Chapter 65 I don't own Merlin, but I am having fun writing this. Short chapter, still trying to figure out where I'm going with this. Also having fun playing catch up to my other fic: I kind of got ahead of myself with that one. Anyways, hope you like, read, review, and have fun! I have some one-shots up if anyone is interested, they're go along, most. Work in progress, too, cause they might give spoilers for this fic. As always, I'm going to stop my rambling short before I get sucked in. I always like reviews, also srry for the long wait.
"Sure, why not?"
"You know you're curious, too." Cassie said, straightening up while he reached over her head and grabbed the sconce.
"Nothing. Did you press something? How'd you open it?"
"No clue, I just reached over and touched it like this…" Cassie said, grabbing the sconce and watching as the bench moved away.
"Strange. Come on." he said thoughtfully, taking her hand from the sconce and disappearing down the trapdoor.
"Now who's curious?" Cassie asked wickedly, a smile forming on her lips.
"Not me." he answered stubbornly, turning around quickly when they were plunged into pitch black in a second.
"Forbærn."Cassie said, conjuring a ball of flame in her palm and letting it float up ahead of them.
"It's a tunnel?" Owaine said in concern
"Wonder where it leads to."
"Don't know. None of the tunnels I know are around here. Actually, I think they said that the tunnels couldn't be built here."
"Strange. Maybe we stepped on something?"
"Let's get out of here." Owaine said, turning her around gently and looking around.
"Wait! There's a door at the end over there. Let's check it out."
"You're too reckless, my love."
"Wrong, I'm not reckless. I'm curious, my Knight."
"Semantics, my Queen."
"Okay, you goofball. I don't see a handle, how do I open this?"
"By pushing?" he suggested sarcastically.
"Ha. Ha. I tried that already. Let's be serious!" she said, giggling as he hugged her from behind and nibbled on her earlobe.
"Okay, maybe there's a sconce or a keyhole or something."
"Maybe." she said, carefully letting the ball of light float up higher to give more light.
"There, it's a circle in the wall." Owaine pointed out, waiting for the light to come back down and illuminate it.
"I see it now, there must be something that goes in there! But what?" Cassie said, muttering to herself in spanish as the ball of light floated closer to it without her noticing.
"Uh, Cassie?" Owaine said, watching the light float into the circle and a faint blue glow appear.
"Si, que?" Cassie said, startled out of her musings as she looked up at her husband.
"The flame, It's being sucked in or something." He answered, motioning towards it with his head.
"Guess that explains why you couldn't open it upstairs. Magic." Cassie said, her eyes dancing with amusement and curiosity.
"You know, I really regret ever making this stupid bet with you." Owaine said, groaning as Cassie pulled him towards the wall. "It won't open. Are we going to walk through walls?"
"Stranger things have happened, my love." Cassie pointed out, her hand outstretched towards the wall. "Damn, I was so sure!" she said when her dainty hand met solid wall.
"Told ya!" Owaine said smugly.
"Geopene" Cassie said, her eyes glowing golden momentarily as the wall before them shimmered the same light blue and disappeared before their eyes.
"Damn, I was so hoping!" Owaine said in the same tone Cassie had used, earning an elbow to the gut.
"Shut up, my Knight. Else you'd like me to think you afraid?" Cassie teased.
"Never, my darling wife." Owaine teased back, hugging her from behind and twirling her once before moving forward.
"Better. What is this place?" Cassie asked, looking around at the cavernous room with wide eyes.
"I don't know. There's a window over there, let me see."
"Sure, but try not to touch anything. Who knows what all this stuff is."
"Books and trinkets."
"Books and trinkets hidden in here for many decades. Before the purge. With magical wards that keep out non-magic people. If they were hidden, it might be because they're dangerous." Cassie pointed out, watching him carefully as he crossed the room and narrowly avoided the staircase.
"We're in a tower? We were nowhere near a tower!" Owaine exclaimed.
"Like I said, stranger things have happened. It's a secret passage, concealed by magic. Who's to say we're not on the other side of Camelot?"
"But there's no towers we can't get into!" Owaine cried out.
"There might be a room that's always been locked? Let me see." Cassie said, walking forward and looking out the window.
"Need some help there, tiny?"
"Ha ha ha." Cassie said, rolling her eyes at him. "Uh, Owaine. We're not in Camelot anymore."
