The Next Eevee-Lution
After leaving House Imitay and Green evolving into a Sceptile, our heroes continued on their journey to find Cinnibar Island, where they hope Ash will be able to get his 7th gym badge. However, Ash stopped in his tracks as he heard a voice from far off.
?: Hello?
Brock: Ash, what is it?
Ash: Don;t you hear that?
Misty: ….Hear what?
?: Hello?
Ash: That! It's like someone calling out to us.
Brock: I don;t hear anything.
Cobalt: Actually, I hear it.
Green: Yeah, me too.
Ash: Cobalt and Green say they hear it too. Maybe it's a Pokemon?
Misty: Maybe. *to Cobalt and Green* Alright, guys, Lead the way.
Nodding, the Lucario and Scpetile followed the constant cries, which actually grew louder for Misty and Brock as they approached. As the cries grew louder, they stumbled upon a little Eevee with a collar around its neck attached to a leash that was tied to a tree. It resided in a hole within a tree, with two bowls next to it.
Eevee: Help…
Misty: *gasps* You poor thing.
Misty immediately released the Eevee from its leash, picking it up as Ash came up to her.
Ash: What happened to you?
Eevee: My trainer took me here on a walk and said he had to go to the bathroom. He hasn;t come back yet… Can you help me? I wanna go home.
Brock: *after Ash translates* You guys don't think he's been abandoned, do you?
Cobalt: I hope not.
Misty: There's an address on the tag. "314 Ore Avenue, Stone Town". *abbrasaive* I think we should have a talk with this "trainer".
As the others agreed, they made their way to the nearby Stone Town, famous for the biggest deposit of evolution stones in Kanto. On the way to the address, Ash decided to scan the Eevee with his Pokedex.
Pokedex: Eevee, the Evolution Pokémon. A Normal type. Because of its unstable DNA, Eevee has the ability and potential to evolve into 8 different evolutions based on its surroundings.
Green: 8 different evolutions? Holy crap!
Cobalt: How can you decide between 8 different forms to stay as forever?
Ash: That's the curse of an Eevee, I guess.
Brock: Hey, guys. I found it. "314 Ore Avenue".
The 5 looked up in amazement at the sight of a giant house wth blue roofs and high fences in front of them. As they entered the property, they were surprised to see that on the lawn, there were a lot of people, possibly most of the town since it was an enclosed area. Along with that, there was a fountain, along with multiple tables with wide spreads of food.
Brock: Looks like a garden party.
Green: Not much of a party if everyone's standing around like this. Guess you could say the fum has… wilted. *chuckles* Plant zinger.
Off to the side, a boy with spiky yellow hair with a dog-like Pokemon with spiked yellow fiur stood by him as he touched a blue stone to a Poliwhirl, causing it to glow and evolve into Poliwrath.
Boy: Congratulations, your Poliwhirl is now a Poliwrath.
Girl: Thank you so much.
Ash: Look at all the Pokemon here. They're all Pokemon that use stones to evolve.
Misty: Outstanding.
The yellow haired boy stood by with his Pokemon as he was joined by two others; a blue haired boy with a small mohawk and a fish-mammel hybrid Pokemon with him and a red haired boy with a cowlick and a red fox Pokemon with him.
Yellow: Good work, team. Now that we've seen a round of stone evolutions, how about we try comparing attacks, eh?
The boy looked over to the gang, his eyes widening as he spotted the Eevee in Misty's arms.
Yellow: Token?
Eevee: *happy* Sparky!
Blue: The way it's excited to see you, yeah that's Token alright!
The three boys approached Ash, Misty, and Brock, the blue haired boy taking Token from Misty.
Blue: Where'd you go off too? We've been looking everywhere for you.
Yellow: Thanks a ton for finding Token.
Red: Now that we have our star, we can get on with the show,
Ash: "Star"? Aren't you guys Eevee- I mean, Token's trainer…..s?
Yellow: No, he belongs to our brother, Mikey. Say… Haven't seen your faces around here before. You guys new to town?
Ash: Yeah, actually. I'm Ash, *motions to others* and this is Brock, Misty, and these two are my partners Cobalt and Green.
Yellow: Pleasure, I'm Sparky. *motions to Blue* These are my brothers, Rainer *motions to Red* and Pyro.
Rainer: Hey.
Pyro: Sup? *to crowd* Mikey! Hey, Mikey! Come here, Token's come back!
From the crowd, a young brown haired boy approached. However, instead of looking happy at the return of his Eevee, he instead looked despondent.
Mikey: Oh…
Token: Mikey!
The Eevee jumped out of Rainer's arms and ran into Mikey's, nuzzling his face and saying his name over and over out of joy.
Sparky: You gotta be more careful, bud. Token could've gotten hurt out there.
Misty: Did… Did Token really get lost? But he was tied to a tree.
Mikey: …..Why did you bring him back?
The group was surprised at the question, but instead of looking annoyed at Token, Cobalt noticed that Mikey looked sad at Token, like he was going to lose his partner forever.
Sparky: Listen Mikey, when you get older, you're gona be able to become a Pokemon trainer like us.
Rainer: do you really think you can win your first battle with an unevovled Eevee?
Pyro: All of us won ourr first battles aftr our Eevees 's no other way to win, evolution's the only way.
Mikey: But… I don;t even care about battles.
Rainer/Sparky/Pyro: DONT CARE?!
Pokemon: BLASPHEMY!
Green: These guys are loons. We handled our first battles just fine. Cobalt, you and I decimated Brock and Misty as a Treecko and Riolu.
Cobalt: Yeah, but the only way I beat Surge's Raichu was by evolving into Lucario and Psi beat Sabrina's Kadabra by evolving to Alakazam…. Somehow.
Rainer: Everyone's waiting to see what you evolve Token into, Mike.
Sparky: You have three top choices, which'll it be?
Brock: What even are those guys next to you?
Rainer: Glad you asked. With the help of a Water Stone, I turned my partner Showers into a Vaporeon!
Showers struck a pose as Ash scanned the mammalian fish dog.
Pokedex: Vaporeon, the Bubble Jet Pokemon and one of the evolved forms of Eevee. A Water type. The cells of its body resemble water molecules, so it can hide itself in the water as if it had melted into it. If Vaporeons head fins tremble, it's a sign of incoming rain.
Sparky: And with the help of a Thunder Stone, I had my best pal Thunders become an incredible Jolteon!
Pokedex: Jolteon, the Lightning Pokemon and one of the evolved forms of Eevee. An Electric type. When angered or frightened, the hairs on Jolteon's body become like needles that are fired at its opponents. It absorbs charged atoms and can produce 10,000 volts of electricity.
Pyro: And finally, with the searing ight of a Fire Stone, my soulmate Booster becomes the one and only Flareon!
Pokedex: Flareon, the Flame Pokemon and one of the evolved forms of Eevee. A Fire type. It stores some of the air it breathes in its internal flame sac, which heats its body to over 3,000 degrees.
Pyro: See, obviously Flareon is the best.
Sparky: Are you kidding?! Obviously, he should go with Jolteon, it's obviously the strongest!
Pyro: Too bad you're the only one that thinks so.
Rainer: Don;t listen to them, Mikey. I'm sure you'll make the right choice and choose Vaporeon.
Green: Poor little guy. It's a lot of pressure to put on someone so young.
Thunders: I know they seem tough, but they just want what's best for Mikey.
Booster: Like how we want what's best for Token.
Showers: He's our brother too, after all.
Cobalt: No, being tough means grounding someone when they decide to join the mob in a way to get attention. This is just pure blackmailing.
Sparky: Oh, you wanna know blackmailing? My ex-girlfriend blackmailed me with my personal hard drive unless we got back together. *mutters* Crazy broad…
Ash: Just lay off of him. He;s still young, you-
He stopped speaking as he and his friends stared at Sparky, eyes wide in shock.
Ash: …How did you knwo Cobalt was talking about blackmail?
Sparky: He said it right in front of me.
Rainer: You can understand Pokemon, too?
Misty: Just Ash. Brock and I can't. Can you guys or is it just Sparky?
Pyro: No, we all can. Everyone on our dad's side can talk to Pokemon.
Sparky: If you're worried about being exposed, don;t worry about it. The whole town knows we can and they're fine with it. It's a pretty closed off community.
Ash smiled at this slightly. A whole town that was accepting of Speakers, just like him. It wou;d've been a dream come true if not for the current predicament at hand.
Green: Well, now that I know you can hear us, if you guys are so into trying to get Mikey to evolve Token, why not try using a different evolved form like Leafeon or Espeon?
Sparky: None of them would fit in… Well, Glaceon might, but I feel like each one of them is judging me with those looks.
Rainer: Well, there is one non-Kanto Eeveelution that's here, but….
He motions over to the shadows, where a black fox-like Pokemon seems to be staring off into space, its ears, tail, and legs are lined with blue rings and it had glowing gold eyes.
Ash: *surprised, scans Pokemon* Is that a….
Pokedex: Umbreon, the Moonlight Pokémon and one of the evolved forms of Eevee. A Dark type. The rings of Umbreon's body glow faintly when exposed to the moon's aura. As a nocturnal Pokémon, Umbreon's large eyes can distinguish prey even during the darkest of nights.
Looking at the picture on the Pokedex, Brock noticed that the Umbreon on the screen has yellow rings and red eyes, while this one had blue rings and gold eyes. Seeing this, Brock could only come up with one conclusion.
Brock: That Umbreon's shiny?!
Sparky: Yeah, this gray Eevee showed up a year or two ago and just never left. One night, we found him glowing and he evolved into that. We call him Blacky.
Ash: I've never seen an Umbreon before. Pretty cool… Is he okay?
Thunders: Oh yeah, he gets like this sometimes. *waves paw in front of Blacky* Blacky… Hey. Hey, Blacky.
The Umbreon snorted as he jolted, almost as if he were asleep and someone poured ice water all over him.
Blacky: Wha- Where am i?! Who are you people?! MAZEL TOV!
Pyro: Hey, hey buddy, remember. Remember the talks you and Rainer had, okay? Nobody is after you.
Blacky: *calming down* Right…. No one… wants to kill me….. I… I'm fine… *nevously laughs*
Misty: What's wrong with him?
Rainer: Right before his evolution, Blacky stared at the moon and stayed up all night for 3 straight days and when he finally evolved, it kinda messed with his head.
Cobalt: Why did you stare at the moon?
Black: For it is what created me. I am from the moon so argile, I shall worship what I cometh.
Green: And why is he talking like that?
Booster: Don;t worry about it, we don;t know either.
Blacky: Do you not spendeth hours adgering upon the rocky cliffsides of where youe clan are insteincively told to go, dear Lucario? Or Sceptile, admiring the lush forests that giveth thou thy identity.
Cobalt: Uh….. No. No I don;t.
Blacky: Why ever not?
Green: Because that's pretty Arceus-damn weird.
Despite this, Sparky had invited the group to stay a little for the party, though they had no Pokemon that evolved from stones, which was the purpose of the party in order to inspire Mikey what form to evolve Token into. As Cobalt hung with Misty by the fountain, who had let out Harold, Loki, and Jeff to splash in the water, Cobalt noticed Mikey sitting on a bench and holding onto Token.
Sensing the boy seemed lonesome, Cobalt got up fromnhis spot and went around the food tables, picking up a variety of food before sitting next to Mikey, gaining his attention as he offered the boy a sandwich.
Cobalt: Hungry?
The boy smiled and nodded as he took a sandwich and at it while Token nibbled on a few of the steak bites.
Cobalt: Good stuff… You can understand me like your brothers, right?
Mikey: Mm-hmm.
Cobalt: Good… Seeing it now, I don't think you want Token to evolve, do you?
Mikey: *saddned* My brothers only care about battling Pokemon.
Cobalt: And what about you? Why was Token tied up in the woods?
Mikey: I didn;t want to abandon him. I was just trying to hide Token just for today, so that way my brothers couldn't make me evolve him at the party.
Cobalt: But, Token looked really lonely at that tree.
Mikey: I was going to go get him after the party and tell my brothers I found him in the woods. *to Token* I'm sorry, Token.
The Eevee nuzzled up to his trainer, obviously showing his forgiveness as Mikey petted his head.
Mikey: The truth is I don;t care if Token evolves, all I want is for him to be my friend.
Cobalt: That's great, Mikey. And in all honsty, I was like you. You see, this one Treecko I played with back home evolved into a Grovyle and became a bit of a jerk. And thinking my brother Green would end up like this, I literally BEGGED him to never evolve.
Mikey: What happened to Green?
Cobalt motioned to his Sceptile brother, who seemed to be having a nice chat with Pyro.
Cobalt: He evolved into Sceptile just the other day. Our parents sat us down and told us that evolution isn't just gaining power or changing how we think, it's about how we mature and grow. Though Green wanted to evolve, he said if I didn;t want to, he wouldn't stop me and he swore that he'd never act like that one guy when he evolved and so… He didn't act like him, he was just the same.
Mikey: Wow.
Cobalt: Listen, the point is, choosing whether to evolve or not shouldn't be about battling or sibling conflict, it should be about knowing when you're ready to grow up. But you made one flaw.
Mikey: What's that?
Cobalt: Hiding Token, it wouldn't solve anything, you were just running from your problem. If you don;t want Token to evolve, just tell your brothers just that. It's your responsibility as a trainer, but *shrugs* I'm not your dad or anything.
Token: Mikey?
Mikey: Hm?
Token: If you don;t want me to evolve… *smiles* I don't wanna evolve either.
The boy smiled, hugging Token before his brothers approached, their partners along with Ash, Green, and Brock.
Sparky: Mikey! Have you decided on Token's evolution yet?
Mikey: *nervous* Uh… I… Uh…
Cobalt: Go on, Mike. Tell them.
Sparky: Jolteon, right?
Pyro: It's gotta be Flareon, right?
Rainer: Vaporeon?
Mikey: You guys…. I-
Showers: GET DOWN!
Suddenly, the Vaporeon tackles Mikey to the ground as gunshots were heard while pellets rained down from above. The party patrons screa,ed and took cover as Misty tried to shield her Pokemon while Green covered Ash. However, the boy broke out of the Sceptie's grasp as he tackles the panicking Blacky down, coveirng him with his body to protect him.
Ash: It's gonna be okay, Blacky! Everything will be just fine, just stay here!
The Umbreon looked up to the boy, where he actually started to relax before the shots stopped. Ash looked to the ground to see that the "bullets" were just harmless fire poppers and in the sky, he frowned at the sight of a familiar balloon.
Jessie: Sorry, folks! Party's over!
Pyro: Who invited you?!
Jessie: To protect the-
Ash: HOW?!... Seriously! Just… How are you everywhere we go?! What is this, a TV show?!
James: Well technically, it's a-
Jessie: No time, James!
James: Alright, fine. Weezing, Smokescreen!
James's Weezing suddenly appeared, covering the area in smoke, causing the party's occupants to cough harshly.
Sparky: I- *coughs* I can't see!
Brock: *throws Pokeball* Nightwing, use Gust!
The Pokeball opened to reveal the Zubat, who blew the smoke away with its wings. As the smoke blew over, everyone noticed several Pokemon were missing.
Sparky: Hey, Thunders is gone!
Rainer: So is Showers!
Pyro: Booster, too!
Misty: Loki, Harold, and Jeff are gone!
Mikey: Where's Token?
Brock: And look, not only did they steal the stones, they stole the party food! Even the good dip!
Green: Those monsters! Wait, look up there!
Ash looked up, seeing the balloon floating away. Seeing this, Ash frowned and pointed up.
Ash: Green, hit the balloon with Dragon Rush!
The Sceptile leapt and crossed his arms, blue energy surrounding him as it morphed into a dragon and struck the balloon, sending it to the ground. Green smirked as he landed and checked the basket, only to be confused to see that-
Green: It's empty!
Misty: Great, all of our Pokemon are gone and they tricked us. How could this get worse?
Ash: Guys?...
Misty, Brock, and Green turned to Ash, who grew a deathly pale as he looked around, almost to the brink of a heart attack as he muttered one question that made Green's heart sink.
Ash: Where's Cobalt?

Meanwhile, Jessie, James, and Meowth are seen driving a car down a dirt path, along with all of the Pokemon they stole from the party, Cobalt and Misty's Pokemon included, trapped in a cage hooked to a trailer as Jeff was kept in a birdcage on the chge's back.
Jessie: *laughs* What a cakewalk!
James: That was easier than taking candy from a baby.
Meowth: Not to mention cold cuts and Pokemon too!
Jessie: We've really outdone ourselves here.
Cobalt: *sighs* What do we do? We can't go anywhere with us stuck in this cage.
Loki: Well, we better think of something quick. This is worse than being in a damn Pokeball.
Cobalt: Hmm… I think I got something. *to Jeff* Jeff, can you spit some ink on the floor in several spurts?
Jeff: Uh, sure? But wh…. Oh! Oh, I got you.
The Horsea then began spitting ink out of his snout in small sports, creating one slick after another as they trailed along.
Thunders: Oh, I get it. Breadcrumb trail.
Loki: So that way when the others start the search, they'll be able to track us, of course!
James: Hey! Quiet back there!
Luckily, James didn;t pay attention to what they were saying as he turned back around. Noticing this and remembering when they were on the raft after the sinking of the St. Anne, Cobalt smirked as he gained an idea. He pushed past the other Pokemon in the cage until he was against the end facing the rockets's backs as he leaned as close to James as possible.
Cobalt: You know, I'm kinda glad you guys can;t understand me. The things we say behind you humans's backs, it really gets dirty. Especially about stupid thieves like you. So, at least you can't hear me… Or maybe you can? You remember the raft, right Jim? I called you a "Blue-haired Himbo", and you responded like you heard me. But you can;t hear Pokemon… Right?.. Mind proving it to me?
James said nothing as he focused ahead, trying to flush out the Lucario's voice all the while Cobalt held a shit-eating grin.
Cobalt: Okay~, you asked for it. *deep breath* 🎵This is the song that doesn't end. Yes, it goes on and on, my friends. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was and they′ll continue singing it forever just because-🎵 Come on, everyone! Join in!
Getting the idea, the other Pokemon besides Jeff also started singing along with Cobalt. Though all Jessie heard were the cries and smirked, thinking they were sobbing out of misery, Meowth covered his ears as he tried hiding under the seat cushion. Though as eh tried to remain stoic, James closed his eyes and covered his ears, trying to drown out the song. Once the car stopped, Jessie and Meowth went off to unpack the food for a pseudo picnic as Jessie carried a small cage containing Token. After making sure they were far away enough, James growled as he grabbed Cobalt's handkerchief and reeled him close to the bars enough to be directly in his face.
James: *angered* Do you ever shut up with that stupid song?
Cobalt: AHA! I knew it, I knew you could understand!
James: *defeated sigh* Yes, you caught me. I'm a Speaker, I always have been. Happy?
Cobalt: How long?
James: I've always been able to, I thought everyone could. And now… I even think your trainer can as well, seeing how strong of a connection you both have.
Cobalt: *threatening* If you hurt him, I swear, I'll-
James: Relax, I won;t do anything. He doesn't know and neither does Jessie and Meowth. And I think you'd rather keep it that way. Now, if you excuse me, I have a picnic to attend.
The blue haired man walked off to his co-workers to eat, leaving Cobalt to sigh and cross his arms as he leaned against the cage's wall. Eventually, after they had eaten, the three had gotten into an argument over what "intimidating" form they wanted to evolve Token into; with Jessie wanting it to be Espeon, Meowth wanting GLaceon, and James (for some reason) choosing Sylveon.
Jessie: What's wrong with you idiots, Espeon is more villainous! It has psychic power!
Meowth: Glaceon's the best, its Ice Beam makes it unstoppable!
James: I say we stick to Sylveon!
Jessie: …Why?
James: Have you seen those tendrils? They're horrifying.
Token: Um, actually… I-
Meowth: Shut it!
Showers: Wow… Is this how we look when our trainers argue over what Token should evolve to?
Booster: It's honestly kind of pathetic.
Jessie: Alright, time out! I have an idea. We take a Thunder Stone, Water Stone, and Fire Stone… And use them on the Eevee at the same time!
Cobalt: *overhears* Wait, what?!
Jessie: That way, it'll be 3 times more evil and powerful.
James: Alright.
Meowth: Sounds like a plan.
Cobalt: Wait, you can;t do that! There's no telling what could happen if you use more than 1 stone!
Loki: And it looks like we won;t have too.
Ash: *off-screen* Aiden, use Flamethrower!
Suddenly, the three rockets were pelted by a massive flame, sending them back with their forms charred. Cobalt looked over, smiling as he saw Ash, Green, Aiden, and the others running up to them. Green used Leaf Blade one the cage door, freeing them as Cobalt let Jeff out of his bird cage, eliciting Misty to pick him and Harold up while Ash hugged Cobalt close.
James: How did you twerps find us so fast?
Misty: Well, you see, Jeff sprayed a trail of ink to lead us the way.
Jeff: It was Cobalt's idea. Guess it pays to actually PAY ATTENTION to a conversation, huh?
Meowth: You little squirt!
Jessie: *picks up cage* Forget it! Well just have to settle for cute little Eevee here.
Mikey: Token!
Misty: Forget it, you old hag. We won;t let you.
Jessie: …What?
James: *horrified* Uh oh.
Jessie: What did you call me?...
Meowth: You fools, you killed us all!
Wobbuffet: *pops out* That's righ- Oh… *walks off quickly* Oh no, I'm outta here.
Jessie: *growls* THAT'S IT! You want a battle, I'll give you btoh a battle! James!
James: *nervous* R-R-Right away….. Please don;t hurt me.
Jessie: And lucky for you twerps, you get to be the first ones to meet Team Rokcet's newest soldiers!
Brock: Newest soldiers?
Both Rocket members threw a PokeBall each, releasing what seemed to be two new Pokemon. Jessie's ball released a small red dragonfly with blue legs, four wings, and gren membrane over its eyes while James's released a floating blue squid with a pink head that sported several glowing spots. Seeing that these two were obviously not from the Kanto region, Ash quickly scanned them.
Pokedex: Yanma, the Clear Wing Pokemon. A Bug and Flying type. Yanma is capable of beating its wings at a high rate of speed, generating a powerful shockwave strong enough to shatter glass. Its eyes can see a full 360 degrees around without moving its head.
Pokedex: Inkay, the Revolving Pokemon. A Dark and Psychic type. Inkay spins while making its luminescent spots flash. These spots allow it to lure prey closer and communicate with others by using different patterns of light.
Brock: Guess you managed to fleece some Pokemon from innocent trainers?
Jessie: Oh, don;t think so low of us, we caught these fair and square….. After Yanma decided my head would make a nice bed…
Ash: Uh-huh. *to James* And what about you?
James: He stole my sandwich.
Ash: …..Right. Okay, Green, Aiden, can you guys handle this?
Green: You know it.
Aiden: Of course.
Sparky: We'll help too! That's our brother's Eevee, after all. Right, guys?
Rainer: Right.
Pyro: Of course.
Jessie: Alright Yanma, show those puny punks who's boss with Sonic Boom!
The Yanma vibrated its wings rapidly, causing several air waves to be fired off at the Charmeleon and Jolteon.
Sparky: Thunders, keep away and use Pin Missile!
Ash: Aiden, use Fire Spin!
Aiden: Actually… I have a better idea!
Thunders sharpened his spikes and fired upon the Yanma, only for Aiden to use Flamthrower instead of Fire Spin, not only burning the spikes, but also striking Yanma.
Ash: Aiden, I said Fire Spin.
Aiden: Relax, I'm a Charmeleon, I can handle it. Besides, I need to evolve somehow.
Jessie: We'll show you! Yanma, Air Slash!
James: Alright Inkay, let's show our stuff with Psybeam!
As the Yanma fired off air blades at the Pokemon, Inkay targeted Showers and Green with a pink and purple energy beam.
Rainer: Showers, into the water then use Acid Armor!
Ash: Green, jump and use Iron Tail!
The Vaporeon jumped into the nearby pond, using Acid Armor to then turn invisible. Inkay floated swiftly to the water, trying to find him as Green jumped, ready to strike. But suddenly, Aiden leapt up, hitting Inkay with Dragon Claw before quickly jum;ing back, leaving Green to fall into the water.
Green: Hey, that was mine!
Aiden: Snooze, you lose, Greeny!
Ash: *warning* Aiden…. Green, Leaf Blade!
Rainer: Showers, Aqua Jet!
As Green growled, he leapt out of the water, ready to use Leaf Blade as Showers leapt out as well before-
James: Now use Foul Play!
Inkay then proceeded to grab the Sceptile and Vaporeon, turn them around, and throw them to the pond bank. Yanma fired another Sonic Boom at Thunders, only to suddenly raise its wings, causing multiple rocks surrounded by purple energy to come out of the ground.
Misty: That doesn't look like any move I know.
Brock: That's Ancient Power!
Yanma then flaps its wings, sending the rocks flying at Aiden and Thunders.
Ash: Aiden, please listen! Deflect them with Dragon Claw!
Thankfully, the Charmeleon listened as his claws flowed bright green, using them to shatter the rocks. However, he stopped as a bright light came from the Yanma.
Jessie: What, did I say the secret word?
Meowth: No, Yanma's evolving!
Yanma grew larger as its wings became longer as the 2 bumps on its tail became smaller wings to the side. The light died down, revealing a larger, green doragonfly with longer, jagged feet, a curved tail, longer wings, and black spines down fro its had to its back, which had gained larger eyes and fangs coming frm its mouth. Slightly intimidated at the sight of the bug, Ash quickly scanned it.
Pokedex: Yanmega, the Ogre Darner Pokemon and the evolved form of Yanma. A Bug and Flying type. Yanmega is rumored to be what Yanma in ancient times looked like before the current day. It uses its sharp fangs to bite apart opponents and the vibrations caused by its wings can give its opponents internal damage.
Green: Ash, these guys are tougher than we thought. Surprisingly even that Inkay.
Cobalt: Need me to step in?
Green: Naw. I think Ash knows what we need to do.
Looking at Green, Ash smiled and nodded, tapping the Key Stone on his glove, causing the stone to shine brightly as the Mega Stone on Green's vest glowed as well.
Ash: Alright, Green! Mega Evolve!
James: *afraid* Oh no…. Not again.
The stone glowed brighter as Green let out a loud screech while he glowed with it, his tail elongating and his form growing slightly taller as the light subsided to reveal Green's new form. His head crests become more pointed with a round portion missing from the middle as red marking surrounds its eyes, which become smaller and more narrow. The yellow seeds down Green's back grew large as the last pair turned red as red stripes encircled the base of his tail, which had become much more similar to a pine tree. The leaves on Green's wrists become more pointed and along with his chest and shoulder being covered by pine leaves.
Sparky: Woah…
Rainer: Talk about evolution….
Pyro: I wonder if Booster could do that.
Pokedex: Mega Sceptile, a result of Sceptile being exposed to a sample of Sceptilite. A Grass and Dragon type. When in battle, Mega Sceptile can fire off its tail like a rocket, causing a huge explosion that elicites a sort of grassy terrain. Its tail grows back immediately or whenever it returns to normal.
Green: "Grass and Dragon"?!
Cobalt: No wonder you learned Dragon Rush. It was a damn omen!
Ash: Well, let's try this out! Dragon Rush!
Green jumped as the seeds on his back flared up. He let out a shrill yell as the large tree-espue mass on his tail fired off, energy surrounding it and shaping into a dragon shape as it crashed into Inkay, knocking it back. As Green landed, his tai grew back just as the Pokedex said.
Cobalt: Awesome!
Jessie: *growls* Enough of this! Yanmega, Ancient Power!
Yanmega summoned more rocks from the ground, prepared to launch them if Aiden hadn't tackled it to the ground.
Yanmega: Hey! What're you- OW!
Aiden then punched Yanmega in the face, then he punched it again.
Inkay: Hey, what are you doing?! You're supposed to take turns attacking!
Aiden: Screw that, this is a fight!
He then picked up the dragonfly and threw it into Jessie, knocking them both down as James helped her up and allowed her to grab the cage holding Token..
James: Forget the battle! *runs* Run for it!
Pyro: Oh no you don't! Booster, Fire Spin!
The Flareon breathed a spiraling fire towards the Rockets, allowing a small wall of fire to spawn and block their path.
Sparky: We beat you, now give Token back!
Jessie: …*smirks* Did you really think those were our only Pokemon?
Both Jessie and James released Arbok and Weezing and much to the thrio's horror, they wiped the Eeveelutions like stains as Arbok tokk down Thunders with Poison Fang and both Showers and Booster were taken out by Sluddge Wave.
Meowth: Looks like we're tougher than you thought, huh?
James: We're the champions of Team Rocket!
Ash: We'll show you champions! Cobalt, Aura Sphere!
Cobalt launched an Aura Sphere at Jessie, which knocked her down and made her throw the cage at the group, the door knocking open as it hit the ground and releasing Token, who immediately ran to Mikey and leapt into his arms.
Jessie: We can't lose this battle to them!
James: Especially on our first day as champions!
Misty: They still want to fight?
Green: Guess they're broken.
Still hugging Eevee, Mikey looked over, noticing his brothers worriedly looking over their wounded Pokemon. Just then, an anger filled the boy, seeing his brothers worrying themselves sick and Token as well at the sight of seeing his brothers hurt.
Mikey: Alright Token, get ready! Time for our first real battle!
Token: *jumps down* Right!
Brock: Wow, those little guys sure are brave.
Green: You got this, kid!
Aiden: Alright, they can have this one, I guess.
Mikey: Alright Token, use Quick Attack!
The Eevee nodded as he started running at Team Rockt, which only made them smile cockily.
Jessie: What's this, a plush toy?
Meowth: Too easy.
Mikey: Now Take Down!
Suddenly, the Eevee started running even faster as he then rammed into the group, the surprising amunt of force of the attack causing them to be sent flying, Yanmega simply flying after them since it wasn;t hit itself.
Mikey: Yeah! You did it, Token!
Token: We both did, buddy!
Ash: Great work, Mikey. You'll be a really good trainer one day.
Mikey: I hope so. It'd be pretty cool to have my own Mega Evolving Pokemon like I've always wanted.
Green: *turns back* How'd you know about Mega Evolution before today?
Token: Blacky told us.
Suddenly, Blacky appeared out of nowhere behind Green, spooking the Scptile as he spoke.
Blacky: I know all and see all-
Green: AH, SWEET MEW! *punches Blacky*
After Ash handed the Eevee brothers some revives for their Pokemon, they joined up with Mikey, looking to him with pride.
Sparky: That was amazing, Mikey. You won your first battle all by yourself.
Rainer: And you even won without making Token evolve.
Pyro: You said you didn;t care about battling, but look at what you did.
Mikey: I just… Wanted to help out.
He then looks to Cobalt, who nods and gives him a thumbs up, encouraging him to face his brothers.
Mikey: Guys… I've decided to not have Token evolve into anything.
Sparky: *shocked* Are…. Are you serious?
Mikey: I've been trying to tell you guys for a while. Token doesn;t want to, either.
Showers: Is this true?
Token: *downcast* Yeah, Showers. To be honest… I don;t really think evolving is for me.
Mikey looked down, almost in shame as he awaited the ridicule of his brothers, only for them to lean down, giving him warm smiles and still proud looks.
Sparky: Well, if you don;t want Token to evolve, he won;t evolve.
Mikey: Really?... Sorry if I disappointed you guys.
Rainer: No worries, Mike. We just wish you told us sooner. But I guess we didn;t really give you a chance too, huh?
Pyro: Sorry about that. To you and Token.
Thunders: And for us too, Mikey.
Showers: We know us Eevee-lutions can be a little bit eccentric…
Blacky: *screams* THE GROUND TENTICLES ARE DROWNING ME!
Showers: Okay, maybe more than a little bit. But Token;s our brother. If you don;t want to evolve him and he doesn;t want to evolve, we'll respect that.
Booster: Sorry about being so harsh.
Mikey: *smiles* Older brothers are the best.
Cobalt: *smiles at Green* Got that right.
Later on, the group made it back to the party, congratulating Mikey on finally making his decision as they returned the stolen Pokemon. As the party began to wind down, Ash and his friends waved off as they left, the four brothers assuring them that they were welcome back to Stone Town anytime.
Sparky: Come on, guys. Let's head inside.
Thunders: Sounds good, partner.
Token: Hey… I haven;t heard any panicked screaming or tentacle rambles since Ash and his friends started leaving.
Pyro: Hey, Token's right. It's been weirdly quiet.
Showers: Now that I think about it, where's Blacky?

Later on that night, the gang had just set up camp and while Brock was fixing dinner and Misty was playing a little bit with her Wimpod, Ash had begun training his Pokemon. Though Aiden had to sit out the training for tonight due to his recklessness and unnecessary aggression during the earlier battle. However, as he was watching Yami work on Phantom Force, Ash felt a tingle up his spine and turned, only to see nothing was different.
Cobalt: Everything okay?
Ash: Yeah… I just thought that… Something was watching me….
Green: I dont; see anything. It was probably nothing.
Ash: Hmm… Yeah, I guess you're right.
The boy then went back to training before Brock announced dinner was finished, which they ate before heading ogg to sleep for the journey continuing tomorrow. However, unknown to them, a pair of golden eyes was indeed watching Ash, which were highlighted by a series of light blue rings glowing from the darkness….
