"Where the hell is everyone?"
Bonnie heard Damon ask when they noticed the streets devoid of people and the sight of old-fashioned cars lining next to the sidewalks.
It looked like they had just stepped into the past.
Like Literally.
"Good question, Damon, but we also need to figure out as to when? This doesn't look like we are in the 21st Century anymore," Stefan pointed out towards the abandoned cars on the street. "Look at the model of those cars. I think I've seen those cars around in the 1990's."
"Bonnie, did your grandmother say anything about this place at all? Like before she dumped us here?" Tyler asked her as the four of them continued to walk in the middle of the road.
"No, she didn't." She replied. "If she did, I missed it since I was busy listening to the sounds of you men screaming like a bunch of girls when you were dragged into the tunnel of light with me."
"We weren't screaming!" was Damon's immediate protest.
Bonnie rolled her eyes at him and said, "But I heard you all. I think I remember one or two of you were even calling their mother at one point."
Even though she sounded like she was joking, inwardly Bonnie was concerned about their entire situation.
In fact, she was more than concerned. She was sick with worry that she could practically feel her insides twisting into tight knots while she could sense the wrongness in the air.
She knew that this entire world isn't quite what it seemed.
So she tried to lighten the mood and diffuse the growing uneasiness amongst them with a poorly delivered jest, which Damon was more than ready to add his piece.
"You heard someone calling for their Mommy? It was probably Tyler. He's a mama's boy." Damon replied, smirking in Tyler's direction.
It was a tasteless joke, which Tyler definitely did not take well too.
And Bonnie didn't either.
In a span of one breath, Tyler growled and launched himself at the eldest Salvatore brother.
This time Stefan did not move to stop him. In fact, Stefan looked more exasperated at his older brother's behavior more than anything that it left Bonnie to make a snap decision.
Increasingly tired of the men's fighting, Bonnie couldn't help but try to intercept Tyler before he could hit Damon.
A mistake on her part.
Tyler had moved so swiftly that he did not lose his momentum when Bonnie put herself between the two men.
Meanwhile, Damon had not moved from his spot. Hence, when Tyler came barreling forward in all his fury, the werewolf ended up tackling Bonnie down and it simply dominoed from there.
Once more, Bonnie found herself in a tangled mess of limbs and pressed body parts.
Bonnie Bennett ended up a sandwich between a werewolf and a vampire.
This was certainly not her day at all.
"You know Bonbon, if you really want to have a threesome, all you have to do is ask and I'm more than willing to make an exception for you, since you are Elena's friend," came Damon's drawl next to her ear and Bonnie felt her pulse quickened at Damon's proximity and his suggestion.
"I am sure even Tyler wouldn't mind to join in the fun," the vampire added and Bonnie's face flushed scarlet.
The blush on her face only deepened when her eyes darted to meet Tyler's dark brown eyes.
The werewolf was still plastered on top of her like a heavy, hot blanket where Bonnie could feel the heat and the hard planes of his masculine body against her.
Fortunately, she now had something to focus on.
After hearing Damon's suggestion, her ire rose up. It simmered beneath her skin and was about ready to erupt like a volcano.
Tyler must have sensed her rising fury because she had never seen him scramble off her so swiftly.
Obviously, he did not want to go between her and the target of her wrath.
It didn't take long before Bonnie was ready to rain hellfire at the person who pissed her off.
"Oh, just shut up Damon!" she burst out while she quickly rolled off the blue-eyed asshole.
"Just admit it Bonbon," Damon said as he stood up from the ground and smirked in Bonnie's direction. "You are itching for a threesome."
"Gods, what is wrong with you?" She snapped at him, her eyes flashing like a bottle of green poison. "Can't you just stand there and pretend to be useful for one minute without provoking everyone? Even a fire hydrant is far more useful than you and your goddamn mouth!"
She observed as the dark scowl appeared on Damon's face.
"A fire hydrant is more useful than me? Bonnie, a fire hydrant is also where dogs take a piss in case you don't know that," was Damon's retort. "And I am definitely not going to let you compare me to a -"
"That's enough Damon!" Stefan finally intervened just as Tyler called out, "Hey guys! Take a look at this!"
There was a note of shock and alarm in Tyler's voice that all of them looked at him.
Bonnie approached Tyler who was looking at what looked to be a newspaper. She peered over his shoulder to see what the interest was all about and when she saw the date there, she all but blanched.
"The Originals are going to be pissed the moment they realize that we aren't back in the real world." Stefan stated grimly as he too gazed down at the newspaper over Tyler's shoulder.
MAY 10, 1994.
It said on the newspaper.
"Great! Just bloody great!" Kol muttered angrily as he looked at the newspaper over Elijah's shoulder. "Where the hell did that witch take us?"
"To the past apparently," was Elijah's wry response while he stared at the date printed on the old newspaper.
"That goddamn witch!" Klaus growled.
"Let's not jump to conclusions just yet brother. We have to consider that the Bennett witch might have not done this to us on purpose," Elijah reasoned. "Let's give her the benefit of a doubt."
"You know what we needed to do? I think we need to find them before they leave us stuck in this place," Kol said hurriedly.
"I agree with Kol. We need to look for them before they can think about leaving us here." Klaus stated.
"Let's catch them unawares.' Kol suggested next to the others. "We'll take Bonnie Bennett from them and use her to get back to the real world. I'm certain that she has a way of getting us out of here."
"Then, let us go and hurry before they can make use of the witch again," Elijah replied.
Afterward, the three zipped away in search of the Bennett witch.
They arrived soon outside the Salvatore House and Klaus didn't hesitate before making their presence known.
"Come out, come out wherever you are, you bunch of imbeciles!" Klaus called out as they walked towards the front door.
"Leave the Bennett witch from your collective insult, Klaus. Bonnie is not an imbecile," Elijah stated.
"I completely agree. That witch is smarter than she looks," Kol said.
"If you must know, I wasn't including the Bennett witch in that insult at all." Klaus replied.
"And I believe it is unwise for us to easily give our position like this. We must conduct ourselves quietly while we hunt them down brother." Elijah advised.
"It's far too late for that. They must have heard Klaus hollering for them by now." Kol said. "We lost our advantage. No thanks to our dear brother."
"I don't even believe they are inside the house, Elijah," Klaus said, "I can't hear any noises inside."
"They must have gone elsewhere then," Elijah said as they opened the door and quickly zoomed around the house to check it.
They soon found out that the house was empty.
"They must have gone to the Lockwood Mansion," Kol concluded as the three met again in the living room.
"Let's look for them there then. However, no more shouting our locations when we approach them. We need to take them unawares and get the witch." Elijah said.
"Fine," Klaus remarked.
"Then, let's make haste before they realize that we are looking for them." Kol said as they moved once again.
"We need to make a plan. I am certain that the Originals are going to take Bonnie from us the moment they realize that they are not in the real world." Stefan stated.
"But is it wise for us to come here in the first place brother? For sure that they are going to look for us here once they realize that we are not at the boarding house," Damon stated.
"Then, where else do you suggest we lay low for a while?" Stefan asked.
"Just not here. Perhaps somewhere they won't suspect, like one of the houses in the town square." Damon suggested.
"It's already far too late for that. They are probably on their way here." Tyler said as he looked out the window.
"Where is Bonnie?" Damon suddenly asked, looking around.
"She said she wanted to check if this place is well-stocked so she went to the kitchen in search of food and other supplies." Stefan replied.
"Why did she tell only you and not me and Tyler?" Damon said.
"Because she is still angry at you two for acting irrational earlier. I can see her reason for that. We don't have time for infighting among us, especially when we are still in a precarious situation. So I hope you two will stop and think before you start a fight again."
"If you say so Stefan," Damon stated, rolling his eyes. "Now, let's go ahead and look for Bonnie before the Originals snatched her up from beneath our noses."
The three then moved towards the kitchen area in search of Bonnie.
"Where are you at Bonnie?" Damon called out as the three of them entered the kitchen but couldn't find the Bennett witch there.
"Bonnie?" Stefan said out loud as they looked around.
When there was no response, the three glanced at each other in rising alarm. With growing concern, both Damon and Stefan used their vampire speed to search the house quickly while Tyler checked the other rooms at his own pace.
It was Stefan who finally found Bonnie in the library. The young Salvatore brother was immensely relieved to see the witch still there and said, "There you are Bonnie. We were looking all over for you. What are you doing here?"
"I'm trying to find some books that might help with our situation, but I believe we might be able to find more at my grandmother's house." Bonnie responded.
"Perhaps we should go there next before the Originals catch wind of our whereabouts," Stefan suggested.
Bonnie would have said more if not for the loud sound they heard coming from downstairs.
CRASH!
Immediately, Stefan and Bonnie looked at each other in dismay.
"It looks like they are already here," Bonnie said as the two of them hurried out of the library and towards where they could hear the sound of fighting.
They hadn't even arrived at the first floor when the two were intercepted by Elijah Mikaelson.
The two halted at the flight of stairs as they looked at the Original in front of them.
"Give the witch to us Stefan and I swear no harm shall befall you and your companions," Elijah said as he stood at the foot of the stairs.
"Why do you need Bonnie for?" Stefan asked as he moved to stand in front of Bonnie protectively.
"We need her to get out of here Stefan like you and your companions were planning to do," Elijah replied.
"Bonnie no longer has the means to get back to the real world because she lost her powers as a witch. I don't think she will be useful to you even if you take her from us. So we are stuck here as much as you are Elijah," Stefan informed the Original.
"I don't believe you, Stefan. The Bennett witch must know of a way to get back to the real world. So kindly hand her over to us and I will not harm you and your companions." Elijah said as he looked up at them.
Bonnie paled. She didn't want the others to be killed by the Originals so she said without hesitation.
"Elijah, Stefan is telling you the truth. I don't have the powers of a witch anymore, but I can still help with finding a way out of here by searching through my grandmother's books. However, I am not going to come with you and leave Stefan and the others. So I am offering you a peace treaty between us. The more of us work together in our search for a way out, the higher chance we can swiftly get out of this place alive. And I promised that no one will be left behind once we find a way out. So please accept the offer. I don't want anyone else to get hurt." She reasoned with him.
She observed as the eldest Mikaelson brother considered her offer for a moment, where he regarded her intensely with his dark brown eyes. Bonnie inwardly hoped that the Original would accept her offer because she didn't know how the others would survive with another fight with the three Originals in this place.
"How would I know that your companions will not betray us?" Elijah asked.
"Stefan and I will keep the others in line. Just please trust our word on it," Bonnie replied.
There was another pause as the Original looked contemplatively at her.
"I believe you Bonnie Bennet," Elijah said after a while. "Consider your offer accepted. Now, let me talk to my brothers first before we head out in search of answers."
Then, in a flash, Elijah left to speak to his brothers.
Meanwhile, Bonnie slumped on the balustrade in relief at the realization that the reasonable Elijah Mikaelson had accepted her temporary peace treaty. If he hadn't for certain there could have been blood and dead bodies.
"That was swift thinking, Bonnie," Stefan said as he touched her shoulder. "Now, all we have to do is try to keep Tyler and Damon from provoking the Originals. We can only hope they see the reason for the peace treaty."
"Yeah," was all Bonnie managed to say as they climbed down the remaining flight of stairs to the first floor.
She could only hope that everyone would keep the tenuous peace amongst them while they search for a way out of there.
