This chapter will contain bashing of Molly Weasley (I didn't agree with how she treated her children but she may be a bit OOC and if so I'm sorry) and of Ginny. If you don't like this then please don't read. I apologise for the slightly shorter chapter. Hope you enjoy!
Chapter 2
As they got off the plane, Harry grinned at his girlfriend who smiled back and he held her hand and squeezed it tightly. They would be going to the ministry today to go to the final part for the custody battle, which involved Harry. Mr Weasley would be taking them so they flooed to the Burrow.
"Harry! Hermione! It's so good to see you," cried Mrs Weasley, hugging them both tightly.
"Good to see you too, Mrs Weasley," Hermione and Harry said politely.
"Ron will be delighted to see you though why you didn't come earlier I don't know. Now, where are your bags?"
"We're not here to stay," Hermione said and Ron then appeared.
"What?" he asked.
"We're not here to stay," Hermione repeated. "We're to wait here until Mr Weasley comes to pick us up to take us to the ministry."
"Why do you need to go to the ministry?" Ron asked, staring at them with his usual clueless expression.
"For the last bit of Sirius gaining custody of Harry," Hermione explained patiently, slightly annoyed Ron didn't know though they had both written to him about it.
"Oh, you should really be more careful on your information Hermione dear," Mrs Weasley said pleasantly, all the Weasley children now in the kitchen.
"Excuse me?" Hermione said, not even bothering to hide her affronted look.
"Sirius isn't gaining custody of Harry, he is attempting to take custody from the Dursley's but Dumbledore placed you with the Dursley's for a reason. Sirius isn't a responsible man, he won't be taking custody of you. If anyone had too, I would, I've brought up seven children myself and they've turned out really well."
It took all of Hermione's might not to scoff at that. Sure Bill and Charlie were fine from what she had seen, but Percy was to tight even by her standards. The pressure he must have stood from Molly was enormous. Fred and George caused chaos and while they could be disrespectful of authority they were at least good people, though it was unlikely to be due to Molly. Ron wasn't perfect, his mum had fostered bad behaviour of jealousy and pettiness. Fred and George had each other but Ron had no one so it was worse for him. And don't even get her started on Ginny. That girl was 14 going onto 15 and had had multiple boyfriends that she enjoyed the broom closets with and from gossip she gathered from Lavender and Parvati apparently the bedroom was fun too. It disgusted her that her mother clearly hadn't taught her any morals. There was a reason the consent law was 16 and over. And the weird mooning after Harry creeped her out.
"What's the problem with Sirius? I'd love him as a dad," Ron said causing his mother to glare at him.
"You're an immature teenager who doesn't know what's good for him," she snapped back, "Dumbledore said the Dursley's are good guardians so shut up."
"But back in our forth year –" Fred started but Mrs Weasley glared at him and said loudly "You two can get your stuff and stay here, we'll prepare the rooms."
"But the ministry –" Harry tried.
"You don't need to go dear," she interrupted.
"Harry is required to go –" Hermione said but was interrupted too.
"And who said that?"
"The ministry wrote saying Sirius wanted Harry there to –"
"There, see! Sirius is using Harry to try and get his case across. He is not the good man you clearly think he is. Now come on," Mrs Weasley said, grabbing onto the two of them, "Let's get you upstairs."
"Mum!" Ron yelled. "Let go of them! They're here for dad, not to stay!"
"Son, what's going on?" Arthur Weasley said as he entered the kitchen through the floo. He then spotted Harry and Hermione. "Ah good, you're here," then he frowned as he noticed Molly holding onto their arms with a tight grip, Harry and Hermione's expressions frantic. All his children apart from Ginny (even Percy) had moved towards their mother, their expression reigning from horror to anger and fury.
"Molly!? What are you doing?!" Arthur cried.
"Just… just showing them were they'll be staying tonight," Molly stammered.
Arthur stared at his domineering wife and his heart sank, knowing perfectly well that was a lie. And once again, he was going to let her get away with it. No, he suddenly decided firmly. He wouldn't stand for it any longer. He had overheard Harry talking to Fred and George on the station about Molly's behaviour to Ron and them, which was bordering on emotional abuse and he wanted to cry. Once Sirius was dealt with, he would come back and deal with Molly. "Right," he said slowly, letting the doubt seep into his voice. "Well, they need to come with me now."
Molly let go of them, glaring at Arthur. "You won't forget what Albus said will you," she snapped, like she was talking to a five year old. "He has helped us so much when you struggle to earn enough money for a pureblood family because of your muggle tinkering."
Arthur went red with a mixture of anger and shame at the jab that it was because of him his family was so poor because he liked muggle things. Before he could say anything though Bill stepped forward, rage evident on his face. "How dare you say that!" he hissed, "Dad works hard to provide for us everyday when you don't work and you have no right to blame him for the corrupt minister and it disgusts me to think you sound like a pureblood like Malfoy, who believes in blood superiority."
"Bill," Arthur said, causing his eldest son to look at him, anger still on his face, "You'll be in charge when I'm gone."
"Excuse me!" Molly screamed, "I can take of this house perfectly fine!"
"But according to your pureblood views," Arthur sneered, "The man is the head of the house and I put Bill who is my heir in charge while I'm gone as I trust him. Why don't you think about why."
He then grabbed the floo powder and pushed Hermione and Harry to the floo and they quickly flooed to the ministry, desperate to escape the Burrow.
