psychic!
Psi raised their arms up as their spoons began to glow before they pointed their palms forward while Crobat lunged at Psi, ready to bite before Crobat was struck by a purple-pink beam from one of the spoons, knocking it out of the sky. More spoons came as Crobat flew more and more to dodge them, panting heavily as their back wing sparked.
Koga: Now, Crobat, use Cross Poison!
However, Crobat didn;t move as it flew in place, kept still and strained as small sparks ran over its body.
Koga: What?... Why won;t you attack?
Janine: Back when the Alakazam used Thunderbolt… Crobat didn;t dodge completely, but it was just enough to paralyze it.
Ash: Alright, Psi, end it quick with Thunderbolt!
Psi's spoons quickly darted to Crobat, quickly surrounding it at all sides before each one unleashing a mighty Thunderbolt. Due to the bat being paralyzed and unable to escape the super effective hit, Crobat hit the ground with a thud and fainted.
Brock: Crobat is unable to battle! The winner is Psi! And as such, the match goes to Ash Ketchum!
Psi sighed in relief as they shifted back to normal, right before they were trapped in a celebratory embrace by their trainer and party mates.
Cobalt: Psi, you were the GOAT just now!
Green: That was awesome, dude!
Yami: Got that right!
Ash: Thanks a lot, Psi. You were incredible.
Psi: I….. Thank you, Ash.
Koga returned his oldest friend to its ball, giving Crobat a thank you before approaching Ash with Janine by his side.
Koga: You have beaten me with not just strength, but honor as well, young Kricketot. You have done well.
Janine: I see now you truly aren't a fool. *looks down* I was the fool for underestimating you.
Koga: *raises eyebrow* And….?
Janine: And….. I'm sorry for subjecting you and your friends to those traps.
Her apology seemed genuine enough, so Ash simply nodded as a sign of forgiveness as Koga handed him a heart shaped badge resembling a cherry blossom petal.
Koga: Take this Soul Badge as proof of your victory against the Fuschia Gym.
Ash: *takes badge* Thank you, Sir.
However, being the young boy he is, Ash couldn't exactly hold all of that excitement in as he jumped for joy, hugging his Pokemon out of joy. Only two more badges awaited his retrieval and then, the Pokemon League. As they left the manor after getting directions to the next town, the other Pokemon questioned Psi on their Mega Evolution.
Cobalt: So, Mega Evoltion to me felt like there was some raging energy that just needed to be let out. But then… Bliss. What about you, Psi?
Psi: It was… Euphoric. But I cannot help but tell you this. While I was in that state, something worried me.
Ash: Worried you? What worried you, the battle?
Green: Naw, I'm sure they had it covered. Right, Psi?
Psi: Admittedly, I was nervous that the Crobat knew Leech Life, but… while I was in that state, I said I knew all… That was… semu-true. During the battle, I was distracted by another presence. A psychic one at that.
Yami: Psychic? Do you think anyone from that school was nearby?
Psi: No, this signature was from no human. In fact, I am not even sure it was from a Pokemon. It seemed…. Angry. All I could feel from that presence in the back of my mind was… unending hate.
Ash: Um…. Maybe I shouldn't Mega Evolve you guys for a while.
Psi: It was not JUST the Mega Evolution, Ash. Something is out there. Something with unending vendetta for… I do not even know what…
The scene then transitions to a building that was set on an island in the middle. Darkness is illuminated as a figure opens a door and walks inside, showing off screens and flashing buttons all over the walls.
Psi: *voice-over* For whomever were to be in the path of such a being, much less try to control it…. I pity them….
The figure then stops in front of a giant glass tube full of liquid, where they put a hand on the glass to reveal what seems to be a tall Pokemon covered in cybernetic armor and a black visor over its face.
?: *sinister* It's perfect…. My ultimate weapon…..
And at those words, behind the black visor, lights gleam on it as the Pokemon opens its eyes.
?: I can tell you will become very special to me….. Mewtwo…..
