After Ash and his friends left Cinnibar Island as Ash had won his 7th gym badge, our heroes set their course to the final Kanto gym, which resided in Viridian City. However, instead of being with them, we start off at the Cerulean City Gym, where Daisy is in the middle of a gym battle against a familiar blue-haired man. She battled with a large white sea lion witha sleek body as the man fought back with a large, blue beetle with a long horn.
James: Now Heracross, finish it with Brick Break!
The stag beetle then arate chops the sea lion, knocking it into the water where it then rises up, revealing to have fainted.
Daisy: Dewgong, no!
Referee: Dewgong is unable to battle! The winner is Heracross! And as such, the match goes to James the challenger!
As Daisy returned her Dewgong, Heracross flew up to James's platform, where the man then patted his head.
James: Thank you, Heracross. You were fantastic.
Heracross: Anything for you, James.
Nodding, James returned his Hercross to its ball as he then climbed down the platform as Violet met him as he climbed down, handing him a Cascade Badge.
Violet: Like, congratulations. For beating the Cerulean Gym, he's your Cascade Badge.
James: Thank you.
He takes the badge as he then pins it to a strip of plaid cloth in his vest, where he has most of the badges that Ash has; the only one missing being the badge from Viridian City. As he exited the building, he's met by Jessie and Meowth, the woman handing him his Team Rocket uniform.
Jessie: How'd it go?
James: One badge left to go. Any news from the boss?
Meowth: For some reason, he wants us back in Viridian. Probably wants a progress report.
Jessie: *sadly* And we haven;t stolen a single Pokemon…
James: Well, the day is still young. What's say we try one more job? For old time's sake.
Hearing this, Jessie and Meowth as they step into the balloon, which was parked in the nearby forest as it then rises up to fly off to Viridian City..
Jessie: First, we do a little quickie….
James: Then we show off our greatest tricky!
Meowth: And we live on happily ever after, tons of money and 'Mon under our belts!
Wobbuffet: *pops up* That's right!

Now with that out of the way, we now return to our heroes as their 2 days of traveling paid off as they finally reached Viridian City, the whole process being a nostalgia trip for Ash, Cobalt, and Green.
Ash: I stil can;t believe it's almost a year since we've been here, huh guys?
Cobalt: Yep. Really makes you look back from when we begun.
Brock: You've been here before Ash?
Misty: Yeah, the Pokemon Center here is where we first spoke after…. You know who, friend my bike.
Ash: Especially after that month of training for your fym, Brock.
Brock: You spent a month training?
Ash: Well, two days shy of a month…. I was in the hospital for those 2 days.
Brock: *shocked*... Not even going to ask.
As they continued walking, they spot a large building with marble columns, the front entrance being guarded by two grunts wearing black uniforms and black caps.
Azula: Huh… Those guys look familiar….
Cobalt: We already have 7 badges… One more, and we're in the league.
Ash nodded as he thought back to his previous battles. How each one not only tested his skills, but also helped him grow and mature.
Brock and Misty helped him finally open himself up and reveal his greatest secret to them.
Surge helped him get over his latent fear of Electric Pokemon and helped him and Cobalt grow closer and become true partners.
Sabrina having him fully embrace his psychic abilities and truly learn he wasn;t alone with his ability as a Speaker.
Erika showing him the true power of having empathy with his Pokemon, and not only that, but to others as well (despite that stupid ass ban).
Koga having him keep on his toes and expect the unexpected both in life and on the battlefield.
And finally, his recent battle with Blaine, where he learned to think on the spot, go through plans to the end and something not to think; just DO.
Ash: I have to win here. I just have too….
Misty: Just know, Ash. We know you can do this. You came this far.
Brock: We got your back.
Ash smiled back at his friends, along with seeing his four released Pokemon smiling at him. However, just as things were simply perfect for Ash…. A large red convertible drove up as a familiar cackling could be heard as it pulled up. As the roof pulled up, the passengers inside were revealed to be of course Gary and his squad of cheerleaders.
Gary: Still playing with your cute little Pokepals, eh, Ashy-boy?
Cheerleaders: Gary, Gary, he's the best! Gary's gonna beat the rest!
Ash: Gary…
Green: Arceus dammit, of course! Just when we were all happy, he just had to show up! Gary MOTHER FUCKING *deep* Oooooaaaaakkkkkk…..
Gary: I thought you finally gave up catching Pokemon, but imagine my surprise seeing you still at it here in Viridian with…. Admittedly kinda cool-looking Pokemon.
Ash: *frustrated* I'll show you…..
Azula: *places hand on Ash's shoulder* Take it easy, Ash.
Gary: Ha! Look at you, having to be trained by your own Pokemon! I bet you don;t even have enough badges to challenge the League yet.
Ash: I only need one, Oak! Then I can get into the League!
Gary: *scoffs* Still behind as always. Take a look.
Gary then takes out a small emtal case and opens it, revealing 10 gym badges within, some Ash recognized like the Rainbow Badge and Boulder Badge, but there were many others he didn;t recognize.
Gary: As you can see, I got 10. Still think you got what it takes to be a Pokemon Master?
As Ash growled, he kept himself reigned in, not wanting to say something he;d regret or start any physical conflict.
Misty: If you have 10 badges, why are you even here?
Gary: Practice. After all, the League's gonna be chock full of powerful trainers, so I want all the practice I can get. Now if you excuse me, I got a battle to win….
He then gets out of the car and walks up the steps, where he then shows his badges to the guards.
Gary: My name is Gareth Shigeru Oak. I come to request a battle with the Viridian gym leader.
Grunt: Hmm…. You may enter.
The grunt knocks on the door three times, allowing it to open as he and the cheerleaders walk inside, the girls talking about how Gary will win.
Green: We gotta check this out, Ash.
Ash nods to his Sceptile as they then walk up the steps to the door, where one of the grunts stops them while the doors close.
Grunt: HALT! No one is allowed in the gym unless they have at least 7 gym badges belonging to the Kanto region!
Ash: *shows badges* I have my badges right here.
Grunt: Huh…. Sorry about that, but only one challenger is allowed inside at a time.
Ash: Fine. Can we wait out here?
Grunt: Knock yourself out.
Ash nodded as he and his team moved to the entrance of the gym's gates, where he then released Aiden, Psi, and Yami.
Ash: Alright guys, we're here at the Viridian City gym. This is an important battle since this will get us our last badge needed to enter the Pokemon League. And as such, we need a good strategy.
Yami: Well, who'll you use?
Ash: The gym specializes in Ground-types, so Green and Azula for sure, but I'm not sure about the last member.
Aiden: Call me crazy, but…. Maybe Kestrel should be used in this battle.
Ash: Kestrel?
Cobalt: Are you crazy!? You can;t send my infant son into battle!
Yami: Why not?
The Gengar then swipes the Togepi out of Azula's hands as he carries him, making funny faces that Kestrel laughs at.
Yami: I'm sure he can handle it. Whoops!
As he says this, Yami throws Kestrel into the air, giving Cobalt and Azula a heart attack before the Gengar catches Kestrel, the baby laughing as he's thrown.
Yami: The baby! *throws Kestrel* Whoops! *catches Kestrel* The baby! *throws Kestrel* Whoops!... Uh… Kestrel?...
Azula: *darkly* Franklin… Where is our son?
Green: There!
They see the baby had landed n a flagpole on the gym's front, where he bounces from the bent pole and is rocketed up to a perched Fear as it yawns. Suddenly Kestrel is shoved into the Fearow's beak, making it panic as it flies off, coughing in the process as everyone watches in shock.
Yami: Uh… Uh oh.
Ash/Misty/Brock: NOT THE BABY!
Yami is suddenly grabbed by Azula, who then slams him to a wall with a finger about to use Mud Shot threteningly.
Azula: How could you do that to my baby!?
Yami: I-I-I'm sorry! It was an egg-cident, honest!... Get it?... "EGG-cident"?
The Inteleon growls as she's about to punch Yami with Liquidation, only for Cobalt to call out.
Cobalt: STOP!
Yami: Phew! Thanks, Co-
Cobalt: *forms Bone Rush* I. Get. First. SHOT!
The Gengar screams like a woman as he phases through the wall and floats away swiftly, eliciting Cobalt and Azula to chase after him.
Psi: Should we stop them?
Green: Yeah….. In about 2 minutes. Let them get their anger out first.
Misty: Come on, we have to find that Togepi!
And as such, the others left the gym grounds, trying to not only find Kestrel, but also stop a pair of mates from killing their teammate.
Meanwhile however, Kestrel is having the time of his life during the flight, subsequently choking it in the process. Eventually, the Fearow spat the little guy out over a building, where Jessie, James and Meowth are seen scoping the city with binoculars.
Jessie: I haven;t spotted a thing worth stealing. What about you, James?
James: I got nothing. Not eve a measly little Pikachu.
Meowth: Hey, I bet the boss would love a spotted Pikachu.
Suddenly, Kestrel falls towards the rooftop, his landing cushioned by him bouncing off of James's backside, causing the man to let out a surprised yelp and blush like mad. Seeing Meowth near him and thinking he had spanked him, he punched the cat behind the head.
Meowth: OW!... Hey, what gives you the right to punch me in the head?!
James: What gives you the right to spank my ass?!
Meowth: Don;t flatter yourself, I wouldn't waste my time spanking you!
Jessie: Will you two queit down?! How are we supposed to find a Pokemon to steal and not lose our jobs with you two always bickering in my ear? *to the sky* ARCEUS, GIVE ME A SIGN!
Suddenly, the Togepi chittered to himself as he walked right past Meowth, catching the trio's attention as James picked up the Togepi with a giddy expression.
Jessie: Thanks, Arceus!
James: See? I told you praying helps.

Meanwhile, back at the Viridian Gym, Gary is seen on the battlefield, wearing his usual cocky grin as his cheerleaders cheered on. On the other side of the field was a balcony and sitting in it was a man with brown hair and wearing an orange suit, who pet a Persian as he sat in an expensive looking chair.
?: I am Giovanni, the Viridian City gym leader. And who might you be?
Gary: The name's Gary Oak, the best trainer from Pallet Town! I've come to challenge you and prove my metal!
Giovanni: *chuckles* Confident, are we, boy? Very well, I accept your challenge. Does a 3-on-3 sound good?
Gary: Fine with me.
Giovanni: *picks up Pokeball* All right. Battle Start!
Suddenly, a bell is heard ringing as Giovanni throws the ball, releasing a rhino-esque creature made entirely of rocks.
Gary: Rhyhorn, huh? Alright, then. *throws Pokeball* Go, Blastoise!
Out from Gary's Pokeball came a large blue turtle with small ears on its head, along with the shell pieces over its shoulders opening to reveal two high powerful cannons.
Giovanni: Ah, so you've come prepared for my Ground-types with a Water type Pokemon. Let's see if your skill is up to snuff. Rhyhorn, use Take Down!
Rhyhorn roared as it began charging right at Blastoise, Gary smirking the whole way.
Gary: Blastoise, Mega Kick!
The turtle kicked the Rhyhorn upside the head, sending it back and flipping it in midair.
Gary: Now, use Hydro Pump!
Blastoise's cannons fired two powerful blasts of water, sending Rhyhorn careenng into the wall and fainting it.
Giovanni: Rhyhorn, come back! *returns Rhyhorn* Impressive. However, Rhyhorn was one of my weaker Pokemon. Try your luck with this. *throws Pokeball* Nidoqueen!
This time, a large bipedal Pokemon appeared, this one having blue, armor-like skin, a small horn on its head, and large ears with brown insides.
Gary: Huh. *takes out Pokedex* Where have I seen this before?
Pokedex: Nidoqueen, the Drill Pokémon. A Poison and Ground type. Nidoqueen has thick skin covering its entire body, protecting it from whatever techniques are used against it.
Gary: Got it.
Giovanni: Nidoqueen, Poison Jab!
With a glowing purple fist, Nidoqueen tried to punch Blastoise, only for Blastoise to step back and Gary to return it just in time.
Gary: Blastoise, return! *to Giovanni* Your Nidoqueen's tough, old timer. But let's see how it does agaisnt the alpha male. *throws Pokeball* Go, Nidoking!
A Pokemon similar to Nidogween appeared, only this one was more bulky with purple skin, blue ears, and a longer horn.
Gary: Nidoking, use Earth Power!
Nidoking punched its fist nto the ground, causing cracks to appear beneath Nidoqueen and a powerful energy blast to strike from below.
Gary: Now, Heavy Slam!
Nidoking jumped into the air slightly before landing on top of Nidoqueen, knocking it out with Nidoking's sheer bulk.
Cheerleaders: WHOOO! Gary, Gary, he's the best! He's the one who'll beat the rest!
Gary: That's true, and I don;t wanna disappoint you girls. *shakes head* Sometimes I wonder why I was cursed with such talent.
Giovanni: *returns Nidoqueen* Talent?... This is what you call talent? Overcompensating for your shortcomings? Hiring cheerleaders to egg you on? You have no idea what you are doing, boy.
The boy was surprised at the man's words, no one had the gall to call him out on these aspects before. However, this just got Gary angry.
Gary: Shut up! Maybe we should call it quits, gramps. You can;t beat me!
Giovanni: Is that what you think, little boy?... Well then, perhaps one more battle…
He snaps his fingers as a nondescript metal door opens in front of Gary, revealing the armored Pokemon from the test tube we've seen before. It was now hooked up to wires from the back of its head, the small of its back, and its arms as the visor gleamed with a rainbow visage.
Gary: Huh?
Giovanni: Behold, my ultimate weapon…. Attack!
The man pressed a button on the armrest of its chair, causing a shock to course through the wires and heavily electrocute the Pokemon, making it spazz and twitch. Gary actually became sick at the sight before the monster's eyes glow from behind its visor and Nidoking was picked up with Psychic, being sent halfway across the room and slamming into a wall.
Gary: *worried* NIDOKING!... How did it do that? *scans Pokemon* What the hell is that thing?
Pokedex: Pokemon unrecognized. No data available.
Gary: *horrified* No…. Data…?
Giovanni: This is my newest asset; the world's most powerful Pokemon. I'd like to test it in battle. Go ahead, use more than one of your Pokemon, I do not care. Unless… You're afraid to lose….
Gary: *growls, picks up Pokeballs* I'm not afraid of you! *throws Pokeballs* Blastoise, Arcanine, go! You too, Nidoking!
Blastoise, along with a large orange wolf Pokemon with black stripes emerged from their balls as they and Nidoking charged forht towards the Pokemon.
Gary: Blastoise, use Hydro Cannon! Arcanine, Fire Blast! Nidoking, Earth Power!
Giovanni: *scoffs* Is that all you got? Attack again!
He shocks the Pokemon again, but to no avail as it just stands there, taking the hits from its opponent. It's almost like it'd rather lose than listen to Giovanni. However, this just makes the man angry as it growls, turning a dial on the armrest net to the button from where it stood at 2… All the way to 50.
Giovanni: You heard me, Beast! I. Said. *slams button* ATTACK!
The Pokemon is then electrocuted harshly, spazzing as if it were a seizure and even its skeleton was almost visible. Gary and the cheerleaders stared at the frying Poekmon in horror, disgust, and sympathy as the Pokemon then lifted a hand up from its still smoking body and lefted all three of its opponents with Psychic. They couldn;t move, but Gary could tell they were in agony.
Gary: Arcanine…. Nidoking…. Blastoise…..
Giovanni: Don't waste your time. This is the ultimate Pokemon. And do you know what this means?
The Pokemon is shocked again, causing it to raise Gary's three Pokemon upwards, much to Gary's horror for his Pokemon's safety.
Giovanni: With this Pokemon, I can never be defeated! And with it, I will be the strongest! And soon, I! Will rule! THE WOOORLDD!
As the man cackled madly, Gary couldn;t move in fear of the man's words, even as he saw Blastoise careening right at him. He didn;t seet it… Not even when everything went black.
To be continued?…
