On their way to Virbank City for Serena's Pokemon Contest, our heroes had decided to stop for a small lunch, which allowed Ash and Gary to have some sparring matches in order to level up Membra and Jaws and help Cobalt master Bullet Punch while Aiden trained Kestrel in flight speed and agility.
Gary: Alright, let's do this! Arctozolt, use Powder Snow! Blastoise, Hydro Pump, and Jolteon, you use Pin Missle!
All three of Gary's Pokemon unleashed their attacks on Ash's three Pokemon, who managed to jump out of the way.
Ash: Alright then, let's show em! Cobalt, use Bullet Punch on Blastoise! Membra, Thunderbolt on Arctozolt and Jaws, use Hydro Pump, then Ice Fang on Jolteon!
Ash's Pokemon did just that, Cobalt putting out a rapid barrage of punches on Blastoise's stomach, Membra releasing her newly learned Thunderbolt onto Artcozolt, and Jaws firing a Hydro Pump on Jolteon before biting down onto him with ice cold fangs, remembering to be mindful of the spines. However, they immediately dropped the canine as a kitchen timer went off.
Serena: Ash, your timer went off!
Ash: Oh good, that means lunch is ready.
Cobalt: Awesome!
On top of a campfire sat a large steaming pot, where Ash then lifted the lid to reveal he was cooking some kind of stew. He poured it into three bowls before releasing the rest of his party and filling their bowls with Poke Chow. As he sat down, Ash looked around, spotting Gary and Serena eating the stew.
Gary: *surprised* Ash, this stuff is good.
Ash: Oh, stop. I'm sure it ain't that good.
Gary: Well, it's not perfect, Ash, but this is some damn good stew.
Serena: This is delicious, Ash.
Hunter: Not to forget, your Pokemon food's pretty good too.
Ash: You… *blushes* You guys realy think it's good?
Green: Yeah, Ash, this is great! But no offense, this is nowhere near Brock's level.
Ash: Yeah, true. I got nothing on Brock's cooking talent.
Serena: Ash, who's Brock?
Ash: Oh, Brock's my old friend who traveled with me through Kanto. He always cooked when we were on the road and before he left, he lent me some cookbooks for some simple meals, which really helped me out since I used to watch him cook.
Gary: Well, I'd say your observing's paid off.
Aiden: You can say that twice!
Soon enough, the group finished eating their lunch and began to pack up to start resuming their journey. However, as they were about to leave, a massive shape flew over them, casting a large shadow.
Gary: What was that?
Ash: I don't kow, but it went down the same path we'regoing.
Cobalt: Guys, something about that shape didn't see, right. We better check it out really quick.
After most of the Pokemon were recalled and Gary was informed on the new plan, Ash led the others down the path before they found a small grotto near the exit of the woods, where a large blue dragon with red wings was flying in front of a tree.
Ash: Who's that Pokemon?
Gary: A Salamence? But those aren't native to Unova, what's one doing here?
Serena: *takes out Pokedex* Salamence?
Pokedex: Salamence, the Dragon Pokemon. A Dragon and Flying type. Its long-held dream fulfilled at last, Salamence constantly flies around and releases intense blasts of fire as an expression of its joy, only stopping when it gets exhausted.
Ash was surprised at the sight of such a Pokemon in a region where it doesn't naturally live, but that surprise changed when he noticed something else on the Salamence: the shape of a human on top of its head.
Ash: Guys, I- I think someone's riding that Salamence!
Serena: I think it's more than that, Ash. I think the rider is talking to someone hiding in that tree.
?: Well, that's an interesting little friend you got there… Why don't you hand it over?
The group couldn't hear any response from the tree before suddenly, a small green dragon Pokemon was let down from the tree and proceeded to run away as the person on the Salamence looked over while Ash scanned it.
Pokedex: Axew, the Tusk Pokemon. A Dragon type. Axew marks its territory by making scratch marks on trees with its tusks. The tusks can sometimes break off, but they grow back.
Spotting the little Axew, the Salamence turned around, revealing the rider to be a woman with light blue hair, a visor over her eyes, and a jumpsuit decorated with multiple pieces of machinery.
Woman: Oh, I love it when they run~.
The woman then points her arm at the Axew, where a beam comes out from her cuff and hits it. Suddenly, the group watches in shock as the dragon type is turned into a brown statue.
Gary: *horrified* Oh my Arceus…..
Green: What did she do to him? It's like he's been frozen.
Woman: Mission accomplished.
Another figure joined the fray, having come from the tree Axew came from; this one being a girl with dark skin and large purple hair going down her back as she look terrified at the sight of her Pokemon.
?: No, Axew!
Woman: You should be grateful, child. Your Axew will be preserved for all of eternity. Plus, he'll ftch me a nice price. *into earpiece* Transport the target.
Suddenly, a large rover drove onto the scene as its top opened, letting loose a floating disk that slipped under Axew. The disk then let up a glass cage tht encased the frozen Axew and retreated back to the rover, where it then drove off. Ash and the others then ran up to the girl just as the woman flew off on her Salamence.
Ash: Are you okay?
?: I-I'm fine. But please! You have to get Axew back!
Gary: We will. Don;t worry.
Without another thought, Ash threw out a Pokeball and released Aiden, who Ash, Cobalt, and Green climbed onto.
Ash: That woman on that Dragon-type took that girl's Pokemon! After her!
Aiden: You got it, Ash!
Aiden flew after the woman as Salamence and the rover split paths along a fork, with the Charizard following Salamence. Spotting the rover driving on a road going down the hill, Ash had Aiden fly down to cut it off.
Ash: Aiden, use Flamethrower!
The Charizard belched a stream of fire on the rover, only for it to have no effect. However, it stopped as Aiden landed, allowing his passengers to step down just as the woman approached atop her Salamence.
Woman: An impressive Flamethrower. I've barely seen any move with that sort of raw power behind it in years.
Ash: Stop stalling! You can't just steal people's Pokemon like that!
Cobalt: *steps forward* Give back that little guy back to their trainer or else!
Woman: *impressed* And I also see you have a rather unique Lucario. Along with a Mega Stone, it might fetch a pretty penny.
Ash: Quit it with that talk and give back Axew!
Woman: Sorry not sorry, *takes out Pokeball* but no can do.
She then threw the Pokeball, releasing a large, purple, scorpion-like Pokémon with blue pieces above its eyes and claw-like spikes on its arms and tail. Surprised at the creature, Ash scanned it with his Pokedex.
Pokedex: Drapion, the Ogre Scorpion Pokemon. A Poison and Dark type. Drapion has a sturdy build with armor-like skin that can easily bounce off swords. It has enough power to easily scrap a car and take down foes without the use of its deadly toxin.
Woman: I'd like to see your Lucario's other moves, they… intrigue me. Drapion, Pin Missle!
The massive scorpion fired off several needles from its mouth, which Cobalt dodged as he ran towards it.
Ash: Cobalt, use Aura Sphere!
Woman: Use Fire Fang!
Drapion's mouth caught on fire as it sunk its fangs into Cobalt's arm, causing him to scream as he fired an Aura Sphere right into its face, making it let go.
Ash: Now, Steel Beam!
Woman: Steel Beam?
With a yell, Cobalt unleashed a silver blast right at Drapion, knocking it back as Cobalt winced and clenched his arm.
Woman: Marvelous! I've never seen a move like that before. *smirks* You'll be worth a lot.
She then aimed her arm, now revealed to have a blaster strapped to it, right at Cobalt, where it then bega to charge.
Cobalt: What?
Aiden: Cobalt, look out!
The Charizard then pushed Cobalt out of the way just in time as he was blasted by the woman, becoming brown and stone-like before falling stomach first onto the ground.
Ash: *horrified* AIDEN!
Woman: Relax, kid, your Charizard's fine. I make sure to protect my investments. *throws Pokeball* Ariados, Spider Web!
An Ariados then appeared from the Pokeball, spitting up a Spider Web that tangled Ash and his starters to the cliff wall as Aiden was transported into the rover.
Green: Hey! Give him back! Get back here, you bitch, and fight me!
Despite the threats, the woman flew off t the rover not too far behind. Ash looked on in worry and distress at the retreating rover just as Gary, Serena, and the girl from earlier ran up to them.
Serena: Ash!
Gary: Are you okay, what happened?
Ash: She…. She got away… And she got Aiden.
Gary: Oh no!
The girl took out a pocket knife and cit the three free, Serena spraying a potion on Cobalt's arm as he winced. Suddenly, a large whooshing filled the air as in the distance, the group saw a massive metallic form lift into the air and fly off, cloaking soon after.
Cobalt: Oh, come on! She has a damn airship?! Here's our bullshit advantage?!
Ash looked at the sky in utter horror. Aiden, one of his best Pokemon and close friends, had just been kidnapped and taken away to Arceus knows where. Seeing their trainer in distress, booth Cobalt and Green approached Ash, hugging him frm both sides as he sank closer into their embrace.
Green: Don;t worry, Ash. We'll get him back.
Suddenly, the region's version of Officer Jenny rode up to them in a motorcycle, stopping as she turned to the group.
Officer Jenny: Are any of you the one who called me?
?: *steps forward* That would be me, officer! My name is Iris Negai, someone came up to me while I was in the woods and stole my Axew!
Ash: And that same woman stole my Charizard! She turned him into a statue and took him!
Officer Jenny: Statue?... Oh no. Not her.
Gary: Do you know her, Officer Jenny?
Officer Jenny: *nods* Mhm. She goes by the name, "J". She's one of the most wanted people in the world as a Pokemon Hunter.
Serena: Pokemon Hunter?
Officer Jenny: One of the absolute lowest a person could go. J makes a living on capturing rare or endangered Pokemon from their homes, or worse their trainers, to sell them for a profit.
Iris: *disgusted* Sell them?! For money?!
Officer Jenny: Exactly. J's usually hired ahead of time by a client to capture a requested Pokemon and if she happens to find a Pokemon that catches her interest, she catches it anyway. *dark* And as I'm sure you've seen, she has her own method of keeping them quiet.
Gary: That's just horrible!
Serena: She can't get away with this!
Officer Jenny: We've been trying to find a way to arrest her all these years, but J is something else. She's smart, she's resourceful, and I'm pretty sure you've seen her airship. And what's worse, her real identity is an enigma.
Green: Ah, beautiful! This is just perfect! Not only did Aiden have to get captured, but he got captured by one of the mpst elite hunters alive! How are we even supposed to find her?! It's not like we can instantly go to any part of the world she might end up!
Cobalt: Instantly go to-?... Green, that's it!
Green: You're damn right that's- *confused* What?
Cobalt: If we can't chase after J, the best thing we can do is find out where she's heading and cut her off!
Ash nodded to his Lucario, where he then pulled out a Pokeball.
Ash: Guys, I think I might have an idea on what we can do. *throws Pokeball* Go, Psi!
The ball opened to reveal Ash's Alakazam, impressing Iris and Serena at the sight of the advanced Psychic type.
Gary: Great idea, Ash. With Psi's psychic powers, maybe they could help us find Aiden.
Psi: Find Aiden? Why?
Ash: Psi, Aiden's been captured by a Pokemon Hunter.
Psi: What?!
The officer nods in approval, taking out a small tablet to pull up a picture of J.
Officer Jenny: This is the woman that took your trainer's Pokemon. We need you to tell us where she is going with your psychic abilities.
Sensing the severity of the situation, along with the fact that Aiden's fate is in their hands, Psi nodded as they crossed their legs and floated a bit before closing their eyes and being coated with a light blue glow. Slowly, Psi's eyes opened with a blue light, causing the others to gasp as the images of a building with a water wheel near a river played in their heads. As they kept watching, they saw J land on her Salamence right outside the building.
Gary: There! We got her!
With their job done Psi groaned and stopped the projection, floating to the ground on one knee as they clutched their head.
Ash: Thanks, Psi, I know doing that takes a lot out of you. *recalls Psi* Come take a rest.
Serena: Officer Jenny, do you know where that is?
Officer Jenny: Of course. There's an old abandoned gin mill with that very same water wheel right outside Icirrus City. Finally, we got her number… *into radio* Unova Command, this is Jenny 335, I need several units at the old gin mill at Icirrus City.
As Jenny spoke into her radio, Ash looked at the spot where he last saw the airship, glaring in utter hatred.
Ash: J…. You're gonna pay for what you've done.

Some time later, the group is seen rishing towards the abandoned mill to cut off J, with Ash and Gary riding with Jenny on her motorcycle, Cobalt and Green running beside them, and Iris and Serena riding with them atop Jenny's pokemon, which was apparently called a Stoutland. As they continue riding down the path, they make it just in time as J is on the scene, aiming her blaster at a large moth Pokemon with orange wings, turning it to stone.
Gary: There she is!
Officer Jenny: But we still don;t have her surrounded yet.
Just as the officer was about to pull out her radio, Ash suddenly got off the motorcycle, ignoring Serena's pleas as he, Cobalt, and Green ran forth to confront the hunter just as she loaded the new Pokemon into her rover.
Ash: J! GIVE BACK AIDEN RIGHT NOW!
J: Oh… It's you…
Officer Jenny: Stop right there, J! *joins Ash* I'm placing you under arrest for illegal Pokemon hunting and Pokemon cruelty.
J: I really should commend you all for managing to find my new target despot, but…. Salamence, Dragon Pulse!
Officer Jenny: Stoutland, use Hyper Beam!
Both Salamence and Stoutland launched their own energy attacks, the two colliding before creating a large explosion, blinding everyone in the area. As the light died down, the group looked over, seeing J, Salamence, and the rover hurriedly driving off. But before they could give chase, Gary brought something up.
Gary: Wait, Ash is gone!
Serena: Where's Iris?
As the humans looked around for the two missing trainers, both brothers gained a suspicion as the rover and dragon retreated to the airship.
Green: Cobalt, please tell me they didn't.
The Lucario used his aura sense to search for himself, sensing 2 signatures right underneath the rover just as it got onto the airship.
Cobalt: They did. Now what do we do?
Green: Hold on, I got an idea.
The Sceptile sprinted to Gary and swiped a ball off of his belt, throwing it to release Blastoise. With the Shellfish Pokemon out, both Pokemon climbed onto the holes in his cannons.
Gary: What are you two doing?!
Green: Fire at that airship now!
Blastoise: Uh, that's not exactly what my cannons are fo-
Green: FUCKING DO IT!
Startled by the Sceptile's yell, Blastoise fired his cannons, sending the two flying on two spouts of water right at the airship. As they drew closer, Green fired his own Dragon Pulse at the wall before grabbing onto Cobalt and turning around, his back facing the ship. The two then crash through a hole in the wall and hit the floor just as Ash and Iris crawl out from underneath a rover.
Ash: Are you two okay?
Cobalt: Oh~... Oh, that was a mistake.
Iris: What the hell exactly is wrong with your Pokemon?
Ash: I asked myself that every time.
The small group extend the room, walking out into a large hallway that split three ways.
Iris: It looks like we'll need to split up.
Ash: Right. Do you have any Pokemon on you besides Axew?
Iris: *smirks* Does this answer your question? *throws Pokeball* Come on out, Excadrill!
From Iris's Pokeball came a large brown mole Pokemon with red streaks on its stomach, a whte face with a long snout, and a large blade extending out from its forehead with matching claws on its hands.
Ash: Woah. *scans Excadrill* Excadrill?
Pokedex: Excadrill, the Subterrene Pokémon. A Ground and Steel type. Excadrill can dig maze-like underground tunnels for over 100 meters and is powerful enough to cut through thick iron plates using its steel claws.
Iris: Alright, so Excadrill and I will go down this way while you and your Pokemon go down there. Sounds good?
Ash: *nods* Got it.
The group then split and go down two separate halls, Cobalt in the lead as he runs with his eyes closed.
Cobalt: By using my aura powers, I could be able to sense where Aiden and Axew are being held.
Ash: Good thinking, Cobalt. Any signs?
Cobalt: Hmm….. Yes. I sense multiple auras in the distance, one's familiar… Yep, that's definitely Aiden. His aura always gives me warm thoughts.
Green: Eh, makes sense.
Ash: Alright, let's go.
The trio keep running as they then turn a corner. However, when they make it to the end of that hall, a Drapion ambushes them, knocking Green and Cobalt down and pulling Ash into a headlock as J comes out from a hiding spot.
Cobalt: Ash!
J: A rather brave move of you to follow me into my own ship. You have some impressive nerve, kid. Which unfortunately means…. *dark* I can't let you live.
Green: Get off him!
Green slams his tail into Drapion's face, forcing it to let Ash go and allow the boy to tuck and roll out of the way. Drapion shakes off the hit as it then takes root in front of its trainer. Cobalt and Green become ready to attack, but Ash steps up, blocking them.
Green: Ash?
Ash: Go find Aiden. I'll cover you.
Cobalt: But-
Ash: Trust me, I'll be fine. Just go! *throws Pokeballs* Kabu, Membra, come on out!
As the pair reluctantly leave their trainer, Ash's Marowak and Eelektrik are released
J: These two aren;t worth a thing. Pin Missle, now!
Ash: Kabu, use Bonemerang! Membra, use Thunder Fang!
Kabu threw his bone at the Drapion, knocking away the spikes Drapion spat out as Membra bit into it with her electricity filled mouth.
J: Cross Poison!
Both of Drapion's arm pincers glowed purple as it slashed them in an X-formation, striking both Pokemon down to the floor.
Ash: No! Are you guys okay?
Membra: It's… It's too strong.
Suddenly, contant footsteps sounded off from the floor, causing Ash to look back and see multiple goons rushing towards them, readying Pokeballs.
Ash: It's no good, there's too many of them! We need a way out of here!
Suddenly, just as one goon threw their Pokeball, a large crash was heard, Ash turning to reveal Kabu using his bone to bust a vent down.
Kabu: In here! Quickly!
Ash quickly got down and followed his Marowak into the vent as Membra then spat an Acid attack at the group, staggering them before slithering after Ash and shutting the vent behind her.

Meanwhile, Cobalt and Green are seen running down one of the hallways, Cobalt leaving the way with his eyes closed before he suddenly stops.
Cobalt: Here. Leaf Blade on this door.
Green nodded as he then slashed the door open with his arm blades, allowing the two halves to fall forward. As they walked inside, Ash, Kabu, and Membra exited out of a vent leading into that very same room, the grate flying off from Kabu's swing.
Green: What happened to you guys?
Ash: Well-
The boy was interrupted by a large buzzing sound as the nearby wall caved in. The dust settled to reveal Iris and Excadrill as they hopped in through the hole.
Iris: Oh hey.
Excadrill: Don't ask.
The group looked around the room before stopping to see the petrified Aiden, Axew, and moth Pokemon still in glass cages on a table.
Ash: Aiden!
Iris: Axew!
The pair ran up to their respective Pokemon, trying to find a way to break them out. As Ash looked around, he spotted some sort of switch on the base of the cage.
Ash: Use the switch on the cage's base, that must be what's holding them like this.
He slid the switch down and as he did, the brown disappeared off of Aiden's body, eventually reverting him back to normal and lowering the glass dome.
Aiden: *groans* I feel like I've been hit by a millin Rock Tombs.
Ash: Aiden!
Ash hugged his Charizard by the neck, snapping Aiden out of his trance and allowing him to hug back as Cobalt, Green, Kabu, and Membra joined in the embrace. Iris had done just the same for Axew, who jumped for joy into his taainer's arms as Green freed the moth Pokemon.
Axew: Iwis!
Iris: I'm so glad you're safe, Axew!
Green: And it's good to see you again…. Guy we don't know.
?: Yes, I'm afraid I never introduced myself. My name is Vulcan. I am a Volcarona.
Iris: Wow, a Volcarona. No wonder she captured this Pokemon, they're really rare.
Ash: *scans Vulcan* Rare?
Pokedex: Volcarona, the Sun Pokémon. A Bug and Fire type. Volcarona emerges from a flaming cocoon in the heart of a volcano. It scatters burning scales from its six wings, bathing the area in a sea of fire.
Vulcan: I thank you all for rescuing me in such dire straits.
Cobalt: Of course. Even though we only came to rescue our friend, we couldn't just leave you here.
Suddenly, the dooray became blocked by the squadron of goons that chased Ash, an elite looking one holding a Pokeball.
Goon: Stop right there!
Iris: Just stop! We got our Pokemon back, so just give up!
Goon: Never! *throws Pokeball* Golbat, Air Slash!
Ash: Quick, Aiden, use Flamethrower!
Both attacks from the bat and dragon collided, though the flames overpowered the bat's attack, sending it down with a burn. With a growl, the goon sent out another Pokeball, releasing a Houndoom as the Golbat got up despite its injury.
Goon: Houndoom, Dark Pulse! Golbat, Sludge Bomb!
Both Pokemon fired off their attacks, cuaisng the group to get out of the way and shield their eyes from the light of the blast.
Ash: Cobalt, Aura Sphere on Houndoom and Membra, use Thunderbolt on Golbat!
Iris: Excadrill, help out that Lucario with Horn Drill! And Axew, you use Dragon Rage on Golbat.
Excadrill's head blade spun as it rammed into Houndoom while Cobalt launched an Aura Sphere, taking out the Dark Pulse and Houndoom in the process while Axew spat out a small blue flame that was diminished by the Sludge Bomb, but the little dragon was saved by Membra as she fired a Thunderbolt, which managed to connect and knock out Golbat.
Suddenly, Vulcan flew upwards and formed a ring of fireballs around his body before flapping his wings and launching the fireballs at the goon platoon. However, the attack worked too well as the fireballs opened a hole in the wall behind the criminals. All of the occupants held onto the walls or anything they could grab for dear life while Excadrill held onto a nearly airborne Kabu and Membra and Aiden used his body to block Ash from being flung out while Iris held onto Axew.
Ash: Kabu, Membra, return!
Iris: Excadrill, return!
All three Pokemon were recalled to their balls just as the alarms sounded off and all of a sudden, the group felt a huge jolt as they spiraled downward.
Iris: What's going on?!
Goon: The boss must've detached the hangar from the ship! How could she do this to us!
Green: We gotta get out of here! NOW!
Nodding, Ash helped up Cobalt and Green as he climbed atop Aiden as Iris opened another Pokeball, releasing a Dragonite that she climbed atop of.
Goon: Hey, what about us?!
Aiden: Well, since you kidnapped me and all….. Hope you guys have a soft landing.
Cobalt: Aiden!
Vulcan: I shall get them. I may hold a grudge, but I am not heartless.
The Sun Pokemon's eyes glowed blue as he levitatted the members of J's team with Psychic before he, Aiden, and Dragonite fly out of the hole in the wall, safely landing on the ground just as the hangar crashed into the earth and exploded. As both trainers dismounted their Pokémon, a motorcycle revving could be heard as they spotted Gary, Serena, and Officer Jenny approaching.
Gary: Ash!
Serena: Are you okay?
Ash: Just fine. And look, we managed to get Aiden back!
Iris: And I got back my Axew!
Gary: Alright, so everyone wins in the end.
Cobalt: Well, I wouldn't say everyone…..
TYhe goons sat on the ground, confused and dazed from the incident before they're all wrapped in a lasso from Officer Jenny.
Officer Jenny: You all are under arrest for Pokemon theft, Pokemon cruelty, and association with PWG conspiracy.
Stoutland: Give it to 'em!
Later on, our heroes once again start traveling before Iris and Axew went their own way and Vulan flew off to his home. The team was now on a boat from Icirrus City to head to Virbank. As the sun set, Ash is seen looking over the bow of the boat, leaning over the railing as he watches the waves. Cobalt and Green stood by him as right then, Gary and Serena joined him.
Gary: Hey, it's almost dinner, Ashy boy. What's going on with you?
Ash: I….. I just can't get my mind off of J.
Serena: I can understand that. What she did to Aiden and all those other Pokemon was horrible.
Green: It's really hard to believe that some humans could be so horrible to other Pokemon. And the fact people like her deserve to call themselves human.
Ash: *growls* …It just pisses me off that she would heartlessly steal our partners if she had the chance and sell them for a quick buck.
Cobalt: Yeah, but even though we managed to save Aiden, Axew, and Vulcan, she'd just do the same thing to other Pokemon.
Gary: Relax, Ash. Her luck HAS to run out at some point, Jenny will catch her one day. No one gets away with this sort of thing forever.
Ash: I guess you're right, Gary…
The pair joined Ash and his Pokemon at watching the sinsset, letting the events of today play back in their heads. Though they inched closer and closer to Virbank City by the minute, Ash knew this day would play back in his head for days, possibly even forever. J was nothing like Team Rocket as even though they wouldn't just give Pokemonback or feel remorse for their actions, at least Team Rocket would have a low possibility for copying J's methods….
