The rest of her afternoon passed in a blur, more packing and reminiscing about old times with her friends as she found gifts and photos from her class family. Uraraka wondered if they would all stay close after graduating. Many already had new jobs lined up with different agencies around the country, a couple even had offers for agencies outside of Japan. As for herself, she would be accepting a position with the Ryukyu agency as it was near to her parents and a great opportunity for her to advance her skills in a familiar area. She placed the last of her non-essential belongings in a bin and shut the lid on it, breathing out a sigh of relief. As she wiped stray hairs from her forehead, she poked her phone with the other hand to glance at the time, just past seven thirty. A hearty dinner was well in order for her.
She grabbed a sweatshirt and pulled it over her head before scooping up her phone and slipping on her shoes. Her hand brushed up against the sweets box that Bakugo had left behind. It looked like a variety box that you could get at the corner store, but it was abnormal for him to eat any sweets, they were probably for her. Sighing and slumping her shoulders down she felt a bit of guilt wash over her. He seemed like he was apologizing earlier, maybe she shouldn't have been so hard on him. After all she never told him no and they were both wasted, and he was acting remorseful. It would need to be talked about more later and she was determined to fix things between her and Bakugo.
On autopilot, she walked down the hall and rode the elevator down to the common room while looking at messages on her phone. There were quite a few missed messages from Deku, Tsu, Mina, Ida, and Momo all saying virtually the same thing, that everyone was going out to dinner and trying to check in with her to see if she wanted to join. The last one from her froggy friend stated that she wouldn't push her to go out if she still wasn't feeling up to it and she would keep the others from bothering her too much. Tsu was such a considerate and caring friend.
The soft ding signaled her that the elevator had come to her stop and she began waltzing towards the kitchen still occupied with her phone. It wasn't until she heard the tell-tale sound of a can opening that she realized she wasn't alone. Peaking up from her phone she saw a spiky blond head sitting on the couch facing away from her. "Oh, Bakugo I didn't see you. Why didn't you go out with the others?" she asked innocently.
He was silent for a moment before spitting back his response, "didn't want to".
Ochako winced at the venom dripping from his words. Silence hung between the two like a thick fog, pregnant with awkwardness. Uraraka shifted back and forth on her feet trying to find the right words, eventually for some reason settling on blurting out "Do you want to go get something to eat with me?"
"Tch, no" he responded bluntly, still not turning back to her. She fiddled with her own fingers and bit at her lip for a moment trying to figure out how to smooth things over.
"Bakugo, I'm sorry for how I responded earlier. I was still upset, and I know you were just trying to apologize-"
"Forget it." he interrupted before taking a swig of his drink.
"Excuse me?" she responded without thinking.
"For-get it." he repeated, enunciating every syllable. Uraraka's cheeks burned red. She knew that he was a hot head, that he was hard to get along with, but something about his refusal to even hear her apology pushed her buttons.
Her feet began to move without telling them to and she began to spew at him. "You need to drop your stupid 'holier than thou' act Bakugo. I'm trying to apologize to you and all you can say to me is less than three words at a time and they are all some form of dismissal like you couldn't care less if I fell off the face of the Earth. Well I've had it!" she snapped as she stamped her way in front of him. His eyes never wavered from staring straight forward with his face stuck in a grimace, completely ignoring her every move and word. He sipped at his drink and his lack of acknowledgement boiled her blood. "Bakugo! Are you even listening to me?" she shouted while waving her arms back and forth in front of him. His lip curled up slightly indicating his thinning patience. "Stop being such a jerk and talk to me!" she chastised as she threw her hands on her hips.
"OR WHAT!?" He screamed at her as he suddenly lurched out of his seat to tower in front of her. He was nearly a head taller than her and his fiery eyes glared down at her from only a few inches away. Uraraka's face betrayed her and all angry expression was replaced by the surprise she felt. She stood her ground and quickly brought back her scowl. Both of their chests heaved with heavy breaths as adrenaline rushed through their bodies. Neither of them wanted to be the first to break eye contact. A single strand of hair fell into Uraraka's eyes and Bakugo's eyes followed it, staring intensely like he could slice it clean off with just a gaze. He made a tsk noise before turning and walking away and tossing his drink away.
"Bakugo" Uraraka said with annoyance in her voice as she jogged after him and grabbed onto his wrist. In a blur he spun around and pushed her up against a nearby wall pinning the hand he had next to her face and slamming the other palm on the opposite side of her head.
"You said to forget it." he spoke in a low and angry tone, his breath hot on her face. "So I will. I'm going to forget this entire ordeal and I'm going to forget you. Get off my fucking case, and stay off."
Butterflies flitted around her stomach like they were lit on fire. The scent of burnt sugar filled her nose and she could feel the heat radiating off him. "Is that why you're so angry?" she asked in a hushed voice. "Because I wanted to brush last night under the rug?"
"Give the girl a fucking prize." He snarked.
"It was a mistake, we were drunk and it didn't mean anything. I just didn't want it to get between our friendship." She breathed out. Her brow furrowed with her words as she tried to pierce through him with her gaze, hoping that would be enough to get through to him.
He stared at her for a few seconds before stooping down and capturing her lips with his own in a searing kiss. Her eyes fluttered closed and her body responded for her accepting his advance, a heat beginning to pool in her core. Suddenly, all at once his presence was gone. He had pushed off her and turned away. "I don't make mistakes, and we were never friends." He said before shoving his hands in his pockets and walking away towards the elevators.
Her body felt cold in his absence, she laid in her same position against the wall with her mind spinning. She wanted more, she craved the intimacy, but why she just couldn't understand. What had he meant by 'they weren't friends'? Of course, she wasn't close with him like Kirishima was, but they were always on decent enough terms with each other. They had at least a mutual respect, and he didn't think their night together was a mistake? Thoughts and feelings swarmed her as she looked all around the room for anything that might magically reveal how it all made sense. She let out the breath she didn't know she was holding and slumped slightly against the wall. It didn't make sense whatsoever.
Her stomach growled interrupting her thoughts. With a huff she pushed herself from her spot and meandered into the kitchen back on her original quest she came down here for. Uraraka's thoughts were only half on her task though and half on what Bakugo's words meant.
After feeding herself she decided to retire early for the evening. She performed her nightly routine and crawled into her sheets, breathing them in deeply for this would be one of the last times she would ever rest in them. Eyes fluttered shut but her mind was still racing, there was so much changing and so much to look forward too and so much that was getting left behind. To top it all off was whatever the deal was with Bakugo right now. Her thoughts drifted further from her future and her highschool memories to dancing dangerously with the explosive boy. Its not that she found him unattractive, quite the opposite. Years of brutal physical training had given him an incredible toned physique that many fan girls already had posters drenched in drool of. His shoulders had broadened to fit and his over all features had become sharper and more angular. Personality wise he had improved greatly as well; less boorish and standoffish, his abrasiveness had settled to a scowl and cold shoulder instead of death threats and egotistical remarks about being better than everyone else. This was actually the most like his old self he has been in a while, she thought to herself.
Uraraka turned over and resettled in her blankets letting her thoughts drift back to his attractive features. She pictured his muscles moving under his skin as he trained, taught and firm. That devilish side smirk of his that made his eyes sparkle with mischief. How defined his pectorals were complimented by his abs as they trailed down to the elegant sloping lines of his pelvis and down even further…
Her eyes snapped open as she realized a familiar wetness beginning to form between her legs and caught herself lusting over 3-A's bad boy. She scoffed at herself and flopped around to a new position trying to shake those thoughts from her head. The last thing she needed was to be thinking about her friend like that. Methodically she began making a list in her head of things left to do before graduation day and she dozed off lightly, just before falling asleep though she began to think about large strong hands holding her tight, and how it felt to be pressed up against such a perfect body, how she ached for his touch when he pushed her up against the wall and wanted him to touch her more. She pictured how it would have felt had he stuck out his tongue and licked from her exposed collar bone, up the nape of her neck, under the jaw, and up to the ear lobe before giving it a light nibble…
Her eyes snapped open again as she clamped her legs together trying to stifle her excitement. Groaning audibly, she thrashed around into a new position and started her process of trying to fall asleep again. It was going to be a long night for Ochako.
