Gathering outside of the Militech remnants moon base the task force lead by Captain Nicholas Kesting prepared his forces to attack the base. Captain Kesting was one of the original Enclave commanders on the rig and now he went from ordering around small squads of Virti-Assault Teams, to commanding entire regiments made up of a mixture of Enclave Veterans, Ex-NUSA/Militech members to fresh recruits. But right now none of that mattered as he was about to give the order for all 3 Spearheads to bust into the base. One from the landing bay, one from the side Airlock and one with experimental boarding torpedoes from up in orbit. The entire thing was risky but the hangar at least needed to be secured. The other two assaults were to draw away forces so the Hangar could be secured before a lockout can be initiated. The side Airlock was good to be a bloodbath. Hopefully the boarding pods can achieve secondary objectives in order to have better control over the facility's security.

The assault began, luckily because the hangar assault and boarding pods happened first Captain Kesting and five others were able to get inside before meeting resistance. They slowly pushed through the hallway as more and more men came through the chokepoint. But as suspected it was a slog, losing men left and right. Reports quickly came in though that the men from the drop pods managed to take control of the base's security. Not long after the hangar was secured and reinforcements started flooding in. Despite defeat being inevitable Militech fought to the last man.

When the fighting was over, Captain Kesting sat in the control center thinking about the battle. "Sir, permission to speak freely?" His second in command asked.

"Go ahead."

"Everything about this feels off, sure we have fought Militech and NUSA troops before who chose to die rather than surrender but there was almost a sense of zealotry here."

"Agreed. Have some of the more tech savvy troops check the computers and see if they can find anything. Also I want everyone to stay on this level of the facility assuming there are lower levels. Don't want anyone accidentally unleashing something we know nothing about."

"Agreed."

A few hours go by and eventually they do find something. A datapad is brought over to the Captain and he reads it. "You're telling me that these jar heads dug up some weird crypt and inside was a girl that could only be described as a child with glowing eyes, long stringy blonde hair, pale skin, and… a teddy bear?"

"Yes Sir. As your orders no one has gone down there yet, but apparently this base was built on top of a much older base and we are the third known group to have found this 'Child'."

"Does this child have a name?"

"She does and it says right there if you were to read a little further down that her name is Samantha."

"Do we know what the NUSA and Millitech were doing with her?"

"Not a clue, a lot of those files are still locked behind thick layers of Ice. We will have to get a Net Watch agent up here to breach it."

"I guess our only option is to send someone down to talk to her. As much as I know that's a horrible idea, it's our only option as we have no clue what kind of risk she poses."

"Who should we send down?"

"I will go. It will send the message that we take her seriously."

"Just keep your coms on an open channel so we can listen in."

"I plan to." Captain Kesting then got up and went to the service elevator that took him straight down to the older facility.

The elevator didn't go that far down, almost as if the base he was in was built around the old entrance to the old base. It felt as if he was being watched but not by cameras. Once the elevator stopped the captain entered what was basically another base, but the entire design was archaic. As if it was built by a group that barely had space flight. The air was stale and it was clear people had died here but what ever happened to the corpses was a mystery. Something however was drawing him to a specific location and eventually he found the crypt. The containment chamber around it was wide open. The next thing the captain noticed was the hand of a small girl tap his shoulder.

"Another visitor? How interesting." Said the voice of a young girl.

The Captain turned to look and saw the girl that was described on the datapad floating there. He jumped a bit before stepping back. "So you're this Samantha the facility's archives talk about."

"I am indeed. Please sit wherever you like." She replied.

He sat down on a folding chair that was there. "So what is all this and what are you?"

"I don't really know myself. My friend Eddie, did a lot of experiments and in the process found a way to bring me back from the dead. However the power he used was not natural. At least I don't think so."

"What did he do?"

"Again, I am not sure, he was always interested in the supernatural, and he placed something in me during one of his experiments not even expecting me to return as myself. I don't even think I did at first."

"Did anyone else experiment on you?"

"I wouldn't be surprised if the people you killed had plans but all they did was study me."

"You know about our take over of the base?"

"Yeah, I have this strange connection with the dead. So I know enough to know your people and their people are different groups. However I recommend you avoid me. Keep the base if you want, but I am a plague."

"Understood."
