Hello and welcome to another experimental fanfic of Danganronpa, in which a new inspiration popped into my head in an unexpected way, as this will be another Danganronpa story which Makoto Naegi will star, but in a different way.

In the manga and anime, he was a normal teenage boy living a normal life yet he aspired to live his life to the fullest, even though he has some ups and downs in life. Here an experimental idea popped in to my head, in which what would happen if Naegi gets into a situation which he has no control of, and how he would deal with it.

That's where an idea came to my head as I thought of a WHAT IF moment, such as what if there is no Hope's Peak Academy, and that most of the characters of Danganronpa, specifically those from Class 77 and Class 78, would encounter each other in an altered situation, like getting into a conflict which there is no turning back.

This plot idea was conceived after accidentally watching a TV drama from the US, which is Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. While an American adaptation of Kamen Rider Ryuki, I was a bit dismayed as that show was TONED DOWN in terms of action scenes and violence, but the plot did enticed me a bit and I had to endure watching 40 episodes on Facebook, and yet it gave me some ideas, so I decided to give this a try where Naegi and other Hope's Peak Academy students would be given some MATURE roles, and here I will see if this fic would attract readers.

And because of this experimental fic with a different scenario, this fic will be AU.

Ch. 1: Kurai purorōgu

Japan.

The country that is located within South East Asia, quite near different Asian countries such as China, Taiwan and the Philippines, is seen and that country is ruled by the Diet, and are handled by the Emperor and the Prime Minister. After their defeat at World War II, the country began to change for the better, and for several decades Japan vastly improved, mostly in the technological department yet their culture and values remained the same, as most Japanese citizens remained hospitable to visitors, residents and tourists alike.

The scene then zoomed further and you can see that the scene shows that the place being shown is Tokyo, which is bustling with people who are walking the busy streets, some riding vehicles, and others riding on bicycles. There are several types of people seen on the streets; adults, children, and even infants being carried by their parents. Businessmen, businesswomen, students, policemen, all kinds of persons are seen, and they were doing their usual activities as if they do not mind it.

Shops are open and the merchants are selling their merchandise and are enticing people to buy them in hopes of earning money. It was a typical day and it seems that people today are lively and felt that their lives are full of blessings and couldn't ask for anything more, as some are happy with stable jobs, students studying in the best schools, and more, and some even chatted with one another feeling that today is a good day.

"Hey!"

"Nice day, isn't it?"

"Today is a good day..."

"I love my job..."

"Life is so good..."

"I wish I have a good day..."

"Lots of money..."

"Lots of girls..."

The scene later shifts to a certain area, where business is thriving the area is frequently being besieged by customers which are a mix of adults and teenagers, and they appeared to be avid collectors, as they are looking and buying second-hand items which are technological in nature, and their reasons for patronizing the said shops are purely economical in nature - cheaper prices and practicality. You can see several shops selling HOT items for cheaper prices, such as smartphones, android tablets and even laptops, and despite being second-hand items, they appeared to be in good working conditions, and some of the customers are willing to buy them as long as their desired items are working fine as well as to save money for budgetary reasons, and the merchants are using subtle means in enticing passing customers.

"Hello...please by our items..."

"They are cheaper..."

"...they are in good working condition..."

"You can try them if you like..."

"I promise you will like them..."

"I promise you will get your money's worth..."

"Here are the items on our display..."

"Pick the one you like..."

The area in question turns out to be Akihabara, and the area is thriving and many merchants set up shops to attract passing customers and entice them to buy their products by showing the items and offered cheaper prices while assuring them that the items are in good working condition, and their marketing strategy worked as some passing customers were intrigued after hearing that so e gadgets are being sold in cheaper prices, and they began asking the merchants what itens do they sell, and the merchants showed to the customers the items they are selling, ranging from smartphones to android tablets and even laptops.

Then the scene shifts to another nearby shop, where a merchant is also selling second-hand items, but unlike the other shops, this merchant is selling something else and is catering avid collectors, and the scene shifts inside the shop where you can see the items being sold, which turn out to be classic console units and games, all being displayed on the shelves, and one by one you can see the following consoles being on display, which are:

- Nintendo Famicom

- Super Famicom

- Sega Mega Drive

- Game Boy Color

- Game Boy Advance

- Neo Geo

- Sony Playstation

- Sega Saturn

- Nintendo 64

In a matter of minutes customers passed by the shop, and most of them are avid collectors and fans of video games, and they were immediately intrigued by the items on display and they looked at the items, as some appeared to be unaware that such classical consoles actually existed, and they began asking the merchants if those consoles and its games are really something to be owned, which the merchant nodded and assured to them that the classic games are RARE, and are fun to play with, saying that even with popular games today that are released on current consoles such as the Sony Playstation 4, the Microsoft X-Box One and the Nintendo Wii, the consoles on display are even COOLER due to its nostalgia factor.

"Are they really cool compared to today's consoles?"

"Yes...they ate cool..."

"Seriously?"

"Yes, sir...they are the very first games...and they are the popular ones in its heydays...and they are RARE to find..."

"Hmm..."

"Would you like to try them...?"

"..."

"I promise you will not regret it..."

As the customers are scrambling to get the consoles they wanted to buy, the scene shifts towards another stall where a merchant is patiently waiting for a customer to pass by, and moments later, someone came as he took notice of what products are displayed inside the stall.

The customer is Makoto Naegi, and he seemed to be intrigued by what the merchant is selling, as he saw a few CLASSICAL consoles are put on display, but then his eyes caught something that piqued his curiosity.

"Excuse me."

"Yes…?"

"May I ask what is that…?"

"Which one?"

"This one."

"This...?"

"Yup."

"…"

Naegi saw a CD-shaped box on display, which shows a character armed with a gun fighting a human-sized dinosaur, in which the merchant said that this game is a collector's item, which collectors are scrambling to find this game and add it to their collection.

The said game's title is shown, revealed to be calledDino Crisis, and the merchant said that this game is considered a best seller and offered it to Izumi for a discounted price.

"Really?"

"Yes. It's a sought-after game which gaming enthusiasts are looking for. And I say that this game is pretty popular."

"Seriously?"

"Yes."

"Hmm…"

"I promise that you'll enjoy this game."

"Well…"

"Believe me…"

Naegi had to think about it as he finds it a bit disturbing about a video game aimed at shooting down dinosaurs, and said that he would have to think about it as he finds the game quite violent.

Elsewhere, several minutes later, the scene shifts at the streets as Naegi is walking home as it turns out that he purchased the PS Vita and is quite satisfied with how things turn out, and as he is walking home he did not notice that something is lurking nearby, as the unseen assailant appeared to be targeting the innocent teen boy.

However, the unseen assailant seemingly shift gears as it noticed a pregnant woman walking near the alleyway, and the unseen assailant went towards the area where the pregnant woman is walking by, not knowing that she is about to be attacked.

Nearby, a car is parked and it showed two passengers inside, seemingly waiting for something, and at the driver's seat is a woman who is in her mid-20s, in which she appeared to be a professional.

This woman, a 27-year-old officer, is revealed to be holding the rank of Superintendent, in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Criminal Investigation Bureau, in which it shows that she graduated from Tokyo University's Law Faculty.

She is revealed to be quite skilled in armed and unarmed combat and tends to attack head-on, with or without backup. Attractive, haughty, and fashionable, she has never been seen wearing the same clothes twice. She can also speak in several languages, most notably French.

The woman is identified as Ryōko Yakushiji, and she appeared to be assigned to an unspecified assignment of sorts, yet she seemed to be patient enough as she has been waiting for the past several minutes.

On the passenger seat is a teenage boy who is of average height. Underneath the cap, he has short dark teal hair with a small ahoge. He has very pale skin and a slim figure. His eyes are gambogeish grey, with thick eyelashes.

The teen boy's outfit is double-breasted and pinstripe, thin, grey stripes over a black uniform. His pants match his uniforms design, black with a pinstripe design to accentuate his long legs. His former school's emblem is on the breast pocket of his uniform, the pocket accentuated with a dull golden color to stand out from his generally dark, monotone uniform. His shoes are dark blue loafers that are both fashionable and easy to walk in, making it easy for him to investigate comfortably.

He is currently 16-years old, and he is identified as Shuichi Saihara, and there he and Yakushiji await something though it is shown that Saihara is getting a little bit impatient though she urged him to be a bit have patience, which he reluctantly nodded.

Suddenly a scream was heard and that's where Ryoko tells Saihara that this is their cue, which the teen boy sighed as he thought that it is going to be a rather boring night.

"Saihara!"

"Oh boy…"

"Looks like that's our cue…!"

"Yeah…"

"You've been itching for some action, huh?"

"Not really…"

"You know what to do, I take it…?"

"Yeah, I get the drift…"

As the two individuals went to the source of the screaming, they saw the woman's corpse thrown onto the streets, and as Ryoko checked on the body, it is revealed to be the pregnant woman, and then saw that the woman's body bore a HUGE hole, indicating that the unborn child was forcibly ripped out.

Saihara adjusted his cap as he stared in dismay as he went towards the alley, and half a minute later you can see Saihara's shadow where seconds later a pair of WINGS emerged and a SCREECH OF A BAT is heard before sounds of a battle is heard.

The scene shows that Naegi is walking the streets as he is heading home, and there a police car passed by, where a policeman accosted Naegi, asking him where is he going, as it is already late at night, and the teen boy, who is 16 years old, told the officer that he is on his way home after passing by the bazaar, and is awaiting a bus.

Sighing, the officer tells Naegi to hop in as he will give him a free ride home, though Naegi politely declined at first but is persuaded to accept, as the officers reasoned that missing person cases are on the rise.

"Hey, kid. Which place are you from?"

"Um…it's…"

"Huh? That's quite far…you know that this is Akihabara?"

"Yeah, that's why I'm taking the train…"

"At this time that a bit late? Hop in. I'll give you a lift."

"Uh…is it okay?"

"Its fine. Buses are few at this time. So come on. Hop in."

"Thanks."

As Naegi gets inside the police car, the vehicle leaves as the officer decided to take him to the train station so that Naegi would get a ride so that he could go home, and neither one of them are aware of what is happening at the moment, as Saihara is seen hunting down the unseen assailant, having seen it CLAIMING another unwilling victim, in which the next victim was seen disemboweled as his upper half of his body was EATEN NEATLY.

As Naegi arrived at the train station, he is ready to go inside to buy a train ticket, not noticing that quite far in the night sky, a flying entity is seen hovering, and a closer look revealed that it was what appeared to be a BIO-MECHANICAL-looking Japanese dragon, and it appears that this creature has its eyes on the unsuspecting Naegi.

Hope you liked this chapter, though Naegi and Saihara appearing late near the end of this chapter, they get some spotlight whilst the night is young, yet horror elements are shown after a pair of persons were brutally victimized by an unseen assailant…

And to top it off, a mysterious creature appeared in the sky and seemingly got fixated towards Naegi…
