Chapter 5

The next morning, Chiaki and Zenki woke again in each others arms, but this time they didn't get up immediately.

"Zenki, did you sleep well? Thanks for asking before embracing me, I've felt protected the whole night!"

"I did! I fell asleep smelling your hair, which smells nice, by the way, like the whole of you! You don't need those so called 'perfumes' that smell so strong they stink. Your presence next to me feels very nice, I'd like to sleep with you every night..."

"Well, all right, but I'm not ready to mate yet, so it will be just sleeping!"

"Chiaki, can I kiss you?"

"Yes, Zenki, and I'm very glad you ask before you do anything that involves touching me!"

"If I did anything without your consent, you would beat me up, castrate me, kill me, and then resurrect me and do it all over again! You do have a temper, Chiaki!"

"I suppose that is true, Zenki..."

Zenki started kissing her in the forehead, then the cheeks and the mouth, without using his tongue, holding Chiaki close in his arms... until there was a rumbling noise that soon had an echo...

"I guess we should get ready for the day, our stomachs are clamoring for breakfast, Zenki!"

"I've noticed, but later we'll kiss again, I quite liked it!"

"Okay, Zenki, I did like it too!"

Meanwhile, in the Kidou shrine...

"Father, we saw it with our own eyes, there's a second kishin at the Enno shrine, there was a kid who turned into a kishin called Goki, and someone my age with the same name as the kishin we saw that New Year, who I'm not sure if he's human. They and Chiaki use attack spells and healing on a level I've never seen before. I'm not even sure if Chiaki is human anymore!"

"Shuuichi, we can do nothing unless we know more! You know Enno Saki would throw us out of town if she has an inkling that we do not behave within the limits she put on us after the Vasara affair!"

"But what about if we learn how do they control two kishin? If we could control them, we could regain our former standing!"

"All right, Shuuichi, but observe only, for now!"

"Today we're going to meditate again, Chiaki-sama, Zenki!"

"Will we do the same as the last time, Gokimaru-kun?"

"Yes, but today I want you to share your feelings for each other telepathically. Hopefully, being sincere to each other will help stabilize the bond."

.:Zenki, this is going to be hard, last time I was completely sincere about my feelings in front of others was when you were in the verge of self-destructing, and I don't think you've ever confessed your feelings when you were in your true form:.

.:You're right, Chiaki, I find it very hard to talk about my feelings for you! I'm very confused right now, the intensity of my feelings for you has caught me by surprise now that I am in human form! I did have feelings for you as a kishin, but I'd rather die that admit it in front of others then:.

.:I'll be blunt: I like you a lot, even when you're being impossible! I'd like to eventually be your mate, but I want to take it slowly so we both get used to the idea, hugging and kissing is enough for now! You've been human for less than a week!"

.:As much as I would like to make you my mate right now, we should take it slowly, the feelings I have for you are very intense and confusing. You're my Master, my friend and my girlfriend all in one... I want to hold you in my arms, hug you, kiss you and make you happy, even if I won't admit it before anyone I can't trust!:.

.:I also want to make you happy, Zenki, I think I'm falling in love with you, but I'm confused on what to do to make it happen, a future with you as my mate:.

.:It's the same for me, I want you as my mate, but I'm not sure on how to act, I know what to do in a fight, sure, but how to act on romantic feelings, I'm clueless. That's the reason I'm taking it slowly even if i'd like to make you my mate right now!:.

.:You're right, Zenki, I'm not ready yet, we need more time to sort out our feelings before we mate, that's why we're boyfriend and girlfriend now, to learn how to be together romantically!:.

After lunch, Zenki and Chiaki went to sit on the porch next to each other:

"Chiaki do you want to kiss now, before Gokimaru comes here to train with us?"

"I'd like to, Zenki!"

Chiaki sat on Zenki's left leg and then turned her face towards Zenki's face and started kissing him, just as Zenki had done in the morning. The pair became oblivious to the world...

"Shuuichi, looks like they really are boyfriend and girlfriend!"

"I hope there's less lip-locking and more informative action, Gouji!"

When Gokimaru arrived, he watched amusedly for a minute before he cleared his throat a couple of times as the couple became aware of the world.

"Zenki, Chiaki-sama, you can cuddle later, we should start training soon!"

"Just one thing... What does 'cuddle' mean?"

"To cuddle it's to hold someone in your arms for a while, hugging with affection."

"Ah... thanks, Gokimaru."

"Today we're going to work on your accuracy and your stamina... I'll be in kishin form, shielding but moving at the same time, and you will be throwing attacks at me, hopefully at the shield, not at any buildings around!"

A couple of hours later Zenki and Chiaki were panting and breathing heavily and the unnoticed spies (unnoticed because nobody expected any audience) were rather worried.

"Shuuichi, these guys can't be totally human, even Chiaki!"

"I didn't expect her to know and have the power to throw high level attack spells during two hours straight! How did she do it? And her boyfriend! He's a monster! He has to be, he combines Chiaki's attacks with elemental spells and makes them stronger! And the other kid turned into a kishin again, and made shields the other two couldn't penetrate!"

"I shudder to think what would happen if Chiaki and her boyfriend both lost their temper at us, Shuuchi!"

"Let's tell my father about this, then we can make plans, for the moment we should not provoke them, I'd rather not be fried with lightning or being torn appart by a tornado!"

Zenki and Chiaki were resting on the porch, cuddling again, and talking.

"Ne, Zenki, today was a good day, the bond didn't hinder us today and we managed to throw attacks for two whole hours!"

"Yes, it was, it isn't at the actual level of my true form, but it's comparable to the power I had when you first unsealed me!"

"I hope we can stabilize the bond soon, I'd rather you weren't in mortal peril in order to regain your true form... "

"You said that Enno Chiaki and her boyfriend managed to throw attack spells for two whole hours?" "That's impossible, you'd have to be at the level of Enno Ozunu to do so!"

"They did, father, I think Chiaki's boyfriend is not human, even if he is in human guise, his so-called little brother can turn into a kishin at will!"

"We must consider carefully our options, that girl is turning into a headache of giant proportions..."
