Chapter 5: A lot of x time x alone

Yuri's POV:

-RING-

Yuri and Killua instanly wake up, noticing how close they are.

'What. Happened... WAIT, NO WAY! That dream was real?! I felt so comfortable tonight though, i could actually get used to this being-in-love thingy...'

Killua: "Uhm... come on, we have to get going."

Yuri: "I'm so sorry! I didn't want to sneak up on you! Please forgive me!"

Killua: "Forget it, you don't need to excuse yourself. I actually liked it..."

The last part of the sentence was very quiet, but Yuri still heard it. Loud and clear.

Yuri: "I- I di.. I did too..."

'He enjoyed it? Oh my god, my heart is beating so fast!!'

Yuri is redder than she's ever been, and Killua shows a slight blush aswell. But they just stand up and leave like nothing happened.

[5 minutes later]

The airship arrives at it's destination and lands on a tower. Everyone leaves, and the participants get told that they have to get to the bottom of the tower. That's the 3rd Phase of the exam. Everyone starts searches for clues on how to get down, but then Gon notices something.

Gon: "Hey, guys look! There are less and less other participants, and they all go trough some trapdoors. But after those are used, they don't open anymore. But we found a bunch here. Here's a group of 5."

Kurapika: "I guess we need to use these trapdoors then. Okay, everyone chooses one now and then we use them at 3!"

[20seconds later]

Kurapika: "Okay! One- Two- THREE!"

They all jump on their trapdoors and fall down a large hallway. After 10seconds, Yuri lands in a room, but only Killua is there aswell.

'This can't be... the only way to explain this is that Leorio is the examiner of this phase!'

Killua: "Guess we're alone, huh"

Suddenly, the whole room gets dark.

'Oh no, my one big weakness! I hate being in the dark! It's so scary! That's why I've always only taken missions on daytime!'

Yuri: "I- I'm scared of the darkness... I've only taken missions on daytime because of that..."

Killua: "Uhm... fine, come to me, I can see pretty well in darkness."

You can't see, but Yuri is just as red as in the morning. She walks to where she heard Killua and takes his arm.

'This feels so good... I think Leorio was right. I actually shouldn't be so mad over my feelings. I should even be glad...'

Killua: "Okay, stay close to me, I'm going to drag you out of here, okay?"

Yuri: "Okay. Thanks, Killua. Thanks for everything."

Killua: "What are you thanking me for."

Yuri: "Nothing. You wouldn't understand..."

'Even though I'd like to explain... But I'm not close to being ready for that yet'

[2 minutes later]

Killua: "I believe the darkness stops there. So you can walk on your own then. But be careful, there might be enemies."

Yuri: "W- Would y- you mind if I- I would stay n- next to you?"

'It just feels to good...'

Killua: "Fine..."

So they walk into the lighted room together. But as soon as they do, the doors behind and in front of them close.

Killua: "I knew it!"

Yuri: "What's happening now?!"

Then, a masked guy shows up and rushes towards them. He crashes against Yuri and makes her fall fast, so fast, she can't even slow the fall. So, her leg breaks. Yuri screams in pain, to the surprise of Killua.

Killua: "What happened?!"

Yuri: "I- I think my leg broke..."

As soon as Killua hears this, he seems to become more angry than ever before. He rushes to the masked man at full speed, transforms his hands into claws and-

!Yuri!: "KILLUA! STOP IT! DID YOU FORGET YOUR PROMISE?"

Pushes the man to the floor, holding his sharp nails in front of the man's neck.

Killua: "Who are you? What is your mission?"

Man: "I'm just a prisoner! The Hunter Association told us that we should stop you, but I also got a message for you! There are 5 classes of prisoners, ranked by danger and crime, the lowest is rank 5, and I'm on rank 5! But you will even face rank 1 prisoners! Now, please let me go!"

Killua: "Fine... but don't ever hurt someone again!"

Prisoner: "I swear!"

Then Killua lets him go, though He immediately rushes to Yuri after the prisoner left.

Killua: "Does it hurt badly?"

Yuri: "Kind of. It doesnt hurt as much as before now, but it's still awful... I'm afraid I can't even walk now..."

Killua: "Okay, I predict that these prisoners won't be any problem, so I'll try to get you out of here as soon as possible. Here, climb on my back. I'll carry you."

And so she does. And so Killua starts running.

'Oh my god, I feel so happy that i don't even feel the pain anymore... love is so crazy... I hope I'll get carried by him for a while... But'

Yuri: "I'm sorry."

Killua: "Why do you always excuse yourself? What is it now?"

Yuri: "I should've dodged that attack. I'm a trained assassin and can't even dodge a simple attack from such a weak guy. Yes, it was surprising, but still... You probably think I'm the dumbest girl on this whole planet now..."

Killua: "Don't worry, I never thought of that. Maybe I'm just glad you arent hurt worse..."

-pause-

"...maybe I just enjoy helping you..."

'AAAAAAHH! What is going on with meeee'

So Killua carries Yuri for a while.

They meet multiple prisoners, but Killua easily dodges them. After a few rooms, another one appears, but this time, he says something:

"If you lose to me, You will have to spend 5 hours in a locked room. If you win, you will proceed further."

Killua:"What is in that room?"

Prisoner: "Anything you need. You can even order certain stuff."

Killua: "Okay, I give up, and Yuri can't fight anymore."

The prisoner laughs and goes away, before a door to a lighted room opens. Killua walks in the room, but after he enters it, it instantly closes. There's a timer, a couch, a TV and a Monitor. Overall, anything you need.

Yuri: "Why did you do that?"

Killua: "Because your leg is broken? It needs to get treated, so this is the perfect opportunity. All of these challenges are way too easy aswell, so 5hours won't matter if I got 72 in total. So, it looks like you can order stuff on this monitor, just like the prisoner said. So, let's see..."

Killua types "Plaster". The monitor shows a picture of plaster. Killua presses on the picture and then "order".

-RING-

A small window in the wall opens before a modern bucket of plaster appears. Killua takes it and goes to Yuri.

Killua:"So, lift your trouser on the leg."

'What the hell? Man, this is so awkward...'

But even though she doesn't like it, she listens to Killua. While she does, Killua notices her blushing. It seems like he just understood the situation.

Killua's POV:

'Alright Killua, this isn't the right moment for that now. You need to help Yuri so that her leg can heal again.'

So he just does like nothing weird is happening.

Yuri's POV:

As soon as Killua begins putting the plaster on Yuri's leg, she doesn't know what to say.

'Oh my god I fucking hate being in lovr! Why does it feel so satisfying to have Killua's hand on my leg?'

Killua: "Okay, I'm done. Your leg should heal in 1-2 weeks.

Yuri: "Thanks..."

Killua: "Just don't get more hurt please."

Yuri: "I'll try"

'Does he worry about me?'

Yuri: "What about watching some TV?"

Killua: "Good idea! Wait, I'm getting snacks!"

After a while he comes with a bag of chips and some sweets, also roboter-chocolate?

'What is that chocolate? It looks so weird'

Killua: "Here! Try this. That are Chocorobos, they're my favourite food!"

He hands Yuri one of the chocolate-robots.

Yuri: "I don't know if you can call chocolate a favourite food, but okay"

Killua: "Oh, you can. I probably already ate a few tons of them."

Yuri: "TONS? How?! Also, how are you so slim then?!"

Killua: "Either the elite training, or i just don't get fat"

Yuri: "You're insane..."

Killua: "Maybe "

Yuri then opens the box, and finds something shiny next to chocolate. She takes it out and saw a golden robot.

Killua: "HOW?! That's the rarest one! I've never even seen one!"

Yuri: "Huh? Oh, if you want, you can have it"

Killua: "No thanks, I lost the interest now."

Yuri: "Aw come on, don't be so harsh and accept my gift!"

Killua: "Fine! But do you know how much it's worth? You're gifting me millions of jenny!"

Yuri: "Doesn't matter, I stole 2 million from my family"

Killua rolls his eyes befure turning on the TV.

Killua: "What do you wanna watch?"

Yuri: "Um... Maybe something funny? Like... Tom and Jerry?"

Killua: "Alright, let's see if it runs right now."

Killua searches through the programs, and finds what he searched after a while.

Killua: "There!"

He presses OK, so that they can watch Tom and Jerry.

[1 hour later]

Yuri: "That one scene where he hit Tom with the hammer was so funny! I still can't stop laughing! "

Killua: "Nothing different here "

They watch another few shows then while they're waiting to continue the exam.

[4hours later]

-RING-

Killua: "Time's up! Let's go! Can you take the snacks with us? They might be useful later!"

Yuri: "Sure! But how am I supposed to continue now?"

Killua: "Huh? I thought I would carry you?"

Yuri: "Oh, but am I no burden to you?"

Killua: "Not really, this exam is way too easy anyway"

So Yuri climbs on his back once again.

'Why. Is. Fate. So. Evil.'

The exam just continues like it ended. But in the 50th room, which Killua expected to be the last one, don't just apppear 1-3 prisoners, but at least 50.

Killua: "You can throw as many of them at us as you want, they are no match for me..."

Killua easily knocked every single one out in just a minute.

Yuri: "Wow, that was awesome!"

Killua: "Don't just say that..."

He was blushing.

As soon as Killua enters the next room, a voice is heard:

"Number #99 Killua is the third. Number #406 Yuri is the fourth."

Killua: "Only the weird guys are here yet. That Hisoka and the robo dude..."

Yuri: "Let's sit down at the opposite site..."

Killua follows Yuri's advise and puts her down before sitting down next to her.

Yuri: "Gon and the others aren't here yet, but I'm sure they will do it!"

Killua: "Yeah, I think the same..."

[6 hours later]

Yuri: "I'm getting tired... Can you wake me up if I sleep too long? I haven't slept much yet..."

Killua: "Sure"

Yuri then goes closer to Killua and rests her head on his shoulder once again before falling asleep.

[60 hours later]

Yuri is already awake as only one minute is left until the exam ends.

Yuri: "They didn't make it..."

Killua: "I guess so..."

Suddenly, the announcer said something:

"Number #405 Gon, Number #404 Kurapika, Number #403 Leorio, Number #53 Pokkle and #16 Tonpa have passed the exam that has just ended."

Gon: "KILLUA! YURI!"

Yuri: "We already thought you didn't make it!"

Kurapika tells them about their challenges, which seem way harder than Killua and Yuri's.

Killua: "Probably because we were only 2. You guys were a group of 5"

Gon: "What happened at you guys?"

Killua: "We just had to fight a few prisoners. In total it were probably around 100. During the phase one rushed against her, so that she fell and broke her leg. That's why we gave up at another one, because we had to spend 5 hours in a room like you had. We got plaster and treated her leg, so she can't walk now but it should heal in a week."

Leorio was smiling. As soon as Yuri saw that, she gave him a death glare.

'Do you remember what I said? Just shut your mouth!'
