So for awhile my heart wasn't into writing for my stories. I felt i wasn't putting my all into them and i am sorry. My mindset is sort of back but updates will be slow. But here i am.
Things may get dark in this story. Also this will lead into dino thunder. I am going back to my old roots in this story which is what my mind and heart are telling me to do.
Summary: Things get rough for Kayden Mitchell once the demons are freed. Things get rough when her brother is found out to be alive. When her Father tells her the truth she begins to despise her family. Kayden's feels unwanted when her Father sends her to live with her Aunt when Diabolico returns which causes her to hate him even more. Will she ever forgive her family? Read and find out.
"Kayden Mitchell get up!" A voice was heard above her bed.
"Ugh go away Dad its early." She poked her head out. "Dad its the weekend, why are you waking me?"
"Honey something happened this morning so i want you to get up?"
She looked at her Dad and saw the worry. "What's wrong?"
"Kay the demons are free so you know what i have to do"
"Oh, but Dad you have been preparing for this. It will be okay" She told her Dad with a smile. "Can i go to the park with Cameron today?"
"Yes but if they attack you run got it?"
"Deal" They shook hands. Kayden got up to shower and got ready to meet her best friend Cameron Stewart who were like sisters. She walked down the hallway and noticed her sister walking in with a group of people. "Hi Dana"
"Hey kiddo. Guys this is Kayden, my sister. Kay these are the rangers. Carter, Kelsey, Joel and Chad."
"Hi, Dana can i use your keycard to get out of the base since i can't find mine?"
"Sure where are you going?"
Kayden smiled. "Dad said i could hang out with Cam at the park"
"Are you going up to the lagoon today?" Dana asked her.
"Lagoon?" Kelsey questioned.
"Don't worry about that rught now." Captain Mitchell spoke from behind them. "Dana, Kayden i need a word".
Both girls nodded and followed him to his office. Dana frowned when he went around his desk.
"Father why are their bags on the chair?" Dana asked.
"The moment you girls beagn to get older after the accident i knew i had to protect you both. Dana i raised you to be strong, wise." He began. "Kayden you were just a baby at the time now your growing up." His eues watered.
"Daddy what's wrong?" Kay asked.
"Kayden i am sending you to live with your Aunt Melissa. The demons are out there and i want you as far away from this base as you can be".
"Father!" Dana yelped.
"What?" Kayden felt her heart break. "Dad please don't kick me out. Did i do something wrong?"
"No honey. I just need you safe". He tried..
"But i will be safe here" She begged him.
"Its already done. Your aunt will be here in a few minutes." He told her.
"I hate you!" She yelled as she ran out of the base. Kayden took the lift up to the top and walked out to the rock wall. She sobbed as she sat on the rocka curling her legs into her body. Yes she loced her Aunt Melissa who was her mom's younger sister but the betrayal from her Dad and Sister was crushing her heart.
"Kay" Melissa whispered as she approached her.
Kayden just wiped her eyes and walked to her Aunt's car. She never looked up at her family and the new rangers as they waved her off.
"Mel this is not forever" Captain Mitchell told her. "I just can't lose my baby. After Ryan" He trailed.
"Look i know all about what you did. I am not judging Will and you know i will protect her with all i have just know she is still your daughter who will need her Father"
Melissa got into her car and drove to her home a few blocks over. They pulled up to the red bungalow and went inside. "Kay you know he means well"
"He doesn't love me anymore. Aunt Mel was i a mistake?" He voice bearly audible.
Melissa grabbed her cheeks. "Sweetie why would you say that?"
"No reason" She pulled away from her Aunt. "I have tryouts for basketball do you mind if i go with Cam?"
"Off course just be home by sunset okay?"
"Okay". She gave her Aunt a hug and ran out the front door. Melissa sighed sadly. Melissa was the only one who knew what really happened to her brother but to hear her niece say she was a mistake was another thing.
Kayden walked to the school and waved to her best friend. "Cam!"
"Hey Kay. Kay are you alright?" Cam asked noticing her friend was crying.
"My Dad kicked me out of the base and sent me to live with Aunt Mel."
"He did what?!" Cam yelled in shock.
"He wants me away from the demons. I hate him Cam, i thought he loved me but i guess i was a mistake after all."
"You will always have me". Cam told her with a smile as the girls hugged. "Come on lets get on this team".
One hour later the girls came running outside laighing. "We did it Kay!" Cam yelled throwing her arms in the air.
"I know" Kay replied hanging her head.
"You going to tell them?" Cam asked refering to her family.
Kay felt her heart tighten as she held her jersey. "No, they wanted me gone so i have no place to share. Look i better head back to my aunt's see you tomorrow?"
Cam nodded as she got on her bike.
Kay smiled sadly as her friend went home. She turned to see Carter standing there by the rover. She sighed and walked over to him. "What do you want?"
Carter shrugged."Just wanted to see how you were doing?"
"Look Carter i know you mean well but your wasting your time. I don't know you and you don't know me so please just leave me alone". Kay barked as she just walked away from him.
Later that night Kayden found herself laying on her bed as her mind couldn't slow down.
"Sweetheart i have some popcorn for a movie" Melissa announced from her door.
"No thanks" Kay replied. "I just want to be alone".
Melissa sighed sadly as she watched her niece turn her back to the door. Melissa knew she was just a teeanger and how hard this was hurting her. Meiissa left the room wiping a tear away. She wanted so bad to tell her about what Will did to save his son but this wasn't her place.
Back at the base Dana was sitting at the edge of the dock at the lagoon as two orcas swam around.
"They are huge" Carter spoke as he sat down. "I can't believe they are here"
Dana smiled as he sat next to her. "Yeah Kayden worked at the aquarium with Chad for a little whie. They released the two of the whales but they stuck around. The girls love them so much."
Carter nodded as they swam around. "Dana are you alright?"
"No. I mean i know my Dad is strict but i never expected this." Dana wiped a tear. "I guess after what happened after the accident and since losing our brother he just wants her safe."
"You don't sound so sure?"
Dana looked at him. "Carter, Kayden has been around rangers before. Tommy Oliver is one of the best in Angel Grove. My mother and his mother were the best of friends so they treated Kay like family. She was always safe with him around. I don't understand what has changed"
Carter could hear the frustration and sadness in her voice. "Why not ask him?"
"Believe me i have tried". She whisoered. "Hey girl" Dana said with a smile as Crescent popped her head up. "I miss her to".
The two of them just sat there as night closed in.
Back at Melissa's Kayden laid in her bed stairing at the cieling. Melissa walked in with a light smile.
"Its going to be alright Kay, your Dad just wants you safe"
"I know, but Aunt Mel he formed the rangers to keep me safe so i don't understand why he sent me away"
Melissa kissed her forehead. "Just give him time. Look get some sleep alright".
Kay nodded and curled into her blankets.
Ar the base everything went quiet. A figure emerged from the pool of water. He climbed out and walked down the hall to an office. As he entered he went to the desk to get the key.
He opened the safe removing the morpher. His eyes wandering to the desk and to a picture. As he picked it up his anger along with sadness rose to the surface. He quickly went to the pool and swimming out of the back with the titanium morpher in his hands.
