"So," Her eye momentarily darting to him "how was your um day?" She almost winced at her silly question. Here he was recovering from looking like a drowned cat... (dog?) on a nasty day and taking care of her sickly self during his free time. Taking him away from well stuff... or, her eyes cut to him again, people.
There was no response at first before feigning non solace with a casual lift of his shoulder "today was fine."
Kagome turned to him then all mushed hair and red nose and all bringing her hands up for air quotes, "Fine... Yeah sure. By the state I just saw you in and if your day was "fine" then I'm not sick."
He merely looked at her before turning around to grab that tray of food and medicine off her nightstand. "Here take this and then eat. It should help make you feel better."
"Oh, thank you." She gave a smile accepting the offerings. The scent of the soup finally hit her as she brought the first spoonful to her mouth. She could feel it warming her from within. "This is so good! Where did you get it?"
"I..." he looked at her uncertain "made it."
She paused spoon mid-air. Looked down and then back to him, "you did?" He did not look at her but gave a slight nod. "You really didn't have to do all that, I know you was going out of your way already." She saw his jaw clinch. It was subtle but she caught it none the less. "Thank you, truly; it's very very good."
He seemed to relax then. He looked down at his hands then in her direction. "It was something my mother made for me when I was young pup. And Rin seemed to enjoy it so I figured," at that his eye met hers "you would too."
