Chapter 42 A/N I don't own Merlin. Never have, never will-probably. I'd love to own Colin Morgan or Bradley James though. Even if it is for just one night-a girl can dream can't she ;)

"Is it all safe?" Owaine asked when Cassie walked through the door to her chambers and placed the bucket on the table.

"Gaius says it should be, but Merlin says better safe than sorry. So, I have some flowers for you to give me." Cassie said with a twinkle in her eye.

"My Queen." he said, presenting the flowers to her with a deep bow and a kiss on her hand.

"My Knight, you shouldn't have! They're beautiful!" she said, taking them with a demure blush and putting them in the water she got. "We'll know by morning." she said. "Hungry?"

"Starved! Alex ate what I got and I stopped by the nurse you found for Taran earlier. They're both still asleep in your room." Owaine told her, taking his sword belt

"I'll be right back, Just need some tomatoes and I'll make you some tomato soup." she told him with a quick kiss as she donned her cloak and backed out of the chambers with a coquettish smile. When she returned, Cassie set to work making them some soup, with enough left over for the children the following day, and had Owaine place the table.

"So, we're leaving in two weeks." Owaine started happily as he ate a spoonful of soup.

"We are. I can't wait to go back, I miss your family." Cassie replied with a smile.

"They're your family too."

"At least they will be, in sixteen days' time. I can't wait to see the dress Gwen made me, she's been especially tight lipped about it. Won't let me see it at all!"

"I can't wait to see you in it either." he replied, looking at her with loving eyes.

"So, are we taking the boys?" Cassie asked quietly, her tone changing from playful to serious in a heartbeat.

"We are. I know you would want them there. And can you imagine little Alex carrying the rings to us? It would be so cute."

"Aww, it would." Cassie said excitedly. "I can already see the party there will be after we're married. And I can't wait to see the gardens, those were by far my favorite. Oh, and your little niece or nephew!"

"I know, those moments by the pond on the east side were my favorite of that trip."

"I would have thought that one night after dinner was your favorite." Cassie replied, biting her lower look with a hungry look at his lips.

"You're right, they were my second favorite moments." he told her, soup lying forgotten between them as he gazed deeply in her eyes.

"So, how should I pack? Same as last time? I already met them, but it was for a little over a week, and I want to keep the good impression up. Can't exactly show up in this dirt covered dress, can I?" Cassie said, breaking them out of their reverie with a deep blush.

"I've told you before, Cassie. You would look beautiful in rags." he told her as he took her hand in his and squeezed it.

"I still would like your opinion on the matter. Besides, now I'll be bringing those two devils up there, and I really want to make a good impression with them."

"Cassie, they loved you before they met you. And they loved you even more after. Nothing you wear will change that." he said, standing up and walking around the table to pull her onto her feet.

"But still we'd o-" Cassie said, stopping in mid sentence as he had kissed her deeply.

"My favorite way to shut you up." he said with a smirk against her lips.

"Who said you were the one to quieten me?" Cassie replied with an equal smirk.

"If they weren't here, I would have you screaming my name right now." he whispered against her ear before nibbling her earlobe and kissing her just below the jawline.

"You're a bit cocky, don't you think, Owaine?" Cassie said breathlessly, jumping when there was a knock on the door.

"Every time." Owaine groaned against her neck.

"Sit, eat." Cassie ordered with a smile as she quickly adjusted her hair over her surely red neck and crossed the room to open the door.

"Yes?" Cassie asked when she opened the door to find a tall dark haired man on the other side of it.

"Are you Casiopea?" the man asked.

"Cassie." she said sweetly.

"I was told you're the midwife. My-my wife she's in labor and there's a lot of blood and the woman, Alice, she said that I should come to get you or Gaius, but there's no answer at his door and-"

"Breathe. Take me to her." Cassie said, her medical bag in one hand as she gently steered him out of her chambers.

"I'll try and find Gaius." Owaine said.

"Thank you." he said tearfully, leading her down the stairs and out into the Lower Town near the gates. "We were on our way to Willowdale from Brechea and she started having pains. Please help her."

"Where is she?" Cassie asked after a second of looking around the street.

(Post chapter A/N Ah, small cliffie. Maybe something's going to happen, maybe not. My inspiration sort of dissipated, I wrote the past three chapters today but Physical Chemistry dried up my reserves. Sorry. Also, not sure whether I'll post these in one day or over the span of a few weeks to keep you on your toes-or give me time to figure out what to do- so bear with me. As always, let me know where I went right and where I went wrong. Favourite, Follow, review. Hope you enjoyed! I know I'm not the best at posting and stuff. Sometimes my Harry Potter fic just claims dominance in my mind-I've known Harry Potter since like 2003 and Merlin since it premiered-so…more years' daydreaming back when I was in middle school coming to fruition with HP and less years with Merlin on my mind. C'est la vie.)
