A/N: Sorry for the delay. I work in preschool changing diapers so when I came home each day this week (8/26-30/2024), I was d. But I am here now! Again I do not own the characters or franchise of The Mortuary Assistant or Undertale/Underswap. This was just a silly idea I came up with. All rights go to their respectful owners of DarkStone Digital, publisher DreadXP, and Toby Fox. Another thing is this will be on both my wattpad and Ao3.

Anyways… Onto the creeps~

Blue looked at the car as they pulled up to the mortuary. They sat in the car for a minute, staring at the brick building. Blue couldn't help but feel a million thoughts race in his mind as he looked at the building, then at his brother. He wondered what was going through his brother's mind. Was he freaking out? Maybe feeling grossed out? Maybe a mixture? Sometimes Stretch's mind was a mystery even to Blue, and he was pretty good at deciphering most minds just by looking at the person.
"So what do you think we'll see in here?" Blue asked as he looked at his brother.
"Dead people."
"Well duh. It's a mortuary."
"It'll probably be dead in there. A real snooze fest." Stretch chortled.
"Are you freakin' kidding me?"
"No. I meant that joke."
"Ugh you are insufferable." Blue groaned.
Stretch chuckled as he looked at the building. "Riverfields Mortuary. It sounds peaceful."
"Knowing our luck, it'll be anything but normal." Blue said.

The two of them got out the car and walked toward the building, feeling a chill literally run up their spines. "Alright. Here we go." Rebecca, the protagonist, stated. Blue and Stretch walked into the building, looking around. Their nonexistent noses crinkled at the smell that a funeral home usually has. Blue found his attention being captured to a book on the nearby table as he turned to look at it. He picked it up gingerly and read the cover out loud.
"'What to Expect After Death.' Wow that's… really dark to have that in a mortuary."
"I mean… I can understand why they would have that book here, but it's a dark concept." Stretch said as he looked around the room. The room was lit in a soft light ambiance from the lamps and overhead lights. Beige wallpaper and mahogany wood covered the walls, while the floors were covered in dark hard wood. A bright and vibrant red rug with a table sat in the middle of the lobby.
"I gotta say the interior design in this room is gorgeous." Blue said.
"Oh yeah it's beautiful in here. Tasteful and elegant." Stretch said as they entered the lobby area. The boys noticed a glowing note on the door as they walked over to it. Blue picked it up and began reading it, "'Rebecca! One last thing I forgot to give to you. Please grab a pencil from my desk and sign. Thanks! -Zoey P.S. Good luck!'"
"A pencil? I'm guessing from this desk back here." Stretch said as he picked up the Ticonderoga pencil. He handed Blue the pencil so he could sign the paperwork.
"Thank you dear brother of mine." Blue smiled as he then used it to sign the paperwork on the door to the right.
"Ah don't thank me Blue. It would be pointless." Stretch smirked
"Was that a pencil joke?"
"Yes."
"Ugh! Freakin' a!" Blue groaned.
Once Blue signed the paperwork, the door that the paperwork was attached to opened, which made Stretch and Blue look at each other then down the hallway. They could see a corpse lying on a gurney down the hallway.
"Fuck that." Stretch said
"Stretch! Language!"
"Do you really want to go down the hallway to the freakin' nasty corpse on the gurney?!" Stretch asked
"Well no, but we but we don't have much of a choice." Blue said as he pulled his taller brother down the hallway.
"Surely they aren't allowed to just leave and put a dead body by itself in a room." Stretch said.
"Maybe they just put it there like before we got here and left it for us to prepare? Ugh… now that I say that out loud sounds so…" Blue groaned.
"Disgusting." Stretch finished.

"I was going to say morbid, but sure we'll stick to yours." Blue said as they walked into the room.

"Rebecca! Great. Perfect timing." Raymond, Rebecca's boss said. This caused the boys to nearly jump out of their bones.
"Jesus Christ! That really rattled my bones!" Stretch gasped
"Oh jeez!" Blue said, his hand over his soul. He then glared at his brother as he said, "Now is not the time for jokes!"

"I just finished with Mr. Dalton here. Please wheel him back to cold storage and bring us Mrs. Page." Raymond said.
Blue and Stretch walked over and examined him. Raymond was a blonde man in a white button up shirt sitting in a red computer chair. He was busy typing notes from a clipboard onto a desktop computer.
"Alright." Blue said as he and Stretch walked over to the gurney that held the corpse of Mr. Dalton.

The smell of formaldehyde hit the skeletons, causing them to recoil in disgust. They stared at the corpse, noticing how his skin's color had turned to a pale grayish light brown. The skin on him had sunk in towards his skeleton, allowing the brothers to notice every curvature of the skeletal system within the corpse's body. The corpse had on a pair of plain boxers, much to Blue's and Stretch's relief. Blue and Stretch pulled upwards on the gurney, locking it into place. They pulled it backwards, grunting as they pulled.
"This is… surprisingly heavy!" Blue grunted as he pulled.
"No kidding!" Stretch grunted. "He's really putting all his dead weight into this one!"

"That was kinda distasteful, not going to lie." Blue said as he pulled the gurney.
"Yeah it kinda was wasn't it? Sorry." Stretch said
"It's okay." Blue said as they entered the cold room. They pulled Mr. Dalton over to his cold storage unit. They lifted him up and slid him inside the cold storage area.
"This is kinda creepy." Blue said.

"Yeah it is. Chills you right to the bone."
"Stretch." Blue said as he rolled his eyes. He closed the door on Mr. Dalton's cold storage area and pushed the gurney over to Mrs. Page's area. He and Stretch opened the door and lifted the gurney up, locking it into place. They pulled Mrs. Page out, but they stopped and stared in horror at what she was wearing. Mrs. Page was only in her panties and bra, causing the boys to grimace and recoil in disgust.
"Eww!" Blue said. "They couldn't give her the common courtesy of keeping her modest!"
"Ugh… I did not need to see old lady boobs or an old lady's bra." Stretch grimaced.
"Stretch! That's gross!"
"What? Did you want to see that?"
"Yuck! No!" Blue said.
Stretch snickered his signature laugh, causing the smaller skeleton to blush bright blue. "Aw come on Blue I'm just messing with ya."
"I know. It's just embarrassing. I don't want to see a woman like… this." Blue said as he gestured to Mrs. Page.
"I know, but it's better than her being naked." Stretch said as he and Blue got Mrs. Page situated on the gurney.

Once they had the corpse situated on the gurney, they began pushing her back to the room where Ryamond was. "Gosh… She looks so… sickly." Blue said
"Yeah. All skin and bones." Stretch said.

"Really?"
"Yes."
"Ugh Stretch." Blue sighed.

In reality, the woman did look awful. Her skin was a sickly gray, with her sagging skin sunk into her bones. Blue couldn't help but think she looked like a skeleton (uh no pun intended). His eyes scanned her body, noticing her thin physique and her greasy hair. He scrunched his nose up as they pulled Mrs. Page back into the room with Raymond.

"Alright I'm just finishing up something here. So why don't you grab the clipboard and start recording identifying marks." Raymond said, still sitting behind his computer. "I'll get out of your way when you're done and let you hop in here."

"Okay…" Blue said as he grabbed the clipboard in front of Raymond. His eyes scanned the paper on the clipboard and scrunched his nose up in response to what he was reading. On the clipboard it read, "River Fields Mortuary Embalming Procedure."
"Oh… This is going to get gross quickly isn't it?" Stretch grimaced.
"Eugh… Definitely…" Blue said as he and Stretch walked over and began inspecting the body. As the two boys looked her over, they noticed a gas expelling from Dorothy's left shoulder. The skele-bros gagged as they saw this, covering their noses. "Ew!" They responded together.
"So… Who's lifting her up to look at her back? 3, 2, 1 not it!" Blue said, touching his nose.
"Hey-! I- Aw man…" Stretch groaned. He grimaced softly as he lifted her up and let Blue inspected her back. "Hurry up… She's all cold and icky."
"I'm trying." Blue said as he made some recordings. He then motioned for Stretch to set her down as he gently, and begrudgingly, rotated Dorothy's arm and saw blisters on her hand. "That's not normal." He said as he made some notes.
"Nope. Definitely not." Stretch said.

When Blue looked up, a window slammed shut, causing him and Stretch to jump. "What the heck?!" Blue asked.
"Hmm. These old windows never stay latched." Raymond said, never looking up from his computer.

"Bro said that with no emotion." Stretch said.
"Yeah… that was creepy." Blue said. He went back to the inspection of Dorothy's body, noting a strange mark on her right foot and a bullet like wound on her left leg.
"That's weird. I didn't notice those marks on her when we got her out." Stretch said as he watched Blue turn Dorothy's left hand, grimacing at the pustules on her hand. "Eugh… Why does she have pimples on her hands?
"I think they're boils."
"Oh Jesus that's worse…" Stretch said

Blue moved up and noted some moles on Dorothy's breasts. Once he made the final notes, his attention turned towards Raymond as he began to speak.
"Great, climb on in here and put everything into the record system. Don't forget to take the printout to the front desk so Zoey can add it to the packet for the family. After that, we'll get started." Raymond said. He was now standing a few feet away from the computer.

Blue looked at his taller brother as he sat down in the desk chair. "Hey this is comfier than Kyzer's at home." He smirked.
"Really?"
"Yeah it's really soft." Blue said as he looked at the computer screen. It gave him information on how to enter cadaver information. "Okay so I click on the record system icon to open the program, then I match the sections on our clipboard to the corresponding sections on the computer, then once I enter the findings into the system, I click submit then take the print out to the front desk to start the… embalming process… Ew." Blue said

"You'll die here…" A ghostly voice said.
"What was that?" Rebecca asked.
"You heard that… right Stretch?" Blue gulped.
"Unfortunately…" Stretch gulped.
"I didn't say anything." Raymond said. "You alright?"
"Uh yeah. I'm fine." Rebecca said.

Blue entered his finding into the computer and clicked submit. The printer then began printing the information sheet slowly as Blue and Stretch stood there awkwardly, waiting for the print out to finish. Once it finished, Blue picked it up, a set of glowing footprints appeared that lead him and Stretch to the lobby again. They followed the footprints to the lobby and filed the paperwork in the correct section.

"Time to embalm." Rebecca said.

"Ugh…" The boys said.
"I don't want too." Blue whined.
"Me either… but I don't think the game is giving us much of a choice." Stretch said as they went back into the room where Raymond was.

"Alright. I've set everything out so you can just go ahead and get started. I'll be monitoring. Everything's on your list there if you need it." Raymond said.

Blue pulled out the clipboard and read over it, his face making a sour look as he read the checklist in horror.
"Wire the jaw shut with a needle injector and settings needles… Ugh that sounds barbaric." Blue said.
"That's torture to us skeletons." Stretch frowned.

Blue and Stretch walked over to the window and picked up their tools to begin the embalming process. They walked back over to Dorothy and placed the needle injector into her mouth. "God, I hope I don't throw up…" Blue said.
"Me too. I'm right behind ya." Stretch said.
The two boys gripped the needle injector and pulled up, sending a sharp, barbed needle into Dorothy's mouth. They yelped in surprise and disgust, recoiling softly. "Fuck!" Stretch yelped.

"Oh God…! That's horrible!" Blue cried.
They regained their composure and sent another needle into her mouth. They gagged at the crunching sound that the needle was making in her mouth each time the needle made contact with her flesh. "We're literally beating the shit out of her mouth!" Blue said, horrified.

Once the needles were placed, they closed her mouth making it look peaceful in a morbid kind of way. "That was nasty… It made my teeth hurt…" Stretch grunted, rubbing his cheekbone.
"Ugh I know…" Blue said as he pulled the clipboard back out. "Insert the eye caps to keep the eyes shut." Blue read.
"Oh shit. Those eye caps are contacts that have spikes on the inside of them! They literally stab the eye." Stretch said.
"Ew, then I can't do that. You'll have to do that.." Blue gagged.

"Ugh fine." Stretch said as he pulled out the manipulator to open her eyes. He looked in her foggy eyes and shuddered in disgust. "That's fuckin' gross." He mumbled. He placed the eye caps in her eyes and closed them. "What's next?"
"Now we mix the embalming fluid in the pump. We have to mix Glutaraldehyde, Methanol, Humectant, and Formaldehyde."
"Yummy." Stretch said sarcastically.

Blue walked over and grabbed the four bottles of chemicals. As he walked over to pour the chemicals into the pump, a loud thump was heard from a flying chemical bottle, causing Blue and Stretch to jump.
"Shit! I hate these jumpscares!" Stretch hissed.

"Me too…" Blue said.
"Hmm… sometimes we get chemicals that haven't been stored properly and it can make them pop like that." Raymond said.

"Hell no! That's bullshit! Unless the chemicals have been exposed to a flame, I highly doubt that they pop like that!" Blue said.
"Yeah I call BS on that." Stretch said.

"Just keep doing your thing. I'll get it." Raymond said.

Blue walked over and poured the chemicals into the pump. He pulled his clipboard out and read over the next step, groaning in response. "Make an incision in the carotid artery and jugular vein with the scalpel." He said as he went to Dorothy's right side and focused on her neck. He shakily made the incision on her neck, making a gapping hole in her neck. He gagged loudly, almost retching in the process. "Fuck! You can see her tendons and everything!"
"That's disgusting!" Stretch said.

Stretch handed him the artery forceps and grimaced at the squelching noise that came from sticking the forceps in the incision.
Blue looked at the clipboard again. "Use the forceps to clamp the tubing to both veins and connect them to the embalming pump."
"This is going to reek." Stretch said as he helped Blue clamp the tubing to the veins in her neck and to the pump. He then walked over to the pump and looked at Blue, waiting for instructions.

"Next we engage the pump and let the body… drain… Eugh." Blue said. "Then we turn off the pump, remove the tubing, and close the incision."
Stretch nodded as he turned the pump on. A red liquid began pouring out of her and into a drain. Stretch looked away to keep from gagging. Blue, however, gagged loudly.
"That's so gross!" He shrieked

"Yeah it is…" Stretch said.
Once the fluid ran clear, Stretch turned the pump off and Blue removed the tubing from her neck. He closed the incision with some staple, grimacing with each snap. He looked at the clipboard, reading out loud, "Okay now we need to fill an empty IV reservoir bag with cavity fluid then insert the trocar into the abdominal cavity. Afterwards we mix cleaners in the bathroom closet to create a tank cleaner. Then apply moisturizer to facial features on Dorothy and then her back to cold storage."
