Chapter 10
Miss Lynn sighed as she stood at the head of the table in the teachers lounge, all the teachers seated around, looking confused as to why they had all been called here.
"Good, now that we're all here, we need to correct a grave mistake that we made a week ago." She announced.
"A mistake?" Coach Colby queried.
"Yes...it seems we were mistaken when we expelled Nicole." Miss Lynn stated.
"Ah, no, ma'am, we did not." Mr. Lorre burst out, shocked at what was being said. "Nicole deserved to be expelled, the things she did, that painting, those photos-"
"That painting, was worth a detention at the most as for the photos, we've been given proof that tells us, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Nicole is innocent." Miss Lynn cut him off sharply.
"Wh-what?!"
It was Mr. Katz who spoke up. "Evidence, what evidence do you mean?"
"You all may recall that shortly after Nicole was expelled, Jecka spoke up in her defence and tried to point out some...problems, it turns out she was right." Miss Lynn explained. "Today it was revealed that it was in fact Jeffrey who took those photos and then put them in Nicole's locker, which Emily proved to us anyone could do to anyone's locker, to frame her."
Mr. Lorre looked horrified. "What, that's, that's impossible, Jeffrey would never-"
"He did, he even still had the pictures on his camera roll which Jecka discovered and revealed, he seemed to have some sort of fixation on Jecka which was why he did what he did...in some messed up attempt to try and separate them so he could have her." Miss Lynn explained.
The shocked silence lay thick over all of them.
Miss Lynn wasted no time in making her announcement. "So, as there is no reason for Nicole to have been expelled, reparations need to be made...and we need to reinstate her to this school."
Mr. Lorre looked like he was about to protest, but was silenced by Miss Lynn's glare.
"That was not a question, it was me telling you what will happen."
With that the teachers all murmured their acceptance and Miss Lynn got to work.

Jecka composed herself as she prepared for this, somebody needed to do it and she had all but volunteered. The hard part would be trying to avoid looking smug while making her reveal. Knocking on the door, Jecka waited until Nicole's mom answered the door.
"Oh, it's...Jecka isn't it...I'm afraid-"
"Don't bother, I already know you threw Nicole out." Jecka said quickly.
"I... she walked out-"
"After you wouldn't listen to her when she tried to explain the truth to you, since it didn't match up with your preconceptions so you decided to ignore it in order to have an excuse to yell at her for no reason." Jecka cut her off, sneering.
Nicole's mom spluttered before glaring sharply. "How dare you talk to me that way, I warned Nicole to behave and she gets herself expelled-!"
"No, she didn't." Jecka said firmly.
"Um, I am well aware-"
"No, you're not. Now listen, I'll speak slow." Jecka continued. "Nicole was framed by the creep at our school, Jeffrey, who has now been exposed and it's been revealed that Nicole is innocent, which she tried to tell you before, but you didn't bother to listen. Now Nicole has been reinstated at school, but the question is, where is she going to stay now, because I don't think she should stay with someone who clearly doesn't care about her."
Nicole's mom almost seemed to sag before Jecka's eyes, her face going from red to stark white in mere seconds as she took on board everything that Jecka just said.
"W-what, but that's...she…?"
"The way I see it ma'am, unless you want to lose your daughter forever, you need to really fix yourself." Jecka explained firmly. "I want to know, I've already made sure that things will be safe for Nicole when she returns and if you're not willing to do the right thing for your daughter, my family and I will."
With that she turned and stalked away, leaving the woman to watch her go.
She threw one last lifeline, just in case. "Nicole will be at school tomorrow to be reinstated...maybe think about that."
Then she really did leave.

Nicole grimaced as she stood at the usual meet-up spot, waiting for Emily. She rubbed her arm and tried to compose herself. She refused to be intimidated by what happened. She was stronger than this, she knew it.
"Nicole."
She started but turned and shook her head.
"Emily, hey." She said, stoic as usual.
"So...you're not gonna believe this." Emily said with a smirk. "Jecka found out who framed you. It was Jeffrey."
"Jeffrey, that fucking creep." Nicole snarled.
Emily nodded. "Yeah, but well...that's not all, we were able to prove to Miss Lynn that you were innocent, showed her what Jeffrey had done...he's been suspended for now, but only because they've not yet decided if they're only gonna expel him or if he'll be arrested to."
"Damn." Nicole replied, allowing herself to smirk.
"Yeah, now Miss Lynn has already cleared things up with the teachers...Jecka took great pleasure in telling your mom how wrong she was...Oh and if you show up at the school tomorrow, you should see Miss Lynn, they've pretty much reinstated you and I think there was talk of restitution too."
Nicole bit her lip, but slowly nodded. "Alright, I'll be there...I've got an interesting story for Miss Lynn anyway."
"Okay, well...I'll see you tomorrow Nicole." Emily said, sounding relieved.
With that she left and Nicole sighed, a confused mix of feelings running through her.
Still confused, she turned and began making her way out of the area. She considered for a moment but shrugged, there was nothing she could do about it, she'd just have to turn up as she was. She paused to pull her T-shirt up a little to grimace at the bruise that was on her stomach, one of many she was sure she had received from that moment she had been ambushed, that was what she had to tell Miss Lynn. But she was too bothered by something else.
Namely the strange feeling she was having in one regard. 'Why am I feeling this...always when I think about Jecka, could it be...I'm not supposed to have emotions, I shouldn't...urgh.'
She couldn't make sense of it but decided she would deal with it later. So instead she reached the alleyway she'd made her sleeping space and settled in for what she truly hoped would indeed be her last night homeless.
