Ok, this chapter is honestly going to be almost equal parts authors note and actual chapter.

1. This is the last chapter of BSW: Wild Born

1A. I will be taking next week off posting and will begin posting BSW: Hunted on the 13th of September

2. I am not planning on continuing this AU through the Fall of the Beasts, as I'm not a big fan of either arc (the Wyrm or the bonding tokens)

2A. I do, however, think the idea of the bonding tokens is really cool

3. This chapter is a combination of 18 and 19 from Wild Born. After I had written this, I stopped writing the little chapters with Gerathon or Kovo etc.

As always, thank you for reading this, I hope you've enjoyed it, and I hope you come back in two weeks!

After they had gotten down from the mountain, they had made a memorial for Barlow and Jools, burying Barlow with Tarik's green cloak. Once that was done they rode almost as fast as they could back the way they had come. Monte spoke far less now than he had on the way to the oasis. Monte, also, had decided that as soon as they returned to Greenhaven, he would be renewing his vows to the Greencloaks and would join their ranks once again.

When all was said and done, and the four kids had told their part to Olvan, Lenori, and Lucette, they trudged up their tower and just let themselves flop down on the various armchairs in the common room. Essix was perched on the back of one of the chairs, and Meilin was using Jhi as a pillow. Conor and Abeke were sitting in chairs, but had their hands gently stroking the fur of their respective animals.

"So," Rollan asked, his voice clearly telling them that he was likely to fall asleep any time, "Do y'all think I can convince Lucette and Tarik to give us the next week off training?"

Meilin grumbled, but said nothing either way, and Abeke was already snoring. Conor had a look of guilt on his face.

"Do I even want to know why your face is like that?" Rollan asked, dread in his voice.

Conor shifted nervously. "I've been having some dreams lately, about a boar..."

Gerathon hissed in pleasure as she slid out of the prison she had been held in for so long. Too long. The puny human who had freed her looked at her in awe, but that didn't last long as he became her first snack since she had been imprisoned.

There was still a long way to go, before she and Kovo would win the war, but the first step had been completed. She was free.
