Here's what you've all been waiting for, the first part of the Edolas arc. I'll do my best.
Chp 11: Not In Magnolia
On the beach right behind the fairy hills dorms Erza was with Zodie and Wendy training them in tai chi; the mighty titania has been training the young wizards each morning bright and early. She mainly focused on Wendy due to her lack of fighting prowess. Zodie didn't really mind the training but he couldn't handle getting up early. "Alright you two that concludes today's lesson you're free for the rest of the day." Erza had left, going back to her dorm room.
"That was pretty pretty invigorating don't you think?" Wendy asked.
"I can take the workout but I actually like sleeping in, that's how I get my energy." Suddenly his stomach growled. "Speaking of energy I could go for some breakfast right about now."
Wendy giggled. "I'll meet you at the guild hall then." With that Zodie sprouted his wings and flew off.
Now at the guild hall Zodie Wendy and Carla met up with everyone else, the phoenix slayer and salamander challenged each other to see who could eat the most. Wendy watched in amusement Carla sipped her tea.
"Boy you three are really looking right at home." Said Lucy.
"Lucy I gotta ask how come you don't stay at the girls dorm?" Asked Wendy.
"Oh I didn't know about it until after I got my place plus it's way too expensive."
"HE'S BACK!" The group turns to see Max and Warren barging through the doors. Bells began sounding off.
"What…who's back, are we under attack!?" Asked Zodie in panic.
Erza laid her hand on the boy's shoulder. "No not to worry the whole town is rejoicing for the return of Gildarts."
"Who's that?" Lucy and Wendy asked in unison.
"He's fairy tails strongest wizard." Mira smiled. This set them back. "Wow, even stronger than Erza." Asked Lucy.
"Let's just say that I can't hold a candle to him, if i'm being modest." This really surprised Zodie if Erza's saying that then this guy must be more of a monster then her; he heard from Gray Natsu and Happy saying Erza's strength was that of a monster, they weren't exaxerating.
"So where's he been all this time, has he been on sabbatical or something?" Asked Wendy.
"Oh no he's been away on a mission." Answered Mira.
"Like one of those elite s-class jobs?" Zodie Asked.
"Something like that." Mira nodded. "See as you know there's a quest above s-class level known as ss-class quest, above those are called one year and ten year quest."
Lucy sweated. "Wow, ten years." Erza folded her arms. "They get their names because it takes a wizard ten years to finish them." The red head grew a smirk on her face.
"Given his power I'll bet he finished it four years earlier." Said Zodie.
"Not quite." Mira smiled. "See the quest Gildarts took is more difficult than that, he took on what's known as a hundred year quest."
"NO WAY!" Wendy Zodie and Lucy said in unison. The phoenix slayer was pretty curious to meet him now.
Attention Gildarts shift will now commence, this is not a drill.
"A Gildarts shift?" Asked Carla.
"Step outside and you'll understand." Instructed Erza. The three moved to the front entrance only to do a spit take as the whole town was rearanged in a linear path. It was like a puzzle moving for a single line which led to the guild entrance. "Holy crap this seems a bit excessive."
Mira walked up to them. "Oh it's necessary, it's because of his crush magic."
"Crush magic?" Asked Wendy."
"Basically it turns anything he touches into tiny bits literally." Mira shrugged with a chuckle. "If he's not paying attention he'll end up walking through someone's house."
"I take it back, this is necessary, we wouldn't want him walking in on someone who isn't decent." Wendy, Lucy and Mira all laugh at his joke. Finally waiting in anticipation everyone gathers at the guild entrance waiting for Gildarts to arrive. Once he stepped inside he looked around surveying the area then let out a sigh. Natsu tried to challenge him but was knocked unconscious by Erza.
He then spotted Mira and made his way up to her. "Welcome back Gildarts."
"Oh Hi miss sorry to bug you but there used to be buildings around here called Fairy tail." She nodded. "This is it, remember me I'm Mira." He took a good look at her then his face lit up and did a double take. "M…Mira holy cow you've grown up a lot kiddo. And did you do something different with the guild hall too."
"How'd he not see that outside?" Lucy said as his sweat dropped. Natsu finally woke up. "You Gildarts!"
"Oh Natsu, I'd recognize that energy and that hair from anywhere." The fire dragon grinned before he launched himself to attack the s-class mage. However Gildarts merlery grabbed him and threw him so hard into the ceiling he got stuck. "Not now kid."
Zodie flew up and helped get Natsu down. "Bro, have you ever heard the rule to look before leap." Gildarts took a moment to look at the phoenix slayer. "Wow, a new member and he's flying around like Happy man. A lot has changed since I've been gone." Makarov then got the crush mage his attention. "Oh master, good to see you."
"So how'd the job go?" Makarov asked.
The ace of the guild let out a hearty laugh for a couple seconds. "Hah sorry to say this but it was way too much for me."
Everyone gasped at this to hear the ace mage of fairy tail say he failed to complete a mission, Makarov sighed in response. "Well as long as you made it back in one piece, the job you took most are not so lucky."
"Well then my weary bones need a rest so I'm gonna head home." He made his way to leave. "Oh Natsu, stop by later. I brought something for ya." He made his way towards a wall and it literally broke apart. "Hey we have a door you know." Gasped Warren.
Natsu draped his arm around Zodie. "Come on Z you'll see what a cool guy he is." Natsu then made his own hole in the wall and brought the phoenix slayer with him. "Are the concepts of doors oblivious to you people!" Whined Warren.

Minutes later the trio finally arrived. Natsu opened the door and Gildarts was expecting them. "Oh you brought a guest, the dark winged kid from earlier."
"H…Hi im Zodie… Zodie Mcknight nice to meet you Gildarts sir." The crush mage let out a soft chuckle. "Hey no need to be formal, Gildarts is just fine."
"Yeah the kid is pretty rad he's like the little brother i've never had." Said Natsu.
"Now I gotta ask you and Lisanna a thing?" As he said those words Natsu's demeanor changed as well as Happy and Zodie's mood dampened. "Ooh you sly dog are you nervous, hey your secret is safe with me."
"Lisana died two years ago." Gildarts face went into shock. "Oh oh I see no wonder Mira." He then began to look down in sadness and regret for asking Natsu.
"If that's all you wanted to discuss, I'm out." As the fire dragon turned to the left Gildarts stopped him. "Before you go I thought you should know that I met a dragon."
"But it's not the one your looking for it was black with eyes of a savage."
Natsu stepped up. "Where is it!" " It's long gone now, kid flying off in the blue yonder." Then I can track it. I got the nose for it!"
"Natsu look at me." He removed his cloak to reveal his injuries. Both boys, including Happy, gasped. "It happened to take my arm and leg and then it gutted me, I was lucky I didn't die right then and there." "From what you told me Igneel is a peaceful but this black one is the complete opposite, it's more like a demon." This brought chills down Zodie's spine. He had heard stories about dragons, some good and some bad; the good ones were like the ones that raised Wendy.
Natsu grumbled before turning around and running. Zodie and Happy go after him. "Hey kid." Zodie stopped to look back. "You and Natsu look like your pretty close watch over him for me will ya, he's gonna need it." Zodie nodded and left running after him.
Next day was rather gloomy and cloudy as harsh rain entered magnolia, because of that many members of the guild were cooped up at the guild and not going on any jobs. Zodie sat at a table reading one of the many books he picked up from the library. Levy had then walked up to him. "Hey Z so how's the book I recommended you?"
"It's great I cant put it down i'm already at the quarter of the story, I can't believe the protagonist would eat a fruit that would take away his ability to swim." (YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT). As he read he heard a commotion not too far from the table, the phoenix child looked up to see Carla walking out of the guild hall and Happy looking rather disheartened. He made his way over towards Lucy while Wendy ran after Carla.
"What just happened, Carla giving Happy the cold shoulder again?" He asked.
Lucy nodded. "Yeah I'm not sure why she's always mean to poor Happy here." She began to comfort the blue feline by patting his head.
"Wendy and I have known her our whole lives and we still can't understand her, anyway I better go after them." Zodie raced out into the rain after Wendy.
As Carla kept walking Wendy caught up to her. "There you are." The white feline looked back to see her partner. "Child you should not be out here you'll catch a cold."
"Yeah well so will you." The sky maiden gave Carla a frown. "We're in a new guild to stay and make some friends. It wouldn't kill you to be nice to them, especially for all they've done."
"You know she's right Carla." The girls looked behind them to see Zodie coming up. "I mean, what's your problem with Happy?'
"I don't see the need for it as long as i'm with you two it's more than enough." The trio then looked to see a figure approaching them, Zodie took up a defensive stance. The figure wore a dark blue cloak and his legs were covered in bandages, he had a blue bandana over his face with multiple staffs behind his back.
"Who're you?" Zodie asked.
"Wendy, it's good to see you again." The man's voice seemed so familiar to Wendy. He then removed his mask revealing his face. The trio were stunned.
"J…Jellal." Cried Wendy.
"Impossible you were taken into custody, did you escape or something?" Inquired Carla.
"Not everything is what it appears to be, the man you saw being arrested was in fact Jellal. However, I'm Mystogan, a wizard of fairy tail. Twas I who you traveled with seven years ago."
"So you're like his twin brother or something?" Zodei asked.
"S…so you're the one I remember, you're the one I looked up to as a brother." She grew teary eyes. "I was afraid you had forgotten me."
Jellall then grunted before he fell to the ground to his knee. "Oh no, are you okay, I can heal you." Jellal stopped her. "There's no time… you all need to leave right away!"
"Why what's gonna happen?" Jellal looked up groggily at Zodie. "It's the anima it's coming!" A jolt of memorization hit Wendy; she had heard that name before. "Everyone and everything will be wiped out, you need to leave now it's already started with your guild." Zodie used his keen eyes to look towards the guild; he saw clouds swirling above the guildhall.
"Girls he's telling the truth, somethings going on at the guild I think they're in trouble."
"Zodie you have to get there and warn everyone, you can fly so you'll make it here faster."
"Wait!" Mystogan halted Zodie. The blue haired man pulled out a vial of red spheres like pills. "Take these, they'll protect you." He gave both kids one and they took them without asking what they were. The phoenix slayer nodded and flew off towards the guild as fast as he could. Suddenly the environment around him began to disintegrate and sucked up into the sky in the form of a tornado. Zodie unfortunately was swept up in the tornado and was sent flying far before falling unconscious.

"Zodie,Zode e wake up." The phoenix slayer soon came to as he was shaken awake, he looked up and saw Natsu and Wendy standing over him. "You're okay, I'm so glad." Wendy threw her arms around her friend and hugged him tight.
"What's going on what happened to magnolia was this because of that anima stuff mystogan was talking about?"
"You saw Mystogan?" Asked Natsu.
"We did this" is what he talked about. That giant portal in the sky was the anima that took everyone away." The sky maiden then got a thought. "How come we weren't sucked in is it because we're dragon slayers?"
"Yes, that is exactly why." The group turns to see Carla.
"Carla you're here to,"
"You being dragon slayers is the reason you're still here unlike the others, not that I care or anything!"
"Carla."
"And what about me, how come I wasn't sucked in?" Zodie asked.
"That I'm not sure, perhaps it's due to your phoenix slayer magic." Zodie noticed a look in Carla's eye's. "Carla, do you know something about this whole anima ordeal?"
The white feline nodded. "I do, that hole in the sky is actually a gateway to Edolas that is where everyone and magic related was taken."
"Edolas?" Asked Wendy.
"What exactly is it?" Natsu asked.
Carla nodded. "Indeed, a world that's losing its magic power."
"Hey finally I found you guys." The group looks behind them to see Happy coming over. "Hey what's up Happs you're ok."
"Carla, how come you know so much about it?" Wendy asked.
She let out a heavy sigh. "I know this because it's the world me and the tom cat hail from." They were surprised by this. "Not only that but we are indirectly to blame for this."
"Losing magic, that's why we were targeted specifically, our guild has a lot of wizards with magic power?" Asked Zodie.
"Indeed unlike in Edolas our world has a finite amount of magic." Said Carla.
"Wait, what do you mean you and Happy are indirectly responsible?" Asked Natsu.
"The king entrusted both me and the tom cat with a secret mission." This was all shocking to Happy.
"That makes no sense, you were hatched here on earthland, and Wendy saw it ourselves and I can only assume Natsu did the same with Happy." Stated Zodie.
"Indeed I know but honestly I've never set foot in edolas." Everyone was shocked. "Instead I was blueprinted of the mission from a spell placed on me, however tom cat here seems completely ignorant to it!"
"Hey that's my little buddy your talking about you!"
"So then it looks like this is a rescue mission, we have to get to Edolas and save everyone." Said Zodie.
Carla nodded. "Indeed." She then grabbed a hold of Wendy and Happy did the same while Zodie sprouted wings. "Alright let's go." Everybody took off into the sky gaining speed Wendy and Natsu could feel the pressure but natural flyers like Zodie Happy and Carla were used to it. They were then consumed in a bright light flash and were gone.
Finally opening their eyes the group witnessed their new surroundings as they were in Edolas. There were floating islands all over with their own distinct shape, and the sky was dull and yellow.
"So this is Edolas, not what I was expecting. It's actually really nice here." Said Zodie.
"So many strange trees, plants, and animals." Wendy added with delight. "Oh mama I can only imagine how the fishies here taste, the flavor is probably out of this world."
Zodie began to chuckle. "Good one Happy."
"Focus people were not here for the exhibition." Carla got everyone's attention.
"Hey Carla earlier before you said something about having a secret mission, what was it exactly?" Wendy asked. This got everyone else's attention.
"I…am afraid I can't tell you." She spoke casually. "Oh come on quick holding out on us cat." Whined Natsu.
"I said I can't tell now just drop i-" Suddenly Happy and Carla's aera magic stopped working as their wings disappeared. Both them along with Wendy and Happy began to plummet however Zodie was still able to fly and immediately flew down to grab Wendy but couldn't get to the others in time. The three fell from a large mushroom before landing on their stomachs. Zodie safely landed while holding Wendy bridal style.
"The hell was that?" Asked Natsu.
"Magic is limited here, remember what I told you." Carla said.
"But how come Zodie wasn't affected?" Asked Happy.
Wendy began to ponder something after she was set down by Zodie she breathed in some air. "Sky dragon roooooar." She blasted out a stream of air.
"Wait you too Wendy." Happy asked in shock.
Natsu rose to his feet. "Let me try something." He tried to ignite his fist but nothing happened. "The hell, how come you two have magic but I don't?"
"It was probably those pill things mystogan gave us." Zodie said.
"Meaning if we run into trouble it'll be up to you guys to get us out." Happy said.
"For once I agree with the tom cat." Carla said. "Now then as we trek through here we'll need to blend here."
"And how do we do that?" Asked Natsu.
"Hey, maybe there's something in that house over there." Happy points. The group look and see a house made of a pumpkin. They took Happy up on that idea and made their way over to it. The door was open and there were a bunch of clothes to choose from. Natsu wore a red hooded cloak with a blue green robe, along with gray pants and of course with his signature scarf.
Zodie's outfit was a teal poncho with a hoodie that had brown and gray patterns on them with gray pants and red sandals, he even added a pair of sunglasses just to look cool.
"What do you guys think of this?" Wendy came out from a corner and Zodie was stunned. Wendy now wore her hair in pigtails with hair clips. She had a long red sleeved top with two buttons in the center, finally she had a frill navy blue skirt with thigh high black socks and dress shoes. The sky maiden caught Zodie's gaze and she looked away timidly. Natsu began to poke fun at Zodie and lightly nudged her with his shoulder. "Yeah bro how does she look?"
"S…shut up Natsu!"
Then Happy walked out wearing a metallic mask and green cloak while Carla had on an outfit you'd see a female genie wearing.
"Ok now well blend in better, hopefully the locals can help us find-."
"Fairy tail." Said Natsu.
"Yeah, our friends in fairy-." Zodie is then interrupted. "No bro, look fairy tail." The group looked out a nearby window and sure enough it was the fairy tail building with its trademark symbol. The group rushed to the front door but as soon as they did they were all met with a pitfall. Zodie was able to react in time and sprouted his wings and flew out.
"Wow hey you guys alright?" Zodie asked.
"Yeah we're fine." Wendy suddenly saw a figure heading right for Zodie. "Zodie look out." The phoenix slayer looked behind him and was merely able to avoid a punch from behind before he grabbed the person's arm and tossed her. The stranger wore a skin tight dark suit with a large erect collar and brown boots with a mask covering her face.
The stranger ran at Zodie with a series of punches which he blocked and parried before performing a leg sweep making the attacker jump back. Zodie then turned invisible, throwing off the attacker before they were hit with a powerful uppercut knocking off her mask and sending her to fall on her back. This commotion forced the door to fly open and a bunch of the residents came charging out. "What's on out here, who set off the trap?" Natsu Wendy and the cats managed to get themselves out and ran over to Zodie.
"Z you okay bro?"
"Yeah I'm fine."
The stranger got back up for the group to see their face, it was a female but a one they've all seen before. "No way." Said Happy.
"LUCY."
And I think i'll stop right here so yeah here it is the edolas arc, it's what you've all been waiting for thank you yogaratw607 for the great ideas you have. Til next time peace.
