She had made her choice and resolved to see it through; now the difficult part began.

She would have to keep her intentions from Edward and speak to Bella. At least one blessing was Edward could not read Bella's thoughts and she could keep him at bay. A trick she had mastered over the years. If she thought intently about fashion for long enough Edward wound get bored and withdraw to save himself the headache. New York fashion week was about to begin that was enough material to see her through. She grinned despite herself.

She would approach Bella the next day at school. Ask her to go shopping with her that evening, to plan a shopping getaway weekend.

Bella would groan and grumble but ultimately she would cave to Alice's whims. Alice loved that about her. Yes this was the way forward. once away from listening ears Alice would propose her plan to Bella. Not that she had a choice at this point. Whether or not she changed her mind was inconsequential. The promise had been made to the Volturi whether Bella still wanted it or not.

The night passed by excruciatingly slowly, made worse by the fact that she had to censor her thoughts, instead choosing to fixate on her plan to ask Bella out shopping the next evening. Being sure to emphasize her excitement at the prospect of giving Bella a makeover. As expected, Edward appeared in the doorway.

"She's never going to agree to it," he chuckled.

Alice replied coyly, jutting her chin into the air in mock denial. "I've no idea what you mean!"

"Bella is….subtle in her tastes; she won't let you give her a makeover." He felt the need to expand on his previous statement, despite knowing full well she knew what he was saying.

Alice scoffed, "Well, that's where you're wrong, dear brother. She will because it's me, and I always get my way."

There was something menacing in the way Alice spoke that caused him to falter momentarily; before he sighed and vacated the doorway.

"Whatever you say, Alice"
